The Most Elegant Cocktail Bars in Miami | Eater

"What if you’re looking for the most elegant view in Miami? The vision beyond MO Bar’s floor-to-ceiling windows will take your breath away. Set inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Brickell Key, the MO Bar + Lounge shows off sweeping views of the Miami skyline. Such a sight to remember should be celebrated with a drink like the venerable Vieux Carré. A cocktail that dates back to Depression-era New Orleans, the Vieux Carré calls for a mix of cognac, rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, herbal Bénédictine, and plenty of aromatic bitters. Time your trip to MO Bar just right and you’ll be sipping your cocktail under the sunset as jazz and Latin music plays." - Vox Creative

Great service, beautiful views and very good food. Came here for lunch twice, got bento box and tuna salad, both were really really good. And I hear if you're lucky you can see the dolphins in the bay.

We wrapped up our spa day with a visit to MO Bar & Lounge — and it was a beautiful way to end the experience. The ambiance is elegant and relaxed, with stunning views that truly elevate the atmosphere. The food was delicious, the drinks were well-crafted, and the overall vibe was perfect for unwinding. It’s a great spot to enjoy a bite and take in the scenery. The only downside was the cleanliness — for a hotel of this caliber, I expected the space to be a bit more polished. Still, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I’d definitely come back for the view and the great cocktails.

Our recent visit to Mo Bar & Lounge at Mandarin Oriental was an unforgettable experience, filled with stunning views, impeccable service, and delightful culinary creations. we were captivated by its chic ambiance and panoramic vistas. The views from the lounge are truly unparalleled, offering a breathtaking backdrop of the city skyline that left us in awe. Despite the lounge being quite full on a Friday evening, the service remained exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable evening. As for the cocktails and bites, they exceeded all expectations. We indulged in a variety of expertly crafted cocktails, each bursting with flavour and creativity. The tuna tataki was an absolute standout, with its perfectly seared texture and delicate flavours leaving our taste buds dancing with joy. To top it all off, the music selection was on point. We were treated to the vibrant sounds of Cuban music, which added an extra layer of excitement to our evening. It was truly a delight to sip cocktails, savor delicious bites, and listen to the rhythm of the music in such a lively atmosphere. Mo Bar & Lounge at Mandarin Oriental is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy an unforgettable stylish evening in Miami. With its breathtaking views, impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and vibrant ambiance, it's the perfect spot for a romantic date night or a fun evening out with friends. We can't wait to return for another memorable experience.

You're on your very own island.... My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway here!!! This place is 5 stars everything!! The views were amazing. The pool was as if you were in the ocean itself. Room service and every single person that worked there, made you feel welcomed and special!!! We will definitely be booking again.

Google
Mo Bar is located within the Madrian Oriental and is a special place to have a drink at night or breakfast in the morning. Any time we have ever been there during our stay in Miami the service has been outstanding and the food/atmosphere has been great. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough for a sophisticated night out or a nice quiet breakfast in the morning.

Google
Excellent bar inside the mandarin oriental hotel in the lobby. Excellent music, Renoir's wonderful music group. you can have a very pleasant time and eat well

Google
Adreina and Alex are the greatest bartenders. Tamir is the new beverage director and makes everyone feel at home. I had some creep hit on me and the staff was so nice afterwards. I will always come back. Great happy hour drinks and live music on Fri and Sat nights. Food is top notch. Wings and burger are the best

Andreas Aristidou

Google
Very nice and cute spot. Classy on the inside with a great view of downtown Miami. Music was relaxed and it was quiet (mind you we were here at 3pm) Drinks are ok and service was so so. Some of us wanted coffee which was not on the menu.
google avatar

Almira F.

Yelp
I hosted a work event with roughly 80 people . The manager Tamir couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Our attendees / clients were raving over the ambiance and view , true to the Mandarin brand . Having lived in Hk and now NyC based , I've visited / stayed at the other locations which are both consistent with the brand . We availed of the happy hour drink menu ( the Paloma was delish and the Vodka gimlet while the social punch was a bit too sour / bitter for my taste ) . My colleagues and I decided to stay after the event for dinner and enjoyed the food . While they're tasty , the servings were on the small side . I recommend sticking to the Asian dishes ( sushi and sashimi ) and less ie on the Cuban/ western menu ( empanadas and steak ) . Service was impeccable and so is the ambiance so I'll certainly be back to check out the band later part of the week

Yelp
MO Bar is a hidden gem with spectacular views, excellent service, tasty snacks and an excellent tiramisu martini (seasonal). Be sure to visit while you still can!

Yelp
We went here Saturday night for their live music, drinks and light bites. Our server Starr was the best, she offered great recommendations for food and drinks and kept an eye on us all night. I had the Anticucho roll and it was delicious. I ordered the Brickell Key cocktail and it was a great choice. The lounge had the lights down just right. The music was a tad too loud and it was hard to hear the person across from you. All in all, I had a great time and would return.
google avatar

Rajiv K.

Yelp
First time at MO bar and lounge. They had a nice jazz band as advertised on a Saturday with classy indoor seating. Great service by Pamela and her supporting staff. Well made drinks and beer menu. I enjoyed their sushi rolls; very high quality and fresh sea food. Looking around I saw people equally dressed up and dressed a little casual, but I'd say perhaps they're going for a classier vibe. As it's a hotel, there is an eclectic crowd. Singles, families with kids, and couples old and young. Seemed like all were equally enjoying all the same with no awkwardness. I'd return and recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
The Mandarin Oriental lobby bar is fantastic. The drinks and staff were excellent. Bianca and Star, who waited on us, beautiful ladies w a willingness to make you feel welcome. On Saturday evenings, they have a live Latin jazz band. Fantástico! Will definitely be back when in Miami. Ladies, thank you for your smiles and helpfulness. Hugs for all

Yelp
Visited the Mo Bar for their special happenings for the lunar new year. Even though the Mo Bar is always amazing, my expectations weren't high since Miami (particularly Brickell) isn't always the best with Asian traditions. But they really did a beautiful job making it festive! When we came in, they had a beautiful "wishing tree" and lanterns. My friends and I were able to write and hang our wishes on the tree. They also had a special musical duo playing beautifully on the violin and piano. The special food and drinks they had were worth checking out - the lamb dumplings were outstanding and our special lunar new year drinks had our crowd pulling out their phones to video the impressive dry ice dragon! Definitely will be back next year to celebrate lunar new year at the Mandarin!
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
The MO Bar at Mandarin Oriental is a top tier cocktail bar. It's going to be a shame when they demolish the hotel to build a new one. Hopefully the new place has something like this. The vibe is upscale yet not austere. The bartenders are all very friendly and the drinks, though expensive, are worth it. On the weekend they frequently have live music which makes this a great spot to hang out. A gem.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
As always the MO Bar (and the rest of the Mandarin) is just perfection. I fell in love with my now-wife here, and we just celebrated our anniversary with our favorite cocktails including truffle blue cheese olives in the martini. Truly a wonderful place.
google avatar

Rebekah M.

Yelp
I had the most amazing experience grabbing a cocktail at this lounge. The live music was spectacular, and the service was exquisite! They have different live music Wednesday-Saturday I believe. Definitely will be returning!

Adelle G.

Yelp
Happy Hour does not include any food or bites only drinks. Limited cocktail choices but tasty. Amazing views & It gets packed after 6:30pm.

Yelp
If you're looking to have a good time, I highly recommend you visit Mo bar and lounge, which is located in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Brickell key. As soon as you walk into the hotel, you will be welcomed by the beautiful panoramic skyline of Miami and water views. You will be entertained by live music which includes swing jazz piano, contemporary pop, Spanish or Cuban jazz depending on which day and time you visit. The lounge offers a very comfortable, chic and luxurious feel. We ordered a few cocktails which were delicious and dessert to end the night. We ordered the chocolate tart and the raspberry lychee tart which were both delightful. Our server was not as attentive as I would like but nonetheless my friends and I had a wonderful time.

Jessica V.

Yelp
Hope so much the new hotel will have live music that Miami is missing. Beautiful bar area and music. More mature crowd, sophisticated.

Yelp
You can definitely catch my full review on MO's Yelp page, but I wanted to leave this review here too since it is specific to the bar & lounge. I made my way down to MO Bar & Lounge after putting my luggage away and wow. Alex and Victor, you guys are nothing short of amazing, but especially Victor who made sure to make my birthday very special. He came to me with recommendations on how to make my stay worthwhile (places to visit, etc) & they also sent over a sweet bday dessert. The rest of the staff were great as well. You can tell they love their jobs and work super hard to provide impeccable service to all customers and guests. The bar made me not want to leave the hotel at all because I just felt like I had everything I needed. Good food, good drinks, plenty of laughs, and making new friends. I won't lie, I felt like I pretty much lived at the bar, lol. I even spent time at the bar on my birthday after having dinner at La Mar (which was splendid) & I was able to catch the pianist perform. He found out it was my birthday and dedicated a special song to me (and also sent over a birthday dessert). A song that was so beautiful & made me feel a few deep emotions (but happy emotions). I'll never forget that, thank you Francisco. I absolutely *love* the piano, so this made my heart incredibly happy! 200% recommended. These guys will take great care of you!
google avatar

Yisell D.

Yelp
Live music, good drinks , great service and good ambiance. Had a couple of drinks before eating at La Mar and we very much enjoyed it this lounge. The live music was amazing and the drinks although expensive (expected) were pretty awesome. Complementary grapes and snacks are served. Try "his favorite" amazing drink !

Yelp
This was an absolutely lovely lunch. The customer service of our water was phenomenal. I asked for orange juice and they didn't have any on the menu so he had another part of the hotel fresh squeeze me some and have it delivered to the table. Spicy tuna roll and the side salad that accompany the turkey club are to die for. Beautiful views all around.
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
Five stars for sure! This is the definition of a resto-lounge! Went for a birthday meet up. The waiter immediately brought us a complimentary birthday dessert (before we ate, but that's okay!). The wait staff literally bend down on their knees to take your order! The drinks are beautiful to look and amazing to eat. Salmon roll and seaweed salad was my fave! They serve mainly appetizer type dishes but with a couple of them you can absolutely make a filling meal. On the weekends they have a live band that plays a great upbeat variety of tunes - including great reggae covers! If you are looking for a place where you can get up and dance (or watch others) this is a great spot. It is by no means a club but people do pop up and dance when they feel the vibe! The crowd was surprisingly local which we appreciated! Not too crowded, just right. A very nice clientele as well. Check out the video to see the scene/action!

Yelp
One of the great hotel bars in the U.S. It occupies an entire end of the Mandarin Oriental lobby and is surrounding by a sort of bamboo "fence" that defines the space. There are lots of tables and several seats at the bar itself. Many of the tables have nifty little knickknacks on them that look like sea urchins. The space benefits from the impossibly high ceilings with giant windows behind the bar that allow for a spectacular vista of downtown Miami and the bay. The servers are terrific and when you order a vodka tonic, it comes with an individual bottle of juniper-flavored tonic water. They also have a nice food menu and I became addicted to the spicy crunchy tuna roll. The specialty drinks are also expertly made and cover a huge variety of styles and ingredients.
google avatar

JoCat R.

Yelp
I love me some MO Bar on a Friday night. I absolutely love the ambiance and the Cuban Jazz Band that plays starting at 8pm on Friday evenings. The sushi is fresh and the cocktails are all excellent. Also, the views are breathtaking!

Yelp
Great spot!!! Good happy hour and the live music is amazing especially with the acoustics!! Good drinks and bites so I recommend this spot for happy hour and later!! All good experience but I took one star off because the male bartender was distant and rude two nights in a row. I hope his female colleague doesn't have to split the tips as she was doing awesome.
google avatar

Denise D.

Yelp
Ohhhh well !!!! Let me tell you the drinks here were FABULOUS ( and I say that with a singing tone ) the place is of course gorgeous and the service was amazing !! Our waitress was hysterical and friendly and attentive!! Along with our drinks we got some amazing happy hour food that I think I have dreams about LOL there was short rib sliders that were so tender and tasty we got some tacos that were also delicious and we got salmon hand roll and wow I'm not sure which I liked best but maybe for me the sliders or maybe it was my cocktail I'm not sure but it was a great time so don't miss out on the happy hour !!!

Leigh B.

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and energy! We sat on the patio and had beautiful ocean views. Their happy hour is from 4-7 pm, and a great time to go to catch the sunset! Service was quick, and the staff were friendly. Recommend!

Yelp
I enjoyed myself here. Stopped in for a couple of hours with my husband one evening during my birthday stay here a few months back. Vibe is pleasantly chill - dim lighting, candlelight and plush/swanky seating. All around sleek setting. There was live music the night we were there which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the Angus burger (came with fries) as well as the artisanal cheese platter and a couple of rounds of drinks. Enjoyed everything. We also stopped in one afternoon and sat on the patio outside overlooking a view of the water. Enjoyed the breeze and the great view while having a couple of drinks - my Moscow mule was really good. They served our drinks up with nuts with a spicy seasoning which were replenished when we devoured the first small bowl. Yum! Service was pleasant and efficient. This is something I'd do upon returning to the Mandarin Oriental, which I definitely look forward to in the near future.
google avatar

Yelp
Went on a date and although the relationship flipped the memory of this place lives on... the vibe was fantastic ... laidback yet classy and swanky... the service was phenomenal and the jazz band set a fabulous mood

Yelp
Just recently met my friend at the bar for a quick Happy Hour on a Tuesday night.  The bar is located at the lobby level of the hotel, right when you come in.  They have a happy hour which they call "Social Hour" from 5p-8p.  The cocktails are $9, wine $7 and some beers $5.  It also includes some bites for $5 which are pretty good.  We tried the short rib slider and the taco al pastor and they were both pretty good.  The portions were a bit small to share so we decided to double on the orders.   The highlight of the place is really the view.  They have inside seating with limited seats overlooking the bay but you can also seat outside and have a better panoramic view.   The bar is located inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel.  I would recommend to go if you are looking for something more of a low-key type of night with some fantastic views (maybe a date).  There were not many people when I went but not sure if the ambiance gets "really Happy"  perhaps on a Friday night.  I would have to check it out myself one of these days.  I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a happening place.  I believe the bar downstairs by the Le Mer Restaurant could get a bit better when it comes to ambiance.  We have to remember that this is more of a Lobby Bar
google avatar

Yelp
I have visited MO several times and have always enjoyed my experience. My Old Fashioned was very good. They always have the best snacks. If looking for a nice bar in the Brickell area, MO is a good choice.
google avatar

Michaelle R.

Yelp
Drinks are amazing! My go to if you like a strong drink is the El Presidente which is featured on there happy hour. Oh and they have happy hour daily! The Buffalo wings were the best I've had in Miami so far. They also have live music on Saturday night. The vibe, the food and drinks all 10/10.

Yelp
MO Drinks Please! We "planned" a Sunday with hitting up a bunch of places in Miami for food and drinks, being the fatties that we are, stopping at one place wouldn't do. The reason why I use quotes for the word planned, is because we didn't plan everything that carefully. Our first stop was the Mandarin Oriental Hotel which has a few dining options. We were actually planning on going to La Mar but didn't realize that it was only Sunday Brunch from Noon to 3:30pm and since we had planned on going to hit up some other places we decided to go to MO Bar. We came around 1pm, which made our options limited. MO Bar has a Sushi Rolls Menu from 11am to 11pm, and they also have two salads and two sandwich options. Since we were already planning on going to get Sushi at another restaurant during one of our later stops, we decided not to eat sushi now. In addition, we weren't in the mood for the salad or sandwich options either. They did have a small plates menu that we would have ordered food off of, however that menu doesn't start until 3pm. As a result, we decided to just start boozing it up. My wife got a Mojito while I got an Old Fashioned and we sat outside and enjoyed the view. Drinks were great, and it definitely has a cool vibe that I enjoyed. Probably going to need to rent a room in this hotel soon.
google avatar

Rei D.

Yelp
Incredibly good sushi!!! Very nice drinks! All greatly served!!!! Very friendly personnel!
google avatar

Lindsey M.

Yelp
We visited on a Thursday for social hour aka happy hour (5-7p). We each tried a cocktail and then the happy hour's sauvignon blanc. We were greeted with ice waters and some trays of nuts/crackers and delicious olives. We also shared a sushi roll and each had a Caesar salad. Everything was super yummy and really fresh. Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Views at sunset are spectacular.
google avatar

Diya G.

Yelp
Gorgeous outdoor views of Brickell! Located on Brickell Key inside the Mandarin Oriental, this bar / lounge is a must go for drinks. The inside seating is cozy and comfy with lounge chairs and high tops and the outdoor area only has four high tops for an intimate seating with attentive service from the waitstaff.
google avatar

Nia A.

Yelp
Drinks are amazing, they also have great happy hour deals. Lovely outdoor seating, but definitely stay inside on live music nights, it's gorgeous.

M B.

Yelp
Fun spot that often has live music (sometimes it's way too loud and I rarely ever think this) with your usual upscale drinks which are slightly expensive.
google avatar

Jordan P.

Yelp
this place would be great after work to decompress, have a drink and watch the sun set. the view is amazing and the ambiance is very chill. it's right in the lobby as soon as you walk in to the hotel so you don't have to search for it. the offer complimentary snacks and light foods. i'd definitely come back to relax.

Frank M.

Yelp
Best view of downtown Miami. That was the best part. The food was ok, not great. The plate I ordered was so hot it burned my tongue. Our waiter, the worst. Never explained the menu. We don't even know if they had any chefs special. We ordered sushi; he never brought the right utensils. We had a good time because of the view, not the Restaurant. If I go back, it is to have a drink and enjoy the view. If I have the same server, I'll leave. Will I recommend the Restaurant. No, I'll recommend the bar in the hotel lobby. The bar has the same view of the city, and I hear they have great appetizers.
google avatar

Yelp
For instant high class vacation vibes. I came on a Friday around 6:30pm with a group for "social hour" (everyday 5-8pm). I was pleasantly surprised by how bustling, but not overcrowded the bar/lounge was. Select cocktails are $8, while "bites" from the kitchen are $5 each. For food, I ordered the Tostones Slider, Salmon Cone, and Spicy Tuna Cone and braced for what I thought would be tiny bite-sized portions. But again, I was pleasantly surprised. Between all of us, we ordered multiple of all the bites on the menu- you really can't go wrong with any of the options! As for drinks, the Social Punch was my favorite. Top things off with an amazing water view right on Brickell Key, friendly servers, and live music around 8pm... would highly recommend for a chill, relaxing night. Bonus: they serve complimentary snacks (olives and wasabi cracker mix) with drink orders.
google avatar

Rihab M.

Yelp
Very nice quiet place with a simple and classy decoration. There are table outside with an amazing view on Brickell high rises and the bay. The sushis were good enough.
google avatar

Ivonne D.

Yelp
What a great place for cocktails. They really have exceptional bartenders. My favorite is the Social Punch. I do not usually like mixed drinks, but the Social Punch is just perfection. Deliciously made, not too sweet, not too bitter. I believe it's made with Bourbon, but don't let that deter you, if you're not a Bourbon fan... neither am I, and I just cant get enough of this drink. But careful... you will feel the alcohol. Not only is the service amazing, but the views are spectacular. I recommend this place for HH with friends. They have a balcony, where you can sit and enjoy the gorgeous Brickell city views on a nice night. Love taking friends and family from out of town there, for the amazing view and service.
google avatar

Tess H.

Yelp
In the mood to sip a delicious cocktail while staring at a beautiful view of the Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami? If so, this is your place. This is a very classy bar/lounge located in the Mandarin Oriental hotel. Valet is available for $12 which isn't to bad for Miami (don't forget to the have the bar stamp your valet ticket). As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly bartender, who let us know we could sit either inside or outside on the balcony. We wanted to sit outside, but all the tables were taken. So we sat inside until our server let us know there was a table open outside, which was super sweet of her. The service the whole night was outstanding. Even though the bar was pretty busy, our waitress made sure to check on us and keep the drinks flowing. Onto the drinks, AH-mazing! The cocktails are strong and delicious, just how I like 'em! The happy hour options are great, all of the smalls plates that we had were delicious. I had the Daiquiri and the Moscow mule, which were both amazing. The regular menu was pretty pricey, but the high-end tasty cocktails and luxurious ambiance makes the prices very much worth it. Our experience was great our first visit to MO, I can't wait for our next visit so I can try some of the sushi!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
We had a great time coming here for happy hour! There are $8 cocktail specials and $5 food specials, which kept this way cheaper than I anticipated. There's plenty of booze to choose from, and the food menu is also pretty extensive. This could work as a romantic date, business lunch or even family gathering. I enjoyed my Moscow mule and cheese plate with fresh bread! The view of the bay is great, and the service was prompt. It's a classy spot, so make sure to look the part!
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
They have the best food, service and music here, definitely worth a trip from Fort Lauderdale. This place is truly amazing and hard to put into words.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for cocktails in the mandarin oriental hotel with some food/snack options such as fish tacos or AL pastor tacos with live music during weekends
google avatar

Krishnan J.

Yelp
Great view of the Miami shoreline. Nothing special in terms of cocktails or service. Did not eat here

Yelp
10 stars for Pamela the bartender! Recommendations, drinks and her spirit made this an unforgettable experience.

Yelp
I've been coming to the MoBar for a few months now and all I can say is that it is hands down my favorite bar in Miami! From the moment you arrive valet welcomes you with a smile and the bellman always hold the door open for you. The drinks are always going above and beyond my expectations. Jose never ceases to amaze me not only does he make amazing drinks but the way he makes the drinks feel theatrical! It's like watching a live performance! The support staff and other bartenders always have a warm welcoming smile! The food is also great my favorite is short rib tostones as a started with the burger. From time to time I enjoy smoking a nice cigar and luckily they have a nice selection and a balcony with a stunning view of the Miami skyline where I go and enjoy my cigar alongside my drink! The Bathrooms are always clean and have a decent amount of privacy which is a huge plus! If you haven't gone yet i highly recommend it!
google avatar

JT B.

Yelp
We came here for an impromptu lunch. The staff was very courteous and the food was fresh. Salad was $18 and a half bottle of sparkling water $5. A sophisticated yet casual vibe with a good view. We look forward to trying the happy hour.
google avatar

Laura V.

Yelp
Loved this bar/lounge inside Mandarin Oriental Hotel. They have live jazz and bartenders really know what they are doing. It has dim lighting and a relax feel to it. It is not a party type of scene but if you like a nice relaxing evening for couple of drinks this is definitely a place to try. Cons: being from New York, this place closes early for me.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Located in The Mandarin Oriental Hotel right over the bridge leading to Brickell Key. You will find the bar right in the lobby area overlooking the La Mar Restuarant . Beautiful view of the water and downtown Miami. Even better happy hour $5 snacks and small bites, $8 fancy cocktails. The whole set up of this space was well thought out, spacious, elegant, and great ambiance. The service was spectacular that I received from Daniella and Karina. I'll be coming back for sure. Parking was a bit difficult to figure out, had to park across the bridge and trek my way over. But the views and sites were worth the walk.
