Modern Times Beer - Belmont Fermentorium

Absolutely loved this spot. Dig the vibes. Beers are amazing and have a solid selection on tap. Highly recommend going for a flight (up to 4 small pours at a time), because they’re so darn tasty. The menu is completely vegan and GOOD. So dope to see that at a brewery. Portion sizes are huge. All the decor is on point as well, and it’s a spacious spot!

I went for the food and it was AMAZING!!! No crumbs were left and a to go order was placed 😂. The music selection was just a NO for me…I excepted a selection with more energy considering it was a Friday night. Definitely a place I’d grab bite at least twice a week if I live in Portland. Menu is 100% vegan.

I've lived in Portland a long time, and I had some trepidation concerning a non Oregon brewery opening in town. My fears have been put to rest. I have frequented this brewery dozens of times since they opened. Their food menu is vegan and I've never heard anyone actually complain about the lack of meat. The beers are top notch and there's a really great variety of styles. The new location is a major improvement, they expanded the seating greatly and there are quite a few new tables. I miss the flying Macho Man, but in the new space they did make a full wall design of his face with crepe paper. Bottom line, the best interloper brewery in Portland, and just one of the best breweries in town period.

I can’t get over how awesome of an experience Modern Times creates for their customers. In addition to delicious, crowd pleasing beers, they create an eclectic assortment of decorations, attitudes, and food. Glad to see that the spirit of their CA locations worked well up north.

As someone who prefers lagers and pilsners, I appreciate that Modern Times offers a great selection of these beers along with IPAs and more. They also have some wine and cider. Their food selection is all vegan and is varied. As a non-vegan, I enjoyed what we had, especially the brussel sprouts. Fun atmosphere too.

This place is awesome!! I was expecting a brewery vibe but it was very different, in the best way! The door guy was super friendly, he told us about the cool yarn hallway by the bathrooms. The had a huge tree and a crafts table so that we could make ornaments for the tree or decorations for the place. Enjoyed a beer flight and while we crafted. I would definitely come back here!

Loved the saison and a few other beers. We went for the rooftop deck. It’s quiet and lovely - a few tables in the shade but some in full sun - might be hot on hot days! Order at the bar and they bring you food and drinks. We had a Crunchwrap and the secret society fries and both were better than we expected based on descriptions! Full of flavor and the Crunchwrap was not greasy or heavy at all! Decorations were awesome. Pinatas everywhere.

If you don't think vegan is good eating, try the "Double Meat" burger and you'll change your mind! Excellent beer selection, something for everyone (if you drink beer that is). Be prepared to stand for a bit before getting a seat, it's a popular place!
