The menu is super original and everything looked so good that I couldn’t choose just one so I grabbed a bit of everything. And wow, the cakes, parfaits, mousses, and brownies were all even better than I expected! The flavors are perfectly balanced, not too sweet but so rich and flavorful, and you can tell each item is made with care. I’m definitely getting a whole cake here for my next birthday!

Google
mittens is such a great cafe, i love coming here and feel so lucky that i live nearby! the pastries are so unique and delicious, the drinks are great as well, made with care and not overly sweet. i’d recommend the shikuwasa soda or a hojicha latte. for desserts try the warabi mochi (it has a nice sweet sauce poured over it) and the ube tart (so pretty)!

Christian Martin

Google
Their pastries and cakes are awesome! You’ll have to order a few days in advance for a whole cake, though. Staff are very friendly, too!

Michelle Chan

Google
One of my favorite bakeries in Seattle! Small and cute spot with a great variety of Japanese-style desserts and drinks. The staff are really nice too. Easy to find street parking.

Google
Love it love it!!!! So glad Seattle finally has a decent Japanese bakery! Tried four different kinds of bakery including the peach cake. Everything is not overly sweet, has strong flavors of ingredients, and tastes FRESH!! I am planning to try other cakes and sandwiches next time. Simply amazing!

Ed Younskevicius

Google
I want highlight something that the other reviews don’t seem to have covered — the sandwiches. They’re amazing, probably the best I’ve had in Seattle. (And I’ve tried a lot of them!) Don’t sleep on the sandwiches here! EDIT: Specifically, I mean the turkey sandwich. I’m not as big a fan of the ham sandwich. I think the pesto on the turkey sandwich makes a big difference, personally.

Google
This is definitely one of my top 5 cafes. The food/drinks and vibes definitely give Japan. Service was also impeccable. I can’t wait to try more of their desserts.

Google
Dreamy little Japanese French bakery that boasts freshly made cake, financiers, muffins, fruit tarts and more... in quality matcha 抹茶/まっちゃ, houjicha 焙茶/焙じ茶, yuzu flavours! I'm honestly upset that I only discovered it yesterday - it's very much a Japanese bakery/cafe (beyond just Fuji and Nana's) that Seattle so desperately needs, and felt like stepping into a regular bakery in Kobe. Everything is aesthetically pleasing, from packaging/signage to decor, and there's often small portions available for gifting or larger sizes for parties / group sharing. Also recommend coming early - I visited around 3pm, and the displays looked like half sold out. By 4pm, most everything was gone. It is a little small (maybe 7+ seats) so it's better as a pickup/to-go spot. But I could see it being lovely as a little intimate, catch up place for friends! Can't wait to come back to this cute and elegant bakery asap!!!!

Yelp
I LOVE Mittens! It's been such a great addition to the central area. The yuzu lemon cake is my absolute favorite (I'm biased towards citrus flavors)! Don't miss out on their Father's Day box this weekend! Features: Seattle cake (espresso & orange), pistachio financier, caramel nut tart and more. We stopped by a few days ago and my husband was hesitant at first because there were a lot of items we hadn't tried and he didn't think he would enjoy it, but guess what? The caramel nut tart and passion fruit marshmallow turned out to be his favorites! It's fun to pick out a treat to try each day. The caramel coffee jelly was speaking to me this time and I'm so glad I finally tried it. If you love caramel coffee drinks, you should definitely try this!

Yelp
Always friendly and helpful customer service. I can't help but always get the Shikuwasa soda when I visit. Grabbed a late lunch yesterday before an event tried the salmon quiche the arugula salad was a nice surprise I thought I was only going to get a slice of quiche. was delicious and just what I needed. Limited indoor seating with a few stools at counters. They do have a couple tables outside you can enjoy your treats at. Always enjoy stopping by when I'm near. Also picked up a warabi mochi and a hojicha tiramisu for a friend

Yelp
I've gotten several things here, including two birthday cakes, and every single item I have gotten here has been an absolute delight. The cream puffs are my go-to, the chocolate gateau is a decadent treat, and I cannot foresee myself wanting a birthday cake from anywhere else ever again. The storefront itself is a small, but airy, and well decorated place. There are a few tables out front, and a few seats indoors. I've generally gotten my goodies to go, and they have held up fine, even if not eaten until hours later (which is probably not what they recommend). The staff have been very friendly every time I've gone. It is a pricey treat, not an every-day place to stop, although I would love it if I was in a situation to make this an everyday stop. The taste and textures of their goodies, and the friendly staff, absolutely make up for the price in my opinion, but I'd rather pay more for excellent pastries, than pay less for mediocre ones.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Their peach cake was incredibly delightful, the cake overall isn't too sweet, layers of cake and cream are perfectly balanced in portion and the peaches are very fresh. This is going to be my summer staple! I can't wait to come back already and check out the rest of their expansive selection of pastries and dine in next time.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
The hojicha latte was great, I did request for it to be lightly sweetened which was the perfect way to have it. They have so many sweet treats it was hard deciding what I wanted. French pastries with a Japanese twist. I tried the matcha gateau which is like a dense pound cake, not my favorite texture but the matcha flavor was very pronounced and it paired well with tea or coffee. It's on the pricier side but it's well worth it because of the attention to detail and quality. Will definitely be back! FYI, only street parking nearby
google avatar

Yen D.

Yelp
Quick service. Was impressed with the offerings. Yuzu flavor paired well with the chocolate and the shikawasa soda was unique yet pleasant.

Yelp
I REALLY wanted to like this place, but I really got SO many items and all but one were a complete miss for me. What makes that extra sad is that the items here are extremely pricy and I just think a bad product at that price is a real bummer. Black Sesame Cube Donut (1.75/5): This isn't a donut; it's a dense, dry muffin, not a fluffy dough at all. The black sesame inside is a grainy paste baked in rather than a cream. Flavor is fine, but misleading and not the best mouthfeel. Vanilla Cream Puff (2.75/5): The shell I got was stale in spite of the fact that they fill it to order, which is a real shame because the cream inside has a fantastic, luscious texture and strong vanilla flavor. On top of that, it's 8 bucks and just made me wish I had Beard Papa's instead. Yuzu Cheesecake (4/5): Best item I tried: great tart flavor, but I actually wish there was more cheese flavor or even just creaminess in it. Super smooth all the way through and melt in your mouth. Kyoto (1.75/5): The flavors aren't bad, but the textures are ROUGH. Insanely dense, dry cake with ganache so thick it's a brick. This is just not my favorite. Acceptable with tea. Hojicha Financier (0.5/5): I love financiers and this was SOOO DRY. Like genuinely chewing sand in a block shape.

Yelp
I thought Mitten Sweets was going to be bakery that specializes in baked goods from the mitten shaped state-of-the-Michigan... I wasn't disappointed though. An Asian inspired little bakery that makes incredible tarts, cakes and things! As it is asian inspired none of the things are overly sweet. My favorite standard item is the ube tart! Just enough sweetness without going overboard. Today, also tried the orange tart and it was also amazing! I have not tried the coffee here but they sell beans from Cambria roasters which is one of my favorites. The location itself is in an out of the way place, tucked away next to the Seattle U. Athletics fields so its easy to miss! Check them out!

Yelp
I visited again recently and am still such a fan! They have more food offerings than the last time I visited and also some different drinks too that appear to change seasonally! We had a caramel coffee jelly drink which was so good! Not too sweet (the caramel balanced well with the coffee jelly). I had the Koto last time (hojicha) so this time opted for the Kyoto -- same thing but strawberry matcha flavor. Sooo good! We also got the warabi mochi which was enjoyable as well. They've made some improvements to the interior to make it a bit more comfortable/home-y) which is nice! I still need to order a cake from here. Kind of glad this isn't closer to me or I'd be here every day!

Yelp
adorable spot that offers coffee, sandwiches and sweets! the baked goods selection is super interesting with yuzu, macha, sesame and more mainstream flavors. i took my order to go but there's room for probably two parties of 2 people inside and there's also a small table or two outside. super tasty delights and in walking distance to s.u. and other medical offices in the vicinity. my pro tip would be to eat at peloton and then hit up mittens for a sweet treat afterwards.
google avatar

Renee S.

Yelp
One of my favorite bakeries! I love the sweetness level of all the desserts here. The cakes are super fluffy, I love the airiness of the cream puffs, and the creaminess of all the fillings.
google avatar

Haley L.

Yelp
The desserts here are some of the best I've had! I've come on a couple occasions and tried a few things on the menu, even ordered a Yuzu Cheesecake for an event. The Yuzu Cheesecake was perfectly sweet and had a very strong yuzu flavor but is very fitting for the season. I also love their matcha lattes, which have a strong matcha, earthy flavor. The staff are friendly and you can enjoy your desserts inside. I'd recommend coming and trying some of their desserts or drinks!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic Japanese flavors and friendly, prompt service. Decorated super cute, this inviting cafe gives local vibes that won't disappoint!

Yelp
I visited this cute bakery in first hill on a rainy sunday and it definitely satisfied my sweet treat craving! The space inside is small, but there's a good variety of drink and dessert options! They even do specialty cakes for special occasions. I ended up getting two slices of cake; the kyoto, which is a matcha cake with strawberry ganache, and the koto which is a hojicha with hojicha ganache ($12.91 for both). They both looked dense but weren't dry and I think I preferred the matcha more! I wish the filling was creamier but I still enjoyed both. I love how this is a japanese-french bakery so they have flavors like yuzu and matcha. I would be interested in coming back!

Yelp
Came here to catch up with a friend over some drinks and pastries! Just fyi parking is pretty limited around the area so be prepared to walk a few blocks, even on a weekday! The store itself is pretty small with a handful of seats bar style. There was a big glass display of all their Asian inspired baked goods which all looked really yummy! I ended up getting the hojicha latte and my friend got the matcha while chocolate latte. The hojicha latte was really good and had a nice strong tea flavor. I also got the blueberry coconut cake which had good flavor but the texture was more dense than I expected. Cute cafe overall but the only thing I would note is they kept their front door open the whole time so it was pretty cold the whole time we were there. They had a netting that I'm assuming keeps out flies and stuff but strange they didn't have the door closed.
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
The cafe is pretty small, but cute interior. A few tables outside so perfect to go when it is sunny out! There was no line when we went around 2pm on a Sunday. Some of the tables were taken outside. I got the shikuwasa soda (citrus sparkling drink)! It was very refreshing and enjoyed it under the 70 degree weather. We also tried the matcha bateau(?). It was pretty good, nothing too special or amazing about it. Would come back on a sunny day when I'm looking to get a refreshing beverage or a hojicha latte!
google avatar

Yelp
Mitten is a warm and inviting cafe with plenty of plants, cute gnomes, and delicious treats! We had the iced hojicha latte, ube pie, Kyoto matcha and strawberry cake, and the strawberry fresh cream cake. All of their pastries are delicious -- I wish I tried the shortbread too! While there aren't tables, there's a few counter seats and some outdoor tables. It might not be a spot you go to work, but it's enough to enjoy your treats and drinks with a beautiful view. The service is super friendly and helpful too. Definitely worth a trip!
google avatar

Nora J.

Yelp
Cute small bakery in the First Hill area! I had such a hard time to decide what i wanted to get because all of their desserts looked yummy and inviting. Ended up getting an ube tart, matcha cake with red bean, and hojicha cake. Absolutely loved the hojicha and matcha cake. I got a hojicha latte and it reminded me of the ones I got in Japan, so delicious. I loved the plants and how welcoming the bakery was. There's only a few seats inside (probably 5) but they have a few tables outside too

Yelp
Absolutely enjoyed our quick stop at Mitten! It is such a quaint and lovely little place for sweets filled with Japanese flavors. Everything looked so appealing but we had to settle on a select few. Our favorites were the Chestnut Cake and Koto (hojicha cake). They are packed with flavor. Aside from their unique flavored sweets, they also do custom whole cakes which would make for a lovely treat for any event or party. We are looking to come back another time to satisfy our sweet tooth!
google avatar

Maggie L.

Yelp
Delicate baked good with an Asian twist. I love the music being played in the store! I tried the Ube Tart ($8, real ube or purple sweet potato with subtle flavor, noticeably cinnamon, the crust is delicious) and the Peach Cake ($8.5 seasonal special, fresh peach that is flavorful but a bit tart, soft and moist cake). A bit pricey, I will enjoy as an occasional treat.
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I had this place bookmarked for ages and finally got to try it. Looking through the reviews, I must've ordered the wrong things. I got an orange tart and soufflé cheesecake with berry sauce. Both desserts were good (cheesecake was super light, orange tart was fine) but definitely not like $8 a slice good. I think maybe I should've heated it up? I came towards the later half of the day so everything was cold. I really wanted to like it because I'm a sucker for Asian desserts. However if the price is not an issue and you're craving some pastries and live nearby, then this place is okay to check out.
google avatar

Maha A.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend grabbing a few pastries and sharing them with friends, they are generous in size and you'd obviously want to try so many bc they have a huge selection. We got the Ube tart, It was beautiful and the tart itself was great. I will say in terms of actual Ube flavor it's very very mild, only a hint of anything. It was good, but I wouldn't expect true Ube flavor from It. The strawberry shortcake was so pillowy and soft, so so decadent and would love to get that again!
google avatar

Jboogie L.

Yelp
One of the better Hojicha latte's I had in a while. It is pricey at around $5.70/cup. The yuzu cheesecake was slightly disappointing for me. It wasn't that cheesy and bit too sweet. Cute shop near Seattle U and Swedish Cherry Hill.

Yelp
Mitten Sweets & Coffee Japanese bakery is one of my favorite local businesses. It's conveniently across the street from Seattle University and has a homey, charming vibe. They switch out some of their menu items seasonally, so be sure to stop in during the fall for their kabocha pastry. The pastries tend to be on the sweet side, whereas their cakes are less so. My favorite things to order have been... - Hot coffee (5/5): great value, not super sour tasting like a few other coffee shops. - Warabimochi (4/5): I could not for the life of me find warabimochi anywhere in Seattle until here. It comes in the cutest cup and is generously coated with brown sugar sauce, kinako powder, and comes with a pat of red bean and vivid green edamame paste. It's beautifully presented and reminds me of warabimochi I've enjoyed in Japan. Make sure you allow the mochi to warm up to room temp a bit before eating for optimal texture. - Orange tart (5/5): I don't usually care for citrus pastries, but it was too pretty to not order. It was a delicious pairing with the unsweetened hot coffee. - Savory pastries (4/5): I think I ordered a ham and cheese (forgot). Not particularly memorable but it was delicious! I do want to order one of their whole cakes someday (SO uniquely decorated and pretty), but you have to place an order at least 3 days ahead of time. Keep that in mind for your next party where you want to impress with a non-85º bakery cake. This cafe is not ideal for studying as there's 4 bar seats only and 1-2 tables outside. It's great if you're looking for a morning pick me up, or a quick mid-day bite. Always enjoy my visits here, would highly recommend.

Yelp
A little hidden neighborhood gem of a bakery. Our friend told us this was one of his favorite bakeries in Seattle. It was a warm day when we stopped by. There isn't indoor seating but they do have hightop counters if you want to stand and eat/drinks your items. Service was friendly. It did take a little longer for our drinks to be made but they were very refreshing and worth waiting for on a hot day. Items we tried - - orange tart - this was our friend's favorite and it was very tasty - apple pastry - very solid pastry and tasty - warabi mochi cup - my friend and husband enjoyed but I thought the warabi mochi texture was off. I like mine a little more chewy. - hojicha cake - from the look I thought it was going to be dry but was pleasantly surprised it had a melt in your mouth ganache sort of texture. This was my husband's favorite! Overall, a nice modern little bakeshop. I'd like to try more of their items in the future!

Yelp
This is a 4.5 review but I want to try their cake first before rounding it up to 5 star :) We were in the area and so we decided to try this place out. It's not in the most obvious area so you definitely need to to seek it out. The place itself is pretty small so mostly take out. The display has a lot of Wonderful and unique treats that I wanted to try but I had to control myself hahaha. We ended up getting: Cinnamon apple pie - similar to an apple turnover, flaky, good amount of sweetness Yuzu lemon cake - dense cake but not dry and very flavorful Black sesame/red bean baked donut --- very interesting combo and similar texture of the lemon cake but maybe a little denser but very addicting flavor Edamame danish - like a cruffin, the edamame is subtle but there, I like this one a lot The lady who helped us was very nice. She answered all of our questions. Price is standard. My only critique is the naming of the pastries, they are a little a little misleading so we had to ask a lot of questions to clarify. Overall though, pastries were yummy and I really want to try one of their cake :)

Yelp
We love Mitten Sweets - all of our family celebration cakes are ordered from there. Their bakes are mildly sweet, which is our cultural preference (we're Asian). The cakes are fluffy, soft, light as a feather, and so are the frostings/decorative elements. The fruit garnishes are always in peek freshness/appearance, too. Our go-to orders are the traditional soufflé Japanese cheesecake, and the chocolate cake with fresh strawberry filling. The only cake that we've ordered that wasn't 100 percent to our liking was the matcha one - it is intensely vegetal (and we generally love matcha). But otherwise, everything from this bakery is A+.

Xueyi D.

Yelp
The Bacon Tomato Pie is very delicious. Definitely will buy again. 10/10 The Chocolate Strawberry Cake is a little bit too sweet from an Asian point of view, but the inside strawberry and moist sponge are tasty. Love it! 7/10
google avatar

Vitalina K.

Yelp
Ordered an almond milk matcha with honey and their caramel pear croissant. Drink 5/5. Love that their matcha is high quality and not pre-sweetened. Their croissant was the perfect balance of flavor, buttery, and flakiness 5/5. Their customer service is good too, super sweet people. Would def come again!
google avatar

Joyce M.

Yelp
Ordered a birthday cake, and it was a fantastic choice! We went for the 6-inch strawberry cake, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The cake is light, not too sweet, and has this wonderfully refreshing taste. Perfect for a birthday celebration - definitely a hit with everyone. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazingly delicious and unique baked goods with welcoming vibe. I fell in love with the custard cream puff and I'm still dreaming about it, it has the most custard I've ever seen and it's the fresh, delicious, quality type of custard. I grew up eating custard tarts and puffs so it's nostalgic for me. It has always been a favorite of mine. I'm soooo here for it! Must return soon! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Diana X.

Yelp
Pastries here are amazing! Asian style with unique twists I haven't seen in other bakeries in the area. I love that it's close to Cap Hill too. Will be back to try the beverages.
google avatar

Jun Li Z.

Yelp
Food I absolutely adore the turkey bell pepper pie ($6) and would try their other pies and cakes. Their pie is fresh and warm in the morning. Ambiance Cute casual and quiet with light and after music that's not too loud Service Friendly server with warm smile
google avatar

Nayoung W.

Yelp
Cute small shop in the outskirts of CapHill. Unique Asian desserts that are not too sweet, perfect. Loved their selection and drinks. If you follow them on Insta they will give you free matcha ice cream. Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Arlene S.

Yelp
My first thought as I was walking in, it is a super cute shop. I was greeted by a variety of pastries that looked amazing! I got a few sliced cakes, matcha gateau, and their cube donuts. Overall, I like the flavors and a great way to incorporate Japanese ingredients into French pastries. Most of the items I got were dense so definitely very filling but also heavier than I expected. I wish there were table seatings to enjoy the cakes and pastries.
google avatar

Kristina T.

Yelp
A cute cafe tucked nearby Seattle U! Easy to get to riding the street car as well, making it worthwhile and more convenient to get to. I ordered a pineapple grapefruit drink and the edamame danish! The pineapple grapefruit was refreshing, but wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor (although I love love pineapple + grapefruit). However, the edamame danish was delicioussss and was rather shocked by how much I enjoyed it! Would love to try the other pastries at this location as they had a sizeable range of creative items inspired by Asian flavors!

Laura T.

Yelp
Thanks so much to the staff for making my custom order cake! Misato worked with me patiently through email back and forth and carefully noted all of the details I asked for. Although it was a bit pricey, I received exactly what I asked for and the cake was absolutely delicious! I've ordered other custom cakes that fall short either in looks or taste (or both), so I'm really happy to continue ordering from Mitten Sweets! Note: I added the ribbons and cherry candles myself
google avatar

Allison A.

Yelp
This was my first time going here myself and it was so cute in there! This Japanese bakery has so many unique flavors that you can't find much of in seattle! The staff was so friendly and had recommendations for us when we asked because there were so many options that all looked so good! We ended up getting a bunch of them to try and each item was so delicious, but my favorite was probably the one she recommended which was the matcha baked cake, it had red bean inside and a crumbly exterior!
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
welcoming environment and friendly staff right when you walk in. the woman working at the counter was very helpful and offered her suggestions, one of which was the yuzu cake and matcha cake. both were delicious! everything in the pastry case had unique flavors, many of which are Asian inspired flavors. a great place to pick up a quick pastry to go. the only downside is that there is no seating and drinks and pastries are to go only.

Yelp
Weird fate happens. I have been eyeing mitten cafe for a long time and have been dying to try out their patisserie. On Saturday afternoon, I almost decided to drive up to the Cafe, but I just could not. So I settled on pre packaged cake from uwajimaya, and I absolutely loved this souffle cheesecake. It is sweet enough, light and still have the cheesecake taste afterwards. As I finished my last bite of the cake, I closed rhe container and there js a sticker of mitten!!!! All these times, the cakes I was buying from uwajimaya was from mitten-s!!!! I am definitely going to try to get to Mitten to try other cakes that is not pre packaged at uwajimaya!!

Yelp
I was familiar with Pastry Mitten from various treats purchased via Uwajimaya. But it seems, they have found a new home this past month as Mitten Sweets & Coffee in Seattle's Central District neighborhood transitioning from their Tukwila production site. A very pleasant spot for Seattle University students and staff and also a decent walk from nearby First Hill and Capitol Hill neighborhoods. Hopefully this will be third time's the charm at this site, formerly Happy Grillmore and Cakes & Trees. I had the opportunity to stop by Sunday afternoon (11/13/22). I liked that there were some lush foliage in the front windows of their retail site. Maybe gifted from the former owner of Cakes & Trees? Upon entering the retail site, one is greeted by a very enticing pastry case and welcoming counter person. Maybe the owner? There's some counter space but no available onsite seating. Nice pastry production area with lots of natural light, seeing other staff focused on various tasks. I ended up buying a slice each of their chocolate and matcha gateaux, each lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Reminded me of flourless dense cakes from other area cafes, restaurants, and ones I've baked in the past. Later back at home, shared and sampled each cake slice with The Homie. Moist interior, crackly exterior top, on point and not overly sweet which I greatly appreciated. I look forward to additional visits to explore their other savory and sweet baked items.

Yelp
I really enjoyed everything I got at Mitten and would definitely come again! I ordered the ube tart, matcha gateau, and the hojicha latte. My favorite was the ube tart. The ube was velvety and the ube flavor really came through; it might be one of my favorite ube pastries I've ever had. The tart crust was a bit hard in my opinion but it was still flaky. I think they also add some pumpkin underneath the ube and it pairs nicely. The matcha gateau was not too sweet and was cakey but soft. The hojicha latte was a nice complement to the pastries as it was hot, slightly bitter, and had the subtle taste of hojicha. I also really loved the vibes of this place: cozy aesthetics and they were playing lofi. My only gripe was that there was no indoor seating, though there were two standing tables where you could eat.
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
I first found out about Pastry Mitten after seeing her cute little mitten logo on some pudding being sold at Uwajimaya. I absolutely loved the pudding, so I've been a fan since then. So it's particularly exciting that she's opened up a brick and mortar in Capitol Hill! It's mostly a grab-and-go place - don't expect to sit down and eat inside the shop. In addition to an assortment of pastries, they sell seasonal items (like pudding) and various drinks. You can also order a cake if you give them 4-days of notice. Go check Pastry Mitten out!
google avatar

Edna C.

Yelp
Disclaimer: This review is based on a small box of hojicha shortbread that I stumbled across at Uwajimaya I hesitated because there was no pricing, but one does not simply put a box of locally handmade hojicha shortbread back on the shelf and walk away. (Plus, how can you say no the adorably named "Pastry Mitten"?!) The shortbread cookies survived the flight home, and omg it ranks among the best cookies I've ever had in my lifetime T-T The deep roasty hojicha flavors really shine through, complemented by subtle sweetness. It's also just the right amount of indulgence: mildly buttery and deliciously thick. Pair with coffee and it's magic. I read up a little about Pastry Mitten, and the owner/chef trained in culinary school, worked in Kyoto, and incorporates Japanese and French baking techniques. Best of all worlds. Can't wait to try more masterpieces at Mitten Sweets & Coffee next time I'm in Seattle!

Yelp
The store was tucked away on a smaller street near Seattle U and had the cutest French-Japanese inspired pastries! My friend and I tried the koto, a hojicha based cake, and the kinako cube donut with red bean. I loved the koto and would highly recommend that! It looked dry but was really moist and dense. It almost reminded me a bit of a brownie. I will be back to try more of their desserts!

Amazing bakery! Mittens bakery consistently has high quality desserts and pastries, with very reasonable pricing. The desserts are constantly rotating, but they have all been wonderfully balanced. Not too sweet, and always fresh. There is a great tea selection here as well. I'll be returning to Mitten very soon!

Yelp
Great pastries! Tried apricot pie and other items. They are not overly sweet. Fruits on the pastries are very fresh. Would love to try their drinks next time for sure!

Yelp
Great cheesecake and baked goods! I got a variety of things (see photo) and every single one of them was really good. Not too sweet, great with coffee. Will be visiting more often

Yelp
I stumbled upon Mitten Bakery when I went to Peloton (also great!) next door. For some reason, I hadn't seen it before on Yelp or get recommended on food blogs that I follow. I have seen some of their items at PCC, but I didn't realize they had a physical store front and that the shop would be so cute. I was really impressed with the wide assortment of Asian-inspired desserts. There was a great range of items, a lot of them with a matcha version. Their matcha desserts are very flavorful and impactful. Some of the desserts had textures that I didn't quite expect, such as the matcha cake with the crumb on top. For some reason since it looked like a muffin/cupcake, I thought it would be light but it was dense. With that said, it was still delicious and I enjoyed it, but maybe ask some more questions if you do care about texture. Overall, I'm highly impressed. Partially because this spot doesn't have any hype or attention (from what I have seen) but it totally deserves it. If you gift an assortment of these to any matcha or desser loving friend, you will be cherished.
