The parking lot is tight and can get packed during peak hours. Where cars coming out are stuck as cars trying to find spot are in a gridlock. The lunch special is a great deal with lots of dishes to choose from. Portion varies, some dishes are super generous, some dishes are small, some are dishes are average in terms of portions. Since the lunch deal is very affordable we tend to order a few extra dishes instead for more variety. This restaurant can accommodate large groups or big tables so sometimes smaller group will have to wait longer. This is mainly because the larger Chinese group also have seniors most of the time with mobility issues, so the waiting sequence is not always first come first serve. The soup of the day is generous in portions and piping hot. Most customers will take the to go boxes and plastic bag themselves in the shelves with drawers instead of asking for the waiters. Overall, the service can be slow as the number of waiters versus number of tables ratio is quite overwhelmingly understaffed. Even the cashier/manager is working on the floor during peak hours. So be very patient.

Food good. Service good. Ambiance good. However, don't look in the kitchen when walking to the restroom. Came here on Christmas Day with group of seven. It was my first time and the place was big with many tables and booths. The service was good and friendly. We ordered: - Chinese Green in Supreme Soup - Salt Pepper Pork Ribs - Salted w/ Tofu - Fried geoduck - Geoduck veggie mix - Lobster w/ garlic noodles My favorite was the salted chicken w/ tofu - perfect savory sauce on rice. The day was going great until the last moment. As I made my way to the restroom, which was not the greatest cleaning, kitchen is open to look when walking down the hallway. Lets just say I am on fence to go back here after seeing that kitchen. While most of us are not surprised since traditional asian restaurant, kitchen could still be better. Now I'm curious whats really salted in my favorite dish...

My wife and I popped in MJ Valley Restaurant on. Weekday for lunch, a popular Chinese restaurant with a curious name and a long line to match. Their lunch specials are incredibly affordable, with over 100 dishes under $13. My personal favorite is the fried whole fish — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside — and the stir-fried string beans with minced pork, a comforting classic done right. The wait was about 30 minutes, and while service was fast, it wasn’t especially friendly — pretty typical of many traditional Chinese spots. This location has changed hands several times, but hopefully, this version will last. It’s not a huge place, but it seats about 100 and delivers great value for the price. A satisfying reminder that even in a simple meal, there’s grace to be found.

Google
This place has the Trifecta of low prices, big portions and zero as ambiance. Come here if you want decent food at rock bottom pricing. It's loud, crowded and lacks any elegance, but if that's what you want, this place delivers. I came for lunch and they served my black bean fish quickly with unlimited rice, and a huge bowl of broth.. too much for a solo lunch, but at $11.00, it was as cheap as a Mcd's value meal!

Google
Found this gem of a restaurant on Christmas for dinner. We ordered the chicken in black bean sauce and the pan fried lamb chops w basil. Both were outstanding. The lamb chops tasted as good as rack of lamb at a high end restaurant. Smothered in tasty onions and basil for a subtle burst of flavor. The chicken was smothered in black bean sauce with red and green peppers. Delightful!

Google
This is a fairly new Chinese restaurant. We were curious about the mixed reviews and decided to give it a try. The lunch special menu has a wide variety of selection from $9.99 up. We ordered 6 dishes for 5 people and plenty of food left to take home. The food is decent, overall good for typical Chinese food. The preserved veggie with pork belly was the best. The flavor was very authentic using the 南乳(red bean curd) and the pork belly melt in your mouth. I wished there was more preserved veggie that soaked up the flavor, perfect to eat with steam rice.

Google
Not a bad place to go to for some Chinese food. Disclaimer: I only visited here with family and we had an entire set course dinner menu, so it's not a typical experience. But the service was great and the food was pretty good overall. One downside is that the parking lot is quite small, so if you come during peak hours, you might not find a parking spot. You would have to find a spot on the street or another alternative. The interior is also a bit cramped; seems like they tried to cram as many tables and chairs as possible to maximize the limited space they have. But overall, the food was good, the service was great, and I would come back here again.

Google
All of the dishes were on “lunch special” menu ranging from $9.99 to $11.99. All their dishes are good except the lamb with ginger&scallion. Lobster $19.99/lb King crab $45.99/lb

Yelp
Background On Visit: Drove past the restaurant countless of times and told myself that the next vacation day I get, I'll patronize the shop for their special lunch... and so I did. Credit Cards: Credit cards are accepted. Restrooms: Restrooms are available to be used. Visitation Rights: Twice for special lunch. Location/Parking: Located next to Baccali Cafe. Parking can be found in their designated parking lot. If you can't find parking there, you can find parking along Valley Blvd. or in residential streets nearby. Ambiance/Decor: Your typical chinese seafood restaurant feel with modern furnishings. Order Of Operations: 1) Go to the cashier and tell the staffer how people in your party. Depending on table availability, they'll give you a number and you'll have to wait until your number is called. 2) Proceed to the table, sit, decided what you want to eat, and order with your waiter. 3) Wait for the food come out and proceed to chow down. 4) Get the check, pay, and then proceed to your next destination. Service: Service was good. Staffers were friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions. Food came out at a decent time. Please note that that the steamed tilapia will take longer to cook. Food Of Choice: I usually patronize the shop when special lunch is involved (11pm - 6pm). Special lunch includes free daily soup (pork with bittermelon), rice, and discounted dish items that start at $9.99 and up. I've had 4 items (eggplant, chinese broccoli, steamed tilapia, and braised pork belly) already. They were quite delicious and the meats were tender. The only complain was that there was a lot of fat on them. Restaurant For Thought: I wouldn't mind coming back to try other food items.

Yelp
Looking for a place for dinner in the Monterey Park and Alhambra area, and took my hair stylist's recommendation to come to MJ Valley Restaurant. The parking lot is kinda small but we were lucky to get the last spot. On the door there's a sign saying that Steamed Tilapia was on special for $9.99 while supplies last. The two of us ordered a Beef with Loofah 勝瓜肥牛from the special menu on the wall, Pork Neck Meat with Chinese Green 菜心豬頸肉 from the $11.99 menu, and the Steamed Tilapia 清蒸魚。Everything was quite good and the Tilapia was surprisingly good sized for being $9.99. The Beef with Loofah was huge with a very generous amount of beef. The restaurant is rather spacious and bright. The decor is pleasant. They seem to offer a good variety of seafood also. Service was average but not as bad as in some of the reviews. I think MJ Valley is a decent restaurant with good value.

Yelp
I am quoting Yelper Jessica here to start this review: Life is a precious gift from God. Since He has placed us on this earth, we are called to love, to experience, and to marvel at His everyday blessings -- often found in the small, simple moments, like sharing a good meal. I had this moment with the visit of MJ Valley Restaurant, a popular Chinese restaurant with a curious name and a long line to match. Their lunch specials are incredibly affordable, with over 100 dishes under $13. My personal favorite is the fried whole fish -- crispy on the outside, tender on the inside -- and the stir-fried string beans with minced pork, a comforting classic done right. The wait was about 30 minutes, and while service was fast, it wasn't especially friendly -- pretty typical of many traditional Chinese spots. Yelp
The food here is very flavorful. I like that the king pao has a kick of spicy. I'm not usually a fan of pork chop but the salty flavor on their crispy pork chop was addicting. The waiters were very attentive. The restaurant was smaller than I thought (comparative to other restaurants of this type). Their lunch specials are great. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Amazing special lunch prices 7 days a week up until 6:00pm. The food tastes amazing, and they don't charge for rice, soup, and hot tea. Sometimes traditional Chinese food can feel really oily, but MJ Valley Restaurant does a great job at keeping the flavor without feeling too heavy/greasy. Definitely cannot be beat!

Yelp
Don't expect great service here because they'll most likely just ignore you unless if you're a regular customer (60 years old +). At least, they won't ever be sued for age discrimination. It took over 20 mins just for them to pass by my table to be told to wait, and another 10 mins for them to come back to take our order. We ordered two dishes (great prices, though) , but we got our fried fish after we were done with our two others. I don't plan on coming back as there are way too many other options out there with the same type of food and similar pricing for us to be treated like we were invisible. Not planning to come back.

Yelp
This place is your typical Chinese attitude restaurant. They have a small parking lot which is fine if you go right when they open, even a half an hour later and it will be full. The food is decent with a decent price tag which is probably why it's so popular. Nothing is overly salty or too bland, everything has a balance. Meal comes with white rice and soup. The 1 star comes from their service and attitude. When we came in with a table of 4 right when they opened with only 2 other tables in the restaurant, our food took longer to come out than a table of 8 that came in after us. We ordered basic chow mein and fried rice with the tofu and salt and pepper calamari. The tofu and the salt and pepper calamari came out first and then we proceeded to watch other tables get their chow mein and fried rice before us. When asked what happened, they said "there's nothing we can do, there's hella people. Just wait." There wasn't many people when we walked in and we sat down and ordered first. When we asked for extra utensils because they only gave us 3 sets for 4 people, they said they're "too busy, go get it yourself." Super unsanitary. I don't know where other peoples hands have been. We decided to cancel one of our orders because it was taking too long and we had somewhere we needed to be, they refused to let us cancel the order and all of a sudden the food came out 2 seconds later. Soo... it was just sitting there? Maybe you were serving your friends first? We asked for take out boxes and again, "go get it yourself." Welp, yall don't get a tip since this is a self serve restaurant. Price might be fair but I'm good. I'm not coming back.

Yelp
Located at Valley and 2nd St, in the heart of Alhambra, we arrived at the tail end of the lunch rush just after 1 pm on a Saturday. It was no problem getting a table for 3, parking was a bit tight. The ambiance was bright and open, an improvement from the prior restaurant that occupied this space. The food was decent. We had the House lobster at $19.99 per pound, you can't beat the price. Also my first time trying the crispy salted pig feet. It was crunchy and tender, a bit rich but not overly greasy. The stir fried eggplant was also tasty. The meal came with complementary soup and rice. Service was quite lacking here. I am used to mediocre service from Chinese restaurants. But no one came by to take our order for a long time. We couldn't wave anyone down. We were still ignored when a staff stood 3 feet from us, getting takeout boxes for someone else. Is it so hard to acknowledge someone, a simple "I'll be with you in a moment."? Food did come out promptly. It was difficult getting our tea refilled and getting the check. We got our own takeout boxes. I went up to the cashier to pay my bill.

Yelp
Lunch specials $9.99/10.99/11.99 Wow what a deal. Despite the low prices, the portions are not skimpy at all, as you can see in the photo. Taste-wise it's pretty legit Cantonese fare, with the beef chow fun being my favorite, cooked in a hot wok to perfection, flavorful and not at all greasy. Good luck finding parking if you come during lunch hour (11:30a-1:30p) $75 total for 5 dishes, a bucket of white rice and a giant bowl of house soup. FREE hot tea.

Yelp
I came here with my family for early dinner. They have a super late lunch special that ends at 6pm. Anyone that comes for their lunch special gets complimentary steamed rice and some soup. The sad part is that they didn't have iced lemon tea like other Hong Kong style restaurants. There was plenty of parking spots in their lot, but there is also street parking if you can't find a spot to park at. Their food quality was good, but wasn't great. Service was fast and I think because we spoke Chinese, the staff felt more comfortable with us. I enjoyed the fried fish, but i wished their fish was a little more "steamed". The meat didn't quite fall apart well compared to a steamed fish. Their shrimp with egg was quite large for an Entree. A lot of their lunch specials were under $16 a plate! The women's restroom had 2 stalls. One for single and a wheelchair accessible one. The single felt extremely small and compact that if you're a plus size woman, you'd have a hard time using it. At least that's how I felt. When we got there, the ambiance was casual, but really quiet. We wouldn't mind coming back.

Yelp
Lunch special galore. Good place for families and older folks. Decent menu and great lunch special prices starting from $9.99. Lunch special includes soup and rice. Service and ambiance is pretty straight forward, no frills type place. Medium size restaurant with tables best for groups. Nothing spectacular, this place and the food gets the job done for lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Heard this place has affordable prices for their Chinese food lunch specials. It ranges from $9.99 to $12.99. We ordered the deep fried fish, bitter melon beef, and seafood chow mein. The meal came with complimentary soup and rice. Everything was pretty good, tasted about the same as any other Chinese restaurant. Service was average. The floor was sticky and dirty though. They have large tables so it's kinda hard to grab the food from across the table, especially if it's just two people eating. They're located right next to Baccali Cafe on Valley Blvd. This location constantly change ownership and name so let's see how long this restaurant will last.

Chan L.

Yelp
Big menu selection , portions are ok, fast services. Very roomy inside the restaurant, lunch prices are very good.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Lunch special restaurant! Portions are worth the price, there could be more finesse with the end product but you can't be nitpicking too much when the restaurant is setup to be known for lunch specials. Soup and rice is surprisingly included, not many restaurants include soup now. It was lotus root and pork broth soup on the day we went, it had a good flavor of lotus root. Dinner time rice and soup is not included. We had dessert bean soup included instead. Great value for dinner items, I would say restaurant is comparable to the level of Henry's Cuisine in Alhambra.
google avatar

Pui Y.

Yelp
I come here for the lunch specials. They get busy sometimes and parking is hard to find. They share parking with Bacali and some parking are labeled for Bacali only. Their dine in lunch special includes soup and rice. Everything taste good.
google avatar

Danny F.

Yelp
This place has their own parking lot but because their dishes are so cheap, a lot of old people frequent here. This creates a problem for parking as there isn't enough space for everyone. You can park on Valley Blvd. but read the parking signs. The staff is not the best. They are the typical rude staff of any of the cheap restaurants in the area. Most likely the owner skimmed on the customer service training. They yell at you if you didn't hear them call your number. They do not come over to take your order. It is self-service to get a to-go box, utensils, or condiments. The worst of the worst service is here. The food is ordinary. Lunch comes with a broth of salt and twigs. Nothing stood out about the food as I cannot remember anything about it. So, it wasn't bad enough or good enough to remember it.
google avatar

Elfin L.

Yelp
We found a cockroach in the dish, so the waiter refunded us the money for that one dish. But do you still have an appetite for the rest? I won't dare come here again
google avatar

Delia C.

Yelp
Very good value lunch deal! The restaurant opens at 11 am, and because it is close to my work, I was able to try it on a Friday recently. After I parked (parking lot is not too big, but can street park), there were already people waiting for it to open. So I know this place has been approved by its customers. The interior is nice and the price is super good! I ordered a Kung Pao chicken lunch special, including a big bowl of rice and soup (猪骨汤)for only $11.01! The quantity is more than enough for one person, and the taste is very Hong Kong-style, which IMO is good:) Please go try, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Classic Chinese dishes + inexpensive ? Absolutely ! My family & I decided to come to MJ since their dishes were reasonably priced. I give the overall experience a 7/10. I wish the restaurant was more clean -- there were mosquitoes & flies flying around us in the restaurant. Despite the cleanliness, my favorite dishes were the chicken chow fun & the pork chop w spicy salt ! We came 1 hour before closing & the restaurant was kind and were super accommodating with our large party. We ate fairly fast & left by closing ! MJ was nice to try at least once but I do not think I will be returning.

Yelp
Really enjoyed their lobster here! It was salted egg battered, a little greasy but so good! Steamed Red grouper was also really tasty.. the one we got was 3 lbs, $50/lb. Bit pricey but cooked so perfectly Super packed even on a Sunday night but service was still great. Manager is very friendly
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
I came here with my parents for lunch. There was a good amount of people in line waiting so I would just come here early before the crowd on weekends. We got a booth in the corner along the wall. The chicken and the fish were delicious, perfect with sauce and not overcooked. my parents really liked the seafood tofu dish. Overall Taste and cooking were pretty good. We would come here again. I recommend coming here when you're craving a sitdown chinese restaurant. But warning that it feels like theres not many waiters available to take your order. The table next to us ended up waiting a long time before they had their order taken. The best strategy would be to take a look at the menu while waiting in line and know what you want so you can order right away once you get a table.
google avatar

Monica C.

Yelp
Excellent value for decent sized dishes. The lunch special menu offers a variety of entrees and it comes with rice and soup. My family had the sweet & sour pork chops, fried fish, and green beans. The food was fresh and piping hot. The sweet and sour pork chops had a good amount of meat so it wasn't like you get mostly bones. The green beans and fish were super crispy though I would have liked more soy sauce on the fish, maybe it was mostly absorbed by the fish. Parking is a bit on the small side but street parking is available.
google avatar

Yelp
I was really rooting for this place because they had great potential and great special lunch deals but their service is just abhorrent. Price: 5/5 They have great lunch deals that come with free white rice, soup of the day, and tea. Their lowest entree is $9.99. Service: 0/5 We went during lunch time and there were only about 5 other tables in a nearly empty restaurant. The wait staff was just sitting there eating and chatting while all the tables waited for their food. We waited over 30 minutes and what made us get up to leave was the rudeness of the wait staff. When they brought out the first dish, we asked the waiter, how long the rest of the food would be, the waiter said, "I just brought this out, if you don't want to wait, we can cancel it for you." Instead of apologizing for the wait, they made us feel unwelcome. I will never come back to this restaurant because of their poor service and attitude. I know this was not an isolated incident. After reading many other reviews about their slow service, I feel like they do not have the capacity to keep up with service. Please do better.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
With a wide selection and pricing starting at $9.99, $10.99, and $11.99, these are really affordable. After taking half of our order, the server moved on to assist other customers. After a further 15 minutes, he returned and got our orders. After 15 minutes, all plates were served, and we asked for the rice, which took a another 20 minutes to arrive. The dinner was lacking in flavor and/or excessively salty. The service here is poor; we asked for a to-go menu and were told by the server in the front to get it ourselves. With poor service, this will be our first and final visit.

Yelp
Hmmmm...this building has seen its share of restaurants in the many years I've been here. MJ Valley is the latest, and I'm not sure it has staying power. My mom has been wanting to come here to try it, so we did. The restaurant boasts $9.99 dishes for dinner. It's mostly stir fried vegetables. Anything that was more interesting cost more. Inflation, I guess. It took about 40 minutes on a weekday after ordering to get our first dish. Their signature dish is make of chives, taro, Chinese sausage, and peanuts. $15, but pretty mid. We also order a seafood tofu pot--super salty and had 2 shrimps and two pieces of squid. We also got a fish with mushroom dish. They gave us the wrong dish with chicken and tried to convince us to take it. We wanted what we ordered, and it took another 15 minutes to get the "correct" dish. I used quotes because it was fish with celery--no mushrooms. Lastly, I ordered the short rib dish. I think it was $25. Tastes better than the rest, albeit pretty salty too. And lastly rice was $2 a bowl. I've never seen a Chinese restaurant charge for rice before. It was super mushy, like halfway between properly cooked rice and congee. I was very disappointed. Will not be going back given all the other choices in SGV.

Yelp
We came by at 5:20pm on a Saturday for a family dinner celebration. They offer an amazing lunch special from 12-6pm with dishes ranging from $9.99 to $15.99. It's seriously such a good deal with today's inflation prices everywhere. The fact that their lunch special also lasts until 6pm pretty much allows you an early dinner for the same price. The lunch special includes soup, rice, and tea. For our table of four, we ordered the Braised String Beans ($9.99), Pork Chop with Spicy Salt ($9.99), Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables ($10.99), Beef Chow Fun ($11.99), and Crispy Pan-Fried Flounder ($11.99). The dishes came out one by one, but not too far apart. I really enjoyed all the dishes, especially for the price. My favorites were the string beans and chow fun though. If you're craving Cantonese dishes for a great value, definitely come here. You really can't beat the lunch special prices here that last for extended hours. The food is also delicious and I can imagine our family coming back here again. Plus, we ended with some taro tapioca dessert that was a sweet way to end the meal.

Dan T.

Yelp
Foods are decent. Prices are reasonable. The super bad service is the key issue. The staffs including the boss are all using the "China like attitudes". Mean, unhappy, unfriendly, mediocre service. But when they want tips, they expect more for their mean "China like service ". Horrible and mean staffs. When you ask politely for an extra pot of tea for 6 people, they are mean saying "you have a pot already ". What kind of "China attitude " is that.

Yelp
So my dad really wanted to check out this spot again but for the lunch specials which I found definitely worth it! This time we ordered with caution and also asked them to cook our dishes with less oil and salt. The service was much more friendly and attentive but we all noticed thought it still took a long time for the food to arrive. My dad is a patient person and used to be a waiter himself, so for him to comment out loud means a lot. We ordered the seafood chow mein $13, sweet and sour ribs $11, fish filet with black bean sauce $12, kung Pao chicken $10, enoki mushrooms with tofu $12 and braised string beans $10. The lunch special comes with soup and rice! The complimentary soup was surprisingly good; it was like a traditional pork and veggie soup. I thought everything tasted good except I wouldn't order the enoki mushroom with tofu again. They described it to us as egg tofu but the outside was too fried and salty. I especially was impressed with the string beans as a lot of places have the fried version that makes the string beans all shriveled. Here the string beans were cooked with its own veggie crunch! The seafood chow mein was ordered dry without gravy (I don't normally order it this way, usually I order crispy with gravy). It was better than I expected and felt a lot healthier! I am not usually a fan of Kung Pao chicken. I thought the chicken itself was good but I'm not really into the sauce. The sweet and sour ribs were good while the fish filet was not bad. I bumped up the rating since most of the dishes were good considering the price. I was happy they offered the lunch special all the way to 6 pm on a Sunday! I definitely would come back specifically for the lunch specials!

Yelp
This is definitely a lunch special location with very spotty service. Ambiance is okay, loud and servers are just rushing around taking orders and dropping the food off at tables. Customer service and attentiveness are lacking. As for the food, portions are good and I thought everything tasted okay but not special. I'm good with paying a few bucks more at Taste of MP and get a better experience. Not sure if I'll be back.

Janey Y.

Yelp
This is a popular lunch spot (11am to 6pm everyday) for Cantonese dishes. It comes with complimentary rice and soup but occasionally depending on the timing, they might run out of soup. Lunch specials start at $9.99 and there are over 80 plus dishes on the menu. (Vegetables, seafood, meat, noodles, congee, etc) Service is usually no frills but over time, my parents have become long term customers so their service is friendlier. Tip: Seating and parking can get difficult on weekends with long waits so come by 5 on weekends.

Tracy K.

Yelp
I came here with my family on a Saturday. I asked my mom to modify two dishes to vegan dishes for me so I can join my family to eating lunch. They have lunch specials from 11am-6pm. My mom ordered me deep fried tofu, and buddha's delight (veggie stir fry) . I was a little upset when the waiter didn't feel like asking the staff how the food was made, but he reassured me that those dishes are not cooked in animal Products. The food was really good and enjoyed them with rice. Thank goodness I didn't feel sick afterward. Ambiance was typically noise level for an Asian restaurant, at times average and at times loud.

Anthony L.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time as kid with my big group family. The name is different now but very happy that the type of food/deals/atmosphere is still the same as it was 15 plus years ago. Plus they still have the lunch deals even on weekends. Definitely a great place to go to for lunch if you have a big group and not looking to spend too much. The service was excellent. They seated us right away and came out with tea and cups as soon as we sat. They even have complimentary soup which they bring along with the tea. Only thing that bothered me though, was the men's restroom. It was not the cleanest and the soap dispenser didn't have a lid... so 4 stars for that, or would've given 5 stars.

Anna C.

Yelp
The restaurant offers lunch special from 11am to 6pm!! And, the entrees starts from $9.99 and on. 1. Beef with scallion and onion: Yummy and good with rice. 2. Peking style porkchop: Sweet, sour, and really good. 3. Garlic bokchoy: I think that's bokchoy . Nonetheless, it is fresh, crispy and tasty. The lunch special entrees come with soup and rice. Of course, the quantity is plenty so I got containers to take the leftovers home. Give it a try, it will not disappoint you.

Yelp
we just tried this new MJ valley restaurant today and it was okay. The atmosphere was bland but clean. They have lunch specials from $9.99-$11.99 each includes soup and white rice which is pretty cheap. We ordered beef with satay sauce, pork chop with Peking style flavor sauce, braised string bean, crispy pan-fried flounder and we also ordered seafood chow mein for to go. They first served us the complimentary soup and it was pretty good. The crispy pan-fried flounder portion size was a bit small but the fish was crispy. It had so much bones and not much meat through. (I would give 3 out of 5 stars) Braised string bean was a bit salty (3 out of 5 stars) Pork chop with peking style flavor sauce was way too sour and the flavor was so strong. We usually like this kind of pork chop but their taste was way too sour. (2.5 out of 5 stars) The last dish was beef with satay sauce. It was greasy and oily and the sliced beef were so small. Flavor was kinda salty too. (2.5 out of 5 stars) We haven't tried the seafood chow mein yet. Service was mediocre. We think that the overall score would be 2.5-3 stars even though the price was good. It's okay to try it out once.

Yelp
Good restaurant for chinese/cantonese cuisine and dishes. The way they cook their food is definitely on the healthier side...less oil and salt. Less appetizing for youngsters but elderly will definitely love.

Yelp
Located right next to Baccali Cafe. Came for lunch on a Saturday and it was packed! Waited about 15 mins for a table and since we had a big party they gave us our own little room. Parking lot is small or there is street parking available. Since it was busy, I expected service to be a little slow but they were all very friendly. Amazing lunch special prices!! I haven't seen prices this good in a while especially in SGV. For the price, portion was big and quality was decent! Can't really complain much. They also serve free soup for the table. Overall, this is a good spot to visit for lunch specials!

Yelp
Attitude of servers was beyond bad. We're never coming back. When asked for a take home container they pointed to the wall meaning, "get it your self".

Yelp
Their lunch specials are tasty and affordable! Rice and soup are also complimentary. One con is that parking in this plaza can be so difficult since the plaza is small, and there is limited street parking. My family has returned to this restaurant because of the affordable prices. Be prepared for a longer wait time on the weekends.

Yelp
Old school Cantonese and extended lunch priced. Waiters were adequate to friendly. Ambiance was old school

Yelp
Standard SGV lunch special prices, quantity, and quality. I'd say the service is worse than most other Chinese places in the area. The soup here is towards the very good part of the spectrum. I'd possibly avoid Mondays though, the soup and sauteed items lacked flavor. I'm guessing the main chef is off on Mondays.

Yelp
I came here with a bunch of Mom friends, and it was easy to get a big table for us all. The food was fresh and came out pretty quickly. It was easy to order if you don't know Cantonese. I think we ordered some dinner specials and I thought the food tasted yummy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food is good, pretty big portion. service is alright. Inside is quite new and bright. Latge parking lot, no wait time at 6pm on a Friday nite. Spacious inside, the table is on the big side for party of 3.

Yelp
We came right before 6 pm right in time for their dinner specials. We ordered several dishes - steamed chicken, peking spare ribs, bitter melon soup, fried shrimp, fried tofu, string beans, fried sweet and sour fish and pork belly. We received complimentary a red bean dessert. Overall, I would say for the price and quality it would have to be a 3.5/5. I've rounded up the rating to a 4 because the waiter there was kind and the prices for these specials are unbeatable. The food isn't something that stands out and is pretty average but if you're looking for some decent, reasonably priced food to fill your tummy up then this is the place! We went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't packed. They are strict with their specials though so make sure you arrive before 6 to qualify for their specials menu!

Yelp
Very good for the very reasonable prices. Lunch specials $10.. where can you find this price anywhere? This place is clean, food is good and service is relatively good food with very low price.

Yelp
Thus far, I have tried the following. I like this place. The food is good, not greasy and some of the dishes are made differently than the usual way. It's nice to have a change. Beef Stew and Rice Rolls in Sizzling Pot- The beef was soft. There are some pieces that may be a little bit tough, but overall, all of the beef stew pieces were soft. The rice rolls were great. The only thing that was different was the tangy/sourness flavor. It could have been the vinegar. I didn't particular like it but after a while, I got use to it. But overall, still a great dish. Chinese Broccoli with Dried Fish & Ginger Sauce- it was good. Great texture. Salt and Pepper Shrimp- This is really good! fried sticky rice with preserved meat-They made it with peanuts! It's very different from the usual dish you find at other places, but I liked it. It was also pretty light, not as heavy and flavorful as the usual either. If you're looking for a lighter fried sticky rice dish, this is the place. Singapore Style Fried Vermicelli- I liked this one too. It had lots of shrimp inside and the noodles were great texture. Yelp
My relatives wanted to take me to lunch here because this place is new and very reasonably priced. So they drove us to Alhambra area. Food is okay, typical HK cafe/ Cantonese style food, but the prices for lunch are very reasonable. We had yau choy, Kung po shrimp, poached chicken with ginger scallion sauce, and crispy pata. My aunt complained that the crispy pata here although crispy isn't as good as the other restaurant they were going to take me. The restaurant dining area seemed clean and fairly spacious. The bathroom was not as well kept. Floor was wet and slippery. Service seemed a bit sloppy too as they gave us wrong order but they did correct it when notified. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Took my mom out for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. And man was it packed! We did have to wait 30 minutes. When we get to sit down and ready to order, waitress don't take any orders so we waited a long time before we can get our orders in with a waiter. Very busy and understaff. Lunch special starts from 12pm -6pm. Food is good with the pricing. The Braised Pork is $10.99, Shrimp is $11.99, Deep Fried Flounder is $11.99, and sweet and sour pork is $9.99. Newly renovated restaurant, so ambiance isn't so bad. Food isn't so bad, I was not much a of big fan of the Deep fried Flounder but it was good for the price. The batter they use was very thick and absorbed all the deep fried oil. Braised pork was very delicious flavors but needed to be braised a little longer for the pork belly to be melted in your mouth but still very delicious. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork, very big pieces. Definitely would order it again. Also would come here again because the lunch special comes with soup and rice! We even ordered broccoli beef to go for my mother in law. When she tried it, she said it was delicious! Coming back for more for the good pricing for decent food!

Yelp
Food isn't as good as before. We were there last Easter. However, take it with a grain of salt, we have fairly high standard in Chinese food quality Service is still good and place is nice.
