Mithaas Review - Jersey City - The Infatuation

"Mithaas has an extensive food and sweets menu that includes North and South Indian dishes, but we go for the Indo-Chinese, a type of cuisine that’s a mix of Chinese spices with traditional Indian ingredients. Our go-to order: the vegetable hakka noodles, chili paneer, and Schezwan fried rice. Head here for a sit-down lunch or casual dinner, and make sure to grab a few sweets from their mithai selection, like a beautiful golden box filled with motichoor ladoo, kesar peda, and malai chop." - Nisha Vedi Pawar

Mithaas quality is degraded. Ordered pyaaz kachori and it was worst, one of the kachori soaked all oil and it was dipping, still staff packed it. Other kachoris are so thick and tasteless. It was like eating uncooked dough. Samosas are also age old and not eatable. We ended throwing up everything

I am really pissed today with new manager of restaurant. Since 1997 we eat in this restaurant and before Manager was such a good guy from Bombay very courteous. Such a bad experience I am so pissed . Everyday I order same club sandwich and don’t have problem but today I got my sandwich not toasted , no chutney , no vegetables , no curly fries . Called restaurant and spoke to some gentleman name kamal , he was so nice and said sorry and said we will send you new one with next order . After 5 min I got a call from him manager needs pics . I did send pics with details 5 pics and she started argument even she can see the pics that description and food send is not same . It’s so bad behavior. I am disabled person and now will go and show her the sandwich. It’s bloody $14 that is not even the issue , the issue is admitting mistake and saying sorry . Workers are more polite than the new manager . Shame .

Delicious food and a wide variety of options to choose from. The sandwich and Malpua/Rabdi are a must-try. The thali was decent, but not very impressive

Google
I have always given them high ratings but our last visit was very disappointing. They didn't honor my birthday coupon they had emailed me. Onion kachori was served after two of us had finished our meals, after following up twice. The item was horrible. It seemed they had deep fried leftovers. Very oily. We didn't eat it. Something has changed very badly. Serving lady didn't understand English nor Hindi. Ladies at ordering counter were more interested in chatting with each other and on phone

Great array of Indian sweats my wife brought my all the way to London. Good flavours and varieties, always happy with Indian food.

Good food with generous portions at a reasonable price. I often get sweets like Gulab Jamun and Rasmalai from here—they're always fresh and perfectly balanced in flavor. I visited for dinner on a Thursday and enjoyed the Mithaas Special Thali, which came with four different vegetables, tawa roti, rice, and a dessert. The thali was decent and good value for the price. The Paneer Tikka Sizzler was the highlight—amazingly flavorful with the perfect blend of spices and a delightful grilled aroma. The atmosphere was vibrant with a musical night, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Ordering was slightly challenging due to limited assistance, but it didn't detract much from the visit. I’m looking forward to returning another Thursday to relive the lively vibes.

Title: A Hidden Gem for Authentic Indian Cuisine Review: Nestled behind the Joy Alukkas, this restaurant truly is a hidden gem worth discovering. As you take the stairs down, you enter a warm, inviting space that immediately promises a delightful dining experience. The setup is casual—you order at the counter, which adds to the cozy, laid-back vibe of the place. We decided to go for their special thali and paneer naan, and they did not disappoint. The thali was an excellent choice, offering a variety of flavors that perfectly balanced each other. But the highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the paneer naan—hands down the best we’ve had in the entire New England area. The naan was soft, buttery, and filled with perfectly seasoned paneer that melted in our mouths. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting. We also tried their rose milk and masala soda. While the rose milk didn’t quite hit the mark, the masala soda was refreshing and paired well with our meal. The prices are reasonable for the service provided .

Food was really good and service as well. We went for trip in new jersey and everyday we ate there . The cashier girl was rude but the service and food was literally good

Yelp
Food was amazing! We kept going back to the register to order more! Great place for lunch in Edison. Pani Puri and Dahi Batata were to die for. We took some sweets to-go which were just as tasty.

Yelp
I came here with a couple friends after being recommended it by a friend and overall thought it was a good place but nothing amazing. The place is usually pretty packed but not too hard to grab a table. You sear yourself and they come over to take your order. You can also go up to the counter to order for takeout if you prefer We started out with the pani puri and were pretty disappointed with the dish as the pani was almost fizzy?? I've never had pani puri like this and this threw us off quite a bit. The dahi puri was better but also nothing amazing In my opinion. We then got the Amul cheese pav bhaji and the paneer sizzler and both of these items were amazing! Paneer was flavored really well and we got 6 big pieces which was amazing. The pav bhaji flavor was also amazing and it came with a big portion as well! We had also ordered a cold coffee with ice cream but it never came out because they didn't have any ice cream left so they suggested we cancel it. I would recommend going here for the non chaat items but overall not a bad place!

Yelp
Meethas is a well-known name for Indian sweets in the New Jersey area. My experience with them around nine years ago was excellent, so we decided to visit them again during our recent NJ/NY trip. To our surprise, their Indian sweets disappointed us with the taste and quality delivered. The only item we thoroughly enjoyed was the Faluda - it was heavenly. Unfortunately, the other five sweets we bought were a complete waste of money.

Yelp
I'll start with the good: the food was decently tasty overall. Standouts were the kachori and the aloo pyaz paratha. I did feel like the malai kofta was a little empty, there were very few pieces of kofta in it, but the sauce was good. The not-so-good: the general cleanliness and customer service was subpar. When we got in and asked for a table, we were told to go stand by a yet-uncleared but empty table, and they'd clean out whichever table we chose for us. Several food items had hairs in them. The cutlery did not look clean, and our table wasn't even wiped down until after our food was brought out. I would not eat here again.

Yelp
Had really high hopes for this place because when I'm nearby it seems packed always. The seating is first come first serve but when we went it was unclear to us if we had to tell someone to find us a table. Apparently you claim a table, ask a random waiter what number table it is and then go to the cashier to order. There are many ways to make this efficient, hopefully they figure it out. Ambiance and the service is just chaotic. Also the cleaning table service was slow hence why getting a table is slow. Anyways, for the food we ordered - malai kofta - this was not good - paneer tikka masala - this was great - dahi puri - this came out soggy - pav bhaji - this was great - bhel - great but salty - papdi chaat - great but under salted - malai kulfi - my fave, love the paan flavor on it - gulab jamun - good

Yelp
I'm not sure what's the hoohaa about this place but honestly they have good mithai but can't say the same about the food. This is probably my second time here with family and friends. We ordered vada pau (mild), chole bature, grilled sandwich and Amritsar thali plus mango shake. Since vada pau is my favorite this was very disappointing as I told them not to make it spicy but it was super spicy! I was literally tearing up and chugging water. The chole bature was so-so nothing amazing. I had better chole bature before. The Amritsar thali had chole, paneer makhani, rice, 4 pieces of kulcha. The chole was a let down but the only thing I liked was the paneer makhani.. even the kulcha was so-so. I get it that it's pretty popular amongst others but I didn't think the food was spectacular amazing. I won't come again to any Mithaas locations for food but their mithai was spot-on!

Yelp
This has been my go to place for everything sweet and savory I miss from home. Be it the "Poori, Bathura or Chaat" or the sweets like cham cham and Rabri. Unfortunately each time I go to Edison I'm unable to try other joints just because they exist, went on a rainy Friday afternoon, solo to enjoy bedmi poori, it's a lentil stuffed deep fried bread served with hot and spicy potatoes and pickles all less than 12$, my poori was a bit too over fried, I packed 25$ worth of desserts. Must try jalebis, gur rabdi and the tri color cham cham!

Sonu S.

Yelp
Totally disgusting . The sweets were old so old and when I Biden to them it was so dry. They don't even make their own sweets and they sit on fridges for weeks.

ContactAT T.

Yelp
honestly i could give less then one star. This place is run by crooks. On May 25th 2024 i took takeout order , One bhatura was missing , Samosa chat had one samosa missing, ras malai was stale i had to throw it out. Some of the mithai also had bad smell, throw out that too. Pls double check everything before leaving this place for any takeout. This is a very dishonest business.

Yelp
I had high hopes of this place, but it turned out to be OK. I've definitely have had better chaat at other places. We ordered the Dahi puris and Pani Puri. First, the ordering system is quite chaotic. They have multiple registers open, but no concept of a proper Line which makes it look very disorganized. A Couple of people just cut us in line to order. Plus there was this huge pillar right in front of the counter that makes it hard to maneuver around it to order. Once our items arrived, they seemed small in size/ portions. The Dahi puri was ok, nothing spectacular or like that "oh wow" feeling. The Pani puri had only 6 shells whereas most of the other restaurants serve at least 8 shells. If I had ordered more shells, then the Pani would have run out and it would have thrown off the proportion of shell to water. Not returning here. Also, I had to order Teas twice by going to the counter. Little that I knew, that the waiters walking around, had access to ordering from their tablets which I didn't spot initially.

Yelp
I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place, but the ineptitude by the staff and the lack of available menu items made it unbearable. We had to leave after realizing the worker didn't know there was a sign that read wait for a server to come to you and then when asked about various platters we kept being told they don't have that anymore. Huh? Won't be coming back ever again!

Yelp
What has happened to this place? Did Covid hurt the business and morale so much that a restaurant run by a reputable group of hospitality experts couldn't recover? It was a professionally run with array of mesmerizing Indian street and regular food and Indian sweets (as their name indicates). The places was always packed and ordering was orderly and the service was courteous and an overall happy experience. It's quite tedious now with long waits, seldom smiling and stressed staff, and overpriced sweets. Note to mgt- let's make this the great family place it was, again!

Yelp
Very nice food and great service. Jimmy was too helpful. Felt like a home. Everything is delicious but Rabdi and Bombay sandwich must to try.

Yelp
Pathetic service & allu chaat had nothing but bhuture wale chole & 1 piece of aloo tikki. It was very disappointing. I can make better Allu chaat at home so obviously won't be coming here again or recommend it to anyone. Total waste of money & time. Only saving grace was the live singer.

Yelp
We keep visiting this amazing restaurant. These days we call and order and to-go .. sit at home and eat peacefully :) love their sweets too.. esp jelebi. Good service nowadays .

Yelp
They have pathetic management at first because attention to details is a joke here They have a dish called "cut mirchi" means it's deiced right, but due to wait my order was cold the funny part is they placed under a bad stating Caution hot. Funny!! After I picked my order and drove home I saw the mirchi was not deiced and were full long mirchi which I have placed in a picture so I called and said that this was not suppose to be my order The lady over the phone replied that you have to specifically tell us that it needs to be cut. Imagine the dish itself says cut mirchi and those brainless maniac are arguing over the phone Not a pleasant experience

Yelp
YIKES. Mithaas is one of those places that's grossly overrated and likely only maintains business because of it's name. At a recent visit, my family and I ordered paneer kathi roll, mithaas thali, chole bathure and a raj kachori chaat as an app to share. All the food comes out at different time points, so make sure you don't bother to wait for each other's items to eat. (This is a commonality across it's other locations as well, including the one in Hicksville). We were all done with our entrees and ready to leave when the raj kachori came out- completely unacceptable. Furthermore, the taste was gross. The kachori was old and stale, the dal inside was harder than it should've been, and somehow saffron was the overpowering taste. As for the other dishes, 2 stars at best. The paneer kathi roll was pretty much shimla mirch paneer wrapped in a roti, the chole were subpar in taste, and the thali was also just meh- the paneer dish included was SO sweet. We also had one order of mango lassi which was pure sugar. I'd never find myself frequenting Mithaas again.

Yelp
Food was overpriced and definitely not worth the high price. Ordered Vada Pav and Dabeli. Vada Pav - Vasa's were hard and chewy which means they were definitely not fresh. Dabeli - Look at the picture. Is that what you call a Dabeli? Is that how you really represent our Indian food? Very disappointed!!!!

Yelp
Our experience at Mithaas was below average. Although the food tasted good, the overall experience takes it to two stars. Here are some setbacks: 1. We took the Mithaas special thali but there was nothing special. The quantity was quite less plus the items in it were swapped with non-special items unlike before. Our thali was literally half empty when it arrived. It had two spoons of rice instead of at least a cup, two small rotis instead of the usual 4 pooris and other sabjis were of mediocre kind making it very unspecial. 2. We had to wait for at least 45 minutes for our table to be cleaned and order to be taken. 3. We had to literally ask someone to take our order as we were seated at the tables. 4. They didn't even offer us a menu and only did so when we asked. 5. silverware/cutlery wasn't provided unless we asked. I dont think I will return back to this place.

Yelp
In my previous reviews I have rated this place a 5 star!!! Unfortunately this place have deteriorated way beyond in its quality of customer care! I still visit here for the panipuris! Last couple of times I decided never again... and this time it's never again for sure! I feel bad for the guys behind the counter, but they do not have a proper system in lining up for ordering!!! I waited for 5 mins and then asked if they had different lines for ordering the sweets from ordering for the dine in! The guy said that they are short staffed and cannot have 2 lines! Well waiting for another 5 more minutes, another guy comes along and the guy behind the counter takes his order for dining in! Such a chaos in ordering and the attitude of the guys who takes the Order is unbearable! Sorry to say, will not recommend this place for sane people...

Yelp
If I could pick 2 restaurants in New Jersey to eat at, Mithaas would be one of them. My husband who is a huge fan of the bedmi puri and aloo sabzi swears the taste was exactly the same as what was served back in india. He ate the entire plate by himself!! The roomali roti was excellent t but the veg keema had a bit too much lemon in there. We ordered some form a Raj kachori chaat which was delicious. The previous day we had ordered paneer tikkas from here as well which were amazing. The paneer was so soft and it was perfectly grilled. I have yet to taste better paneer in the usa. The only competition would be the neighboring bikanervala in New Jersey! Also their rabdi and kulfi faluda is to die for. It's a bit different that what you get in north india - the one here is a lot more milky and had the rabdi all mixed in with the kulfi in a cup. Nevertheless it was delicious. Cannot go wrong coming here!

Yelp
Love this place! It's a canteen feel so be critical about service when you come here. You order at the counter get ur food to ur table and get your own cups of water. The food comes out very quick and it's fresh and tasty! It's always hard not to over order here. Spice level is perfect. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Not impressed at all food and service Sweet ok Indian owners need to manage smiles on customer service

Laksh C.

Yelp
While their food and service didn't meet my expectations, their sweets were absolutely delicious. We tried dahi batata poori, channa batura, channa samosa, masala fries and poori baji.Liked the masala fries, everything else was ok.

Yelp
Horrible unhealthy garbage food soaked in oil. Their Kati rolls are an apology of the original Kati roll. Tables are dirty and filthy. We sat for 15 minutes until some guy finally cleaned it after we had to pester him to do so. Service is slow and the worst. Bathrooms are filthy and unhygienic. Gross. No one behind the counter has a clue of what's going on or how to operate this place. If I could give this place a negative 10 I would. Worst place I've ever eaten a meal in my life. Do not go here. Do not waste your money here.
google avatar

Divyashree R.

Yelp
The food at this Centre is far better than the one in Jersey city. Although the customer service is a little off here. Dabeli wasn't that great. We liked the pain puri and Dahi puri a lot. Pav bhaji was good too. Their sweet section was my favorite. The kaju katli was mouth watering.

Satleen B.

Yelp
Always good food especially their paneer butter masala which is almost as good as one gets in delhi . The paneer at times can be hard (I guess most use the mediocre brand Nanak) but that's an issue with most Indian restaurants except Bikanerwala. Highly recommended still for the overall food esp their chaats which r outstanding

Yelp
This review is long overdue...started coming here 12 months back and every-time we have come here, we have had a stellar experience. I have brought out of town friends, my parents and everybody really enjoyed the food here. We have tried a lot of things off the menu and some of our favorites are Chole Bhature, Saag and Maki Roti, Raj Kachori and Gol gappas. They have an extensive menu and is vegetarian only. Last few times we came here, we got to experience the great service offered by one of the employees 'Shahid', he took really good care of us and helped us choose the food from the menu given folks in my party had food allergies (lactose intolerant, nuts allergy). He went out of his way to make sure we were being taken by the serving staff, shout out to the staff and Shahid for such an amazing experience. Overall a great spot and worth driving all the way from JC downtown!!

Challa K.

Yelp
The takeout sweets are delicious but service was very slow and rude. I waited 5 minutes and the lady completely ignored me. The tables were dirty and the restaurant has construction going on. I will not return. There are also no labels on sweets so no idea what is what. Poorly organized restaurant.

Yelp
We went to Mithaas earlier this week and am writing this review for awareness by other patrons. The reasons for the 1 star (maybe 1.5 stars) are as follows: 1. Food: Overall food taste is decent but nothing great 2. Price: Overpriced with low value for money (small / mid sized portions) 3. Key Issues (written to build awareness): - Restaurant asks you to pay your bill without actually giving you the paper bill to review the items. If you formally request it, they bring you paper bill AFTER you have paid it on their hand held payment device. - Restaurant auto charges 15% gratuity BUT doesn't tell you. Because they don't give you the paper bill in advance, you effectively don't know about this charge and end up double tipping (as did we - we gave the waiter the tip in cash). We even asked if service charge was included and were told 'No'. Furthermore, the waiter told us that tips paid via credit cards are kept by the management vs given to the staff. - Restaurant / waiter messed up our order whereby they gave us three (3) wrong dishes (and then fixed it after we complained). However, the restaurant charged us for all 6 of the dishes even though it was their fault. We could not validate until later because as mentioned they don't give the paper bill in advance to review. The first two issues, are rampant at all the of restaurants owned by the group that manages them (ie ming, moghul, moghul express, Bakke shop, etc) across ALL NJ establishments (ie Edison, North Brunswick, etc), which I confirmed after speaking to others. We, as patrons, need to be aware of this and not let them bilk us....I hope this info is usual to you as you make your next dining decision.

Yelp
I've been here several times and seemed to have enjoyed it more in the past.. maybe I've had an overdose of chaat and Mithaas? The chaat platter - 5 different chaats: bhel, sev puri, dahi puri, papdi chaat, pani puri - was just okay. The quantity seemed to be lesser than what we have had before.. the puris of the pani puri were way too big and the pani was way too spicy. The bhel and sev puri were just okay. The dahi puri and the papdi chaat were good. The masala chaas was yummy!!
google avatar

Meena E.

Yelp
We ordered Sev Puri, Tandoori Paneer Tikka , Pav Bhaji and Chole Bhature. Everything was excellent. Would highly recommend Paneer Tikka Sizzler!
google avatar

Farah K.

Yelp
In truth this place is probably a 3.5 more than a 3. If it was just for the food alone I would have given it a 4. Firstly if you are getting their on Saturday be prepared to fight for table space. You see a dirty unclaimed table? Claim it and flag down someone afterwards to come and wipe it down for you. You want to order your food? Which line are you in? The food line? The line for the sweets order? Who knows? It's bedlam here. The food itself is good. We got some thalis to share (2 people can easily share one thali) and tried some dahi batata puri, which was really good and easily my favorite. We took some sweets to go as well, and the jalebis I tried were good, but not super hot and fresh. Also a tad bit too syrupy and sweet for my taste. All in all, it's good for out of towners once in a while. I don't know that I'd like battling the masses for a chance to eat grub, like it was a gladiatorial match. The people who worked there were friendly; just if better care was put into organizing things it would be great.
google avatar

S S.

Yelp
Food: we ordered a lot of chat dishes to try out. The Raj Kachori and the Dahi batata puri were the best. The pani puri was disappointing because the puris were not fresh or crisp. Service: The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. they brought the food to your table and cleared the table however, orders were taken at the counter. Ambiance: Can be improved. The order taking wasn't the smoothest. They were very busy and while the person behind the counter was experienced, he wasn't focused on the customer. He was on the phone and taking orders at the same time. The restrooms need to be fixed. I am always amazed how some of these places pass inspection. There was no toilet paper or paper towels. We did inform someone however, they were not refilled.
google avatar

Kartik K.

Yelp
Average run of the mill stuff. Compared to some of the chaat places in the SF Bay Area like Viks chaat house etc this is pretty sub par

Payal M.

Yelp
The service is is not good. I was the second customer in this morning. The person ahead me took an incredibly long time and there was no acknowledgment of me or my waiting. Okay fine. While I might be impatient, I understand. However, then he says what do you want. There is no professionalism in the service and incredibly rude. Don't think I am coming back.
google avatar

Karthikeyan R.

Yelp
If you ask what's the best place to have Chaat in the USA, I'd vote this place hands down. I've always heard great things about this place and we decided to try this out right after we moved to NJ. They have a plethora of menu options to choose from that you will need to make at least 10-12 trips to cover them all. We ordered a Bhel Puri, Gujarati Thali and Paav Bhaaji. The order was process was quite quick with a faster checkout and the order was served in no time. The taste was out of the world, true to its testimony. The food was so authentic and the quantity was best on money, even if not for a lot of portion that one can expect for two people. We carried out the Badam milk that's the best you can get anywhere in the world. If you are here in NJ, make sure you are trying out this place!

Yelp
Pit stop from Phily to Scarsdale. Target was to pick up some kachori and sweets and get a quick bite - sev puri and stuff. The sev puri was so so but the cachori chaat was amazing - though too much dahi. So the wife wants a thaali but we opted for roti and black daal which I said I would share. This was unbelievable! I actually ended up eating way more than I thought I would. The combination with the chilies and onions was excellent and tasted like home food. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Gave 2 stars because I cannot deny I like their food and love their sweets. But for the weekend visit it was such a disappointing experience. Idk what went wrong or must I say everything. As usual weekend me and my family expected Mithas to be fully crowded which was not a surprise for us. When we went in, it took us 5 min to figure out where to order? People were crowded everywhere- at the counter and ordering from ables. By the way all table were full. Once we finally found a spot after 10min of entering, we had to hold the dirty table so no one else takes the spot. The cleaning guy came after another 5min. To top it all he kept taking away dirty dishes one by one. Take one plate go back to kitchen - keep it and come again for another. Our reaction was.... can't he stack as much as he can. Then he cleaned the table with a wet dirty cloth. It was not at all sanitized. After that came another guy who took our order one by one. Said the system was down and asked if you are paying by cash then only he will take the order. What the hell!! Please keep a table number tag on all tables and a book to write so u don't mess up the order.. Despite all the my husband doing ordered some menu- 2 starters, 2 thali and Chole bhature... since every table seemed to have ordered Chole bhature the server messed and gave it to all but us and we kept waiting. Only when ppl on table behind us also complained that they were not serving on first come first serve basis- they started working in order. Once again we were served everything but chole bhature. Finally my little one started crying after 2hrs of waiting and delayed messed up serving we decided to again ask what is wrong with the order for Chole bhature. By this time only 5-6 tables were filled and the crowd was less. They said we served you chole bhature and tea already and preparations your bills. At this moment we were done with patiently waiting so finally cancelled the "chole bhature". By the way chole bhature and tea was ordered by a couple on the table left to us.

Yelp
If you are in Edison NJ area, you must visit Mehtani Way. Apart from several Restaurants, you will find this nice place called "Mithaas" which in Indian language means "Sweetness". Mithaas offers some of the best authentic Indian food and snacks. Its mostly north Indian street food as well as many other varieties including thalis aka platters. They have some mouth watering chaats and traditional sweets. This place is pure vegetarian. Few things to keep in mind about this place: This is not sit-in restaurant so don't accept 5 star service as you have to order on counter and the server will deliver the food on your table. Not all the ordered food will come in at once, they will bring things on table as soon as they are ready. Make sure, whatever you order do check it is served on the table or you have to remind the server. This place can get overcrowded on the weekends so choose the time which is between meals, opening the rooms in the rear has helped a bit.

Yelp
Call before you go. They are supposed to open at 11:00. It's 11:15 and we are still sitting outside in the car and the doors are locked! Ridiculous!

Overpriced, understaffed, mediocre food quality. Had to wait more than 50 minutes for something that should be ready in 5 minutes, it's under street menu. Prices are too expensive while the quality and flavors are just okay.

Yelp
I picked up mithai from here to celebrate the birth of my baby girl and they have a huge selection while also being very safe with covid etc. Highly recommend

Yelp
Terrible service. Clearly overwhelmed and distracted staff. Food quality was inconsistent across dishes, and there is no organization or proper protocol for seating guests. First come first, so get ready for fight for a plate of food and a place to sit.

Yelp
We went to Mithaas on a recommendation from a friend. We had come all the way from Ohio and were excited to eat some authentic Indian food. The timings online showed that they were open until 22.30 pm while the timings on the door showed that their timings are until 11pm. We reached at their door at about 9.30 pm. When we attempted to open the door, one person working at the restaurant literally shooed us away with his hand gestures. He did not even have the courtesy to come out and let us know that they were shut for the day. We had heard great things about Mithaas but it looks like good business has made them arrogant. While I would refrain from commenting about a particular restaurant's food quality and taste since it is relative, bad customer service needs to be called out. There is nothing meetha about Mithaas!

Yelp
I am from CT and I crave for Indian chats, and where do we go? Our Little India in East Coast - New Jersey, and start exploring places that offer Indian chat, and we stumbled upon this hidden place in Edison - Mithas. Wonderful food, fresh, and mouth watering. The place maintains a simple menu and offers the best taste. They serve their customers with a smile, even though they had a huge queue. Order it and the food is served at your table. Mithas keep up the good work, and we will be visiting more! We had visited Mithas Piscataway during our earlier visit, and we had very much similar experience. Thank You for serving your customers well

Yelp
Not coming back here. This is the first time I came to eat at this branch. I ordered roomali roti with vegetable keema. Got burnt rotis first time, informed the server she changed it. The second time got more burnt rotis. Food smelt so bad and tasted the worst. I want to throw up. This branch is really very unmanaged. I asked the server (Kushal) who brought my food for mint sauce and never got it. I see him around doing nothing. Also, the other staff is unwelcoming with no smile. Suggestion for the branch- you need motivated staff badly. Suggestions for customers- ignore this branch go to the one in Picastaway.
