On the Grid : Mistura

"Mistura is the type of ice cream parlour that has you hopping from one foot to the other with indecision, drooling over the bounty of delicious flavours on display. To make matters worse, it's not just ice cream: they have sorbets, fresh juices, milkshakes, iced teas and coffees. Oh, and about a billion toppings." - Half & Twice

Mistura Ice Cream & Coffee Review - Sol - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Mistura is our spot for homemade gelato and vegan milkshakes. Pick from a selection of toppings and watch as the ice cream is hand mixed in front of you on a slab of frozen marble. There are five locations around the city, so you can easily stop by one while out sightseeing." - Cristina Shipe

Servers were not paying attention to the clients, keeping talking amongst themselves, even after we started ordering. Asked for a cone, got a cup (not a big deal in itself but they did not want to hear what the clients wanted). Ice cream melted quickly as well, but the real problem was definitely the big chuck of plastic that I found in the straciatella that almost broke my tooth.

Google
The best Granizado in Madrid. Natural and fresh. We visited many times during our trip. Highly recommend!

Google
Fantastic ice cream prepared with topping before your eyes. 2 flavours incl 2 toppings for 3,95€! Few seats indoor, a bit hot during my visit so outdoor seating would have been nice. WC available.

Google

Google
Amazing experience at Mistura Ice Cream. Nice flavors with a tasty and interesting one: salty chocolate. The serving with smashed toppings was original and the staff was super nice. I recommend 100% for an ice cream in Madrid

Went to the Mistura outlet at Augusto Figueroa. Fell in love with the place, even more so with the food. The waitress was really friendly and helpful and gave us good recommendations for the best ice cream / sorbet that pairs best with the waffle we have chosen. We especially love the dark chocolate sorbet. Thick, refreshing and every mouthful is a joy. You’ll not get sick of it at all. We also had the pistachio ice cream with the dulce de leche sauce. The pistachio ice cream was nutty and added a very earthly taste to the sweet sauce. Those topped onto the crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside waffles brought me and my partner to food heaven. Also, we would like to give a special shoutout to the lady serving us for our great taste in music! Dean Lewis ❤️ Made our eating experience even better!

Google
Favorite icecream!! All the flavors are incredibly delicious and tasting. You can tell they make it with high quality ingredients. I loved the salted chocolate, pistachio, avellana and vanilla! I’ll go back to try more! The service is great and they’re very friendly. You can eat the ice cream there.

Google
Cute little ice cream place in Madrid. Ice cream was nice, maybe not the best I’ve ever had in my life but still good ones. Price around 4€ for 2 Scoops and toppings.

Yelp
Delicious and flavorful ice cream was what we wanted and that's exactly what we got. There is also various toppings of fruits, nuts and other varieties. Nice clean space to sit and have your delicious ice cream. Friendly and efficient service.

Yelp
Delicious. Pick your flavors and they will mix in toppings for no additional charge. Hard to say if it's classify this as gelato or sorbet but what ever it was it was fantastic. I had the berry flavor and yogurt flavor topped with fresh strawberries. Perfect treat. Recommend!

Yelp
One of my favorite gelato places in Madrid. They have so much variety, including various sorbet flavors you don't often find in gelato shops. You can add toppings that they chop into your gelato. I got the chocolate sorbet and mango sorbet. Both weren't icy like what you normally get with sorbet. It was a little creamier. I really enjoyed it. The chocolate sorbet is good if you're a chocolate lover but don't eat dairy. The waffle cone was also really good. I'd recommend coming to this place for gelato but they also have coffee and waffles!

Yelp
A great selection of ice cream flavors and open late! Two of the best things, especially if you're on the Spanish schedule where dinner ends around 11. Service was fast, and it's conveniently located in a busy/touristy area as well. Each flavor comes with an additional topping too :)

Yelp
Nice ice cream and great selection of flavors. By great selection of flavors, I mean pistaccio and matcha(green tea). These two are my favorite flavors yet it's difficult to encounter a place that have both of these flavors!

Yelp
Definitely come here for ice cream if you are an ice cream lover like me! I walked by randomly looking for something else and spotted it. It was on my list of must tries while in Madrid, but I didn't want to ruin dinner. I wasn't sure if I was coming back in that direction, but luckily my hotel was walking distance. I ended up here for dessert after dinner. The ice cream here is so so so so creamy and smooth! The best part is that depending on how many scoops you order, you get a free topping which they mix in like how they do here at Coldstone. The only difference is that the ice cream here is a gazillion times better. It's very fresh and the flavors are very pronounced. They really pop. I tried the matcha and earl grey and both were delicious and tasted like the tea, very strong. Perfect for me. I also tried the pistachio which was good, but not as strong. Come here instead of the Plaza Mayor location. More flavors and bigger. Less touristy.

Yelp
This place caught my attention because it has a great selection of diary free vegan ice cream. The vegan ice cream here is rich, creamy, and flavorful, definitely beats a lot of other places I've tried. The atmosphere is very trendy and there is a huge lounge area downstairs, which was a nice break from walking around all day. Service was great, the staff spoke English. We even met another tourist here from Toronto!

Yelp
Mistura is a tiny gem awaiting you on Calle de Agustin Figueroa. This small gelato shop serves coffee and delicious gelato in a small space not meant for large groups. The atmosphere is welcoming, the treats are delicious. If you are in the mood for something sweet, definitely stop by Mistura and enjoy some gelato and cafe con leche. It certainly is worth taking the side streets to find spaces like this. Enjoy the gelato my friends Travel on.

Yelp
Food: 4.0/5.0 Service: 3.0/5.0 Value: 3.0/5.0 Decor: 3.5/5.0 Overall: 3.5/5.0 Solid and friendly setup of a local artisan ice cream shop (3 locations in the city as of June 2016). The selection wasn't very deep but they have both standard and unique options and offer included toppings. Honestly, [almost] all ice cream is good, so stop reading this review.

Yelp
Ice cream (Vanilla & Cookies) is pretty good but more importantly the playlist here is BUMPIN'

Yelp
Finally found the best ice cream in town. Preparation is very interesting and place is very cool. They have 3 shops- this, in New balance in Gran Via and next to Plaza Mayor. But this one is my favorite. Good waffles but pistachio ice cream with brownie and nuts it's the best!

Yelp
Went to this place after researching for best ice cream in Madrid. It was indeed the best ice cream we went to in Madrid. The shop is impeccably clean and the interior is more of something you would find in the states. I loved the rustic decor and they more seating than usual ice cream shops. Now onto the ice cream. They have a good selection of classic flavors like chocolate, hazelnut, and pistachio and a couple non-so classic flavors. I'm always a sucker for both chocolate and hazelnut and it didn't disappoint. It was so creamy and rich. One thing this shop does differently is they add toppings, jams, and syrups to your ice cream. Think Cold Stone Creamery. My ice cream was so good the way it was, I didn't care to mix anything in but my friend mixed some orange jam into her chocolate and it was pretty good. Conveniently my friend was going to Madrid 2 weeks after my trip and asked for recommendations. He went here and agreed that Mistura's ice cream was really good. Highly recommend! Also, they have free wifi and non-ice cream on the menu like freshly squeezed juice, hot chocolate and desserts.

Yelp
after a day of tourist (aka a long day on foot), I should drink some water.... or cold ice-cream?? This was quick and easy, they do ice-cream + a topping (any topping). I had strawberry toppings (jam-like) with my hazelnut ice-cream. It was delicious! Very soft, smooth, and creamy. wifi + great staff. definitely recommend!!

Yelp
I had been drooling over this place ever since I found them on Yelp when I was doing my research before we left. It was some of the creamiest & most delicious ice cream my tongue has ever licked. The Chocolate Intenso is just that. It's an intense punch of dark chocolate flavor that this chocoholic was craving. With a large handful of flavors and two large handfuls of toppings to choose from, you can try any sort of combination your heart desires. Most of the scoopers seemed to speak English. The one assisting us was super nice & made recommendations on what flavors tended to be favorite combinations. I'm glad we didn't find them until our last night in the city because I would have been here multiple times a day.

Yelp
The ice cream is very good and the service is great. Toppings are free. Adffogato was excellent.

Yelp
Wide selection of vegan non dairy ice cream with no gluten! Coming from someone with alot of food allergies and limited options, I was beyond happy with this. Going back for more tomorrow! Each flavor comes with an additional topping, even the dark chocolate was vegan!

Yelp
Amazing ice cream..Rahual knew English well and explained how their ice creams are made. You can taste how fresh it is... I can't recommend the Dulce ice cream enough. It was the best ice cream I have ever had

Yelp
Delicious gelato! I had the green tea with cookies at the topping - strange I know, but I was in the spotlight & could not decide on which topping. It's a small store, and a small cup is like €2.80. It is a bit pricey, but quality gelato. The place is small and cute.
google avatar

Yelp
"Coldstone but for gelato" was the phrase we came up with when speaking with one of the owners. You get a free topping - of course I went with pistachios in pistachio ice cream. Kind of like the philosophy of flavoring beef with beef bullion - pure success. These guys have traveled a good deal and hold up in English conversation, and the prices are about what you'd expect of a boutique ice cream shop in Chueca.

Yelp
Great flavor choices, especially for those who are lactose intolerant like myself. My friends and I returned 2 times. Also good service who know the ingredients in Spanish and English, and recommend flavors. Sometimes long line though!

Annie G.

Yelp
So delicious!! I am allergic to gluten soy and dairy and their vegan gelato is amazing! They even have a chocolate flavor which can be a hard find here. They are a little pricey though which is why I gave them a 4/5.

Yelp
The ice cream here was sooo good. Perfect taste and perfect texture. The place itself was really cute and the worker who served us was extremely nice.

Yelp
Nothing special. Just an average ice-cream you can buy in a supermarket. If you are close by to this place it is ok, but it is not worth a special trip if you are far away.
google avatar

Claudia A.

Yelp
Love the coffee shop. Very nice decor, quality coffee, and exceptional service. Will come back.
google avatar

Kaelen P.

Yelp
Super delicious and unique flavors. I'd recommend the green tea, pear sorbet, lemon with mint topping, and basil lime. The portions are relatively small but the quality is very good. The chill zone downstairs is also pretty awesome!
google avatar

Sabina B.

Yelp
I don't think there is much to say about this place, except that they do make the best ice-cream in the world. That is it.No fancy flavours, but those they have (hazelnut, pistachio, cream, vanilla, dulce de leche, coconut, coffee and dark chocolate and some sorbets) are superb. Especially pistachio and dulce de leche. They will blow your mind. Enjoy simple as that or choose from about two dozens topping like chocolates, nuts, dried fruit and jams.

Yelp
Rich ice cream! The chocolate brownie is the best. The service is great and the prices are reasonable given the quality of the ice cream. Would definitely go again

Yelp
Ice cream was awesome here. After stopping at 2 other ice places before I needed to maintain my back fat.

Caroline F.

Yelp
Best gelato I have found in Madrid!! The staff is extremely helpful and willing to give samples!

Anna K.

Yelp
Really good quality ice cream! The green tea matcha flavor was so strong that I was satisfied even by the small portion. Prices were pretty good, about the same as other ice cream shops, but a lot tastier. The whole thing about mixing in the ingredients was kinda stupid though, I feel like they could have just sprinkled the stuff on top and had the same effect.
