Portland’s Legit Late-Night Happy Hours | Eater Portland

"An old-school neighborhood pubs-meets-diner vibe pervades at the Mock Crest Tavern, a longstanding music venue in North Portland. Shows here often run late enough to lead into happy hour, which kicks off at 11 p.m. With some respectable pub staples ranging from $4 to $7, the menu includes tater tots, hummus and pita, plus cheeseburger or veggie sliders. Drink specials are similarly straightforward, with $4 well drinks and discounts on beer and wine." - Alex Frane

14 Spots to Day-Drink in Portland | Eater Portland

"An essential North Portland watering hole, the low-brow Mock Crest Tavern opens at 9 a.m. daily, serving breakfast and drinks at its diner-style counter and out on the patio. Its friendly neighborhood vibes mean that no one will be judged for that 11 a.m. whiskey highball, and it always gets busy with daytime revelers when happy hour kicks in at 3 p.m." - Alex Frane

One of the cozier bars in Portland. The food is great, this is not another bar serving prewarmed food. The club sandwich is great, the breakfast is great and the drinks are actually strong but not too strong that you cannot enjoy it. The customers are all seemingly very familiar with the staff and its overall a great vibe. The food isn’t even too expensive, easily one of my favorite bars in Portland. If you haven’t visited, your missing out !!

Google
$10-$30 Nearly perfect time capsule, friendly staff, solid menu, great food coming from a small kitchen, including hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, and fried goodness done well. Weekly live music, bingo, and poker tournament night. Now that they have karaoke again on 1st and 3rd Fridays, the only thing missing is you! 😉

Google
Have you EVER seen a Hot Toddy that 💞 phenomenal 💞 ? Get the fish sandwich, you won’t regret it. (I add American, extra pickles, and extra tartar. Yuuuuuuum) A wonderful local joint—Will & Erica and the whole staff are just ALL superb. Gabe—I think you made me my fish sandwich. If you did it, please know it was ridiculously good, I can die happy now. Oh! And they sell little snacks for a dollar now too, so they really have options for everyone. I would recommend the Mock to anyone looking for a bar that will make you feel like an old family friend.

Okay, no tiny little bar has the right to make a cheeseburger this amazing. It's my favorite classic, unfussy, badass burger in Portland. The staff is funny, kind, efficient and awesome. This is my comfy place. Highly recommend.

Google
The club was definitely something id go back for, completely worth the journey, and it has a cool backyard feel patio. I'd totally recommend checking this dive out. Thar also had diner stools which was awesome 👌

Google
Stopped by for video poker and a beer. Service was polite and beer selection is good. Video poker selection was very satisfactory! And they have fun little signs to put up when you need to step away. ATM was also crazy fast, which was nice. Knocked a star off because the smell inside isn’t fantastic. Kind of like an old attic/room and very musty. My assumption is the age of the building but still, it was very unpleasant. It was also VERY warm. I was sweating sitting at the machine. It’s a very very small spot so that could also contribute to the smell and temperature.

First time visiting with my son the food was delicious, clean establishment and cozy friendly welcome. I will come back soon. Thank you for your hospitality.

Google
The food here is amazing! My wife and I tried the mock cheese at it was to die for, everything is made to order and is piping hot. If you’re ever in the area we do recommend this spot. Will and Erica’s service was top notch and they made us feel at home 5/5

Yelp
Great place with amazing bar food. I found their forward thinking of not doing any food to go a really great business idea. See you tomorrow for breakfast!

Yelp
A nice cozy bar on Lombard right before you enter St. John's. Very comfortable with super nice bartenders and good food they even do live music on Saturdays happy I live close to it will be back sooner then later

Yelp
Check your receipts. This used to be a go to neighborhood bar for drinks and food. Now you cannot order food to go over the phone and you have to come in to order. That's fine, however tonight we came in to order food to go and they asked us if we wanted to 'split it', and I was like 'sure, why not?'. The $13 cheeseburger I ordered to go ended up being $18 because apparently they charge you an extra $1 for to-go orders and also an extra $1 per sandwich they have to cut in half. I added jalapeños to my burger which apparently they charge $3 for?! That's almost a 40% in the price. None of this was disclosed to us at the bar when we ordered. They also charged extra for my partner's BLT to cut and half and put in a to-go box. I'm mostly irritated that they pushed all these extra charges on our order without disclosing so watch out.

Yelp
Service is ok. Mid afternoon not many here. Prices are not bad at all. The food is really good. This burger is huge and really tasty. Nice dive bar ambiance that I love.

Yelp
This is a perfect dive bar. The food is delicious (highly recommend the BLT w turkey and the chicken fingers). The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. Always a good selection of beers available. A round of pudding shots is a must if anyone in your group is celebrating something... or you're just in the mood for dessert. The wall to wall carpet reminds you "you're in a dive bar" and keeps snobs at bay. Is it weird to say that the "regular culture" is better at the MCT? I swear this place attracts a high caliber of well behaved, experienced drinkers; people are friendly and unpretentious and, look, the drinks are strong, but still the patrons are rarely a hot mess and I've never witnessed any drama. The bartenders are chatty if you're looking for a chat, and it's pretty common to see strangers strike up a conversation over cigarettes out back. There's an LGBTQ flag flying and planned parenthood job ads hanging in the bathrooms. There are sports on TV if you're into that and video poker if you're into that, but as someone who's into neither I don't find that either dominates the scene. As a regular who comes in once or twice a week, most of the bartenders know my order by heart, and all of them are super friendly. The service is quick and reliable. Love to hang out in the back on a nice summer day, love to cozy up in the bar on a cold winter night. No judgment from the staff if my partner and I spend a couple hours nursing a couple of drinks. Sometimes the music is terrible, but I find that adds to the coziness -- feels like going to hang out at a friend's house and having to listen to whatever crap they like. No kids and no dogs allowed. Poker Wednesdays fills up the bar during the winter when the backyard isn't an option. MCT is a treasure. So grateful to have it in the neighborhood and hope it never changes.

Yelp
Portland is the land of food trucks, dive bars and taverns...The Mock Crest Tavern is nestled in the Kenton/Arbor Lodge neighborhood right off Lombard Street....A dark tavern vibe with a great beer selection (local craft beers on tap) and awesome customer service which makes this tavern one of the best in Portland...We rolled in a little after 9AM on a Sunday morning not expecting much...We were surprised how quickly the tavern filled up with the breakfast crowd!...The menu had all the great breakfast classics excluding some house favorites like the Egg Mock Muffin & Chicken Fried Steak with housemade gravy both came with delicious country potatoes!...The staff was super friendly and very attentive and our meal was delicious!...Loved this tavern!!...See you next time we're in Portland Mock Crest Tavern!!

Yelp
It's out towards St Johns. It's summer, Saturday Night. A Blues Band is playing, Local dive bar. Nice patio out back. Local beer on tap. Doesn't get better. Worth checking out.

Yelp
My buddy Gator was bragging about the size and quality of this burger he had at Mock Crest Tavern, and I was skeptical of his ability to find the "ultimate burger" he professed. I was in doubt, especially once I seen the little bitty Tavern... He got me, the Jalapeño Swiss burger with fries was f@?(&n smoking.just saying!

Yelp
Mock Crest is a neighborhood tavern, adults only. The food is definitely not just an afterthought, however. Fantastic and tasty - best bar food (burger and tot for me) I've had in a long time.

Yelp
Hmmmmm.... I cannot classify this as a Dive Bar. I've been to a generous handful in my day, and this is upscale divey if not a classy dive bar. It is a gem and I had a great time visiting here with my daughter and her friends from UP. I remember seeing the MCT the first time we dropped her off as an entering freshman and I told her, "when you turn 21, we are going there". She is ready to graduate so it was a likely choice to stop by and grab a beer to celebrate. The staff is friendly and truly welcoming. We had so much fun watching the Blues Band that was playing, I didn't want to leave. The prices are reasonable, the interior is fun, and the overall vibe just wants you to order one more drink. We ordered a few appetizers for the table which were also good for bar food. The bartender treated us to some pudding shots... never had one, thought they only came in Jello ... oh my, so good, strong, and on the house. Thank you! We will be back, as we have a new Pilot in the house, giving me 4 more years to visit and have some fun at MCT.

Yelp
Terrible racist place told a family of Mexicans they can wait at the door or leave and a couple behind them and just walked right in and took a seat and treated them with the up most respect and served them right off the bat with out making them wait and when the Mexican family asked hey I've been waiting for a table she said then leave then when I came (mind u I'm black) with my other friends she said you can leave you order to much food and don't appreciate that in my bar this isn't a hangout spot u may leave then called me N***r and said don't like it than leave most terrible experience in my life

Yelp
The BLTT was exactly what I needed and the tots were perfectly crunchy. The staff were really wonderful as well.

Yelp
This place was great! We stopped for a near by geocache (webcam) and decided it would be a great idea to get some food. The food was great and priced fair. The French toast was amazing 3 slices for the order so 6 1/2STP in total. The sausage scramble was great and filling. The potato's made this even more amazing as they are crispy on the outside and almost smashed potato's on the inside. Staff was friendly and it seemed like it was filled with lots of locals. Amazingly fun conversations going on in the room and was a blast to just watch and listen.

Yelp
A semi hidden classic looking tavern, my first time here. I just saw "tavern" and thought YES. 1PM on a Saturday, no line, late brunch after getting stuck in IKEA (my mistake) and needed a brunch drink. Delicious BFK and saw the special... peanut butter bacon French toast with eggs for $10.75, another YES Back patio is way cute, covered and a few spots out in the sun with a backyard of a house vibe. Staff rules, service was fast, food was great, drinks get you drunk!

Yelp
The smell from outside of the burgers cooking drew me in! The burgers here are really high quality and good! Super fresh! The meat is the best part of the burger! The bacon was peeeeeerfect! Let me say, the tatter tots may be the best I've had! The fries are ok but the tots are fire! Come try!

Yelp
I used to love this place but the food and service has gone downhill. There has been staff changes, this horrible bar tender, thin long dark hair and she always seems to be working. She is unavoidable and it's my neighborhood pub. She was absolutely rude to my partner and I not just the first time we went there since changes but 3 times. Super unfortunate....

Yelp
Mock Crest Tavern is a solid dive-ish bar in the neighborhood. I say "ish" simply for the fact that I don't normally associate dive bars with live jazz/blues music (that was actually quite good) and people keeping their shiz together and not being obnoxiously drunk in public. My partner's been craving a BLT and we've been meaning to try this place out. We stopped in on a Saturday night to order, as they don't take to-go orders over the phone. We drank a beer, played some lotto, and enjoyed the live music before taking our food home. I will say that I got the sense that this is definitely a neighborhood bar for an older-ish crowd. Bartenders knew most people's names at the bar, no one was acting too drunk or rowdy, and people were really respectful when the musicians were playing. These are good things. I appreciate it. Our BLTs (one regular and one with turkey for an extra $3) were good, but definitely on the steep side for the portion. When I pay $9 for a BLT, I'm expecting a pretty hefty sandwich. There were two or so small strips of bacon (not high quality), a piece of lettuce, and maybe two sliced tomatoes. It was similar for the turkey BLT as well. The fries were fine, but I was more impressed with the tots. They really stood out in my mind, as they were perfectly crispy and aggressively seasoned. Overall, this is a nice option in the neighborhood compared to other bars (I'm looking at you, T-Room). While I felt a little let down by the food, I'd still like to try out more of their menu. At the very least, I'll be back to grab a drink and listen to some nice live music.

Yelp
If you've driven down Lombard, you've probably passed this glowing bar and wondered what it's all about. Well I'm here to tell you that this is a hidden gem of N Portland and worth a stop in. It's cozy and inviting inside. It's the kind of bar that feels like the other customers are your family and you're all enjoying a night cap together. They have different nights featuring live music, karaoke and trivia. There's also a big back patio with chairs and even grass to lay in for the summer months. The food is superb and more than you'd expect at a dive bar. Great burgers and fried food, but also healthier options like salads. I'd recommend adding the grilled onions to whatever you order! My final recommendation (very top secret inside knowledge), is to try their pudding shots! Just do it. Getting drunk never tasted so good.

Yelp
I've driven by here dozen's of times, always wanted to stop in. Today I did...and thank you, Mock's Crest. Holy cow...amazing food. I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger with a side salad. I'll let the picture do the speaking. The bartender was beyond attentive, and the background conversation within the bar was engaging. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I've been a regular here for a little over 5 years now, and there's a reason for that beyond proximity. The food is excellent, the service is beyond excellent, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want in a low-key neighborhood tavern. No frills, no pretense- just consistently excellent service, food, and drinks. And note that I said consistently- because it's good every time. To the handful of people who've left bad reviews, all you've done is make me question your judgement and/or taste. In five years I've never had a bad experience here, so I can't help but think your expectations or your attitude (or both) were the problem. But that's fine, there are plenty of other places you can go- just leaves more space for me and my friends at the ol' MC.
google avatar

Yelp
Mock Crest is my favorite neighborhood hangout. They have great food (not just bar food), great patio, and super friendly staff.

Yelp
We came here for a nearby Geocache and was happy to make this our breakfast stop. Coming from Alaska I didn't know serving food at a bar in the am was a thing so I was skeptical. It turned out great though. 20 bucks for French toast which was good and the veggie scramble with potatoes which was good too. We left happy and satisfied. The two workers were happy and nice too. I'd check it out no matter what time a day.

Yelp
Nice place , people were nice and I really enjoyed the food. I'd definitely come back here for breakfast or brunch anytime.

Yelp
Placed an order over the phone and the lady was rude and condescending. When we walked in the lady asked us to wait for the hostess to be seated, so I let her know that we were there for a pick up order and she snapped at me to just wait, then loudly grumbled that we were 4 minutes early for our order. We had intentionally come a few minutes early to throw in a few bucks at the video lottery while we waited, but at that point I was afraid I'd get scolded if I approached a machine. The hostess came to grab my card and I crossed the forbidden line into the now open dining area to hand it to her. Predictably, the cook again flipped out at me. That was my mistake and I understand the need for me to not cross if I wasn't eating in, but I should mention there were literally no diners inside and I had a mask on. Meanwhile, the lady COOKING THE FOOD, had NO MASK ON the entire time and was helping the girl punch phone orders into the register and returning to cook food without washing her hands. Once we got home I realized half of the toppings listed on the menu were missing from my sliders. My husband said his burger was just okay and the fries were so greasy and half cooked/soggy that he threw them all out. He put it best that if the lady was just rude and the food was good or vice versa, it would have been fine, but the combo of bad customer service and bad food (not to mention unsanitary COVID protocol from the cook) made it so much more disappointing.

Julianne K.

Yelp
This bar and their team continues to surpass expectations- especially in these grueling COVID times. I wish I could do more to support this great local spot. Thank you for great service (including hot mugs of water as hand warmers on the patio) Delicious eats and kind, masked smiles! Can't wait for days of live music and karaoke again one day!
google avatar

Summer B.

Yelp
I walked in to use their ATM, located near the back on the left hand side, just past the end of the bar. As soon as I stepped in, I heard the sweet sound of live blues music, promptly followed by an older gentleman grabbing me by my elbows and proceeding to dance his heart out! I love dancing and it was terribly hard to resist in that atmosphere. I just wanted to use the ATM and ended up having so much fun! I didn't eat (mistake) but the food smelled as you would expect, greasy and appetizing. The seating was cramped, but then I assume they switched things up to make room for the live band and dancing. The lighting is sort of romantic, and the whole place has a 50s diner feel to it. It's obvious that there's people doing a nopo bar crawl, tourists and of course the regular. The age range seemed to be mid 20s-mid 50s. Nobody behaving their age. Swing by, it's a nice crowd even on a Sunday.
google avatar

Yelp
My loaded bacon grilled cheese was not loaded. I order two (one for myself and a friend). I ordered one with tomato and one without. I realized the bartender never asked what bread I wanted so I informed her that the one with no tomato I would like a bun and the one with tomato would like rye bread. She said okay no problem. 45 min later when the other bartender brought the food I could tell my friend had sourdough w|o tomato and mine had tomato. No biggie, when I said something she said that it wasn't specified so they just guessed....really..... And second, why call something loaded when it only had two slices of cheese, two cut in half thin slices of bacon, and two slices of tomato. The flattest sandwich I have had.

Yelp
Sometimes I come here for poker on Monday's. Service is pretty slow, but friendly enough (they seem to be constantly short staffed). Anything with fried fish is pretty good and the burger is definitely delicious grease monster. As for the chicken strips, the portion size is smaller than other local bars, like Greeley and Twilight Room. Keep in mind food will come out slow since the kitchen is tiny. Their patio area is fairly large. I heard they have free blues jam nights and a cheap breakfast, so there is probably more to this bar than meets the eye.
google avatar

Adam V.

Yelp
I heart this place. Like really. Not only is the staff really nice, but all of the patrons are too. A real sense of community here. I came on a Sunday morning, and decided to give their $2.99 breakfast special a try. A short stack and bacon, both surprisingly good, for super cheap? Hell yeah! For drinks, I got a Bloody Mary. Now, I'm pretty picky about my bloodies (not too spicy or watered down). This one lived up to my expectations.

Yelp
When I first moved to Portland and discovered this concept pf drinking booze with your breakfast, I used to come here fairly often. I'm pretty sure they do this back in Boston as well, I just never used to join in the brilliant tradition. But I hadn't been to Mock Crest in years maybe and Restaurant.com offered up a coupon - so count me in. A great way to go on a lazy rainy Friday. A tap beer and a whiskey and coke to start. I even had call whiskey choices. I went with Black Velvet. If it's good enough for Kojak, it's good enough for me. Our nice and enthusiastic waittress told us the specials. Stuffed pork loin, stuffed with stuffing and served with mashed potatoes. She was especially enthusiastic about that one so we got it. It was superb. The only thing that would have made it better was gravy, but no biggie. We also got the deluxe burger with fries. Both were excellent! I AM a fan! Out in the lovely "bier garden", (it really is lovely, and clean) we smoked butts and engaged in some discussion of Kevin Costner films and old school bands with some nice guys. Wasn't till I was going back in did they point out the heater! Only thing I don't like is too many video poker machines. The place just isn't big enough... they should take half of them out! But a buck is a buck is a buck. All in all I'm glad I added the Mock Crest back into my repetoire!
google avatar

Sterling C.

Yelp
This is one of those places masquerading as any old dive bar but once you settle in you can tell the people who work here really care about their jobs and their patrons. I've lived in the neighborhood for almost six years, and although the food is just regular bar food, it's made that much better by the amazing staff who clearly puts thought and care into what they are doing. Linda makes the best grilled cheese I've ever had and Brenna always remembers my drink order, even if I haven't been there in months. Everyone who works here is awesome but I must say Brenna and Linda make a spectacular team and hold it down at this great neighborhood bar. If you're looking for a late night snack, look no further! You might even have some laughs and make some pals while you're at it! MockCrest Tavern gets all the gold stars!
google avatar

Courtney D.

Yelp
I stumbled into a quaint neighborhood bar in north Portland this past weekend, Mock Crest Tavern, which I can't wait to hit this summer for its backyard bier garden. This place reminded me sort of a pub in Germany with a variety of good beer on tap and a charming garden patio in the back. The menu isn't fancy and it doesn't have to be. You can get a good burger and even better tots. If you're alone, you can borrow one of their laptops for free and get online. They also have free music, which is another plus. Tip: Try their homemade soup on a cold night.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
Still a cozy and consistent Live Music Dive Venue-- with sports, lottery machines, food, full bar, decent taps. Poker nites. No children please.
google avatar

Wendy S.

Yelp
An interesting place to hang out if you are in the mood for a dive bar and bar food. We sat at the bar - some nice swivel bar stools. Just make sure, if you are not a smoker, to not sit next to someone who's been puffing outside. Free blues jam - but I'd have to pass on whoever was thhre last night. Friendlly service. Don't even think about drinking wine. If it was in my neighborhood I would frequent it but to go there from any distance further- might be a stretch.
google avatar

Patti K.

Yelp
My definition of dive bar: When you walk in and instantly double the number of teeth in the place. ;-) This is a dive bar, dive bar food - free music. Friendly service from all of the servers. Food is good and greasy, drinks are, well... just don't order wine. Yeah, I know, I must be some kind of snob to expect decent wine at a dive bar...but I keep trying...
google avatar

Kelsie V.

Yelp
Love it ! First of Sept., sat outside in small lush patio/outside. Service-friendly, familiar, attentive Food-Great-to-Good. Home, Comfort food Loads of poker machines for the space Couple TVs to catch sports Great beer selection (for 8 taps) they will switch up their micros & their best quality. Live Music ! Local, Local, you will make a friend here---even if you are shy. The owners are nice and also own Greeley Avenue Bar and Grill. Support them, too ! I had my birthday here, and they gave me a shot with a candle in it. I wasn't even a regular. But I am now. I wish they had hot wings.
google avatar

Raja S.

Yelp
Old fashioned tavern place. They have super cheap beers (different ones different days): $2 per glass. They also have other specials... there was chocolate mousse shot: very good for $2 or less. Their burger was good. Fries were okay. Service was really good.

Yelp
I had never been to Mock Crest before but since it is in the neighborhood we decided to try it. We arrived just before happy hour ended and choose to order off the HH menu. There are not alot of choices but we choose to have a side salad, tater tots, 2 half BLT's, and a cup of soup. The soup was salmon chowder and it was great, The BLT's were also good along with the tator tots. The salad arrived and had red onions on it which we couldn't handle so they took it away and were going to make us another one but then didn't bring it until we were done eating. They took it off the bill. Overall is was ok. We will go back and try breakfast sometime.

Yelp
I gotta tell ya... I'm SUPER impressed. I mean I've eaten there before - a while back - but the food tonight was stupid good. Seriously one of the best burgers ever. I had the jalapeno swiss burger with tots and my friend had the club sandwich with fries. Unbelievable! The presentation was great, the food was excellent, and even better, the staff was fantastic! I highly recommend it.

Bonnie E.

Yelp
Best little dive bar with amazing food. Bartenders have always been so nice whenever I'm there! Fun spot for early evening or late night.

Mary W.

Yelp
Perfect in its class. Warm, friendly, delicious, local, reasonably priced and accessible (meaning: you can get a seat - I do think the front door is ADA but don't quote me on ADA overall). I love the club sandwich so much that I sometimes send my husband to bring me one home when I'm not feeling like going out. It is huge, so although I am a pig I usually end up eating half and saving half for later. I also love it as a music venue. Unlike some places, I can enjoy shows without putting in ear plugs. And I really enjoy them! Please go there often enough to support what they are doing, but not so often that we can't get our favorite seat by the window. Ok, finally, some complaints: I find video poker depressing and the patio is too full of tobacco smoke. But Mock Crest is by no means the only bar in Portland to succumb to those things. (The patio is very nice except for the smoke. And when I smoked, I loved it. But then I got cancer, so now I don't.)
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
This is a quality dive bar. QUALITY DIVE BAR. Great staff, everyone doing the cooking does a great job with breakfast and lunch/dinner items on the menu. The fries make your mouth water. The pancakes and french toast are solid and tasty. Bloody Mary made to accompany a good breakfast or brunch perfectly. THEN ADD MUSIC. Consistently great bands of a variety of styles. Make this a regular stop, get to know the staff, you will appreciate it :-)

Yelp
This place isn't for everyone but staff is always nice, food is great, and the drinks are good as well. I'd say their specialty is their burgers which are seared to perfection and not too greasy with great tasting and very fresh veggies/ special ingredients to top. Nice cozy bar atmosphere that tends to have 80s pop and obscurities playing. Also boasts live local shows on a regular basis. My personal pick? Their bacon cheeseburger saddled with a cold Molson. Noise level? Depends on if there's a show of course.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
It's pretty good. Like a dive you'd take your parents to for an 'authentic' experience. Pretty cramped specially when there's a band and it definitely seems like a lot of people to bring their parents there or something but it looks like they have brunch and I hear the food is pretty good. It'actually get out pretty clean inside. The server though I asked three times for water did not give me water which I think is an oLCC violation.

Yelp
As far as dive bars go this place has it all - great vibe, awesome beer and cool music.

Yelp
People are nice here. Beer selection is good. The beer gardens is bid and pretty nice. They have live music on the weekends and the burgers are pretty dang delicious.

Yelp
I normally would rate this bar a 4 or even a 5, but last night our server, Aaron, made me change my mind. The staff is usually always so friendly. Come to think of it, he's really the only staff member there that doesn't seem to be all that friendly. Me and my guy both ordered food (which was delicious), of which he got my order partially wrong (all I asked for was no onions on my salad) and the poor cook felt horrible, he didn't seem to care - or even ask us how our food was. She did though, she's fantastic! (female with shorter, blonde hair - super nice) Oh dear.....I made the mistake of asking him for a refill on my water. He paused before replying, then said, "um, you know there's a water station over there (pointing)?" me, "oh, I'm sorry to have bothered you." He doesn't say another word, grabs my cup and refills it for me. Was it really that hard to walk 5 feet to get me more water? You were going behind the bar anyway to get my guy another drink. And yet I still tipped you 20%. You're welcome! Overall, I love this place. Great food, good music, typically awesome staff. I think Aaron just needs the boot or a wake up call!

Yelp
Old school feel bar, very laid back. A kind of bar that has regulars of all ages and it's not pretentious. Bartenders are very nice and the food is solid, probably one of my favorite bacon cheeseburgers around. Chill backyard patio with grassy area and a deck with tables.

Yelp
I am very disappointed in this establishment. Yesterday I was denied entry because I had my service dog with me. Not only did they completely ask the wrong questions "what is your disability?" (this is ILLEGAL), every person working there stopped what they were doing to look and argue with me, everyone in the bar was staring and it was incredibly embarrassing. As a disabled person, it is hard for me to even leave my house some days and yesterday I was able to because I had my service dog with me, I knew I would be safe if something happened. I was so flustered and embarrassed by everyone looking and the staff speaking so loudly at me, that I was unable to defend myself and educate these people on ADA standards. Even though it is NOT MY JOB to do that, I wish I had been able to stand up for myself. One employee in particular made a point to tell me my disability was invalid because it wasn't a physical disability (seeing eye dog for example). Under the ADA, I am protected because my dog is specially trained to approach me and warn me of an attack as well as help me to return to a normal state. I have filed a complaint with the ADA and will be contacting their manager in hopes they will be better informed for other disabled people who visit their establishment in the future. I am very disappointed that I will not get to enjoy my favorite neighborhood bar where I used to feel safe and be part of my community but I will no longer be coming back to the Mock Crest. Do better.
