The 38 Best Restaurants in Omaha, Nebraska

"Chef and cookbook author Isa Chandra Moskowitz’s vegan comfort food includes staples like mac and shews (made with cashew cheese), seitan and cauliflower versions of Buffalo wings, and a house-made seitan burger that’s a dupe for a fast food classic. Her decadent desserts, including cheesecake, thick milkshakes, and pie, are favorites among vegans and omnivores." - Sarah Baker Hansen

Google
100% Vegan restaurant . Went to Modern Love for my daughter's birthday. It was quite the experience being that I'm not vegan but I did try a little bit of everything. I was pretty impressed. The food was very tasty, a lot of good flavor. I'm not a fan of tofu but it's probably a texture thing. The service was amazing. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu items. I loved the dreamy atmosphere...it was comfy and relaxing.

Great find! Went in for a business meeting and the other two people I went with recommended this place. I ordered a Hot Chicken Sandwich (or something like that) and split the Mac and Cheese with wings with my boyfriend. The Mac and Cheese was soooooo good. Very flavorful and the wings were so tasty. The sandwich was delicious and the salad was great. I really wanted the Feta and Strawberry salad but they were out of it and none of the other salads interested me. I wish I would’ve had room for dessert as it all looked amazing. The place is cute and prices were decent. Service was good. I’ll definitely be back when I’m visiting Omaha!

We came right of our way to check this place out. There was only one server and there were a lot of lunch time customers so it was pretty slow. We shared the Kale salad and chicken sandwich. It was more than enough food, and they were both huge portions. The thing we didn't like was that everything was pretty heavy in terms of the sauces and amount of oil used in cooking. I couldn't finish as I prefer fresh food, but for comfort food, it was pretty good. I can see why it is a popular choice. The venue is great, and it is easy to park.

Google
I got the nachos for lunch and garlic Alfredo pasta for dinner the next night. That pasta was so yummy even a day later! The nachos were very filling. Food was good, the price was a bit higher than I thought, especially for Omaha. When I entered the restaurant, it reeked of sulfur, so I’m not sure if it’s normally like that. My server was very nice to me and the food came out pretty quickly. I’m happy a fully vegan restaurant exists in Omaha. Highly recommend the Alfredo pasta and nachos! I’d probably order takeaway if the restaurant still smells like sulfur.

Google
The staff is amazing but the food is even better. I had the Caesar salad, it was so amazing with fresh capers and homemade cheese- the portions were generous and it was gone before I knew it. The staff was so nice, the waiter recently made full time and his birthday was today- he seemed very happy to be there, and assured me that he was going to celebrate.

Google
Incredible vegan culinary experience! Such a great hand crafted vegan menu!! Super friendly staff, and great atmosphere to enjoy healthy and delicious vegan fair. Because everything is whole foods and not just substitutes, it does take a bit to get your food, but it is worth the wait. We look forward to coming back and trying more!

Google
I'm not a vegetarian but I love the food here. So fresh and so tasty. I got a burger and a side of fries to go and everything was delicious! The hot honey drizzle was amazing, as were the fries that were seasoned to perfection. 🍯

Google
Fantastic food: The hot new chicken and nachos were amazing; the kale salad a little too salty. Service was hit and miss; the guy leaving his shift completely ignored me while the lady who just got there was the nicest and gave me fantastic service. It looked clean but bathrooms were dark with a sticky floor. I would eat here again (that sandwich!) but just as likely to try other vegan restaurants in town next time. Parking and construction is also an issue; you can choose the garage and get validated.

Yelp
I was really shocked to see the demographic of people in this restaurant. Most of the guests were 50+, and several in large groups, which is the first I've ever witnessed in a vegan restaurant. I certainly wasn't expecting to see this in Nebraska, which is known for steak and not a progressive state. Omaha has a shortage of restaurants which probably lead people to try this restaurant who normally would never have given it a chance. Clearly it has won people over with its great food.

Yelp
Lovely space, friendly waitstaff, and good, if inconsistent, food. I enjoyed my mac and 'shews bowl. The pasta was zesty and addictive-- a super-satisfying bite. The greens could use a little more flavor, but I liked the brightness they added to the dish. And the tofu portions were massive. My dinner companion was happy to polish off my plate for me. Speaking of him, he opted for the amazing deal of a three-course fixed price meal, which was an homage to Oktoberfest -- a stuffed cabbage roll followed by schnitzel and black forest cake. The cabbage roll was a tasty start. The schnitzel was uneven: The first piece was leathery, but thankfully, the second piece was well prepared. The cake had potential, but was dominated by a heavy dousing of cherry syrup. We eat mostly plant-based, so it made me happy to patronize Modern Love while in Omaha. Maybe an Austin outpost could be next?

Yelp
I have been to Modern Love exactly once, many years ago, at their old location, so it was about time we checked out the (not so) new location! And what better opportunity than Omaha Restaurant Week! They had a $20 three-course prix fixe menu that included an appetizer, a main, and a dessert. They also had their normal menu available if you wanted that additionally or instead of the prix fixe. My husband and I made reservations about an hour before we came on a Friday evening and while there was a steady crowd the whole evening, we probably could have come without reservations and been seated quickly. I started with a Honee Cardamom gimlet and my husband got the pomegranate Moscow mule and despite both of us going with the prix fixe menu, we also decided to share an order of the poutine. My gimlet was tasty with all of the promised flavors, but it was a little too sweet. A little tart or sour note would have helped to bring the drink together. My husband enjoyed his mule a lot! The poutine was HUGE, but so so good. The fries and gravy were excellent. The only critiques I have is that it needed a bit more salt overall and the vegan feta, if they're going to call it that, needs to have a bit more of the salty, tangy, brine taste. The prix fixe started with an Arancini Carbonara, which was my favorite part of the dinner! It was one big arancini that was incredibly crispy on the outside, very creamy on the inside, had a great rich flavor that was complemented very nicely with the overnight pesto. This needs to be added to the permanent menu ASAP! Next came the spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta in pomodoro was very yummy! I would down this any day easy! But the meatballs were a little too smoky for my personal taste. Objectively they were good, but too meaty for me. We ended with the cherry amaretti bread pudding for dessert and it was truly the perfect ending! The mascarpone that was served on top was a perfect pairing. I'm not a huge cherry fan, but I could eat multiple servings of this in one go and be very happy! We also asked for hot sauce and were served a small dish of their house-made sauce. It was mildly spicy for me, but the flavor was very good and it went nicely with all of the savory foods, so I was happy. We probably still would have gotten it, but it would have been nice to know that the hot sauce is $1 for each little dish you get. The staff were friendly throughout and the service was nicely paced. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal and I'll definitely come back, but as someone who has never eaten meat before and does not crave that flavor, I do wish that Modern Love would focus on a few dishes that weren't "meat alternatives," but just good food that also happened to be vegan.

Yelp
What can I say about Modern Love, I am not missing the meat! I got the oyster mushroom calamari app, and it is so good. I do not miss the squid what-so-ever. I am even going out on a limb to say this is better than any squid calamari I have tried anywhere in Omaha. This oyster mushroom calamari is light and crispy, just the way I want calamari to be. . My friend got the Reuben and it was huge and tasted just like a meat version. The sandwich was so big, she only ate 1/2 and took the rest home for a meal. . Good recipes and free parking in the garage (with validation).

Yelp
I stumbled onto this spot right in the middle of downtown Omaha. The area was very quiet when I arrived in the late afternoon. It was a pleasure to dine by the window, and my server couldn't have been more helpful. For my first visit, he suggested I get the Hot Honee Sandwich. As promised, it was excellent. The ingredients that make up the sandwich are jalapeños that have been pickled, coleslaw, crispy tofu chick'n, and housemade hot honee. I also had a salad instead of fries. Despite the messy nature attempting to eat this sandwich with my hands, the crunchy and savory filling more than makes up for it. Something special is going on with the homemade hone. Without a doubt, this Chick'n sandwich is among my all-time favorites.

Yelp
I'm going to start of by saying that I am not a vegan, although I like vegetables, I am a carnivore at heart. But.... WOW!!!!! Holy smokes this place is GOOOOOOD!!! I know a lot of vegans go to Modern Love and that's their thing, but as a devout meat eater, I cannot express enough how good this restaurant is. You can tell when you walk in, that they really want to put out the best food possible and take care of every customers dining experience. The ambiance reminds me of what we find on the west or east coasts, but put down in a lovely area of Omaha. The staff was so helpful and explained to me what each dish I was interested in was made. I had the Pasta Alfredo with portobello mushrooms. My GF ( who was a devout vegan at one time and suggested this place ) had the Eggplant Parmigiana. I tried both and was blown away at the flavors. I went in with my carnivore misconception, that I was gonna be eating "sticks and twigs" ( no offense to all the vegetarians and vegans ) but I was beyond wrong ( I admit it ) !! ( two exclamation points wrong ) What a great experience, such a great unexpected dinner. Even as a meat eater, you can't go wrong by visiting Modern love at least once! Get past the fact it's all veggies , it truly is amazing!

Yelp
This was our first time dining at Modern Love and we thought it was a fun change of pace, especially for a fish substitute for a Lenten obligation! Our sever for the evening was Liv! She gave wonderful suggestions and was very kind! I was blown away as to how attentive she was to us despite being very busy. I started with a Blood Orange Sangria for my drink. It was good, but quite sour for my liking. My husband got a regular margarita and it was pretty tasty. For an appetizer we chose the cauliflower wings and had them done up in the garlic Parmesan sauce. These were probably my favorite part of the meal! Not too heavy and a fantastic flavor. For my entrée, I chose the Chick'n Bacon Ranch sandwich. While I thought it was good, I thought the tofu was a little thick and lacking in flavor. I also wasn't a huge fan of the mushroom bacon. The fries were delish though!! My husband ordered the Hot Honee sandwich and thought the same of the tofu. If I visited again, I think I would probably try a burger instead. For us, it was a fun opportunity to explore outside of our comfort zone. A lot of great flavors and a fun environment.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The restaurant ambiance was beautiful. Service was nice too. I hate to hear this restaurant is closing because I will be to Omaha is a couple months again

Francis M.

Yelp
I still think about this spot years after coming for the first time. A wonderfully pleasant atmosphere with outstanding vegan goodies. The nachos were vibrant and tasted amazing; salty, tangy, and with an excellent crunch. Was a great place to stop for a nice meal after a long drive.

Yelp
Great place and yummy food!!! Al the food is so colorful and flavorful and big portions. Visited during the week for brunch and dinner on two different days. Definitely will visit again!
google avatar

Sumukh T.

Yelp
Came here for weekday lunch so the menu was more limited and not many people there at the time which was fine and made for a nice experience of just reading my book and having lunch. I got a reuben with a side of potato salad. Both were good and sufficient with what I would expect from vegan restaurants I've eaten at throughout the country. I'd say Modern Love did a good job and it's nice that in Omaha there is a vegan-specific restaurant and these kinds of offerings. At the same time, I wouldn't say their menu was greatly unique as compared to others in the vegan market. Nevertheless, I appreciated it and it is yummy so check them out.

Yelp
Tried the Garlic Alfredo and as the name states, very garlicy! Order if you're a garlic lover. Beautifully plated and wouldn't know there was no dairy. The ambiance and service were great as always!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
We stop in Modern Love every time we are in Omaha. It is such a cute space and has a great vibe. The service is also good. That said, the reason we keep coming back are the delicious nachos and "milk" shakes. I am not a full time vegan, I am just lactose intolerant and I am telling you, the food here is sooo delish!!
google avatar

Halle J.

Yelp
This food changed my life. I go to a lot of Vegan places. This one is sacred. I consider the chef a demigod I dont idolize celebrities, but I now idolize Issa I ate here every day I was in town and will be back just to eat here. I had the chicken and waffles, mushroom Swiss burger, Tofu Rancheros, nachos, Beet Reuben, chicken bacon ranch sandwich, feta and beet salad ALL of it was flawless, I cannot rave enough about this food, it's spiritual!
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
I'd like to start off by saying I'm am not vegan or vegetarian so I don't frequently have meals with meat alternatives. I ordered the mushroom swizz burger with no mushrooms. I didn't really like the burger, even when I added ketchup. It tasted kinda odd and maybe that's just because I'm not used to eating a non-meat burger! The fries on the other hand were amazing and such a huge portion! Our waitress was nice and we got sat as soon as we walked into the restaurant. The inside of Modern Love is nice and I liked all of the purple but I will say the chair was a bit uncomfortable.
google avatar

Sasha B.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! Wow this place has amazing vegan food! I am so satisfied and the flavor is amazing. We got the chicken parm sandwich and the pulled pork bbq sandwich! Both were excellent! Definitely worth the stop! The takeout service can be a bit slow so definitely order ahead. The restaurant is super cute, clean, and has a bar top as well!
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Such a fun cute place! I think this is the best place in omaha for Buffalo cauliflower!! So crispy and huge pieces always. The nachos were so filling I'm pretty sure we would've been fine just ordering that for us two. I went there for a friends bday and I ordered the brownie and they also put candles in it!! How cuteee! (They didn't have any complimentary birthday desserts so I did pay for it fyi)
google avatar

Makenzie L.

Yelp
And they done it again and will CONTINUE to do it again. The place is exactly like the name "modern" interior design and inviting as you feel the "love" for the customers and the art of cooking. It's impossible to decide what to order because everything not only sounds delicious but TASTES SO MUCH BETTER than you expect. I'm always blown away by the flavors and can't way to work thru the menu. OH AND everything is vegan/plant based so absolutely no tummy aches or guilt after chowing here.
google avatar

Debby N.

Yelp
Coming from Cincinnati for a wheelchair softball tournament, not expecting much vegan options in Omaha but were we astounded to find this place! The food was hands down the best vegan gluten free dishes I ever had! (And we travel all over the country). We lucked into half price drink hour, and those were also so yummy! If you are looking for a new location, please consider Cincinnati (Mason)!
google avatar

Jamie R.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The "chicken" sandwich needs a bit more sauce but the texture is there. The burger is almost perfect- I wish it had a bit more of a beefy mouthfeel but it's much better than 90% of veggie burgers out there. The fries use peanut oil and are delicious and crispy. The potato salad ain't half bad either. The place is a bit more formal than I imagined it being given it's mixed-use location but I had a great view of downtown Omaha. Our waitress was super sweet. I wish she knew more about how the kitchen substituted animal products but she was certainly a good guide to the menu. Overall excellent!
google avatar

Yvette J.

Yelp
The food is amazing. I've always enjoyed the food but the service has been "eh". They're not very attentive and caring. If you enjoy being left alone and no personal communication from service then this spot is perfect. I just feel like it's not for me anymore and I might just do to go orders. It just feels like I'm being a bother to even be there and that the servers have everything better to do than serve. Even at their old spot and they have had great service in the past so they had set a high bar in the past. I just feel "meh" at this point. Which saddens me because the food is so great!
google avatar

Nora M.

Yelp
On my way back to Omaha, I had to visit my favorite vegan place. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated fast. The place is very modern and cozy. We had the nachos and roasted garlic Alfredo. The portions are big so me and my friend got those two to share. The nachos are a staple and great because the cheese tastes exactly like cheeses! So if you miss the taste of cheese, you won't with this plate. The garlic Alfredo was creamy and filling. It was accompanied with fresh arugula and garlic bread. There was an option to add a protein but we skipped out on it.
google avatar

Traci H.

Yelp
I highly recommend the hot honey chicken sandwich. It was amazing! It was just the right mix of spicy and sweet. It is topped with coleslaw and we enjoyed it with a delicious potato salad. We also had the seitan buffalo wings, which are a must have on every visit!
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
Great vegetarian eatery! Ate there twice on our trip. Jen was our server and she was so kind, quick, and knowledgeable. The first time we had the "calamari" as an app and I had the Reuben and potato salad combo. Dessert was one of the cheesecakes. The second night we had the nachos and I had the hot honey sandwich and fries as my main. Will definitely go again when I return.
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
Food has changed over time and not nearly as good as it used to be. Unfortunately on my last visit the server tried to rip me off and overcharged my credit card for nearly $20. Clearly wasn't an accident as when I pointed it out he didn't even look at the receipt before saying he would correct the bill. The space is nice overall but time will tell if the food gets back to its original quality.
google avatar

Kirsten E.

Yelp
Meh. My husband and I eat at a ton of plant-based restaurants so we Ubered here from Old Town for brunch. The food was "whelming," just sort of whatever, which isn't a great report given the price. I ordered the seitan and waffles and somehow the waffle came out barely cooked but the seitan was cooked so long it was tough and dry. My husband's chicken bacon ranch sandwich was much better, but the fries were the real star of the show. I'd happily order those if I ever returned, but I can't imagine that will happen. That's largely based on the service and experience. When we arrived at 12pm on a Sunday (an hour after opening), we were the third table seated. After waiting probably half an hour for food, we were told that it had "been a slow start" that morning. We shrugged it off because we weren't in a rush, but then for the food to not be properly cooked was very disappointing. The icing on top was our interactions with the staff. We asked if the coffee included refills (pretty standard for black coffee) and were met with a very quick "no." Totally get that's your policy, but it's an odd way to treat a customer who you've already told you aren't serving in a timely fashion by your comment about the slow start. A refill would have been an easy and incredibly inexpensive way to make up for some lost ground with the time it took for the food to come out. Toward the end of our meal, another server came by to offer to bring the check when we were ready, despite still having plates full of food. We acknowledged her but didn't ask for it, and it arrived almost instantly (unlike everything else). She then began bussing the table while we, again, still had food on our plates and there was no indication we were done. We had gone ahead and paid because it was obvious she wanted to close out our ticket, but I had literally taken a fry off my husband's plate as she arrived at the table to clear it. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I just think this needs to be said given all the really good reviews. Perhaps today was an anomaly (I hope so!) but I'd hate for any other tourists to make the trip from downtown when there are TONS of fantastic food options (including vegan) right there.

Yelp
Food was very good. Cool restaurant name. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate and would come back again. Although it is meant for comfort food, it does have tasty healthier food (curry).
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Modern Love is horrible neighbor to the hundreds of people with whom it shares it's building. They get a food deliveries at 3:30am from noisy semis with backup beepers and the drivers slam the loading ramp on the ground like it's 3:30 in the afternoon.
google avatar

Jeannie N.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Omaha. This vegan restaurant in Midtown Crossing is a must-try. I first visited their original location over 7 years ago. At that time, my favorite part of the meal was the dessert - especially the rich cheesecakes. It wasn't until I visited again in the past couple years that I tried their Buffalo Mac and Shews with cauliflower which has become one of my top three favorite dishes in town. I'm obsessed with the flavors of the Mac and Shews, and I have gotten several friends and family members hooked on it. Ambiance is cozy and stylish. Staff have always been kind and considerate. Parking is metered parking on Farnam St.

Yelp
Our family lives in Colorado, so we stop here every time we drive through. We are in our RV with dogs, so we park in the lot next to the restaurant. Order take out, and eat in the RV. We've done this for several years, and it has always been delicious. This time I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich which was good, but i didn't taste bacon . The butter pickles added a nice contrast to the ranch. My honey got the ChickPea Cutlet Parmesan. The bread and sauce were great. The texture was a little chewy. I loved it, but he said it would have been nice to have a little crunch in it. The fries were so overcooked. I'm not a huge fan of skin on fries cause I don't love the dark color, and they're usually kind of soggy. We've had these in the past and loved them, but today, they were way overcooked. A couple of them were black. I had a Dutch chocolate shake, and he had a peanut butter shake. When we got to the RV, we put them in the freezer while we ate. When we took them out, they were still very thin. The walk from the restaurant to the RV is only a couple of minutes, so they shouldn't have been that loose. The taste was GREAT but it was like drinking thick milk. We put them back in the freezer to see if they'll thicken up. This experience hasn't changed our tradition. Every place has an off day. Our past experiences have been spectacular so this one being a little lacking won't stop us from coming back.

Yelp
We visited Omaha for the weekend, and this was our first restaurant stop. I am a sucker for seitan wings, and these were very good! I wish I had ordered 2 portions and just eaten that. The sauce was delicious. My husband ordered some Mac and cheese, as well as a milkshake. My choice was their version of a "crunchwrap" and I was not a fan of the combination of flavors and textures. He was disappointed his Mac and cheese had a lot of kale. We ended up switching meals And were both satisfied with the other's choice but I don't think we would order either meal again. Our toddler was the most satisfied of everyone and seemed to enjoy everything! Overall this seems like a great date night or family meet up place, and we would definitely come back again to try more stuff (and eat more wings!)

Yelp
Disappointing visit last night. The atmosphere and ambiance is trendy and low lit. The tables and chairs are very small, so it was a bit uncomfortable. The service was... okay. While our waitress was friendly enough, it took ages to be greeted and even longer in between each stop she made. Our food took an hour and a half to get to our table and we almost walked out because we were so hungry and our parking meter was about to expire. The food was decent. Fiancé ordered the eggplant parmesan and I ordered the seitan buffalo wings. Both entrees came out slightly warm, but not hot. They were out of multiple dishes and drinks which was a disappointing. It's clear there are some staffing and inventory issues that need to be addressed immediately. The concept and vision of Modern Love is great, but it's not be executed very well.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
I was visiting Omaha for work and decided to check out Modern Love because I don't come across vegan restaurants much. The inside of the space is nicely put together. I ordered the eggplant for dinner and gotta say, it was very good. Manhattan was also good. Here's why the rating is lower: The bartender who served me that day was ice cold towards me. I worked in the restaurant industry for ~7 years so I know the basics of greeting people and generally providing some sense of warmth to guests. To be clear, she wasn't directly saying anything out of line, but I couldn't shake the feeling that she was upset by my presence at this bar (I was dining alone and basically the only person at the bar at that time). She spoke to me about 3 times during the visit, barely making eye contact and just making me feel awkward and self conscious as I tried my best to just be nice and get through the meal. The real kicker? I left her an 18% tip, but upon looking at my bank statement, it looks like she changed my tip to a 25% gratuity - Coincidence? I'm not so sure. To be clear though, when I emailed the management they adjusted the charge with no questions asked, so good for them on that. Overall - good food, nice surprise in my visit to Omaha, but just left feeling like I needed to get out of there!

Yelp
The food and service were OUTSTANDING. I eat meat 4 out of 7 days and vegetarian 3 out of 7 days a week. I would rate this on par with the best restaurant of its class anywhere. I had the Reuben. It really was terrific. My friend had the chicken bacon sandwich. He loved it. The fact that they were vegetarian actually made them more appealing. This is a place which absolutely can, and does, please a carnivore as well as a herbivore. Do not be intimidated or put off by the fact it is vegetarian restaurant. It is just plain old GREAT. If you're looking for something both different and familiar you should try Modern Love in Omaha, Nebraska. I STRONGLY recommend this restaurant, and feel it will be enjoyed by BOTH vegetarians and meat eaters.

Kelley Q.

Yelp
Such a pretty and modern ambience! Great menu of all vegan food. I am vegan, and the rest of my family are not. We tried the fried mozzarella and poutine for appetizers, and they were both good. We ordered a mushroom swizz burger, chickpea parmesan sandwich, chicken bacon ranch sandwich, garlic alfredo, and a reuben. The standouts were the reuben (omg so amazing) and the burger. For dessert, the brownie sundae Ala mode was the winner. I loved it & will be back next time we are in omaha!
google avatar

Bracken K.

Yelp
Of course the vegan food is top notch. We had a chocolate peanut butter shake that was super tasty. For eats, we had seitan Buffalo wings & oyster mushroom calamari for our apps and roasted garlic alfredo & Buffalo seitan mac & shews for our entrees. Everything was great. The food was, of course, incredible. The service was great as well. They have a small but right fine beer selection. The spot was clean and welcoming. We'll definitely stop in again the next trip we have to Omaha.
google avatar

Janna P.

Yelp
Delicious! The crunch on the cauliflower Buffalo wings was addictive and the peanut butter chocolate shake was salty creamy and sweet. Expensive as heck but very tasty! The decor is lively and fun and I will definitely visit again. The service was nice too.

Meg B.

Yelp
This may surprise some of my Yelp followers, but this was my FIRST experience at Modern Love. And it was GREAT. I have heard rave reviews about Modern Love, and after all these years I finally went for lunch with a couple girlfriends. I ordered the Kros Strain Fairy Nectar to pair with my BBQ burger. Everything was DIVINE. From the burger, seitan patty with onion rings and coleslaw, I was in heaven. It was a huge portion as well. The fries were cooked to perfection and also a generous portion. I could tell the ketchup was housemade and fantastic. I could kick myself for not coming here sooner but glad I did!
google avatar

Jim N.

Yelp
It's great to see a fully vegan restaurant in Omaha. We tried the nachos, chicken bacon ranch sandwich, Reubens sandwich, and the peanut butter vanilla ice cream sundae. All were good, but I would say that $17 is steep for the nachos. Service was friendly and helpful. The mushroom bacon is unique and tasty. It's definitely worth a try.

Yelp
While passing through Omaha and craving some vegan food, we luckily found Modern Love. Opting for takeout dinner, we ordered the Cauliflower Buffalo Wings and the flavorful Mushroom Fried Chick'n as our main courses. While also craving a glass of wine, we were pleased to discover they offered full bottles for takeout, and we selected a white wine. We finished our meal with a yummy, peanut butter shake. Hope to pass by again!

Yelp
How do they make their food so delicious yet vegan?! Friend and I came in for apps and drinks and had the best time. I felt like our server kinda wanted to kick us out while we were chatting after dinner, but overall she was nice. They have some great, unique options for food and can make a lot of things gluten free! I felt good after eating the food which isn't always something I can say when I go out to eat places. The Kombucha Sour was wonderful - not very sweet & a little tangy! They have a bunch of seating and the vibe is neat. I would come back here!

Yelp
Truly among the best of the best for vegan dining. Never had a dish that I didn't like. This time we got the kale salad, always a fav. Wings were exceptional as always. We tried the honee sandwich by our server's recommendation and it was incredible, sweet and crispy tofu like you've never had before. Also had fried chik'n and potatoes which was yum. Love this place. If you are going out in a group of vegans, vegetarians and omnivores this is a perfect option because it's just amazing food that happens to be vegan.

Yelp
The food tastes good but I later that night had stomach issues due to the dinner. Ambience is good, but I am not sure if I will go there again.

Yelp
Lately, the cook is not changing her dishes to appeal to the healthier client - still too much salt and sugar on the menu.

Yelp
The butternut curry had great curry flavor (think Indian, not Thai) and the textures are just right. I would have liked more butternut squash cubes, but that's just because they were so good! They were also really fast (ordered delivery on a Tuesday night at 530, delivered by 620) with no reduction of quality. I ordered through DoorDash and noticed the prices were higher than if I did pickup, so just be aware of that.

Yelp
Driving across country we always try to find new vegan places. This had good reviews mainly. One said it was prepared unhealthy but only one mainly. So we tried. I got the chickpea sandwich it was so greasy dripping on my hand I ate less than half. The bun was nice and soft. The taste was not bad but I couldn't stomach eating all that oil. The fries were even worse. I think maybe four were somewhat edible the rest were soaked in grease. My husband had the Reuben and he said it was good. Not greasy. The potato salad was good. I would come back to try the main entrees.

Yelp
I cannot believe I haven't written a review for Modern Love! This is such a fun, unique spot in Midtown. I have eaten dinner here many times, and I have yet to not be impressed. A must-have are the nachos as an appetizer! This weekend I tried their brunch for the first time. I had the crunchwrap and my mom had the french toast, and both were AMAZING. Something to note is that you certainly don't have to be vegan to enjoy your meal at Modern Love. The food is so delicious, and many of their animal product substitutes taste just as good, if not better than their counterpart.

Yelp
The quality of service has gone down here dramatically. Most times they are either out of the nice sides to a dish that really make it, or they give you too much, or too little food, and the only times there's consistency is when the owner is in the state. The majority of the menu is salty and fried foods. Dirty tables, spoons, and cups don't help the ambiance.

Yelp
We sat down in one of only a few tables that were clean however the waitress seemed to be the only one taking tables. We looked over the menu realized nothing stood out to us so we decided to leave. The waitress hadn't came up to us yet so we just got up and left upon leaving she said "leaving guys" we said yes and proceeded to walk and she said "okay bye" in a rude tone and then said "patience is a virtue" which was very unacceptable and rude and it had nothing to do with time or anything at all and my partner reassured that it wasn't her and she said in a more annoyed tone " okay byeeeeeeee" so rude, we will never be going back.
