Hotel ML

We were guests of the 1 star Guide Michelin restaurant in the hotel ML in Haarlem. We were there for dinner. We didn't stay in the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel ML in Haarlem is situated in the middle of the hotel. It has an open kitchen - you can sit on bar stools next to the kitchen and the cooks, we sat in one of the two guest rooms which have a nice combination of historic ambiance with modern design. The restaurant is chic, modern and pleasant, with dark green walls, you feel there very well and like at home. We had the chance to watch owner and chef Mark Gratama and one of his colleagues working in his kitchen - professional, calm and concentrated. Mark Gratama is well known and respected as a cuisine chef in Haarlem and the Netherlands. The service was simply perfect. Our female host on this evening did a very professional, friendly and attentive job. The explanations were very good and enlightening. The proposals for the wine were perfect and fitted very well to the different dishes of our menu. The dishes of our 6 course menu were all very impressive. They were all made from very fresh and many regional products. We had for example a perfect prepared langostine with pork belly and ssamjang. The combination of the langostine and the pork belly seemed to be uncommun but worked really fantastic, both flavors fitted perfect and reinforced each other very special. A real surprice was the zucchini flower with wild garlic and celeriac. The zucchini flower was deep-fried and filled with ricotta and spinach, tasted with the other components very fresh and triggert a lot of umami. Fantastic was also the entrecote with churros (!) and chinichurri, a creative combination - perfectly made. At the end Mark Gratama joyned our table and we had the chance to talk with him about his creations which was very kind. At all a really good gourmet restaurant with a modern, creative, tastily and impressive cuisine. A real 1 star Guide Michelin restaurant for special and exciting moments. We will always like to visit again!

This was one of our favorite hotels in the Netherlands. We love the historic atmosphere, the large room with split bathroom, and the gorgeous view of the church across the street. The staff were also extremely helpful, suggesting a few places I could buy a jacket as it was cooler than I expected.

This is a review for the restaurant, not hotel or bistro. We opted for a la carte ( simply too much food for us in 5-6-7 courses meals). We ordered sea bass and entrecote. We're given appetizers anyway( complimentary). All was rather interesting. Entries were quite good. Menu does not say it, but sea bass was tartar. It was great, but unexpected, we had to switch entries, my spouse is not into tartar.

This is a review for the 1-star Michelin restaurant. The variety of ingredients in the food and wide range of cooking techniques was impressive. However, the overall tastiness of the food did not live up to our expectations. The worst part is that we got bad food poisoning symptoms that evening afterwards.

We stayed for three nights at beautiful Hotel ML and enjoyed our view of the historic Church St. Bavo. Our breakfast was amazing with lots of pastry and fresh bread. We loved the food so much we ate there for dinner. It's a great location to outdoor markets and museums.

Nice hotel room in a convenient location and close to public transportation. A few things - the mattress was only a topper, which found odd. The water from the shower fluctuates in temperature quite a bit. The church clock tower outside is constantly going off at all times of the day/night, making it hard to rest. We had to use sounds on our cell phone to drawn out the noise. Better to bring ear plugs as well to be on the safe side. They’re not really flexible with the checkout time. The restaurants have good reviews but didn’t eat there.

The bistro serves excellent, top quality food. The dishes we tried ....Chicken bonne femme, rib-eye steak and sole were delicious. Breakfast too is very high quality and beautifully presented. The staff are attentive and friendly. Service and food is first class. Very highly recommended.

We didn't stay at the hotel. I booked a table at the restaurant, which was great decisions and amazing experiences with tasty food . One thing I can make negative comments about service .it's michelin restaurant, but service was so poor 😢. When u pay money for great food, of course u except also great service. Service was definitely so poor. I hope they can fix the problem. Location heart if the Haarlem Nederland. They have work for better service. If u ask me about the price, It's good. Recommended, especially with Wagyu Beef.
