"It can be tough to choose just one of Budd Dairy Food Hall’s various vendors, but you should head over to Modern Southern Table. The short menu has Cajun, Lowcountry, and soul food classics, and an order of Alabama-style fried chicken with crispy skin, paired with sides like sticky sweet candied yams and savory Geechee red rice, is almost required. It can be tough to find a good version of fried catfish in the Midwest, but theirs gets a nice saltiness from the cornmeal batter. Grab your order and one of the Kool-Aid punches, aka “dranks,” and find a seat in the huge food hall or on the rooftop patio." - erin edwards, kindra peach

It's absolutely a wonderful spot for food, drinks and a place to socialize! Lots of options for cousine! Drinks from the central bar are unique and tabs can go from food court to roof deck, with game room floors in-between! (You don't have to close out a tab to go from floor to floor) Can't wait to be back In the area f9r work next week to try the other food options!

First time here , location was east to find and plenty of parking . There were so many options in the place , but I can for the soul food . The food was actually really really good . I had the fried catfish with yams and collard greens . Also had the kool-aid , was about $25 . Yams were sweet and delicious, greens were also very good . The catfish and cornbread both were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this place . My only critique is the cashiers took like 7 minutes to acknowledge my presence. She Was packaging another order , but could have at least said “hi, I’ll be with you in one second “ vs awkward silence . I was gonna walk away and try something else when she finally asked what I’d like to have . Other wise good experience

I ordered the Catfish special that comes with two pieces of catfish and two sides for a total of $25.95 w/ tip. The service was quick and the manager was easy going and answered all of my questions as a first timer. My order included two pieces of catfish with a side of greens and Mac. The catfish was seasoned beautifully but the greens lacked flavor. The Mac and Cheese was really dry and had practically no flavoring. I would try them again because I hear the Gumbo is really tasty.

Google
The food and service were excellent. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. The macaroni and cheese was “Thanksgiving” good. And they yams were so good. Can’t wait to go back.

Google
Two fish dinners. The catfish is fantastic. Seasoned and cooked to perfection with generous portion size. The greens were really good (like family made), the yams were slammin, green beans were best I've ever had. Only ding was the dirty rice was a little bit dry. Still had good flavor and tasted great, just dry. Cornbread was good. Great value, great food, good price. 99 out of 100, one single point deduct for the dryness of the rice, that's still 5 stars all day everyday. I'll be back, can't wait. Thank you!

I loveeeeeee modern southern table!!!! This restaurant right here needs to be a franchise hands down!!!!.... The food is always hot and fresh and on point every single time I order. My husband is a huge picky eater and modern southern table is his favorite he orders the chicken dinners twice a day 7days a week!.... the flavor of the food is literally the Alabama touch for real!!! You will never be disappointed!!! Sorry about the picture I started eating it before I took a picture.. it's so good 😊 Catfish dinner with 2 sides and cornbread 🤤🤤🥰🥰😋😋😋

Google
Service here was amazing! The cashier walked us through our confusion on what we thought we should order gracefully. 5 piece wings were served hot, fried fresh and were seasoned well however they were super small. Ordered regular and the ones with the dust. I think we should have gotten the 2 piece meal because it would have been a better deal but we were not sure originally on what to order. They were out of the rice so we tried Greens and Mac n cheese were tasty. Cornbread was also good. Would not mind coming back to try other menu items like the fish and other items when we come back to town l.

Google
Good food good vibe. If your looking for some delicious soul food this is the place we almost ordered everything on the menu. Chicken, cat fish, gumbo was good, okra, rice, corn bread was good yams and greens were delicious, mac and cheese was okay could be a little more cheesy. Received the gee chee red rice with sausage and bacon by accident because they gave me that instead of my mac and cheese so I had to go back to get the mac but I liked the rice better. Definitely will be going back when I have a taste for some good fried chicken.

Michael H.

Yelp
Amazing gumbo and red rice. Awesome staff!!!! It was exactly what I needed on cold and rainy day!

Alex B.

Yelp
Best Catfish in Columbus! That's right. Try it! My husband, mother-in-law, and I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes just for the food at Modern Southern Table. The food is incredibly savory. The trip was worth it. We will definitely return because the catfish, the fried chicken, yams, collard greens, and Mac-n-cheese were made to perfection. The restaurant is located in a food hall and the place has a great vibe!

Angel H.

Yelp
The whole experience give high school cafeteria or mall food court, which isn't a bad thi g but we went on a Saturday about 5v& it was already pretty crowded. We lucked up to catch a table opening. You order then wait on them to text you your food is ready. MST was just OK. I got two piece chicken with greens, macaroni and cheese & cornbread with the red Kool aid punch. The green had turkey & would've been much better but they were too salty. The macaroni & cheese wasn't that hot but very good potential. The chicken had WAY too much breading. Cornbread & Kool aid was good. I'll try the catfish next time. If you go there find a seat first! It's a very cool building with several floors. Amazing concept.

Marissa C.

Yelp
Modern Southern Table is conveniently located in the main section of the food hall, with a sleek look. There's a nice menu full of fried chicken, fried or blackened fish, and a whole slate of classic Southern sides, from candied yams to mac 'n cheese, plus hush puppies. On weekends, they also offer very cute mini pies. We were excited to check out the tasty sides and went for the mac and cheese and baked beans. Both were very good, though we'd give the edge to the baked beans. The staff was friendly and efficient. Seating is available around the food hall, and there is a serve your own water station by the bar. There's a small parking lot adjacent to the building, plus street parking nearby.

Mya F.

Yelp
The best gumbo I've ever had! Will be back! So rich and satisfying; hot and tasty. Friendly staff and great food .

Yelp
My family and I finally got around to checking this place out today and I must say, I was underwhelmed. Let's talk about the pros: Chicken: was perfect. It was well seasoned, crunchy without being overcooked, and the pieces were all a good size. Timing: Upon ordering the estimated time was 40-50 min, but I got the alert saying it was ready in about 20 min. I'll gladly take half the expected time! Portions: I do think the sides and overall amount of food I received for a $15 was very reasonable and I had leftovers. Now for the cons. All the sides, quite frankly. The collars greens were way too salty. Another review mentioned that so I think that's the norm. The cornbread was overly dry. The rice was undercooked, and while the Mac n cheese wasn't bad, it was salty as well. I don't know if I will be back again, but if I do it'll be for the chicken basket only. I'm not willing to try the sides again.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
This place is easily the best southern food I've had in Columbus. The greens are the best I've ever had and are a must try. The wait is long but it is so worth it every time.

Pari A.

Yelp
First time here, will definitely be back!!! Catfish fried to perfection, collards seasoned not salty and that mac and cheese?!?!?! YES and AMEN!!!

Will A.

Yelp
I had the Ocean Perch, fries, and coleslaw. All of it was very good. The fish was seasoned just right and the dipping sauce added another layer of goodness. The seasoned fries were a nice twist on an old favorite. The coleslaw was surprisingly good, it's not just an afterthought.

Dani G.

Yelp
Very rarely is a place worth all the hype but from the first bite I was sold. The fried catfish is fried to perfection. After a while it can feel like it's salty but tastebuds are different and I'm aware I'm a tad sodium averse. Even so, I loved it. The greens were the star of the show for me with a nice little kick to them as well. The Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but by no means was it bad. The customer service was great and I can't wait to bring my father. This place is in Budd Dairy Food Hall. It took about twenty minutes for me to get my food so I got a drink during happy hour at the bar that's very close by. Def check this place out! I even had enough for leftovers lol.

Elvira B.

Yelp
Husband and I decided to go here with a referral from my brother for our 40th wedding anniversary. I had blackened catfish and my husband had fried catfish and both were delicious and cooked to perfection. The coleslaw was delicious too. mac and cheese was dry no creaminesd to it so it will not order this again. JoJo fries were delicious as well. customer service was on point. Facility itself is pretty chilly if eating inside so dress appropriately. I recommend this place & plan to check out other eateries in this bldg as well. Rated 4 stars only because of the mac & cheese. Otherwise would have been 5 stars!!

Melitta S.

Yelp
Super busy on a Saturday night which speaks volumes for the food! We ordered fried catfish (blackened was sold out) Turkey greens and fried okra. Food was deeeelishious. Was accompanied by cornbread that was perfect consistency and taste ( gotta hate dry cornbread) I'd come again to try out the chicken

Richard F.

Yelp
I love this place, easily my favorite place at Budd Dairy! The place is def. worth the wait for the food. I always go with the fried chicken and the two sides and cornbread (mac & cheese and hush puppies). The chicken is always fresh and always has GREAT flavor, the best friend chicken in Columbus if you ask me. I would love to be proved other wise!

Oli G.

Yelp
Some local "influencer" ranted and raved about the Low Country dry rub on their wings which is a $1 more upcharge so I tried it and juxtaposed them against their regular "Alabama" fried wings. Albeit good with that "Low Country," that's earthy and smoky tasting flavored, their Alabama original tastes MUCH BETTER. It tastes better because it's well seasoned and flavorful on its own, a dry rub or enhanced flavoring isn't necessary. Hot sauce isn't necessary either as everything for the most part are FLAVORFUL. Their sides are very good, especially the mac and cheese and geechee red rice but the cornbread is MISERABLE. Everything here is a homerun but they need to collectively go to the drawing board and redo their cornbread recipe. It's sandpaper dry and tasteless. I kinda wished they cut corners, got lazy, and just used JIFFY cornbread mix out the box because their scratch recipe ain't it coach! Nevertheless EVERYTHING ELSE outshines their cornbread. They also had hella business and a steady flow of customers that superseded other food hall restaurants. They've got a good thing going there and have the market for soul food in that geographical diameter on lock. The only other places are Crispy Coop way in Grandview if they're even in existence anymore and Royals in the hood way east on 5th IN THE HOOD but ya might get your brains blown out trying to get a wing dinner fried in the same grease as their fish and everything else that's sprinkled with that white powder "crack" seasoning. Unlike Royals that I just mentioned, Modern Southern Table is in a safe, clean location. Hopefully they understand they've got a good niche operation going and don't start over expanding where overall quality suffers like the damn near defunct MELT, Hot Chicken Takeover, etc. Out of all the places to dine in Budds to me this place is #1 but please please please FIX THE CORNBREAD! 4 stars that would've been a 5 if it wasn't for that cornbread.

Tina G.

Yelp
Everything (but the mac and cheese) was delicious. Fresh crisp fish and chicken. The mac needs to made WITHOUT powdered cheese. I didn't see any "gluey" texture in it, just light orange look and lots of salt. The cornbread was sweet and moist. Sweet potatoes good. Greens? Well I think most of us are pretty particular about greens but it's flavors went well with the rest of the meal. The coleslaw? Like KFC. That's not that good to me as I don't like it chopped and prefer some color in it. Green and orange (carrot) preferably. Still, the place is worth stopping by again. I'll try the rice next time.....

Vie C.

Yelp
I probably shouldn't admit it, but I eat this every other week. The catfish (5/5) is so good and so are the greens (5/5). The cornbread is also good (4/5). The mac & cheese (2/5) is a hit and miss to me personally: sometimes it's good and other times, it's ok. Overall, I rate this meal a solid 3.75 out of 5. Oh, and the Kool-Aid... the best! The service is always good and the staff are pleasant.

Bev B.

Yelp
Could have been better... Will try other restaurants at the food hall and then decide if I will give modern Southern table of second try.

Diana P.

Yelp
Simple and delicious! I ordered the 2 piece meal with a side of Cole slaw. I almost always opt for white meat, but I wanted to switch things up and chose dark meat. I don't think it made much difference - I still loved it! The breading was very crisp and flavorful. My fingers were quite greasy by the end, which made me not want to eat all the breading, but it was too good to resist! Gotta indulge every once in a while! Corn bread is also provided in each meal and it's great. Service was fine and the portions were just right. Definitely one of the better fried chicken places in Columbus!

Mallory L.

Yelp
I've had this on my list of spots to try for a while, and finally got to go there for dinner. There was a delay in getting to order due to employees being out on break during dinner rush which was sort of weird but oh well. My friend and I both went with chicken dinners, we did the Alabama chicken because the spicy was sold out. The Mac is solid soul food Mac, elbow macaroni with good flavor. The candied yams have a different zing to them, I believe there's some allspice in there which my friend loved but I admit didn't do it for me. The cornbread was a nice addition and had some sweetness to it. The red cool aid I thought would be cherry but was actually like a fruit punch. In all, I definitely want to come back and try to spicy chicken flavor and get double Mac.

Yelp
Checked this place out for my birthday. The food looked really good in pics and I wanted to support a black business. The customer service was okay and the food was ready pretty quickly. I ordered the fried whiting with greens and Jo Jo fries aka wedges. I also got a Southern grape Koolaid to drink. The fish was just okay, I didn't realize until my second piece that it had bones in it. They leave the skin on, which turned my mom off, but I didn't mind. The seasoning just isn't what I expected, sort of bland in my opinion. The collard greens were the standout, they were packed full of flavor. Probably the best collards I have ever had, sorry Maw Maw! The Jo Jo fries were also, just okay. They give you some sort of sauce and I wasn't sure if it was meant for the fish or the fries but it was a nice compliment to both. The cornbread was terrible, it was a nice-sized piece but it was super dry and flavorless. The grape Koolaid was nice and sweet. I plan on coming back, but I would like to try the wings and the gumbo. Whiting 1-5=2. Collard Greens 1-5=5! Jo Jo fries 1-5=2.5. Cornbread 1-5=0. Grape Koolaid 1-5=4.5. Customer Service 1-5=3.5.

Ann S.

Yelp
Great fried chicken, hush puppies and fries! Would order again, for sure. Wished there was a dipping sauce (maybe ranch) for the large fries but still very yummy. Drinks were Hawaiian punches - forgot how sweet those are! I would probably opt for a different drink next time. Great spot in Budd Dairy Food Hall, which was hopping on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Yesterday (April 6th) was my third and last visit to Modern Southern Table. The first issue I had was with the young lady who took my order. I stood with my daughter in front of her waiting for her to acknowledge us. When she finally did acknowledge us, she snapped saying she was waiting for me to order. Now on my other two trips the customer service was better (not great but better). I was taken aback and that should have been my que to go elsewhere but I didn't (my mistake). Now to the food. On my very first trip to this establishment my food was excellent. The second trip it was noticeably not as good as the first time but yesterday it was a very noticeable drop off from my first trip (approx a year ago). The positives: The greens were the only bright spot. I order 2 fried catfish filets with mac&cheese with greens. The greens had some kick and were seasoned perfectly. The mac&cheese was MID! It tasted like it had been frozen then thawed and baked. I guess if you're not a nac&cheese connoisseur then it was pretty good BUT I know real mac&cheese and this "ain't it". Lastly the catfish was fried too hard. It was seasoned pretty good but the filets were on the smaller side and hard. The price is expensive and honestly not worth it based on the food!

Karen H.

Yelp
Wow. First time at Budds Dairy Food Hall. Had seen this restaurant online. Blown away by how good the food-catfish, whiting, yams, mac n cheese, hush puppies, cornbread and greens. Our order took approx 10-15 minutes. Quite fast. The staff were nice and helpful in decision making. . We have plans to go back in the next few days. BTW - go early bc food runs out!

Adrienne D.

Yelp
Tried Modern Southern Table at Budd Dairy Hall tonight. It's an hour wait for everything. The lady told me they have a lot of online and Uber Eats orders so...I can't get a bowl of green beans? Mac n Cheese? No. I don't understand this biz model. Maybe she makes more money from Uber Eats than she does walk-in customers. I don't understand how this works. A restaurant that can't serve you for an hour bc they have Uber Eats orders to get out. Wow. No ma'am. UPDATE: Owner replied quickly and will resolve issue. I do not write reviews for free food or perks. I appreciate her professionalism and trust that she will rectify it with her staff. I really want this restaurant to be successful.

Yelp
Having grown up in a traditional Southern family, it's delightful to find this style of food available at a local restaurant in the frozen North. I like to browse around at the Budd Dairy Food Hall, and this evening will be no exception. However, I selected two side dishes from the wonderful menu at Modern Southern Table to try out - I posted pictures of those two items: Southern Mac & Cheese, and Collard Greens with Smoked Turkey. To wash it all down with they offer an excellent Southern Kool-Aid Punch (sweetened just as I remember as a kid... a lot). The Kool-Aid Punch come in two flavors: "Red" and "Purple." If you don't understand the colors are flavors philosophy of Kool-Aid, you'll need to do a little independent research. This is quite a sweet, so be forewarned! I also had a look at the ( Southern) Alabama Fried Chicken and it looked incredible! They also have a Low Country Chicken, which is essentially their fried chicken basted in BBQ Spices - didn't see it but if it looks or smells anything like this Alabama Chicken I'll bet it's really tasty! You know what? I'm not browsing tonight - I'm going back for the chicken... ya'll! So I went back and picked up two pieces of the Alabama Fried Chicken & a side of Candied Yams - it smelled so good I devoured half of it before remembering to take a photo for Yelp, LOL! It is INCREDIBLE, and just like gramma used to make in her giant cast iron skillet! Plus there was CORN BREAD - real Southern corn bread!!! This place is def a new favorite!!!

Cecilia F.

Yelp
Modern Southern Table offers you the best of old style Southern food at the Budd Dairy Hall. The greens are the best I ever had. The Mac n cheese was not a disappointment. It was homemade & really good. I ordered their original version of fried chicken that was crispy & delicious. I can't wait to try the Alabama version. The service was surprisingly polite just like old days. This place has the recipe to be a winner overall! Best of luck on their continued success & I plan on continuing to visit

Somaar L.

Yelp
Food and service was great. I was not expecting a f9od vourt type of setting but I'm glad I decided to overlook my first impression. I would recommend this place to others

Cynthia N.

Yelp
The food was delicious we took family and friends . The walleye was delicious and greens are consistently good . Not a fan of the Mac n cheese but the sweet potatoes are great also . I have been here several times the fish is always delicious perch , catfish, you will not be disappointed.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I smelled the greens as soon as I opened my door for the delivery person. Fisrt time tryimg this place so got the breast/wing meal and the Southern veggie plate. I asked for chicken to be fried hard...they definitely did that as I struggled a bit with it, lol. THEY ARE HEAVY HANDED WITH THE SALT!!! While I enjoyed what I was able to eat, I noticed that all the food was extremely salty. Especially the greens-which I looked forward to the most. I'm hoping that food isn't usually this salty because I'd definitely like to eat food from here again. Sides were red rice, mac n cheese, greens, fried okra, yams, and cornbread. I definitely felt like I was at a Southern table eating Sunday dinner. Took a star off due to all the salt. I couldn't eat much of this due to that (I think I felt my heart screaming and crying). I ate all the yams and cornbread though, lol.

Alex S.

Yelp
After trying to plan a day to get to this restaurant for almost two weeks, I finally made it. Well worth the wait. The key to a good restaurant is the Greens and Mac and Cheese and this place did both correctly! The chicken was good but nothing to brag about (3.5/5) but the sides and Koolaid are the winners out of this meal. If you're looking for southern style food so far this has been the best option. The service was very comfortable and genuine. The atmosphere was a little loud but not do to the restaurant S/n Cluck Norris chicken sandwich crushes Popeyes and Chick-fil-A js #foodjournal

Kim W.

Yelp
Food delicious, return customer yes. Nice location, great parking. Love the atmosphere. Thanks for a great experience.

Alistair S.

Yelp
OMG!!!!!!! Your collard greens are amazing!!!!! I cant wait to come back and try more items!!

Namaste' T.

Yelp
Being an Alabama girl I felt excited to try everything on the menu ! Ordered the Mac n cheese, catfish basket, hush puppies and one of my favorites, fried okra; perfect for a cold night in . The okra & hush puppies were delicious ! The Mac had copious amounts of salt which made it impossible to eat. The catfish was perfectly light and crispy, but it to was overly salted. Everything was packed well for delivery with nice size portions. I would recommend asking for sauces on the side, not in the container, both sauces exploded all over the fish due to the heat. I believe everyone including myself has an off day when it comes to salting in a hurry, I'm really looking forward to trying them again !

Marlos S.

Yelp
All I'm saying is that first sip of Kool-Aid will have you saying "Lawwwwddd". This is real southern cooking that reminds me of my grandma's cooking. The portion are phenomenal and the staff is friendly

Theresa L.

Yelp
Love their food. It's excellent and I go there often. Just learned that '30 minute wait' doesn't really mean 30 minutes. Evidently, Door Dash and online orders come first, so when your 30 minutes is up, it can be an additional 20-30 minutes because the priority is for online and Door Dash, rather than people who are on site and who are waiting for their orders. Somehow, that doesn't seem like a good model-to make 30 become 60. That should be transparent up front so that a customer can decide to move on, rather than wait beyond the originally stated wait period.

Angela R.

Yelp
The fried chicken, okra, cornbread and potatoes were delicious and served hot. Love the open seating in the hall itself.

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Looking for options since the one place (breakfast/brunch) was closed. Saw some positive reviews so decided to check it out. It was a bit of a wait but definitely worth it. Everything was freshly made and tasted like grandma cooked it (especially the macaroni and cheese). Would definitely eat there again.

Dawn B.

Yelp
Family outing to Budd Dairy. My daughter and son was raving about this place. We ordered 2 catfish nugget basket and gumbo. I normally do not eat catfish because I had too much as a child, but I tried it due to peer pressure. Glad I did. The breading was so delicious and the seasoning on the catfish was good too. Yes I'm one of those people who have to take things apart and try it separately. I would have been happy with the hot sauce but my son MADE me try their special sauce, which takes it to another level. The only problem was that you get a good amount of nuggets with this small container of sauce that equals two ketchup packets for $15. Then they charge you $0.50 for each 2 oz container. The sauce was good but not that special. It puts a bad taste in your mouth since they didn't give you enough for your fish. I would have ordered extra for the fries, but felt like we were being worked over. My son said the fries weren't as good as they are normally. But they were very busy, which shouldn't be an excuse because now everyone there received sub par french fries. But that catfish was on point!!! I didn't eat the gumbo. I'm having that for lunch at work today. I had their kool aid. It was definitely worth the money. Would I try it again, yes I would, but I will make my own sauce at home. I wanted a sweet potato tart, but the young ladies kept looking at me as if I was speaking french. The only pleasant one there was a lady with black and red box braids whom I am going to assume was the owner because she was full of personality like she loved what she was doing. The others weren't rude, but not helpful. I believe I said I wanted to purchase a sweet potato tart three times and wasn't helped. The sign said "Don't touch the pies." Maybe I should have picked it up so I would have been forced to purchase it. ‍ I was trying to follow the rules and respect the establishment. The mini pies were dark in color, which is a sign that they were full of flavor. I'll come back and tell you about the gumbo.

Cory B.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night and was told that it would be an hour wait for food due to Uber eats orders. That does not make sense if you have face to face customers that you are turning away for online orders in a food hall. It may be advantageous to invest in a separate kitchen to fulfill online orders so your restaurant can serve the people that physically come to the food hall.

Aniya H.

Yelp
The modern southern table is probably the best southern food place in Columbus! #iswis The chicken is crispy and delicious, the sides are flavorful, and the people are so sweet! I swear I ordered a 2 piece chicken meal and they gave me like 3 or 4 pieces of chicken. Yes, the listed prices are $$ but ITS SO WORTH IT!!! If you're in town wanting some southern food, this is the place to go. If you're already at Budd dairy and maybe feel like trying something different and you see MST, don't think about it twice, just get it!!!

Paula S.

Yelp
This was by far some of the best Southern Food I've had outside of what I cook at home! The service was awesome! Employee at the register was very friendly. I didn't even mind the wait because I knew our food was being cooked fresh. We both ordered the 4 Whole Wings which were very well seasoned and piping hot. I ordered the Cole slaw and Hush Puppies...both were delicious. I went to ask for tartar sauce and the server suggested a sauce that would change my whole world! It did. Overall, this was an awesome experience and we will be back.

Yelp
I could eat buckets of their fried okra! The chicken was crispy and juicy. There was enough food for me to have leftovers and they were just as satisfying.

Yelp
This is the gumbo from Modern Southern Table at the Budd Dairy Food Hall. I really enjoyed the flavors of this dish. The sausage and chicken was fantastic and the spice level was just right. Overall I'd give it a 7/10. For $16 it's missing seafood! Could be shrimp, pieces of crab, lobster, crawfish, etc. and I would have given it a 9/10. Only reason it's still semi-worth it is that it's loaded with the meats that it does have . Worth a try if you're there.

Yelp
My daughter took me here for lunch a while ago and I had the fish. Big filets, plenty of seasoning, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese, cornbread. I would get that everytime, never disappointed. I had the gumbo tonight. Sooo much flavor, so much meat. I could eat the rice by itself. My new favorite.

Yelp
I have been looking for fried chicken to replace Clark's since they closed. Nothing has come close until I ordered from Modern Southern Table ... and I ordered it delivery!! I was supposed to get this southern drip thing but they couldn't make it, which was fine because I am not sure I would have even liked it! I only ordered it because it was a "favorite ." I live 20 minutes away (totally across town) from the restaurant but the food still arrived warm. The chicken was crispy and delicious!! The mac and cheese was amazing and the wedge fries were full and filling! Thank you soooo much!!

Yelp
I would like to say, this IS THE BEST southern food restaurant!!!! Even my 80 year old parents who came from the South LOVED it! They are really particular about their southern food! My dad has been making greens and frying fish for years! People still come to the house every time he cooks! When he ate the Modern Southern Table catfish and greens, he was thrilled at how good it tasted! In fact he kept saying "this food is really really good." Honestly everything at this restaurant is good and worth every penny!!!!!

Yelp
Good southern style food that doesn't disappoint. I ordered the perch, Mac & cheese and sweet potatoes and everything was delish! Dinners also come with cornbread. This was my second time here and I appreciate their consistency. Husband ordered the fried chicken dinner with collard greens and Mac & cheese and was pleased as well. Prices are a little on the high side, which is the one downside. Accurate rating would be 3.5.

Yelp
The food slaps. Catfish was delicious and I'm not even a big seafood/fish person. The mac n cheese dumps on most restaurants mac n cheese - this stuff actually has flavor. The rice stuff was bomb too. Sauce was fire. Cornbread could've been sweeter but good balance for everyones preference.
