Mistora - Review - Midtown - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"You'll likely recognize the exterior of this spot as the former home of Atmosphere (a French bistro that held things down for more than 20 years). Now it's the home of Mistora, a tapas restaurant serving up fusion small plates like Cajun wagyu meatballs, wonton tacos, and naan flatbreads. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Juli Horsford

Pictures don't lie . The food 🥘 right here is 10/10 . Great ambience lovely customer friendly staff and everything you deserve on a decent date night. Every bite speaks volume and the owners are just amazing people . I will be back again and again . I am a restaurant owner myself and if I tell you the food is good then it's good .

I had the most exceptional server at this restaurant last night. Delyet was beyond accommodating, considerate and friendly. She obviously cares about providing excellent service. My food was not as appetizing as I would prefer, but because of the excellent customer service experience, I will be returning and continuing to tell others about this restaurant. The cocktails were also magnificent.

My girlfriend and I came for a late night dinner and were so pleasantly surprised by Mistora. Our server Ravyn was warm and welcoming and knew the menu up and down and gave us great recommendations! We got the jerk pesto chicken and two cocktails. They were phenomenal. The drinks were delicious and complex, the jerk was spicy but not uncomfortable. We came in late and they made sure to not rush our experience. The plantains were incredible! Would definitely come back. Especially to try their hookah! Tuesdays half off as well!

Dee and Kyree were amazing! Definitely get the mussels and the ruby rush and lingering dust cocktails. Stay away from the croquettes….. definitely an atmosphere that feels cozy.

We found this place on IG and decided to try it out. Went as a group of friends 8PM on a Saturday night and was impressed with the unique intimate setup upon entering. Our waitress immediately greeted us and went over the drink options. Tried the recommended Ruby Rush which was a cup of syrup with a splash of liquor. We began placing our food orders when what appeared to be a "regular" entered and sat at the bar. For the remainder of our evening we constantly had to flag down our waitress as her attention shifted over to that person. Then the Hookah's and the DJ came out. Changed the entire first impression and vibe. Our food took forever to be delivered to our table and in true Atlanta style, an automatic 20% gratuity. I don't mind paying for great service, but this wasn't it.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I was here on a chaotic Saturday afternoon for a pre-wedding brunch where we had the entire place booked out with a curated menu. Despite the logistical challenge of catering to a large, celebratory group, Mistora executed with sophistication. The ambiance is perfect for a neighborhood spot--small-to-medium in size, intimate, well-appointed, with the seating flowing naturally around the central bar. It's the kind of place you feel comfortable dropping into, but where the food delivers a truly elevated experience. I started with the Caramelized Brussels Sprouts. If you're usually indifferent to vegetables, prepare to be converted. They were roasted impeccably--crisp edges, sweet char, coated in a stunning honey and balsamic glaze. The addition of red pepper flakes and grated Parmesan provided a necessary, savory depth. It was, quite simply, an A-tier appetizer. For the main course, I opted for the Braised Bone-In Short Rib. This is where Mistora truly showcases its culinary intent. The ribs were slow-braised in a rich combination of red wine, beef broth, and fresh thyme, resulting in melt-off-the-bone tenderness. Served alongside were garlic-infused purple sweet potatoes and a mix of expertly sautéed carrots, celery, and onions, all finished with a creamy thyme sauce. The flavor profile was deep, comforting, and exactly what I look for in a serious entree. Now, for the one critique: the short rib arrived cold. Considering the restaurant was handling a fully booked, high-volume private event, I attribute this entirely to the necessary slowdowns of service rather than a kitchen error. The staff was visibly doing their best under pressure. I finished every last bite because the quality and flavor were undeniable, even at a suboptimal temperature. This minor hiccup, likely exclusive to a large private booking, is the only reason this isn't a perfect five-star review. The bar looks fully capable, mixing cocktails that were flowing smoothly all afternoon. Mistora is a genuinely exciting addition to the Midtown Atlanta dining scene. They understand flavor, execution, and atmosphere. I'm already planning my next visit on a normal weeknight to see this short rib served piping hot--it deserves it. Go check them out; you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
They got me yall!! Went on a Friday night, only the owner and his friends are there. The waiter is smoking hookah while I sat around waiting to place my order. I order 2 espresso martinis that came up to $80 for two drinks. They got me cuz i paid it. Another empty bar scamming customers. Never again

Yelp
Of course valet parking. Very small intimate space. I sat at the bar. Kam, my bartender was very nice. The specialty drinks were just juice. Don't waste your money on The Phreshly Drinks menu. No alcohol present whatsoever. The sidecar I ordered made up for that other drink. The calamari was rubbery and unseasoned.

Yelp
The restaurant is lovely and the service was great, but the food was mediocre at best. The chicken croquettes were very good but the kale dip was way too pungent and inedible. The chicken lasagne was dry and flavorless. And when the bill came, there was a 15% service charge, which did not cover the tip. And the parking charge was $10, so no wonder we were the only ones eating there tonight. Stay away!

Yelp
Outstanding service and excellent food. Betty helped us make great cocktail and food choices. Everything on the menu (and our table tried at least a third of it) is really unique and flavorful. I highly recommend.

Yelp
We really wanted to give this location a fair chance since it just opened, even after reading some of the poor reviews--but unfortunately, our experience fell short. We were one of only two tables in the restaurant, yet service was extremely slow from the start. At one point, our server left to check what was still available on the menu, and after 20 minutes we still didn't even have water. When I asked aloud for a cocktail menu, the bartender didn't acknowledge me and instead went to find our server, which made things very awkward. After waiting 25 minutes without any progress, we decided to leave.

Yelp
Very impressed with the food, service, and ambiance. I will be back. Also great music playing over the speakers.

Yelp
Horrible service, long waits (1 hour for drinks, over 2 hours for bad food), and zero communication about the hold-up. Cold, burnt food and cheap wine was swapped for expensive bottles. When they ran out of food, mystery substitution dishes were brought without asking if it was okay. Avoid at all costs.
