Outdoor seating is great for people watching while you have lunch. Everything is gluten free and so tasty. I had the Coconut French Toast Sticks with a French Toast Latte. Both were fantastic. They have restrooms. Parking structure is just across the street and a block north.

Flew down from Seattle to snag some bagels. So happy to have also gotten the brioche donut. Nice seating areas inside and out. Get there early as they sell out. I really wanted some everything bagels but snagged some egg one instead. These should hold me over until my next bagel trip

Google
Great place, especially for those with a gluten allergy or a celiac disease. Staff was super nice and even offered an extra free croissant since it was our first time here. Would go every day if we lived here!

Google
I didn’t realise this place was gluten free but I did after my first bite. This sourdough was the worst bread I’ve ever had. The texture was awful and dry and the after taste was really weird. The only good thing was the egg. Vegan bacon (no normal bacon option) was impossible to bite into because it was so hard and really over seasoned was really unpleasant. This wasn’t helped by the absence of butter and sauce. Service was lovely but the food was honestly really bad. Maybe I should have got a bagel?

Daniel D.

Google
The best gluten free pastry and bagel I have ever had. The place is entirely gluten free so no anxiety for a coeliac. The pain au chocolat was some kind of witchcraft - actual buttery flakey layers that I thought I would never experience again since having to go GF. Reasonably priced, great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend for any coeliacs.

Google
Modern Bread and Bagel is truly exceptional. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with the highest quality ingredients — you can taste the care that goes into every dish. The customer service is consistently friendly and attentive, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a healthy meal, a cozy spot for a coffee date, or just a beautiful place to connect with friends, family, or colleagues, this is absolutely the place to go. Highly recommend Shoutout to Chris and david for taking such good care of me and my family!

Google
This place is sooo good, bagels are delicious and the mood of the place itself is very clean and pleasing!! Our waitress was also lovely, keep up the great work

Google
I'm very upset this place opened so close to my office, 😭 now I have no excuse but to enjoy their glorious gluten free doughnuts more often than my usual monthly visits! Best gluten free bakery in Los Angeles, hands down! Geez 🙄 But seriously, take it from a gf experienced eater. This place takes the cake. They should honestly get some sort of reward.

Yelp
Flaky gluten free croissants, aka the dream. Pain de chocolat, awesome. The challah roll was a bit dry but perked up in my microwave. Enjoyed two bagel sandwiches, whitefish and the tuna Za'atar. Both had a good and appropriate amount of well-seasoned filling. Bagels weren't dry. Yes, it's expensive. You are in Beverly Hills ordering a gf croissant. I don't know what to tell you if you're surprised by that.

Yelp
Ordered a bagel from here and it was pretty good, but I have to say, they went a little cray with the amount of cream cheese they put. Every bite I would take, a bunch of cream cheese would be pushed out of my bagel and also get all over my hands and just be super messy. Don't get me wrong, I like a solid amount of cream cheese and I hate when there isn't enough and the bagel is dry. That being said, there can also be too much when you have a difficult time enjoying the bagel because you're eating mostly cream cheese. I got the everything bagel with chive cream cheese.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast stop! The place is known for their gluten free bagels/breads so of course we had to try their bagels/breads. We got the Breakfast Grilled cheese on Pan Demin bread and the Morning Stretch on everything bagel. The onion jam on the grilled cheese just blew my mind. It just pushed a simple grilled cheese sandwich into another level. The Morning Stretch sandwich was very flavorful with the addition of their red pepper paste. Would recommend both. The sandwiches are not that big so you don't feel overly stuffed. Next time, we will have to order the grilled cheese on a bigger bread or bagel. We also tried one of their drinks, the apple pie latte. It was really good and not overly sweet. They also have several sweet pastries and deserts. We got the apple pie cinnamon roll and the potato leek quiche to go. The cafe has plenty of seating both inside and outside. Service was very friendly. Metered street parking available as well as free 2 hour public underground parking nearby.

Yelp
Since I have been wanting to come here for a long time now I went to great pains to find parking nearby and was finally successful. I ordered the B.E.C. on Parmesan toast. It was tasty. But that's the only good thing I have to say about this place. When I was about to pay I could tell another customer was really irked off because it seems like they took too long with her order to be ready. And I noticed the same complaints on other reviews. So here I am waiting for my order for over 10 minutes for something that is a very simple sandwich to make. Not sure why it takes so long but I'm waiting in their nice patio area. Yet being surrounded constantly by gnats makes it frustrating and unappealing to eat here. Well I was just served with my sandwich and not sure why it was packed to go when I told them I wanted to eat at the restaurant. I was responded to with a nonchalant sorry as he plopped down my "to go" bag. Overall very unimpressed for this hype of a place. The vegan bacon was so hard that it was as if I was biting into an impossible tree bark! The presentation was less than mediocre. So disappointing since I had read so many good reviews about this place. Definitely not worth the money or my time.

Lennedy K.

Yelp
Everything is 10/10. Granola bowl x cinnamon roll are my fav. David and Anya are the absolute best. Promote!!
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
It's alright, not bad not good either. I had the Jerusalem egg with toasted sourdough bread and it was kinda disappointing for $11. Small sandwich portion, bland and soggy from the tomatoes with bread tasting more like stale whole grain rather than tangy sourdough. The bakery itself is beautiful with nice indoor and outdoor seating but the food just wasn't worth it.

Yelp
It was so great being able to find a completely gluten free bakery for my friend. While the pastries are a bit different than usual, you can barely tell the difference. The bagel tasted just as good as a regular one!! Would love to try more of the pastries they have.

Kalea R.

Yelp
I tried their avocado bagel and was disappointed. They have such great reviews and are supposed to be known for their bread but their bagels are extremely hard! I do want to give this place a chance and they did have some other interesting things on their menu, however I feel like if they can't make a simple bagel good how will the other items on the menu be :( They also do not take cash! Only card! I didn't have a card with me but luckily a gentleman offered to pay with his card and let me give him my cash. I wish they advertised as card only so people know.

Yelp
Fresh delicious gluten free bagel and cream cheese. Amazing gluten free croissants and pan au chocolate. Kosher too. And a Great spot for a delicious healthy breakfast or lunch. The menu has a lot of flavor and options. The dessert is tasty too with a cup of coffee. The whole bakery is gluten free and some items are vegan so there are options for everyone. And the staff is nice!

Yelp
Omg! GF Croissant?!?! The only place in the world that has a gluten agree Croissant!!!!!! I've been let down by other places before, so I was hesitant to get an $8 gf croissant. But I love their bagels so much, I figured I had a better shot at getting at least a good product. It. Was. Delicious! The closest thing to a flaky crunchy in the outside soft as a cloud pillow in heaven on the inside, this treat had me doing cartwheels. Next I'll actually try it with a spread. Kudos to getting this right!!! I'll see you next week!
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Inside has a very calming vibe Service was friendly and quick Bagels were delicious fresh thin, crispy outside pillow, soft inside
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious ! Many vegan options and everything is gluten free ! Try the zucchini chocolate bread - it's the best !

Yelp
Want to know how much I absolutely love Modern Bread and Bagel??? So much that I drive from Long Beach all the way to Beverly hill in LA traffic to come and get delicious baked goods and breads that are gluten free!!!!!! This bakery is hands down the best gluten free bakery I have tried since becoming celiac. When I walk in, I'm always greeted by their best associate, Ezra!!!!! I love him!!!! His recommendations are always on point. He tour guides you through all the flavors and notes the key take always from each item. His selections that he's recommended have not let me down once! I absolutely love the vibe with the couches outside. I love drinking my coffee and taking a bite out of all the selections I have chosen for the week. I just want to say thank you so much MBB and Ezra for creating a beautiful experience at your shop. Your hospitality will always have my attention and makes the drive totally worth it. Until next time! Thank you!

Yelp
Finally, a dedicated gluten free bagel farm. Their bagel sandwiches are to die for. The place in Beverly Hills is cute with nice seating. The Montana location is a little cramped but the food is the best.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
I just don't think this quite hits the mark. Service is really good, but follow though isn't there. We asked for our food prepared for dine-in, it was delivered for take-out. I asked to hold the pico de gallo on the burrito - it came with pico any way (I expected more attention to that kind of detail at a restaurant serving a gluten-free audience, considering I need to cut out raw onions). Otherwise, it's generally ok. We had a chocolate sprinkles donut and it wasn't bad, just very dense, not fluffy like you would want in a donut. But not awful, just not really worth $50 for a bagel, donut and burrito that fell apart.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
This is hands-down, the best gluten-free bakery, celiac friendly place in Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles area. You literally won't be able to tell that it's gluten-free the muffins croissants and bagels are also amazing. Highly recommend they also have salads and other items as well. The ambience is always nice and The staff is usually friendly.
google avatar

Sabastian K.

Yelp
i'm gonna be frank, the food here is a delight. every kind of meal a celiac could dream of. my issue it with their flies. once addressed i'd be happy to update this review as i want nothing more than for this business to succeed. i have to come alone because my wife is disgusted every time. guys - why are there so many flies in and outdoor? please do something about it. please clean up food after serving, but i think it's deeper than that.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm sorry to say, but this place should probably be renamed to "Yesterday's Bread and Bagel". Bagel was store bought quality at best, but at least it comes with cute packaging? Three stars because the latke tots were good, especially the sauce they come with.
google avatar

Angie C.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place but I don't eat gluten free. I decided to try the bagels due to the great reviews but honestly there is something about gluten free that gives off a cardboard taste. The bagels here tasted a bit cardboard. Not terrible but I would rather have a regular bagel. The chocolate zucchini loaf wasn't bad but heavy. The cinnamon bun also had a bit of a cardboard taste. Overall may not be for me.
google avatar

Nichole L.

Yelp
Chef's kiss to the toasted plain bagel and strawberry cream cheese I decided to get while in the area. Will def need to come back and try their unique pastries and other smears!
google avatar

Julie J.

Yelp
Would order again and recommend the iced Americano! The G'day Mate with egg, avocado & harissa aioli was good. Some added harissa or another layer of flavor would take it to the next level.
google avatar

Glenn M.

Yelp
Wow. I hate to write negative reviews but the quality of these bagels is just so poor. Heavily salty, doughy to a fault, - just nothing appealing. I would suggest Modern Bread and Bagel explore the recipes for bagels at Courage or Belle's bagels both commonly considered the best bagels in LA. I'm an improved recipe would make them contenders.
google avatar

Johnathan K.

Yelp
I always love coming here in the mornings. Absolutely my favorite crew, everyone is so friendly and nice! They actually make my day every time I come in. I love the way the food is just right! The breakfast burrito, the tots, and just the pastries are amazing. Chris does a good job with making sure everything is good and in order. The crew he has is second to none!! Love the ambiance of the place, just warm and inviting. PS. Bring back the Pop tarts. Along with keep the bundt cake.

A E.

Yelp
Best gluten free restaurant around! And their special pizzas this month are amazing. Hope they can keep them on the menu for the long term.

Corinne F.

Yelp
It's nice to have a dedicated GF spot in Beverly Hills but the wait time for bagels is pretty ridiculous. We wanted 30 minutes for two bagels. Better efficiency would really help this establishment!
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
The staff is great and the food is good! Being gluten free is very hard and to find something that you can have that isn't hard as a rock or falls apart is challenging. My daughter that isn't gluten free said it was almost like a regular bagel! I love the inside and outdoor area it's very welcoming.
google avatar

Yelp
I was excited to try this location since I was nearby and liked the SM location. It's nice bc this location is much larger and has a lot more indoor and outdoor seating areas so people can stay, eat, and chat. Unfortunately, I had a not so great experience. When it was my turn to order, an employee (who I had watched cough repeatedly into their hands and sniffle) took the turn at the cashier to take my order. The employee was kind and patient, but so obviously unwell. I figured it would be fine as long as they changed their gloves or maybe a different employee would fulfill the order. Unfortunately, none of those things happened. They took my order, coughed repeatedly onto their gloves, and then proceeded to pack my order - directly touching the bagel and donut I ordered with said coughed on gloves. After finishing my order, they proceeded to have a coughing fit and had to run into the back. I ended up tossing my purchase for fear of getting sick. I did eat the tuna za'atar sandwich because that was completely created and touched by a different employee. It was fine - not very flavorful or filling for $12. To the Modern Bread and Bagel management team - please put the proper procedures and policies in place so that your employees can take time off to recover from being sick. For the health of your employees and customers.

Yelp
Very chic and modern place with helpful staff and GREAT gluten free pastry options! As a gluten-eater myself, the bagels especially impressed me - just about as good as a regular bagel! Some of the other pastries are a bit overpriced for their size though (but par for the course given the neighborhood).
google avatar

Anissa S.

Yelp
Very excited about this new Beverly Hills location. Unlike the other locations, which are great, this location has com seating and is really decorated beautifully. It's smaller than the Woodland Hills location but larger than Santa Monica. The food is outstanding. I don't think there's a better gluten-free bagel anywhere. And their seasonal treats are always delicious For someone who is gluten-free this place is really special and the Beverly Hills location adds to it by having such a nice ambience and comfortable seating
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
Best gf bagels ever! I haven't had such a good bagel in decades, especially the sesame ones, which were always my favorite.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Delish sandwiches and super sweet staff here. I'll be back to try more things on the menu.

Artur K.

Yelp
Great spot! The service is super friendly and the coffee is consistently excellent. The vibe is always upbeat, and you can tell the staff genuinely enjoy working there. My only gripe is that the food tends to take longer than expected--probably because the team is having such a good time chatting with each other. Still, it's a fun atmosphere and worth the wait most days.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Best gluten free desserts and pastries in the LA area! The croissants are my absolute favorite and a must try!

Tomer R.

Yelp
My mom and I tried Modern today for the first time. She has celiac so we were very excited to learn that everything here is gluten free. Incredible service from Ezra, he was so helpful and kind, making our experience one to remember. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Paul R.

Yelp
Five stars for GF brilliance and excellent food. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: We love your croissants. The best. BUT, there is no option to order a sandwich on a croissant on-line!! We can order in person, but not through "Toast" or on your website. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

Melinda Smith A.

Yelp
I've had their bagels and love them. This week I drove to the Beverly Hills shop to buy for company and just could not get parking. I finally went home. So sad!

Yelp
Modern Bread is the best bakery for anyone who enjoys delicious food. It just happens to be inclusive to those who can't eat flour. My family has visited the Upper West Side location several times in New York. The bagels and pastries are phenomenal. The staff that helped us were fantastic. Keegan and Kainoah were welcoming and knowledgeable. We celebrated my oldest child's birthday with a brunch. My go to is the good day mate breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. The cinnamon rolls, raspberry tart cookies, and eclairs are our favorites. I highly recommend this bakery whenever you are near one of their locations on the west coast or east coast. Bravo to the chef who created all of these wonderful recipes and to their staff. I'm counting the days until we are able to visit again.

Carol S.

Yelp
I liked the location, and the outside patio. I did not like that they were out of everything bagels and decaf coffee. The prices are fare, and they don't skimp on the cream cheese. Overall, this is an ok place for a pastry or bagel, but I don't think we'll return.

Lydia E.

Yelp
The food is amazing! Everything tastes so good. My favorites are the breakfast grilled cheese, farmers garden, sweet Billy, and the latke tots (the latke tots are LITERALLY to die). The staff are super friendly. I've received freebies from them a few different times (ie some extra end of day bagels so I could try a new kind and bring some to my sister, bagel chips, a pastry). They are super warm and welcoming. This particular location has more of modern and cool vibe, and has lots of places to sit and eat both inside and in a covered outdoor area. 10/10!!!!!!
google avatar

Ani Z.

Yelp
The best Avocado toast!! My favorite is the veggie one on sourdough sooooo delicious! The staff is also amazing

Kimberly A.

Yelp
The strawberry donuts were so good! I just wish they were a litttle less doughy. The bread to icing ratio wasn't as even as I'd like but I guess that's just personal preference. Would come back to try the chocolate one :)

Feeden C.

Yelp
The food is amazing!! I love having so many gluten free options and everything tastes amazing! Cute spot with great service and a great vibe. would definitely come back

Heather R.

Yelp
Unbelievably great products gluten-free heaven, fair prices, and superb service! After we ate bought more to go!

Brandon B.

Yelp
I eat here a great deal, since they were open and I hate it but it's never the same experience in both food and service. Seemed to be under staffed or someone new each time. Food is typically really good, some staff want to heat it up for you and others don't bother to ask so lots of inconsistency. Tend to be sold out of a lot of items by 12 noon, frustrating. When focused right and staffed appropriately the food is really great and for Beverly Hills priced accordingly. But when they are short staffed don't expect 5 start service, always in a rush and forget half of what they promise . Hope it can make it....
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
So delicious - this location just opened on Wednesday!! It is a celiac / gluten free persons dream come true!! I personally think this location is way cuter and nicer than the santa monica location. They have comfy indoor seating & outdoor seating. Limitless options to fuel your sweet tooth or bagel cravings!! My sister loved the everything bagel and she's obsessed with the glazed & strawberry donuts!! You really can't go wrong with whatever you choose - everything looks so good!! even if you're not gluten free like myself you will still enjoy it and not even notice the difference!! The zucchini bread was out of this world. And the latke tots were delicious. We will definitely keep coming back!!! The staff was also super friendly and happy to answer any questions.

Bridget N.

Yelp
I never write reviews, but as someone with celiac, this place is my saving grace!! I found Modern when I was in NYC a few years ago, and was ecstatic to find out they opened up new locations in LA area! Every single item in the store is 100% gluten free, fairly priced, and absolutely phenomenal. The sweet staff member who helped me out, Ezra, was so kind and helpful, and provided me with suggestions on what to try. I didn't stay to eat, as I went in right before close, but there were some nice seating options! The kitchen closes at at 3, but that is totally understandable! Thank you, Modern Bread and Bagel for a wonderful experience!!

Julie B.

Yelp
Second review in four months, they score 5 out of five in service and delectable food. Amazing. Wish we had one in Fort Collins! Yes, they could probably do just a smidge more out on their patio to make it more desirable but pretty darn perfect!
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
The BEST gluten/dairy free baked goods I've found in the past year. I got the focaccia bread along with the chocolate zucchini bread and they weee absolutely delicious. Really hoping they will open a location in the Sacramento area!!

Rob B.

Yelp
Best gluten free bagel hands down anywhere. Taste, texture, perfect compliment to a great vegan sausage, egg and cheese. Staff was great and knowledgeable and food is outstanding. RUN don't walk there immediately.
