This dessert shop is truly a hidden gem! The customer service is outstanding—everyone is so friendly, polite, and efficient. We placed our order quickly and tried a variety of items. The Snow Bowl stood out as the highlight of our visit. We ordered the Mango Snow Bowl, Matcha Snow Bowl, and Taro Snow Bowl, and each one was absolutely delicious! We also tried a couple of their mochis, which were fresh and flavorful. The interior design is charming and cozy, making it a great place to relax. They have adorable cat and flower paintings on the walls, complemented by colorful seating—a pink sofa, a yellow leather couch, a blue sofa, and some wooden elements that add warmth to the space. It’s Instagram-worthy for sure! One thoughtful touch is the large jar of ice water in the corner, which is perfect for refreshing yourself after indulging in sweet treats. The location is 14310 Culver Dr Suite #E, Irvine, CA 92604, situated in Heritage Plaza. Parking is very convenient as the plaza provides ample parking spaces, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot even during busy hours. Everything was nearly perfect, but I did have a couple of small concerns. Some items on the menu weren’t available, which was a bit disappointing. Also, the Snow Bowls came with red bean topping by default, and we weren’t asked if we wanted it. Personally, I’m not a fan of red bean, so that’s something I’d recommend asking customers about during the ordering process. That said, the overall vibe of this place is fantastic! It’s quiet, positive, and a great spot to hang out with friends, enjoy dessert, or even study or work. I’ll definitely be coming back to make more content and try other menu items. Highly recommend this place!

Google
I have a huge sweet tooth and this place nails all the points I love in a dessert spot! From ice cream to cream puffs to macaroons! Lots of flavors and they tasted fresh. Not stale or flavorless. My all time favorite is the Ube and matcha creamed puff. The location was small, clean and friendly staff which made this place a great spot to relax and enjoy a treat.

Google
Great desserts, no doubt, but different story on the staffs, no eye contact or greeting from them. After waiting about 7-10 minutes, we got our order. Their fork, spoons and, knife trays were empty so I asked for few forks to the person over the counter, a short guy with glasses was saying something like “you can get them from the next door”. I could be wrong since it was echoing in side the store. But then I had to show the other staff that their silver trays are empty, and that’s how I got few forks.

Great Place to have a desserts. I tried Cream Puff tasting was sweet but not to sweet, purenperfection. I also tried the chocolate macaroons which was perfect chocolate, I also tried the deal of 5 mochis which were delicious. The Jasmine milk Tea was not as well as some others it was warm and tasted watering.Place was clean and well organized. The bathroom were clean besides the toilet. At first when I enter the place it smell like sweat but then after a little it smelled better. The person who attend us ,the cashier she was forgetful ,not focused and seem like she didn't know how to do her job. Other than that it was pretty amazing! I would recommend this place but need better cashiers! Ice cream was super delicious and wonderful. I am so going back here!

Google
Good place in the area to visit , it’s very popular among Asians , for Asian style of bakery and coffee . I could not relate to it but I would call if lack of my understanding or taste . Over all good coffee and good sitting location for a small groups z

Google
From papa bear cream puffs, ice cream filled mochi, ice cream macarons, dipping dots ice cream, to shaved ice, it’s a one stop dessert place. The place is spacious, clean and family oriented. We will definitely come back!

Google
Try every puff cake. Strawberry shortcake is my favorite so far. Lots of Mochi options available 👍🏽 Update: 6/28/23 I had previously given this spot a 5 star review but after todays service I’m dropping it to 2. The lower score is solely on confusing menu and horrible service by the girl on the register today. She can take some tips from the younger dude that was helping fill the puffs. He at least tried to provide some sort of service to his customers.

The croissant taiyaki was very good. The outside was crispy and a little sweet. The inside cream I chose was custard.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
Yum!!! Their small milk snow is a must try! My kiddos and I love it. Clean and neat eatery.,

Linda K.

Yelp
This place shares with Papa Beard. We were in the area and wanna give this place a try to fulfill my crave. The portion is quite 'big' for a small portion. We also ordered Taiyaki (which unfortunately no pic taken). All tasted decent to us, same as another shaved ice place. The stand out factor is the decor which considered quite cozy. Service was straight forward, order when we came and we got called by our receipt number.

Erwin R.

Yelp
The mochi ice cream is pretty inconsistent. Different flavors had different consistency for the ice cream. Some were nice and creamy while others were biting into a popsicle. The croissant taiyaki was okay. We got garlic and cheese, nutella and custard. The filling for the custard was good but for the Nutella, it was barely filled. You can buy little stuff like smiskis and other blind boxes so that's cool. Service is good. Place seems like a nice place to study and relax.

Nancy L.

Yelp
After eating dinner in the plaza we came to Mochi to have dessert. It was a cold day so we had hot drinks and taiyaki. I love how they have a big variety of desserts and lots of tables so we can hang out and have good conversation.

Amanda G.

Yelp
Cute inside with plenty of seating and quick service. We ordered a single mango mochi and it was so good! The seasonal beard papa with strawberry filling was a great combination. It was cutely decorated and filled with lots of filling.

Nikki N.

Yelp
We ordered two puffs to go: original crust with vanilla filing, along with Oreo crust with matcha filling. They filled them once the order was placed, so the curst still kept a nice crunch after our 30+ minute drive home. The pate a choux was pleasant, and the vanilla creme/custard filling was not overly sweet either. I think they complement each other well. In terms of the consistency, the matcha custard was way too runny. It became almost impossible to eat while trying to maintain some human decency... the filling would gush out when a bite was attempted. While we did enjoyed the matcha flavor, it failed as a "puff" filling. The original was a little cheaper than the other crust, but the white chocolate on the Oreo crust kept the puff crispier after an extended period of time.

Reese J.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Love that there is a variety of sweet desserts! Love the ambiance, with indoor and outdoor seating. Love the aesthetics and that it offers merch! Customer service was great and it didn't take long for our order to be ready! I would definitely recommend!

Lori M.

Yelp
Was driving around Irvine looking for a dessert place and found this adorable place in a shopping center. Super clean, adorable, and smelled soo good. They had mochi ice creams in many many flavors. Bought the green tea and strawberry. It was very tasty. The tayaki looked a bit unusual but tasted great. Had a great selection of blind boxes, I may have bought 6. I wish it was closer to my house but I would definitely come back and try more flavors of mochi ice creams.

Kayla S.

Yelp
When you walk in this place is connected with a beard papa and has other pastries! I got a matcha latte iced and it was yummy! It was a little too milky for my likely, but was not too sweet. I was pleasantly surprised! They also sell smiskis and sonny angels (they are a bit over priced). I like the location and the inside has plenty of tables to sit and to study.

Jancy W.

Yelp
Food was pretty bad, the mochi is just like where you can get from the grocery market, the mochi skin is so hard, would not recommend.

Judy D.

Yelp
It's an interesting store with variety of desserts, I was a bit confused of what to get since they have different items from drinks, gelato, mochi, cream puffs and bingso. We ended up with a box of beard papa cream puffs and they were delicious! Not the cheapest cream puffs roughly $4-$5 bucks a piece but they were good.

Alyssa T.

Yelp
A cute dessert cafe in the Irvine area. They have a lot of different options, and everyone in our group was able to find something that they really liked. The mochi ice cream had a good texture, but the flavors from the ice cream weren't very strong. The mango milk snow tasted good and it was a good ratio of ice to toppings. The cream puffs are always good and there are plenty of shell and filling options available.

Mika N.

Yelp
I have been here numerous times. Food is good as always. Love the cream puffs and shaved ice. Their baristas have bad attitudes and no facial expressions. I hope I heard it wrong... but some of those baristas were talking about some bad stuff(body shaming) about someone. I know this is an Asian shop so they probably think it's ok to say those horrible things.

Joy K.

Yelp
Spacious and delicious. My go-to place for cream puff in Irvine. They also have seatings outside.

Alice S.

Yelp
I'm here just for the croissant taiyaki. Love the one with the custard inside, they put so much custard in there it's great! Get 3 of them!

Serena H.

Yelp
The store sells a variety of desserts inside, but this time, I came for the Mochi Ice Cream. They have a buy-five-get-one-free offer, and each one costs $2.35. It's not exactly cheap, but unfortunately, most of the mochi I received was too frozen, and I couldn't taste the texture at all. I was quite disappointed after eating them.

Desiree D.

Yelp
I don't know who hurt the cafe workers here but they won't let you sample any of the gelatos before buying a cup and they also won't let you pick your own shaved ice flavors. Weirdest thing I've ever heard of from a gelato shop or a shaved ice spot. We ended up getting the Hawaiian shaved ice and it was a whole lot of meh. The shop was cute and the art of the wall was adorable but ultimately the service and options are subpar.

Charles N.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hangout place to eat some sweets, come here. Just know that there's only red light foods here and for sure your insulin level will spike! But if you think it's worth it, then why not? The servers are nice, and the selections of sweets are plentiful. There's seating s outside, which is nice on a summer day, but it can be too cold on some days.

Jamie S.

Yelp
best bingsoo/shaved snow place in irvine. although it's definitely a bit pricey, it's about the same price as sul and beans and the bingsoo here is way more flavorful. i'll always come back for the mango and the classic red bean. service and atmosphere is just usual, nothing special but theres good indoor and outdoor seating

Teresa L.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place after I saw some of the reviews. Just a bit too disappointing for me. The inside is spacious, cute, and modern. They have interesting little things for sale outside of the desserts. I have to admit, I didn't know what each one was as I browsed. Once in line, we decided to get the chocolate with chocolate filling and the creme brûlée. The experience with the cashier was awkward. We weren't really greeted, so the exchange was basically us asking a question. She responded in a flat tone, like she really didn't want to be there or maybe she was annoyed. Not sure, but in any case it felt like a Walmart interaction. I was looking forward to the crème brûlée, but I found it not to taste anything like crème brûlée. It tasted more like a melted marshmallow on top of a creme puff. We placed our other purchases in the refrigerator and by the next morning there was no puff left, they literally had become melted sandwiches. I grew up eating real creme puffs as my mother was Italian, so I knew this was not that traditional type of creme puff. Nonetheless it should have kept its "puff." To be honest, we didn't even eat them because they no longer looked appetizing. They were about five bucks a piece, so it felt like not only a wasted trip, but a total waste of what should have been tasty dessert. Would not recommend at all. Go to cream pan instead!!!

Stanley R.

Yelp
I just happened in here to ask a question. I decided I needed a cappuccino and a cream puff. The atmosphere inside this place is totally chill. The ice creams looked scrumptious. My cream puff was so fresh and delicious. The cappuccino was spot on. The service was fast and friendly. They have some kind of collection of characters for sale as well. I have no idea really. I'm giving it five stars. Donut and coffee, perfect!

Karla R.

Yelp
Mango Mochi is the go to! It's delicious. The service is good. The place is super cute!

Kathy V.

Yelp
I saw the word Mochi and instantly I thought ooh why not? Mochi consists of a cafe serving desserts. Desserts include different flavors of Mochi, Mochi Donuts, Beard Papas, ice cream macaroons, and gelato ice cream. Knit knacks sold and plenty of young teens hanging out. I didn't really like the Mochi but I sure do love Beard Papas!

Jackii C.

Yelp
I ONLY COME HERE FOR THE SNOW!!!! You also can't go wrong with any of the snow flavors. They all taste SO GOOD so I highly recommend!!! I definitely love the Oreo one tho, that is my go-to!

Raneem K.

Yelp
I've heard a lot about this place and I was really excited to try it out. I came here mainly for the mochi ice cream and the bts merch I heard of. I was so sad to have gone when they were sold out of a lot of merch I was looking for (mainly from my bias ). The overall atmosphere is really nice , I like the seating area and how spacious it is. The service is good and the mochi ice cream is decent. I wasn't blown away by it but i did enjoy it. My favorite flavor was the lychee!

Emily O.

Yelp
they have a variety of desserts to choose from like milk snow, mochi ice cream, gelato, specialty drinks & also savory items like fried rice and rice cakes. there were so many yummy options to choose from! we tried the Mango Milk Snow and it was DELICIOUS! it was filled w/ mangoes & i loved how the mango syrup was layered in the milk snow & not just on top. i'll definitely be ordering this again and i'm excited to try their other flavors like the strawberry milk snow.

Scott K.

Yelp
I couldn't believe what Amazing pasty treats and customer service and delicious wonderful pastries just an absolutely great vibe and so friendly and spacious environment. I felt like I was in a whole New World of Zen meditation while I ate these cream puffs really delicious delicious go see the staff with smiles.

Prianka S.

Yelp
3.5 rounding up to 4, only because my macaron was not bouncy as it should be. I tried the green tea mochi gelato and the rose water macaron gelato sandwich. They were good, but the macaron itself was so hard. I think it needs to be stored in a slightly different temperature.

Phi D.

Yelp
After dinner we decided to walk on over to get some beard papas since I haven't had any for years now and I remember how delicious they were when I was in college. I don't know if the changes management since then, but I felt the dynamic has changed since 2011. Service was mediocre, not great and not horrible. To my surprise I didn't know card transaction was minimum $5 so instead of the cream filling that I wanted I got the ice cream filling because it's an additional $1.25 which Oz my one puff pastry over $6. Disappointedly, the patty itself was extremely dry and the ice cream was nothing special. If anything, it was super crystallized which made it flavorless and makes me question if the ice cream is old since that's how crystallization works through time. I'm disappointed that I couldn't get the cream, which they are known for and should probably get rid of the ice cream addition unless they could commit to fresh pastry, which I'll doubt. The ambiance is pretty peaceful but it was also close to 9 pm. Unsure what is like during the day

Victoria L.

Yelp
Cute convenient spot. Not my favorite spot for shaved ice as the ice isn't creamy - more like thicker ice bits - so depending on what you're looking for, have a heads up. Flavor wise, tried the sesame bowl with red beans... good in flavor but i like my ice creamier or softer. Beards and papas cream puffs are also inside of this location. Decorations super cute inside too

Christine N.

Yelp
Their croissant taiyaki is life changing , so unique and yummy! Their cream puffs are also a win. They also sell smiskis and sonny angels (sometimes)

Arnold T.

Yelp
A great place to stop by if you want to hang out or recharge with a nice, sweet snack or beverage. Came during a weekday afternoon for gelato after a long day working behind a computer. I tried many of the available selections and they all taste fresh and full of flavor. The seating area is what draws my attention to this shop: with creative designs on the wall that matches the placement of the tables and chairs, as well as couches for you to just sink into and relax. I haven't seen this place get super busy but that's what I enjoy about coming here, to experience a calm and relaxing afternoon. If you're looking to catch up with friends or have some "me time", this is the perfect location in comparison to some of the other shops in the area.

Kendell B.

Yelp
My husband I stumbled across this place one night randomly and we were so happy that we did! They have these giant cream puffs of all different flavors and so many types of mochi. We got the Oreo and s'mores cream puffs and they were so creamy and good. We also got two mochi, one was chocolate coconut, and the other was chocolate chip. The dough of the mochi was the perfect texture, slightly chewy and very tasty. The service here was also really nice. They were extremely kind. The shop itself is clean and organized, but felt warm. We really enjoyed our experience here. Would recommend for a tasty treat!

Trisha V.

Yelp
Been wanting to go back here and it's literally been years!!! This visit though I was here for the Croissant Taiyaki!!!! I couldn't believe they had it here, I thought it was only available in the LA area. Why aren't these more available everywhere because they are so freaking delicious!!!! I got 2 custard and 1 Nutella and they are just as yummy as I remembered!!! I can't wait to go back and get these again. I am so happy they have them here. I also want to try their cream puffs too.

John E.

Yelp
This review is for Mochi in Irvine. Nice place. Cleaned bathroom. Nice and friendly people. Good food for hot weather.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
This place is one of Irvine's best kept secrets. The mango snow is hands down the best dessert that's ever existed. Vibe is great, service has always been nice.

Ariana L.

Yelp
Great spot to hang out and get some dessert! I got the injeolmi bingsoo which comes with red bean and mochi pieces! I love bingsoo, or Korean shaved ice and this one did not disappoint! We also ordered taiyaki, with red bean, custard, and Nutella! The taiyaki was actually made of croissant and was super flaky and delicious! We split the small bingsoo with 3 people and it was a good size. I also enjoyed the atmosphere which was quiet with a good amount of seating!

Im W.

Yelp
This is a fun place to meet up for a sweet treat. I've been here for quite some time when they only had the beard papa and coffee and a couple mochi options. It's been really wonderful to experience new products as this shop has grown over the years. my experience has been at the customer. Service is not exactly friendly but is very polite and efficient. We really like the mochi on their coffee bar is pretty awesome. We recently have been into the milk snow, strawberry seems to be our favorite so far. The mango when we recently tried was really soggy. They have lots of neat trinkets on sale so if you have kids, definitely put on their blinders before you go in. They also have a really nice little set up outside.

N T.

Yelp
We love their House Shaved Ice. It's refreshing on a hot day and there is plenty of fruits to make it a healthier dessert.

Lauren H.

Yelp
I have not tried anything else from here except the taiyakis, but the taiyakis are very addicting. Their savory taiyakis (ham and cheese, garlic cheese) really hit the spot for me; the outside is both crunchy and soft in the right spots. The ham and cheese is similar to 7 Leaves ham and brie in taste, but I especially love how they glaze the taiyakis, so I occasionally get a delicious combination of savory and sweet delectables. Mochi is also a great place to study. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon around 5pm and the whole place was empty (it got busier later on though). There is plenty of seating and good wifi. The only downside is that they seem to only have 3-4 outlets on the side of the wall with high chairs and tables. Music is a vibe, and people come here to hangout mostly, but I think it's a pretty good spot for studying too (especially because they close later than most cafes).

Heather R.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice and love their shaved ice/milk. My friend ordered for me but I think it was their standard shaved milk, size small. This was a matcha shaved ice with a delicious custard type ice cream underneath. It had mango, kiwi, banana and strawberry fruits on top. It was also topped with red bean and Mochi pieces. It was delicious and despite looking massive, easily fed two people. My only complaints were this: price wise it's a bit steep for what it is, the strawberries were very bland (but it's also not strawberry season so I'm not surprised), and I wish there was more of the ice cream and Mochi pieces on top because they were so so yummy! The last one is more of a personal preference than a complaint, I just love mini mochi! Overall, I'll be back. It's a fun treat to share with friends and family (and they have little serving cups on the side if you're worried about germs right now)! They also serve beard papas cream puffs and if you have not had these before, do yourself a favor and grab a couple of these to take home (or eat on the way home)!

Michelle K.

Yelp
Snuck in here after a late night meal and was blown away by the incredible selection of treats! Beard Papa's - YUM! Fantastic beverages including a rose oat milk latte and the BEST Croissant Taiyaki I've ever had - The vanilla cream custard and the nutella were INCREDIBLE! So good in fact that we ate ours and ended up ordering more to go :) If you're in the area, I recommend swinging by and trying the Taiyaki and something from the coffee bar.

Anita C.

Yelp
I took my daughters here to get their drinks and desserts and also to work on their homework. I like how the café has plenty of room and tables for its customers. The staff were very friendly. My daughter just learned how to use dollars. I asked her to order her own drink from the menu and find the price that fit her budget. The cashier was very patient and nice, helping my daughter and explaining her options and the total cost with tax. I like how the staff were super friendly. Drinks and cream puffs were delicious. We'll definitely come back.

Korina S.

Yelp
Wow. The mango milk snow is the best! A small is definitely enough for at least 2 to share. The milk snow is topped with a layer of mango goodness sprinkled with mochi. There are other dessert options including cream puffs (variety of flavors), dip n dots, ice cream, drinks, etc.... They also have a selection of cute BTS and Sanrio merch. The cafe is cute inside. Would not expect it from the exterior. Indoor and outdoor seating. Worth stopping in!

Val C.

Yelp
First time trying this place on Friday and I can say in confidence I will not be back here.. it's overpriced and while it's nice and cute and spacious inside, the amount of dessert you get doesn't justify the price point. $6 for an ube lava cake that was so tiny it looked like a dallop of purple cake inside a small to go container. The mango milk snow was just okay. I mean - $16 for a small order - and the sweet mango cream/milk didn't even get to the bottom of the tiny bowl. The service I have to say is just okay too. Nothing too special about it. They greet you, they answer your questions and of course, the monitor asks for a tip LOL Anyway, if you're in Irvine anyway and are looking for a great dessert place, I think Meet Fresh is waaaaaay better than this place so I would drive just about 3 miles down and I'll be much more satisfied for less money.

Daniel P.

Yelp
Great ambiance and the staff is very friendly. Its a busy spot in on of the busiest strip malls in Irvine. I come here for the milk snow, tayaki, gelato and puffs. Coffee also available. They also serve hot food limited menu in case you want to during lunch Monday to Friday 11 to 3. Good place to hang out with friends for long talks.

Amit M.

Yelp
Good dessert spot with lots of options. We tried a green tea mochi and gelato filled macaroon. Mochi was good but the macaroon was decent. It was hard to bite into and was very flaky once you started eating it.

Jonna G.

Yelp
I'm so glad my cousin and I stumbled upon this dessert place. Mochi and Bearded Papa are both in one store. It wasn't busy when we arrived but once we sat down and started eating, a bunch of people came in. +Mango Snow:: Yummy! The snow had the right consistency and melted once you put it in your mouth. It was soft and we enjoyed it very much. Don't forget to ask for extra mango syrup! The mango syrup was the best part and I love the mango flavor. The mochi topping was just okay. It was kind of hard to chew. +Strawberry Coconut Cream Mochi: My cousin chose this for her mochi. The flavor was super yummy and reminded me of pocky strawberry sticks. I like how it wasn't too sweet and the ice cream wasn't hard. +Yuzu Citrus Mochi: I picked this one for my mochi! My ice cream was a tad bit softer than the strawberry coconut cream but that's okay. I like the yuzu flavor it had. The outside was soft and bouncy. Overall, don't skip out on this place! It's a great dessert spot and just thinj about eating this on a hot summer.

Jamee S.

Yelp
Looks cute. We got here before they opened after an early water polo game. A guy came out to fix chairs and tables outdoors at 10:55. He was blunt in saying, "We open at 11:00." That's cool. We'll wait. Then when he finished he walked in the restaurant and that was it. We were still waiting patiently for him to tell us they were open. A man walks in from the street and proceeded to walk inside and order. What the heck? Dude! Thanks for telling us you were finally open. We walked up to order. The lady at the counter was impatient and rushing us, "Anything else? Is that all? Anything else?" There are 4 of us. So if I only gave you 1 order, then that's usually a clue that I'm not done ordering. Mediocre service. Stale cream puffs. No croissant thingys. Good thing I don't live here. I wouldn't come back because the lack of service doesn't help the food.
