Yelp
Listed as one of the top bars in the world, we made time during the trip to visit and experience what got them on the list. Reservations are a must and I was able to snag one through email. Communication was a bit tough so it was a good thing I planned early in case it took awhile to finalize.
Located inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel (hence the MO Bar name), the bar features a beautifully curated menu with Asian themes. I particularly liked how the they had an alcohol content system to help patrons pick something more suited for them. Each drink sets you back about SGD$20 and that kept us from doing multiple orders. But although we each didn't order a lot, because of our large group, we got to try almost every drink.
Honeybee: This reminded me of a whiskey sour, not the kind from dive bars. It was frothy and creamy, sweet from the honey. Alcohol content is listed as Medium but it didn't taste that strong to me. Out of all the drinks tried, this was my favorite.
Holi: I was worried that the buttermilk would make it too sweet but it balances out really nice with all the spices in there. The aesthetic of the drinks is inspired by Holi, a festival celebrated with vibrant colors. Alcohol content is listed as Low, and I agree.
Other interesting drinks included Satay By the Bay, which was more of a savory drink. The Ube by itself is a creamy, non-alcoholic drink but you can pay for whisky to add in! Lap Sang was really hard for all of us to drink since it tasted like straight whisky.
Highly recommend trying at least once! If cocktails aren't your scene, they also host afternoon tea with a wide selection of finger foods, pastries, and of course, teas.
