Redevelopment Plans for South Downtown Atlanta Include a Rooftop Diner and a Cocktail Lounge at the Historic 222 Mitchell Building | Eater Atlanta
"This mid-century concrete structure is being redeveloped with an emphasis on preserving historic fabric while adding new public-facing uses. Renovation plans highlight exposed, cast-in-place concrete waffle ceilings with unique curvature, retention of the exterior metal grid screen, reopening of street-level archways, and restoration of glass storefronts. The project repurposes original building elements (including a former mechanical closet) into interior space and creates rooftop and patio connections with views toward Mercedes-Benz Stadium and adjacent mixed-use development, aiming to host independent restaurants, artist studios, and creative offices while honoring the district’s long-standing architectural character." - Beth McKibben
Beautiful architectural site. It’s amazing how well preserved it is, the city of Milwaukee has done a great job helping this gem maintained in conjunction with its owners.

Friends of mine lived in the weather station tower (apartment) back in the mid-70s. You could go out one of the windows and climb up to the roof where the weather instruments used to be. Those oval windows are over 6' tall. A beautiful and historic building.

The Mitchell Building was built in 1876 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. This is a beautiful historical building and a must see. Check it out!
