"The soft-serve ice cream adorned with everything imaginable from bacon to sugary cereal to edible glitter are coming to downtown Stillwater this spring with the second location of MN Nice Cream. Mpls./St. Paul Magazine reports that the Northeast shop will open another in the former location of Wedge & Wheel cheese shop in downtown Stillwater. All the goodies are coming along and owner Katie Romanski promises scratch n’ sniff wallpaper. The dazzling little shop with the cavalcade of add-ons began as a food truck before opening a storefront in the summer of 2018. It was an instant success with irresistible Instagram opportunities: great lighting, large white brick wall, snazzy wallpaper, neon signs and all kinds of other cuteness." - Joy Summers

Decent soft serve. It had a very smooth texture but the flavor was too subtle for my liking. I think adding toppings would have solved this though! If you like more subtle delicate flavors you’ll definitely enjoy this spot. The atmosphere and the place’s decoration were amazing though! I really enjoyed the fun neon lights and colorful decorations.

I love their sundaes here! They are loaded with goodies and can be shared between 2 people. I got the Cookie Monster, and it was overflowing! Staff were nice, and the place was clean too. You can get free edible glitter on top of your ice cream too!

Google
It’s soft serve ice cream…so if that’s not what you’re looking, for you’ll be disappointed. However, what we had was very tasty. The toasted marshmallow option as a topping was fabulous! If you’re in Stillwater check them out!

Super fun experience and love the decor. But I wasn't a fan of the actual ice cream. So I wouldn't probably wouldn't wait in the long line again. But staff was nice and moved lines quickly. The editable glitter was fun! They had vegan options and bunch fun cones! That was cool but I need more flavor in my ice cream and I had a chocolate waffle cone with the burbon brownie or what ever and we got the cookie monster and the one with gummy bears and fruity pebbles. Kids love that! I did love the cone holders for the kids! That was great 👍.

My daughter has several food allergies to dairy corn gluten and eggs and she was elated to have a treat within her diet! Nice young man working there as well!

Eh could be better. Toppings are just around the ice cream and it really doesn’t come out like it looks. It’s okay it is ice cream, but I’ve had better.

The first time my husband and I tried this place it was midafternoon on a Saturday in the summer. The line was long and it seemed very chaotic. We ended up leaving because it all seemed very hectic. The second time we attempted was on a Sunday evening, and it was a much better experience. They have 3 different flavors of soft serve ice cream. The strawberry flavor is vegan, so it was a great alternative for my lactose intolerant husband. We ended up getting two "specialty" cones - the Worms in the Dirt and the Berry Nice. The strawberries on the Berry Nice were very flavorful. The strawberry ice cream tasted more like sherbet. The brownies on the Dirt in the worms was soft and moist. The staff was energetic and friendly. TL;DR It was a great place to get a fancy ice cream cone. However don't go on a Saturday and if you are just getting ice cream go somewhere else.

I am not one to order Blizzards at DQ or even get anything super different. I decided to go a little different and order the Cookie Monster without sprinkles but added glitter..... glitter on ice cream what a great idea! I loved my MN Nice Cream and can't wait to go again when I visit MN. 1000% recommend you check this place out of you love ice cream and are in the area.

Yelp
Cute colorful location. The customer service gal couldn't remember our order, maybe it was the heat, maybe the smoke in the air. Some rather limited Soft serve varieties but key lime was unique. They do off two flavors vegan. Lots of toppings to choose from including free edible glitter. Plenty of tables outside but they were all dirty. Parking was a bit of a challenge, unless you were willing to pay.

Yelp
This place has been on my "to try" list for what feels like forever and I have finally made it to the Stillwater location! It did not disappoint. The entrance to the building was tucked away in some construction so it was a little awkward to get into the place but once you were in the atmosphere was so cute! We waited in line with lots of other people (always a good sign when a place is packed!), ordered our ice cream, and took a walk down by the river. It was such a wonderful little afternoon - my only complaint is that there isn't one in the south metro for me to frequent all the time!! I will be venturing up to Minneapolis to try the other location in the future.

Yelp
I have waited WAY too long to try MN Nice Cream & it did not disappoint! I went to the Stillwater location but they also have a location in NE Minneapolis. Such a cute ice cream shop with ice cream cones for chairs, a balloon wall & the location itself is right next to the Stillwater Lift Bridge so perfect to take your ice cream & sight see So many different flavors, cones and toppings to choose from as well as a specialty menu for the kid in me I mean who doesn't love a cake pop & edible glitter in their cone ~ I will be going back a lot this summer/fall!

Yelp
The soft serve itself was bland and a bit watery. The cones tasted and felt stale. The toppings were fun, and it's cool that they offer different "themes" everyday of different combinations you can easily order. The cones are served in another plastic cone, I'm guessing due to the stickiness of toppings? Maybe covid? Seems wasteful to me. Right now there's only outdoor seating. You order at a window and then it's brought out to you, or you can wait inside for your order with a mask on. Some people chose to wait inside since the walls are cute and make good pictures. There is not indoor-seating.

Yelp
I was so excited to see MNNice Cream move into Stillwater! They have so many fun options for toppings, and their cookie dough is to die for. As a bonus, all their ice creams are lactose free! They're also so sweet to pups - my dog is so accustomed to her pup cup that she cries when they're closed for the season. If there's one thing I wish were different, it'd be vegan options that are a little more tasty. The ones at the main location in Minneapolis are always so creative! But the options don't switch out a lot at Stillwater and the cake batter and coconut flavors have been a little weird texture- and taste-wise.

Yelp
This ice cream spot in downtown Stillwater was both adorable and yummy! The options were versatile in terms of size, type of dessert (ice cream, soft serve, shake, etc.), toppings, and flavors! If I were you, I would certainly give MN Nice Ice Cream a try.

Yelp
I thought I was going to be disappointed with boring soft serve ice cream...but this place rocks! The soft serve is good. But the main thing is they have a million toppings! They have some pretty cool cones too. I picked a green chai tea waffle cone. They have dairy-free ice cream too. Apparently, it's based on almond milk. I picked a black coconut cocoa non-dairy ice cream...topped it with fruity pebbles and edible glitter...put it all in a green waffle cone. It looked really cool and tasted great! You have to be careful when you eat the non-dairy ice cream because of the way it melts. It doesn't melt creamy style, like dairy ice cream. It melts more like water and will easily spill over the top of your cone or drip out the bottom like colored water. I got black drips all over my shorts. Oops! One other thing - they have a scratch n' sniff banana wall! Thumbs up! -Daddy Maxx Retro

Yelp
A great place for a cool treat on a hot day while walking around Stillwater. Lots of cool things that you can add to your soft serve to really spice it up including edible glitter, gummy worms, cookie dough, fruity pebbles, and many other fun toppings! They also have puppy chow and bacon as toppings for ice cream!? Yes please. If you are from a Minnesota / Wisconsin background you will also be pleased to find that they have Blue Moon flavored ice cream at this location in soft serve form. If you are not familiar with Blue Moon, it is an almond flavored treat. As an extra bonus, the Blue Moon is dairy free and made with Soy, Almond, and Coconut milks. It is delicious! A bold move to be right behind Leo's Ice Cream Shop, this place will definitely became a new anchor in Stillwater for tourists and locals alike! We will be back.

Yelp
My friend loved her Vanilla soft serve: 5 My chocolate soft serve was less intense than McDonalds: 3 Seating, location, service: 5 Average score = 4

Yelp
This is such a cute store to visit in the Summer. There's a cool truck you can take instagram worthy pictures by with your decked out icecream cone. This is one of my favorite places to get ice cream, because I love all of the fun toppings such as edible sprinkles and gummy strings, toasted marshmellows..so unique and the end result is a work of art. Their flavors are pretty good too. I think my favorite was the vegan lemon raspberry. There are a couple of reasons im giving it a 3 star though compared to my 5 stars for Izzy's. #1: The ice cream melts way too fast and there's nothing protecting against it except for a small napkin. It leaks through the bottom of the cone...I like it when they put something there as a surprise and I wish it did more to prevent the leaks! #2: the lines are too long in the summer. I usually wait like 30mins to get my ice cream. You have to be very dedicated and desperate for mnicecream to get it. #3: It's expensive, and if you choose your own toppings, even if it's the same amount of toppings as the set menu items, it ends up costing more. So a more cost effective way could be to choose the menu item that has most of the things you want on it and substitute it for something else. #4: Their flavors change all the time and I sometimes crave that lemon raspberry one but can't get it. And when I go there I never know what to expect. You might get one good flavor, maybe two, or maybe none..a gamble. But follow them on instagram to see their latest flavor and their promo posts like BOGO. Anyways, it's worth to try and take friends from out of town here since the ice cream cones are so instaworthy.

Yelp
Interesting and tasty creations! And who doesn't like edible glitter?? Fun place, will definitely be back.

Jordan S.

Yelp
We thought we'd try this ice cream shop instead of the well established Leo's malt shop.... we shoulda just went next door to Leo's! The soft serve chocolate and the cake batter were below par. Ick! The root beer float was ok though. Total bummer as it was nice and hot and wanted something good for the kids! The atmosphere at Leo's is also better as it has tradition and history.

Yelp
A great place for ice cream that turns into a memory making experience! Truly unique and one of a kind... from the edible glitter, the fun signature ice cream cones and flavors, the scratch and sniff wallpaper... this place will be a sensory delight to your eyes, nose and tastebuds. Fun and colorful decor, and ice cream almost to pretty to eat. And it tastes even better than it looks...even though one would think that to be impossible because the cone that is handed to you looks straight out of a food magazine. Gluten free and vegan options as well.

Amanda U.

Yelp
We enjoyed the make your own ice cream cups. The ice cream was great and service top notch! It was pretty fun having glitter on top, super cute touch and the kids love it of course. Ordering and picking up was easy and very covid-friendly.

Yelp
Ordered a dish of vanilla ice cream with caramel and peanut butter cups. Waited and waited, watched 5 people who ordered after me leave with ice cream. Finally mentioned that mine was forgotten. Was given a dish, not what I ordered, vanilla nice cream with a smidge of caramel and tons of jiffy, not peanut butter cups, it was disgusting! I complained to the server and cashier, neither cared. I tossed it and was out $7, glad I tipped ahead of time for horrible service ‍ Won't be back. Easier and tastier to buy a pint at Kowalski's!!

Stacy M.

Yelp
Updating my review to say that there have been some better vegan options lately. Still wish the basic vanilla was vegan, but the rest we tried have been delicious.

Yelp
We've made trips out to Stillwater just so we can grab an ice cream. We love their flavor combos and their staff is always friendly.

Yelp
just got a couple cones from the window and there was a tall beautiful friendly girl who greeted us and took our order. she had dark long hair. she was so sweet and made our day and told us we were really pretty. biggest crush on the pretty girl at stillwater mn nice cream

Yelp
Amazing ice cream place. Basic flavors, but a ton of toppings for 50 cents each. Was an amazing treat to get in a hot summer day.

Quinn W.

Yelp
This was not my favorite place to get ice cream. The ice cream was fine but the worker was very mean she made a sarcastic comment towards me that was rude and she rolled her eyes at my friend for dropping her money. Overall I would not recommend. If the cashier wasn't there it would've been a better experience. We went there on 8-2-19 and the cashier was a women.
