MMC's The Half Acre

Half Acre BBQ is seriously one of my favorite places to grab some good barbecue in Midland. The brisket is super tender and packed with flavor, the ribs are juicy and fall right off the bone, and the sausage has that perfect snap. You can tell everything is made with care.

I did like the One meat plate price, I think it's one of the cheapest in town. Super polite and sweet staff, they have a well oiled machine running, for sure! I got he pork ribs and gc mac and cheese. I LOVED the crust and tooth feel of the ribs and the Mac was good, but, I felt all of it was under seasoned. Yes, it was seasoned, but a little more salt would be appreciated. I don't like to rely on BBQ sauce for salt content. That said, their BBQ sauce was definitely different, heavy on oregano, I think? But I liked it.

Lean brisket head very flavorful bark ,sausage is very good with good snap and flavor. Poppers are available as a side with just the right amount of heat. Potato salad looks store made, can’t wait to come back.

High quality good BBQ here! The flavors were rich and smoky, little pepper heavy, little too fatty for the moist option (so I’ll go leaner next time) - but meat was tender, and the portions were very generous. Everything felt freshly made, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again while passing through!

MMCHalfAcre Special "The Steer". By far the best meal I've had in Midland / Odessa in a long time. Flavor was unreal. Buttery, fall off the bone, perfectly seasoned. The mushroom and onion gravy was sooooo good. I was debating leaving it off but I'm so glad I didn't. Sides: loaded mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Both absolutely incredible and perfectly seasoned. Dino rib was HUGE. Like, this 1 plate could easily feed 2 - 4 people. Order it for lunch and have leftovers for dinner and breakfast. Not sure how long they'll have this special going, but damn this needs to be added to the permanent menu. I think I paid $26.99. AN ABSOLUTE STEAL.

Food was good. I enjoyed the atmosphere. We ate outside and enjoyed the evening. I would come back. Texas egg roll is cream cheese with brisket and jalapeños. I can eat two and be full. They are delicious !!

The burgers here were great. You can tell the difference between their wagyu beef and other burger patties from local burger joints. We got an All American and a Breakfast All Day. Both were delicious and the fries/tots were good too. The peach cobbler and sweet tea is tasty as well. Additionally, the staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. Price wise, we got all that for $37, so it’s not breaking the bank. Will definitely be back to try some other menu options.

Outstanding BBQ, 10/10 recommend! A colleague and I travel to Midland a few times a year. When in town we eat at Half Acre every evening. The beef "dino" ribs are my all time favorite. The staff is very efficient and friendly. The sauce is simply the best I have ever had. Sides are portioned perfectly and the meats are liberally served.

The barbecue was very legit! Good location with easy parking and good access for disabled. Pleasant decor, nice staff, but you have to get your own drinks, you have to listen for a ticket number and pick up your own food, Noise level a bit high.

I visited this Top 50 restaurant for lunch immediately after visiting a client in the area. The parking lot is large and there is plenty of seating. There was no line at the time luckily as the ordering process is quick and efficient since there are 2 registers. They have 2 buildings and a courtyard between the metal buildings, all have seating. I found they have a full menu and some choices you don't regularly see at a craft bbq restaurant like steak fingers and brisket eggrolls. I tried their 3 meat plate with sliced moist brisket, sausage and beef ribs. They only had the jalapeno sausage on my visit. Also, the beef ribs are not the Dino ribs. I chose green chili mac n cheese as my one side. They have an intercom to call your order number. The 2nd building does not have central air conditioning, but it's partially covered has fans, and a floor cooler, and in the winter they fan utilize the 3 gas heaters in the ceiling. On the other side of the 2nd building is an area for cornhole. Brisket - a very thick slice probably near 1/3 lb, nice smoke ring, very tender. 4/5 Jalapeno cheese sausage - a good Texas style sausage, not spicy, pretty juicy, utilizes cheddar. 4/5 Beef ribs - you receive 5 beef ribs, its not a lot of meat on these though. They're cooked well done, and just short of being beef jerky for the most part, good flavor though. Some of the meat is tender or fatty and not well done. 3/5 Green chili mac n cheese - uses small elbow noodles, maybe 1-2 cheeses, a little on the dry side, not spicy, 3/5 Banana pudding - one of the better banana puddings ive had lately, tasted homemade, very few wafers in mine, also a few banana chunks present. This pudding has 3 layers, pudding, custard and a whipped cream 4/5 Overall, I had a good experience here on a day that wasn't all that hot. For the amount of food I received on a 3 meat plate, plus the dessert and tea...this would have cost at least $40 in Houston, Austin, or other major cities. Here though, only $33. Many customers were ordering sandwiches and burgers. So I would want to try their burger next time. Their menu indicates many of their meats are from Midland Meat Company, another highly rated business (butcher shop) in town. However, Half Acre is actually an extension of this meat company, according to their website.

Work brought me to Midland, TX back to my old stomping grounds of all places and my co workers and I were hankering some BBQ and we heard so much about the newish spot off Big Spring Street in north Midland The Half Acre and just had to try it the biggest attraction that made it top of my list is the Brisket egg roll! Upon entering on a late lunch hour the place wasn't too busy so we quickly placed our orders and were on our way. The sweet tea is really good here perfect balance of sweet compliments well with the brisket egg roll I was about to devour! The egg roll is generous portion of juicy brisket and dipped with their come back sauce it stole the show! Now for the two meat plate! Let's talk beef, the moist "fatty" brisket had nice balance of brisket juices and great seasoning on it paired well with the sausage. The cheesy corn on the other hand not for me, tasted like a little bit of nacho cheese paired with corn. Overall, I would return for that amazing Brisket Egg roll and would try the turkey next time or ribs out. I do recommend you give it a try yourself to see if it tops one of Midland BBQ eats!

Its always sooooo gooood Moist brisket and the sauce ugh! Cant beat that! Best BBQ .

It's a little off the path, had to figure out how to get in to the parking lot. Once we figured it out, we were shocked by how full the parking lot was for close to closing time. Turns out there was a football banquet or something so the outside seating area was closed, making the dining room really full. This is a place you order the food and they call your number when it's done. I had the 2 meat plate with beans and cheesy corn. I had brisket, all they had left was lean, and ribs. Lean brisket was dry, had to put some sauce on it to eat it. Ribs were great Sides were good as well. Nice place, would come back for sure

My goodness, what a place to go eat! Friday evening and I wanted a good burger. My wife had the green chili burger and my grandson had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I ordered the Texas Twister burger, fries, and a drink. The burger was a beef juicy patty with sausage link combined with cheese, carmilized onions and bar b que sauce! Hmmm! The fries were thin and crispy and seasoned just right! Overall, service was fast, quick, cleaned, and friendly! A very relaxing atmosphere for a family oriented restaurant! Will be coming back soon! Pretty good bbq from a local source in midland. Good prices and very filling. Free regular sized drinks-It's a small but appreciated thing. Very friendly staff with plenty of space if the weather is nice

Damn this place is GREAT!! Just go, don't ask and enjoy everything on their menu. If you love BBQ there is nothing that compares to this restaurant.

Best BBQ around! Not much to say other than you won't be disappointed. Get there early for lunch. This place is no secret for the locals.

I'm a big Brantley Creek fan, and being new to Texas and m always in search of great Barbecue. Well I stumbled upon Half acre and it's my new go to spot. The quality is exceptional, the portion sizes are large, and the price can't be beat. If I had one recommendation it would be to slice the brisket thinner. 8 out 5 stars!!!

I am a picky eater when it comes to BBQ, but this place totally exceeded my expectations. The Brisket and ribs were flavorful and juicy. The Mac n cheese was very tasty. Service was quick and friendly. You have the choice of inside or outside dining. The establishment was very clean and accommodating. We will definitely be back

We ordered their sampler platter, which includes four meats. So we ordered the brisket lean (it was not), the pork ribs which were good, the sausage which was too fatty, and finally, the beef ribs which we found out were not served on Fridays before 5:00 pm. So to replace the beef ribs we wanted we ordered the pulled pork which was good. But overall too fatty for us but if you were a fan of fatty barbecue, it's a great place to go.

I have eaten here once and will never go back, the brisket was the so dry that the bbq sauce they had wasn't enough to bring it back to edible. I am one that believes if you have to put sauce on the meat it's not worth eating. The ribs where the same way the seasoning on the ribs was the worst I have ever tried and to attempt to eat. Thankfully someone else paid for it, never go back. The staff was ok, not very helpful, about the same as a fast food restaurant.

Great experience, fast, friendly to the point service. Great brisket, great coleslaw , great tea Nice touch with the complementary beverages !

We had a really great lunch here, the brisket was to die for! They have a nice outdoor seating area with TVs, bathrooms, and a green for putting and corn hole. We'd love to see a pulled pork sandwich on the menu some day (tip-the real good kind that's not pre-drenched in bbq sauce!). We just wish they were open for dinner or on weekends since we live in the neighborhood right behind them! Closest place to eat for a great lunch on a weekday though!

Food is amazing! The turkey is juicy and tasty, their prices are always reasonable!! The brisket tacos 10/10!

The food is amazing and perfectly seasoned. The meat is always juicy tender. My favorite is their chicken sandwich with potato salad. The employees are really nice polite and welcoming.

I made an appearance with my buddies after volleyball practice and the service was incredible! i decided on the pulled pork sandwhich and it was amazing! Specifically my Dr. Pepper was the crispiest most delicious thing I've had in a while. One hundred percent would recommend this place to enjoy with your families.

Always love the food. My favorites are the ribs and the chopped beef. Everything we get is outstanding though! They are friendly and it has a great family vibe. We love eating out on the new patio and playing corn hole!

This place is absolutely amazing! Chef inspired and unique styles of condiments and such. For instance the BBQ is one of a kind and very good! (I'm picky about BBQ sauce too.) The typical BBQ meats are top notch! Another cool side note about half acre is they aren't just a restaurant. They own the ranch where beef is raised, a meat market where you can buy their raw beef, and a restaurant that cooks and prepares it for you. Reasonably priced and has indoor and outdoor seating and even an outdoor area for the kids. Don't forget to try the banana pudding!!!

Wow, this place was great. The only thing I would want more is if they were open either on one weekend day the barbecue sauce, little different than I'm used to but very good. All of the people who worked there is very nice. Lorie was very friendly and made us feel right at home.

Got this for take out since they are only open for lunch time and we wanted it for dinner. The brisket was really good once you cut the fat off. The ribs were okay but not the best we've had. The sausage was very chewy. Some of us liked the cheesy corn and the Mac and cheese was really good. Also got the potato salad and that was good as well. Bbq sauce was good.

I'm Texas everything is big. That was the size of the portions they served. I'm glad I got a one meat plate. It was a 3/4 inch thick slice of wonderfully juicy brisket that was bigger than my hand and my stomach. My only complaint if it's a complaint is that there's only one sauce to be had. Not overly sweet or spicy ok flavor. I'm just used to having at least 3 or 4 different flavors of sauce. Still.... come hungry and leave full it's well worth the trip.

Went here with some coworkers. I was pretty impressed. The moist brisket was good. The pork and beef ribs were good as well. I liked the rub on the beef ribs more, but would probably say overall the pork were my favorite. I wasn't too impressed with the green chili Mac and cheese. I paid what I'd consider a premium for the deviled eggs ($2/ea) and bought enough for everyone to get one. They were not anything special or even that good. There was one left and no one wanted it. So save your money on those. A friend had the jalapeño sausage and said it was good. Several others had the chopped beef sandwiches, all seemed to enjoy. We sat outside under their covered eating area. It looked like they were installing some tvs in the outdoor section. Almost 5 star for me. The place was a tad pricey, the eggs and side were nothing special. But I'd certainly let go back.

My wife and I finally tried the Half Acre today. We both enjoyed it. We arrived about 5 minutes before the restaurant opened at 11:00 AM and there was a short line of 4 - 6 people waiting. We sat in the car until someone was let in. There's a menu on your left as you enter. I ordered the 3-meat platter with double brisket and sausage. You get your choice of sides, and I ordered a side salad with green chili vinaigrette. I ended up taking half the brisket home. The sausage must have been a jalapeño cheddar variety as it was cheesy and a little too spicy for my wife. Her side was potato salad, and she said it was good. I can't review the sauce as I'm avoiding sugar. (Hope there wasn't any in the vinaigrette, which was tasty.) My wife said she prefers a little sweeter sauce. It's self-service. They call your number when it's ready. Styrofoam cups, lids, straws, and a soda dispenser provide ice and drinks. Also on the wall are several tea dispensers I'd estimate 10 tables, maximum, inside with seating for 4 each. It's definitely a place to arrive early, although they have outdoor seating for the two or three days a year you might want to eat outside in Midland. We left satisfied and will return.

Heaven so very good and Lori was great she walked to each table asking if everything was ok did we need anything. Such hospitality can't say enough about how good the street Tacos were as well. My husband has lived and traveled to numerous countries and he said the Brisket was One of the BEST HE HAD EATEN. Thank you Half Acre, we will be back.

This place is so yummy!!! Been here several times and never left hungry or disappointed. The food is outstanding! I highly recommend this place. The menu is very diverse and loaded with all sorts of goodies but if you ask, there are usually even a few items that are available off menu. Shhhh you didn't hear that from me!!! They have recently extended their hours which makes it even better so don't miss this place!! You will not regret eating here. I think my favorite is probably the ribs but I have several favorites here so try it all!!! You won't be sorry!! The service is great too. Your order comes out pretty fast so if you are in a hurry you don't have to worry about being late getting back to work. Ambience, it's not the highest priority here but it's mainly bar BQ so what do you expect? Come give it a try. If you are hungry, I promise you will not leave disappointed!

I love the variety and the meats are delicious, I was disappointed that the fries were not as fresh as I had when I came and there were picnic tables outside, I ordered a side of okra and those also had been under the heat lamp, just wasn't the same freshness I expected. We had a good time visiting and the help are real nice.

MMC, do you ship? I was at the recent Regional swim meet and you provided hospitality for the workers. It was so delicious. The sausage was incredible! For me, the BBQ was dark and not too smoky. Nice. I wanted to eat it all! But you're only open 3 days a week. And I live 4 hours away! I want to order from you! Let me know...

Best barbecue spot in midland a warm atmosphere. The service was excellent they took care of me and my family. Very welcoming cannot stress how excellent it was. 10/10!

Barbecue is definitely back! This was one of the best places I've had barbecue. The chop brisket sandwich is always good, but you absolutely have to try their ribs! Fried okra to perfection. Oh and their house made pickles are second to none! If you have room grab a brisket egg roll!

This food was excellent, the sides were well proportioned and the service was impeccable. 10/10 would recommend this place. Plan on stopping by again next time I'm in town.

For just under $22 I had a gigantic piece of brisket and and big size jalapeño sausage link. It also came with a side (pinto beans was my choice) and a drink. Everything was great. Brisket melts in your mouth and the beans had bits of onions, jalapeños and bacon in them and were so full of flavor. Sausage had the right amount of spice and tons of flavorful cheese. The only downside of this place are the hours, but if you have a chance to go try it you will be doing yourself a favor. In my opinion is the best BBQ in Midland or Odessa.

NO THANK YOU! Brisket sandwich was dry and cold. Banana Pudding DISGUSTING! Couldn't tell if it was from a can or watered down or something, did not taste good enough to take a second bite. Prices were high, right in line with Midland TX. Oh, I must mention the potato salad was horrible as well. 2 Deviled eggs, tasteless, 2 jalapeño poppers and hatch Mack and cheese not good, That's what I bought for $38. This place is just like 99% of the restaurants in Midland. I've stopped reviewing places because there're all so gross. I was so hopeful this spot wouldn't disappoint, not the case.

My wife and I tried MMC Half Acre today for lunch. I had the pork ribs and my wife had the Brisket Egg roll. Both were really good! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It is super nice inside and well maintained. We liked that there was both indoor and outdoor seating. We will be back again soon.

We got catering and it was so so yummy!!! Will be looking to use them in the future for other events!

Awesome quality, tasted great, and friendly service! The next time we will get a leaner cut of brisket as opposed to the moist option, because it was a bit fattier than we were expecting. But that was on us, and now we know. Otherwise a perfect meal! We will be back!!

Had lunch here the other day. Fantastic service, did not wait more than 5 minutes for meal despite the busy lunch rush. Portions are large. Meat is flavorful! My fav bbq place in town!

The best barbecue brisket I've ever had. Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and family friendly restaurant. Couldn't ask for a better place to eat. Will be back (and back!)
