Mister Sunshine's

Went for lunch on Boxing Day with a group including some children. Service was friendly and helpful and really good with the kids practicing to order their food. Drinks were delicious, smoothies, milkshakes and coffee all enjoyed. Food was lovely and plenty per serve all came out at roughly the same time. Being out front it was quiet and easy to talk. Parking wasn’t too bad although some did have a short walk from neighbouring streets.

OMG, breakfast gnocchi was to die for, absolutely amazing cheesy sauce. The staff were lovely, greeted with smiles and friendly attitudes. The atmosphere makes you feel at home. Will be recommending this place to everyone i know.

Nice place. Waitress staff didn’t greet nicely tho, just left us standing there for a table we had pre booked.. The food was pretty average and looked pretty depressing. I normally order eggs and bacon at brunch cafes and this is the sadest it’s ever looked and the least amount of bacon I have got for $6. 3 peices of bacon only. When left, the staff didn’t say thank you or even smile. When you go to the counter to pay, she just stared at me. No “hi, what did you have today” or “what did you want to pay for etc” or anything. She just starred at me until I said something and then I just tapped my card and she still hadn’t said anything to me as I left. No thank you, or “see you again”.

We had an absolutely delightful breakfast at Mr. Sunshine restaurant this morning with a group of friends, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was truly top-notch; the entire staff was attentive and made us feel welcome. In particular, Sophia, who helped us, was incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent—every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. And the atmosphere was just perfect—warm, inviting, and a great place to start the day. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a wonderful breakfast experience!

As someone with a disability and sensory sensitivities I was unable to stay and finish my meal. I had asked for the volume on the music playing to be turned down. Although I was told it would be, I couldn’t tell. My video is after it was turned down. I felt frustrated because I liked the music. I chose a quiet corner away from others, in the morning sunlight. The volume of the music was just too much for me in that moment. 😓

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful brunch spot! Had the halloumi and egg sandwich and it was amazing, perfectly gooey yolk, fresh tomato, greens, and golden toast with a nice crunch. Paired it with a flat white that was smooth and well-balanced. Cozy, relaxed vibe with friendly staff and a charming, sunlit space. Great place to kick back and enjoy a quality brunch in Thebarton!

Good food and they make a delicious Bloody Mary. Can be quite loud as it’s usually busy

The Ago mash tastes incredibly good — so refined and full of flavor. I’ve never tried anything like it before; it feels almost gourmet.

Solid brunch spot. The kid loved the bacon, somehow shoved an entire order of french toast down his gullet, and my shakshuka hit the spot. And maybe it was the freezing cold of the unheated outdoor patio ( it's my 3rd year of year-round outdoor dining) but hot damn did that little pot of tea hit the spot. And so cute!

The vegan option is brilliant!!!!! Mushroom & toast is an amazing combination, it's moist not oily and crunchy hazelnuts on top. Also sweet potato mash is creamy and healthy...

Stopped by to get a coffee while my car is getting serviced next door at Holden. As soon as I walked through the outside seating area I instantly enjoyed the relaxed & comfy feeling. With blankets for your legs available for cold days & walking inside to tables & chairs that reminded me of my grandmas. Having a peek at the menu & a slice of espresso brownie just put out it was a tough decision. The bacon & egg sandwich was the winner & I was not disappointed. I am not a condiments lover but that tomato chilli jam brought it all together. Unfortunately not having lactose free milk was disappointing. Unfortunately almond,coconut or soy milk just dont cut it in flavour department for a cupacino. Looking forward to coming back.

Loved this little hideaway in thebarton. Very busy the Friday morning I went.. Service was friendly but took awhile to get to order. Had to order another coffee! I had scrambled eggs, bacon & mushroom. Don't get me wrong, I love my eggs a tad under, but they were a wee too much. The mushroom were incredible, I am coming back for those babies! Last of all coffee, a little on the weak side for my liking but was presented lovely. I look forward to going again, definitely deserves a second try!

Ok, well... my partner and I ventured to Mister Sunshine's after a recommendation from the lovely Carla E. We were informed that the owner is the biggest champion, and well... she was totally right! Not only was the service amazing, the owner lived up to the Café's name and was like a ray sunshine in my day. We arrived mid-morning and were very excited to hear they do all day brekkie. This is such a win for me! We were greeted by Mister Sunshine himself who seated us and was so unbelievably friendly, telling us to get comfy and he will make sure everything is amazing! I ordered the Bacon and Egg Sandwich with added haloumi and spinach on the side. We did have to wait a bit, but I forgave them as it was super busy and they were pumping in the kitchen! Also, they were too nice for me to get hangry. When my sandwich arrived it was perfectly cooked and quite generous in it's size. Bacon was crispy and there was a really tasty home made chilli jam in it. So good! Coffee was also really well made and served in the most cool vintage cup. Loved it! The best part about my experience at Mister Sunshine's was when I said thank you and goodbye. Mr Sunshine asked how everything was, and we told him that it was awesome. In response he sad "YESSS!!" and immediately followed with a fist pump. Hahaha what a champion! I will be back Mr Sunshine with loads of followers! Oh yes I will!! *fist pump*

Whoever decides what businesses get to open in George St at Thebarton obviously has great taste. This street, which was already home to The Wheatsheaf hotel and the Deli, now has Mr Sunshine's - a great café with amazing coffee and breakfasts, and a good looking lunch menu. Apparently it has been open since 2013, with a refurbishment in June 2014 but to me this place is brand new, so it's pretty exciting. I was waiting for a meeting, so when the member of staff asked me if I wanted a coffee, we were off to a great start. It's always good when someone comes up and looks after you and makes sure you're ok. The coffee was served in a funky second hand looking mug and saucer which perfectly matched the paintings and other nick knacks on the wall. This place has been really well designed. Many of the paintings and accessories wouldn't look out of place on the set of Twin Peaks or a Wes Anderson film set. I would really like to know who designed the interior of this café and get them to design my kitchen. Something else to note is that this café doesn't feel cluttered at all. It's a very smart use of the space. After our meeting I had a bacon and egg sandwich with chilli jam and rocket and a second coffee. It was top notch grub which started my day on a good note. I'll definitely be back.

Um, delicious array of breakfast meal options for around $12 ...not $20? A hipster place that doesn't gouge you for the honour of being seen with the in crowd? Welcome to Mister Sunshine's. Everyone had mad order envy of everyone else's selections. Staff were amazingly friendly - there's one guy there my partner calls 'the Happy guy!' which should give you some indication - and it's the sort of place that let us chill for an hour after we finished our meals just chatting and sipping water without pressuring us to order more coffees etc. In short, it's just about the perfect brunch place on this side of Adelaide.

I'm gonna put it out there... best breakky I've tried in Adelaide so far. Yep, I said it. When you cruise into George Street, Thebarton the bold signage of Sunshine's is hard to miss. The front courtyard is full of mixed size tables shaded by the huge gum tree. The front seating area alone is true to the sunshiny name. Walk through the door though, and it's the cheery staff's demeanour that bring the rays. The eclectic bunch always provide outstanding service with a smile. Then we have the food. Gorgeous, fresh, well balanced, quality and scrumptious are all great adjectives to describe the menu. I can only speak of the breakky menu, but I've tried a lot of it and so far have not found a dud (I don't expect to). My faves are the bacon and egg sandwich, the smashed avo (seasonal) and the minced mushrooms. The coffee is solid and on top of all this the prices are great, and whilst there's sometimes a short wait on the weekend, it's rarely too long. If you haven't tried Sunshine's I ask you, why not? Do it.

Must admit, pretty cool joint, makes good use of retro interior. You walk in, the guys behind the counter make you feel welcome immediately. Menu suits all, from bacon & eggs to chicken to vego. I got the Warm Chicken Salad which was fantastic. Coffee decent too, highly recommend!

Whats NEW in West Thebarton!? Well this place is! :) So I don't really know the history behind Mister Sunshines.. but what I can tell you is that this place is back, and the best its ever been.. Mister Sunshine's is a mix between your grandparents house and a mexican garden.. I really found it very cool.. The location isn't ideal, as Holden take up all the car spots, but if your willing to walk a bit you can find a carpark in one of the small (i mean tiny) side streets. Pricing wise.. Mister sunshine's owners have done really well as you really can't go wrong with a maximum meal price of $12.. Now as many of you would know I am a big fan of burgers.. and when you see a burger like this one on the menu you have to try it. The "Beef & Chorizo burger with beetroot".. What a mix, but it worked... the worst part was that it was over so quickly.. and I found the lack of sides or side options disappointing. For all those Coffee lovers out there.. you'll be happy with the coffee choice.. not 100% sure the branding, but it is really smooth.. Unfortunately there large really isn't large, more of a small mug. The Menu is quirky, but well thought out.. There is definitely some other meals I will try on my next visit.. Overall this quirky little venue reminds me of my grandparents kitchen.. with a hipster touch.. I think she actually has the plates and mugs.. :)

I can't speak for other meals but if it was like my breakfast experience this morning... GO HERE! As I walked off the street toward the entrance I was greeted and asked what I needed... "Breakfast" I replied. "Take a seat and we will be right with you" One minute later I was served some water and my order taken.,The Eggs on Toast with Bacon and Chorizos" Was Delicious - But it was the loveliness of the staff that will have me coming back.

Great food and service always busy so be sure too book. Nothing like a margarita for Sunday breakfast.

Let's just say that I can't wait to come back here - for a second, third and fourth time! So writing a review based on one visit may be risky but I'm sure I'll update this as I sample the range of selections on offer! On my one and only visit thus far I sampled the beef and chorizo burger and I absolutely loved it! I teamed it with a freshly squeezed juice - featuring apple, ginger and... something else delicious! The service was super friendly - a real reason to return and no item on the menu was over $12! I also really liked the decor - a little bit 'hipster' but hey - you gotta be on trend these days! Definitely swing by and give this place a look in if you're in the area!

It gets quite busy here during the week for lunch so allow a bit of time to find a table and wait a couple of minutes. Rest assured it is worth the wait, when our food came out - it felt like a bit of warmth and love was delivered on our plate. I had the soup of the day and on a rather cold and blustery day it felt like a little ray of sunlight in every spoonful. The staff were so energetic, happy and friendly you can't help but share in their good mood. It was certainly my mister sunshine on a rather grey day!

Only had coffee on a work meeting visit here but the food looks really good, I'm told it is too by a colleague. Saw some burgers heading out and I had to hold myself back from sampling items. Table service was nice, not sure if they do that all the time but we had it and coffees came out quickly and water was replaced when the bottle was empty. Will have to come back and try some food.

Such a quaint and unique coffee/lunch/dinner/drinks place. Even better is they serve DeGroot coffee made locally in Pt. Elliot. Lots of vegan options. Parking is difficult in the mornings but mister sunshine's is worth risking a ticket for

The best place for brekky in Thebby! Great coffee, food and all-round friendly vibe. If you are in a hurry, you can't fault their take-away bacon and egg sandwich.

Fantastic! Hit the jackpot for lunch when we came across the small hidden cafe The smashed pumpkin on toast was full of flavour along with the haloumi burger Definitely worth visiting.

Amazing vegetarian friendly fare, dog friendly is an understatement. A house made chinotto was the perfect accompaniment to a slightly seedy Sunday siesta.

You may feel like you are not so hipster that its possible to avoid this place. Wrong. This place is so great, you and your oversized, unmaintained, possibly-has-livestock-living-in-there beard is so welcomed. Your slicked back short back and sides with Ray Bans is so welcomed. Your Nanna and her knitting is so welcomed. Get it? You are so welcomed. Its right up the road from fellow welcoming places such as The Wheatsheaf International Hotel (crazy about RollerDerby and lovers of great music), and The Deli (SUCH. GREAT. ATMOSPHERE!) on semi residential semi industrial George Street in Thebarton. Weekend days are your best pick to catch up with a small group and admire the beautiful beards around you. I mean, the beautiful people around you. Not sp great for huge groups without being there upon opening hours, but totally great for small groups. A great opportunity to get seated on a table with people you've never met before - and possibly make a new friend or two! I remember my coffee being spectacular - something I know I say a lot - but only when its absolutely right. And your burger comes out with that excellent 'stabbed by the knife' feeling - and appearance. Very tasty food indeed! It does also happen to be that I know and went to the same school as one of the owners, Prue, so my heart feels a bit on the extra-special-side-of-life for these amazing folks, for what they have created, and for the great atmosphere they have made just outside of the hub of Adelaide CBD. Pro-tip:- ride your bike there. You'll love it!

Loved the food but then breakfast is my favourite meal. They become super busy so you may need to park the car a bit of a distance and perch at any table you can find. Love the decor, always something to look at and always clean. The food is amazing, doorstop spinach and eggs, full breakfasts, perfect mushrooms and nice myself and yoghurt. Absolutely worth braving s crowd for.

Food is great and service is good. However, it is quite crowded, and you might need to wait for the seats. But it is all well worth it.... And, they serve GREAT coffee too.

What a little gem this place is... decked out in the retro miss match of tables and chairs with an eclectic vibe. Featuring an outdoor area perfect for those warm days when you want to sit back and enjoy the warmth of the morning breeze, eating your delicious nutritious breakfast. Highly recommend this place for a chilled vibe and lovely, friendly staff. Coffee is the tits and with a menu of mouthwatering choice I sadly could only order one thing, but fret not I'll be back to try it all. I consumed with much delight and joy the Sautéed field mushrooms on rye bread, with wilted spinach, poached eggs, fresh herbs and mushroom jus. To top it off I added a little bit of side bacon... couldn't resist. It was scrum-delicious-ness thank you mister sunshine and co for the good times and starting my day off full and complete.. Ok. This place is amazing. Mr Sunshine who may have presumably greeted us. Is just a ray of sunshine. Food is locally sourced. Tastes amazing. I had a steak sammich. Best I've ever eaten. The melted cheese. The onion. The steak. It was heavy. But the best sammich to ever have passed my lips. My mate had a haloumi burger and was equally impressed. We washed it down with local ginger beer that had a kick. Happy atmosphere. Happy people. Happy food.

If you're just driving by you won't see much, apart from the excessively large 'Mister Sunshine's' painted on the front wall. Tucked into Thebarton's business end you would think it just serves lunches to local employees but you'd be wrong. Well, they probably do but my biggest surprise was the people that were there. The place has a great feel; a nice vibe, a homely warmth but also hipster and laid back so you'd expect a crowd that kind of fits that mould. What I saw was well dressed business people, singles, young couples, old couples, a family, all ages and all looks, and it made me feel good. The large gum at the front provides shade over a number of tables and doubles the cafe space. Once inside you're met with a shabby blend of vintage and other collections that on their own wouldn't work but with everything else Mister Sunshine's offers it feels just right. The service was amazing. Greeted with a big smile by a lovely warm lady we were shown to a table and despite being busy served our coffee (in old vintage cups) very quickly. The coffee was very nice, solid flavours, a bit of an all rounder. Despite being somewhat rushed I indulged in a poached eggs on minced mushrooms and wilted spinach rye sourdough delight which I couldn't fault. It was pretty, fresh, so tasty and somewhat delicately seasoned but they provide salt and pepper shakers on all tables for those seeking extra. A quick scan of the other menu treats gave plenty of scope for future visits and everyone else's plates looked great too (yes, I do look at other people's food). It all sounded delicious. Mister Sunshine's works. It works because they have great food and coffee, because they've created a friendly warm space where people clearly love to meet, because they smile and chat and exude warmth and friendliness, and because nothing is too hard and they seem the type of people who focus on solutions, not problems. They could make that business work anywhere. Whatever their business plan is they are bang on it.

Staff were friendly and very welcoming on arriving. The place was packed inside and outside, always a good sign. We sat outside with a dog, the waitress was quick to wash the dog bowl out and fill with water. The menu was pretty good and the food and drinks yum, will def go again. Only one very tiny negative, slightly slow on receiving the food orders but the place was packed and the outside area had a nice feel about it, so who cares!

Great atmosphere, friendly sevice and delicious food. Managed to get a great table inside on a busy Friday morning. The decor, music and ambiance of this cafe is fantastic. The service was great too, friendly & helpful staff. A definite must if you're in the Thebarton area.

I was at the Mile End Homemaker Centre and not being a local, I Googled "cafes near Mile End". A fabulous Yelp list came up with Mister Sunshine's at the top and with the incredible reviews, we had to give it a go! My Dad had the haloumi burger which looked incredible and he loved it. I had the bacon and egg sandwich, which was so nice with the tomato relish and rocket. Yum!!! The menu was amazing - it was very hard to choose (and all day breakfast!). This is a totally relaxed place with super friendly staff. No fancy plates or cutlery, just damn good food that's reasonably priced. If I lived locally I would be going here very regularly and will bring my dog next time. Very dog friendly. Just friendly all round. Not a hint of snobbishness - all kinds of people were there.

While I was full my partner got a really great chicken burger with the most amazing pickled condiments, and they were flexible enough to swap out the wholemeal bun. As always fantastic atmosphere outside, was pretty busy and was happy to see a few four legged friends about the place as we had our lunch. While they dont have sweetners for the coffee (curse my unrefined love of all unholy sweetness) I still couldnt help but highly rate this place. Really hip with heart.

Great jars of marmalade being sold at the moment. & had the haloumi and picked fennel burger for brunch - was unsure of all the flavours -but they worked magically together. Thanks chef!

What a treat! Sitting in the glorious sunshine (apt!), we enjoyed an absolutely delicious brunch for a very reasonable price. More than enough food and the friendliest service. A pleasure to see a favourite face from a previously adored breakfast joint - Mister Sunshine himself I can only assume, given his perpetually jubilant demeanor. A pure joy. Can not wait to return next time I am in town.

This is my favorite weekend breakfast spot. The food is super tasty, bangin' coffee & the crew are really friendly. It's like a family breakfast, but without having to do the dishes!

Great food, good coffee, nice chilled out area to relax. Sadly parking can be tricky so you may have to do a little tour of the local area to find a spot. Definitely worth a visit though!

Mister sunshine is a hip joint with cool interior to match. Food was really good. Which had a lot of vegan options. I had the mushroom salad which was yummy. Staff were friendly. Will be back! Definitely! Carpark is a little hard though.

Had the absolute pleasure of dining here for lunch. We were made to feel extremely welcome along with our two prams and associated babies. The smashed avocado was delicious and well priced. This place is definitely Sunshine by name and by nature. The staff were so upbeat, cheerful and friendly, we returned later in the day with additional crew to enjoy a round of hot drinks. An excellent experience and worth making the trip to Thebarton again!

Love this place. Great food. Great service and quietly hidden away..the prices are more than fair for the quality and quantity of food. Only let down was that they are not licensed so couldn't get my saturday morning bloody mary! I will be back as its walking distance to thebarton tram stop!

What a quirky little cafe tucked away in an industrial area. The decor is funky retro, nice and cosy warm on the inside and a lovely outdoor area for warmer days. We just had coffee but the food looked great and it was busy. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

I will give a zero if i could, it took decades for the food to reach my table and it was not tasted as what i would have expected for the wait. Never return again.

Incredibly friendly staff, they treat you like you expect to be treated - like a normal person. Great juices and lunch options. But by far the bacon and egg sandwich with rocket is the most delicious breakfast I've had in a long time. Keep up the good work guys, lots of places can learn from you. Highly recommended!!!! A++

Mr Sunshines is just that, sunshine. Happiness pours out of their coffee, food and incredibly helpful, smiley and delightful team. It has become my staple way to start the day with a delicious breakfast undoubtably prepared with love, care and attention and a delicious coffee. No fuss, just straight up delicious, simple and tasty food. After soaking up some dappled sunlight under their magical large gumtree, and a well satisfied belly (the smashed avocado with wanted nuts is hard to pass up, or their tasty tasty eggs and bacon) it's hard not to leave this place without a spring in your step and a grin on your face. Do yourself a favour and lap up some of the belly satisfying, heartwarming sunshine Mr Sunshines has to offer

Visiting from Melbourne , friends took me to their local- Mister Sunshine. Delightful coffee,staff and food. Lovely courtyard. The sun was shining and the world felt like a better place. Thank you. I may just pop in again today!

I love this place! I live for breakfast, and their smashed avo on toast with toasted seeds, nuts and feta was incredible. So delicious. Great coffee, great French toast, and the nicest staff! Highly recommend :)
