"The Gifu Prefecture–born owner-chef uses his restaurant to showcase the crafts and foodstuffs of his native region. Born to a family that runs a pottery studio in Tajimi, he serves his dishes on Mino-ware vessels he made himself. Eels are beloved by the locals as they are thought to provide the stamina to overcome the famously sweltering heat of Tajimi. A bowl of fragrant grilled unagi on a bed of rice makes a fine end to the meal. A menu replete with delicacies, such as small bowls of caviar and other seafood on rice, crab served in small pots and char-grilled wagyu beef, lifts the spirits." - Michelin Inspector

This is absolutely worth the visit if you are visiting Tokyo! As a foreigner who has been living in Japan for about a year, this restaurant has become my most memorable meal in Tokyo. The food quality is extremely fresh and so delicious. They show you where all of your meat and fish are from and explain each dish in English thoroughly. The server also spoke great english and the environment was very welcoming. You have the joy of watching the chefs prepare the dishes right in front of you. Overall, this will easily be the best meal you have in Tokyo and a must for anyone visiting.

From the moment we arrived, Chef Miyake and his team made us feel incredibly welcome, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The level of hospitality and attention to detail was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The food itself was of the highest grade, clearly sourced with care and precision. Every dish reflected the very best in Japanese culinary tradition, beautifully presented and rich in flavor. The service was nothing short of spectacular — smooth, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but it’s absolutely worth it. This is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Perfect for special occasions or for anyone looking to enjoy the finest Japanese cuisine and top-tier service. The drinks were also excellent, crafted with the same level of quality and finesse as the food — top notch across the board. I would confidently rate every aspect of our visit 5 stars. Thank you, Chef Miyake and team, for making our evening so memorable. Highly, highly recommend.

Best grapes, best uni I have ever had in my life. Every ingredient was unbelievably fresh, from start to finish. The flavors were clean, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The wagyu was absolutely incredible—one of the best I’ve ever tasted, melting in my mouth with rich, buttery perfection. Truly an unforgettable dining experience where every bite spoke of top-quality ingredients and expert preparation.

Miyake Akira was a fabulous dining experience. The minimalist interior with light wood gave it a really clean, peaceful feel. As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and were super welcoming. They explained the process clearly, and it was helpful having a menu in both English and Japanese. Sitting at the counter and watching the chefs prepare everything right in front of us was spectacular. You could really see the attention to detail in every step, it was crafted like art. It was my first time trying sea urchin, and the creamy uni with truffle and hand-rolled udon completely won me over. The wagyu absolutely melted in our mouths, and the unagi was perfectly crispy on the outside while still juicy on the inside. They even showed us the fresh fish swimming in river water before preparing each dish with so much care and precision. Each plate was beautifully presented and full of different flavors, inspired by the season. They also took the time to explain what was in each course and where the ingredients were sourced from. What made the experience stand out even more was how friendly and attentive the staff were! They chatted with us naturally in both English and Japanese and made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. Hearing them laugh and converse with everyone made the environment feel lively even in the intimate setting. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a place that balances great food, atmosphere, and thoughtful service! Thank you for this amazing experience! 🫶🏻

An unforgettable omakase experience. Each dish was beautifully crafted, from the delicate scallop and soft-shelled turtle to the rich Yonezawa Wagyu beef and perfectly grilled unagi.
