Overall, this meal was very good! I went into it a little hesitant because last time I got the wagyu beef bowl which was still good but didn't live up to expectations. I was also here for breakfast and didn't think it was of much. This time however I got the tempura don and it was amazing.
Tempura bowl 天丼
Comes with miso soup. The tempura is beautiful, skin is light airy and crispy. Sometimes tempura is too thick or soggy or doused in oil which just tastes bad. This one though is delicately fried with barely any oil - it's very good. The insides (shrimp, sweet potato, corn, carrot, lotus) are perfectly cooked. The sauce is light as well and slightly sweet. It's very liquid which helps moisten the fried tempura. The rice is fresh and it's not too dry not too wet.

Breakfast. Needs reservation. I think you can only have breakfast here if you stay at The Ritz Carlton. Reserve rice or congee in advance.
Overall, it's good. The environment is calm and spacious. There's a small beautiful terrace outside. Service is spot on and they accommodate a range of requests. The food isn't outstanding, however.
(1) Starts off with a grape and vinegar shot. If you're not used to Asian flavors (especially Japanese traditional flavors), you're probably not going to like the vinegar drink. They're both good, however
(2) salad
Choice between sesame dressing or Japanese soy dressing. I chose the Japanese soy dressing - light and refreshing. Salad was mostly radish, with a couple cabbage leaves, a broccoli, a cherry tomato and a slice of sweet potato. Everything was good except for the broccoli which was too hard to chew.
(3) breakfast, congee
If you ordered steamed rice, it comes in a large pot (as pictured).
Wow, this is a big breakfast. Looks good.
The best part was probably the tofu dessert (add in honey on the side).
The omelet was good too, but not soft enough and a little too salty.
The fish is flavorful but not fresh enough.
