Miznon Notting Hill: A New London Restaurant for Pita Master Eyal Shani | Eater London

"An intimate Notting Hill kiosk from chef Eyal Shani opens at 14 Elgin Crescent on 11 November, built around his trademark puffy, airy pita breads and a takeaway-first format. Smaller than the Berwick Street restaurant he opened earlier this year, it will showcase Shani’s London-specific pita creations — including fish-and-chips, an all-day-breakfast version and a cottage-pie twist — alongside the brand’s signature hero dishes, most notably the large whole grilled cauliflower. The concept draws on the Hebrew word for ‘kiosk’ and reflects Shani’s eccentric, fairytale-like enthusiasm for London and Notting Hill’s mysterious streets and characters as inspiration for new pitas." - James Hansen

We went for a family lunch and had mixed feelings, food is great but pricey for small portions. A chicken pitta wrap was 17 quids which is steep. Service is not too bad and nothing great, staff is friendly and busy and it does not warrant a 12.5% service charge. Coming to food: Lamb pita wraps were the best; chicken pita wraps are not too bad; and falafels were dry and doughy. We will most likely not visit again.

Absolutely blown away by the food — every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and truly hit the spot. The hummus was hands down the best I’ve ever had — so creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. The Tatami dessert was a showstopper to end the meal. A big shoutout to Head Chef Yakup for crafting a menu that was loved by everyone at the table. Exceptional food and warm hospitality.

Having been to both the Soho branch and here, it's fantastic. A great modern twist on food from the Mediterranean. Lovely, fun staff, I've never been let down. For people mentioning the price, it's no more or less than any other quality non gourmet eatery in the area.

No frills. Just good food, delicious actually. Love the menu/strip back change up for Miznon Erev. Would definetely recommend. You have to try Yakup’s (the head chef) baklava. It’s ridiculous

A superb restaurant bringing Mediterranean cooking to a new level. The restaurant itself, vibrant, cool and classy. Dim lights, with a recognisable hum of modern twists on classics in the background. The staff? Attentive, caring and knowledgeable. Now the food itself. A sharing concept. We got the challah, aubergine, houmous, Tuna sashimi and Lamb. All of which excellent in their own right. Could not fault any of the dishes apart from the aubergine. Was expecting a babaganoush style dip but instead got a deconstructed concept dish and having to mash up the aubergine ourselves and mix the other ingredients in! - Hence the 4 stars, maybe your thing, but just not ours. We went for a stunning Israeli White - smooth, reasonably priced and just went perfectly with the food. Will definitely come here again, and recommend it to friends.

Had the opportunity of eating at Miznon recently when on a trip to Portobello Road market. Absolutely fabulous food. I had an out-of-the-pita veg meal. So delicious and so healthy! Beautifully prepared and presented. Wonderful staff. Great family restauarant.

Went here with friends who said it was really good, maybe expected too much but although a few parts were good like the hummus overall it was nothing special. Everything seemed a step more bland than anything you'd actually be served in the Middle East. The portions are tiny even allowing for London prices. None of the staff asked how the meal was, not rude, just indifferent. Not good enough for what we paid.

Let me tell you about Miznon real quick. The staff? Probably the nicest people in Portobello without a doubt. No where could even come close! The food? Good portions, good taste; so good I forgot I finished it and thought I left the food at pickup. The organisation? You're getting good service; does not matter what's going on. There is always 100% effort put in by everybody from floor to kitchen. Consistently amazing no matter what. 5 stars is not enough.
