Mofongo Restaurant Calle 8 - Review - Little Havana - Miami - The Infatuation

"The maximalist plating on display at this Calle Ocho spot can sometimes be a red flag. But the glistening (and gigantic) chuleta kan kan that arrives perched on a sword is also crispy and juicy. Take the hint from the giant pilón out front and order mofongo. We like the trifongo, which has a blend of green plantains, sweet plantains, and yuca mashed together. Top it with churasco and punchy garlic sauce. Though Mofongo is one of the shinier Puerto Rican restaurants in Miami, you can still show up in jean shorts and Havainas for lunch and no one will care. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE Food Rundown Bacalaito Frito We like that the batter is mixed with cilantro. It gives these thin cod fritters a freshness. It’s an easy starter to share with a hungry group. PlayMute video credit: Mariana Trabanino Chuleta Kan Kan The only thing that could make the chuleta kan kan’s presentation more surreal is if it came out of the kitchen with “Ride of The Valkyries” playing in the background. Still, it’s pretty grandiose as is. The huge chuleta is juicy, with crisp edges, and it’s a battle to finish. Thankfully, it makes good leftovers. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino Trifongo Churrasco Ordering mofongo at Mofongo is mandatory. Ordering trifongo is strongly encouraged. Do that and you get a perfect mix of salty yuca and sweet plantain. Get it with churrasco and garlic sauce—our server’s favorite (and now ours too). photo credit: Mariana Trabanino" - Mariana Trabanino

I had such a wonderful experience at Mofongo’s in Miami! The food was absolutely delicious—full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made the dining experience feel special. On top of that, the ambience was warm and inviting, the perfect mix of lively and cozy. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food and great vibes in Miami!

From the moment we walked in the attention and service has been hands down the best. Our server was Daniel who was on top of needs as soon as we sat down. The appetizers were tasty, drinks great and the food quality excellent, we will definitely be returning.

Yesterday we visited Mofongo Restaurant for the first time and were delighted with the atmosphere, the service, and of course the food; everything was delicious. We received personalized attention from Julia, a cheerful, attentive woman who was always concerned about us and our needs. We didn't have to wait long because we had made a reservation, and we even got in before our scheduled time. Everyone was delighted with the food: the sancocho was delicious, the shrimp mofongo was delicious, and the rest of the dishes were delicious, too. The drinks were also excellent. Our family reunion at Mofongo was excellent, and we highly recommend it.

Google

What a great place. Veronica our waitress was the best. It was her 3rd day but she was wonderful. And the food!!!! All was great. The best beans I had. True Puerto Rican taste!

Google
Great delicious and traditional puertorican food. Chill place and the background music was great! Food came out with perfect timing. We even got a flight of "coquito" on the house.

Google
Authentic Puerto Rican food in little Havana!!! The food is spot on. The servers are top notch and well versed on their dishes. The great thing about Puerto Rican food is the dishes are often made of fruits and vegetables with protein and rice. Add those seasons and you are on your way!!! Why go to PR to try these delicious recipes. Just stop on in.

From the moment we walked in, the service at Mofongo Restaurant was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm, vibrant, and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. We started with the bacalaito frito, which was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. For our main dishes, we had the churrasco mofongo and the chuleta kan kan. Both were incredible. The churrasco was tender and flavorful, and the mofongo complemented it beautifully. The chuleta kan kan was massive and delicious, easily enough for two people in my opinion. To end the night, we had the tres leches dessert, which was probably the best I have ever had. It was moist, rich, and just sweet enough. I highly recommend Mofongo Restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Finally slid to MOFONGO! Slammmmmmin... Was in the mood for Sorullitos and Bacalaitos and found the authentic Puerto Rican spot! This gem is in Little Havana super nice neighborhood! Of course i ordered more stuff as you'll see! Had to order the churrasco, pork dish, soup etc... Service top notch, and the authenticity was real close! I'll be back for sure!!!

Yelp
Brought my sister here while in town so she could see for her self how delicious the food and drinks are. This gem is in Little Havana part of town, the street this restaurant is located on has lots and lots of great shops, bars, and places to eat. So of course I had to orderer a mojito passion fruit to be exact. 10/10 my fave! Entree was red snapper and chicken mofongo 10/10 Our server was good, he gave up complementary shots of Coquito. 10/10.

Yelp
A must try if you are visiting the Little Havana! The staff was friendly and attentive, the restaurant has a rustic vibe and they play great music. We ordered some stuffed tostones and short rib mofongo. The tostones were a bit dry but the stuffing was delicious, a good mix of shrimp, ckn and steak. Now the short rib mofongo was to die for! Meat was tender and flavorful. My piña colada was delicious too. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Been here 3 times now and the Mofongo does not cease to amaze me! First time I had anything Puerto Rican and it is soooo good. I go for the Tri Mofongo with veggies. My meat lovers friends had the Mofongo with short ribs and were really happy too. The portion is a lot, so one Mofongo for 2 people is definitely enough. On the weekend there usually is a wait for the table, but you can just stroll down the street and listen to some live salsa music at one of the bars until your table is ready. I do wish there was some more vegetarian options other than the veggie Mofongo and a couple of apetizers, 'cause I want to try moooore! Pro Tipp: ask for their hot sauce, it's worth it!

Yelp
Came here to kill time before my delayed flight that got canceled. My daughter didn't like her octopus salad. My other daughter vomited and felt sick from her steak and onions. The mofongo in my stuffed chicken was hard and needed more flavor. Also I didn't realized it was wrapped in bacon which I didn't favor. I like that they had pieces of pork in the rice, it was tasty. I tasted my daughter's guava cheesecake, it had a nice smooth soft texture. The server was great and my mojito drink was top notch, but the food was not. I noticed the receipt was extra high, they added a service charge without my knowledge. I had to see itemized receipt to find out. If I ever come back here again, I'll stick with just drinks and maybe try another dessert, but definitely skipping the meals.

Yelp
My Boricua friends have been recommending this place if I want to try real Puerto Rican food. I have to say it's an explosion of flavor, and it did not disappoint. For me, trying Puerto Rican food for the first time, the mofongo was a little strong on garlic, but it was delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered the tostones rellenos mixtos, which were my favorite, then the mofongo de churrasco (it's giant, so as a tip, I would share it with someone), plato tradicional, which includes carne frita, arroz con gandules, and pastel. Then, to drink, we decided to go with their piña colada and Medalla beer, and of course, at the end, they offered us complimentary coquito, everything was great!!

Yelp
Delish puertorican food , good for your soul!!!! We went crazy and order lots of food and everything was fabulous, and super tasty. We order arañitas, chicharrón de pollo, sancochito, mofongo, chuleta kankan, short rib, and piña coladas. We had a really good experience, we are glad we went back , we haven't been there in a longtime. The service was amazing, we were helped by a nice Cuban guy , I forgot his name...I was hangover...this good brought me back to life. Ambience was fun, great salsa music and friendly people.

Yelp
Puerto Rican Power This incredibly lively restaurant is quite the Calle 8 icon. Though they don't serve the traditional Cuban cuisine of Calle 8, they do a great job representing the Puerto Rican community of Miami. The place is is bustling with people but they do a great job with turning the tables quickly. The interior is beautifully decorated and takes you to PR for just a second. Each dish is well made, the mofongo was fresh and creamy. Sometimes if it's old, it can get a bit dry, Mofongo clearly knows what they're doing. The steak was cooked to perfection at a nice medium rare temperature. This is a great place to take some tourists or your family for a fun time.

Yelp
disappointed I didn't get the puertorican vibe. Dark curtains gray walls no art work to symbolize the island. The mofongo was dry not tasty, the pina colada was horrible. The cheese and guava paste was delicious the pastel half the size it should be , was also good. I wouldn't go back or recommend. owner needs to add more Island pizzaz too darn bland .

Yelp
My husband heard about this restaurant a few months ago and we had been wanting to try it. We went for lunch at around 1pm. I ordered pastel and of course alcapurrias for appetizers. The alcapurrias I felt had hardly any meat in them. For lunch I ordered the Mofongo with Churrasco and I found that so good. It was delicious and I have no complaints. My husband ordered the Churrasco plate and we found that for $34.00 it was not worth it. He found the rice on the salty side and the churrasco was really small. We did wait a bit for the meal to arrive and the restaurant wasn't really that busy. But hey my meal was great so it was worth the wait for me. Service was good everyone was attentive making sure our glasses always had water.

Yelp
Food 10, Service, 10, Vibes 10. That's it! Seriously, Mofongo on Calle Ocho is a true gem. If you're ever in Little Havana, you gotta pull up!

Yelp
My friend dragged me here because she was in the mood for mofongo and although that is not my go-to-dish, I'm happy I gave the restaurant a try. They have has two outdoor hightop tables, one of which we occupied due to having a furbaby as company. The restaurant on the inside has a nice large bar and is very cute/kitch in the way most restaurants are on 8st. I ordered the carne frita which had good flavors and was juicy, it came with beans and white rice and was a large dish. My friend had the mofongo which she really enjoyed and definitely deserves an A+ for presentation. Overall, is this the most authentic choice for PR dishes? That remains questionable, but it is a cute option for something other than Cuban food while on Calle Ocho.

Yelp
Authentic and Delicious everything was great. Thank you for providing great service they treated the wife and I nicely they guided us through their menu and made amazing recommendations. The ambiance was a bit too quiet but thats fine because it was during the day on a weekday calle ocho gets busy at night. Definitely shouldn't skip this place when visiting little Havana.

Yelp
Excellent experience in this Puerto Rican menu restaurant sat at It's bar in the little Havana neighborhood. We started with an alcohol versión piña colada and cod fish appetizer they were ok, we shared a large mofongo-mashed plantain with shrimp in a pharmacy type mortar it was very tasty, filling & you should have a cup of water close by to drink from, we took home the uneaten portion. Were treated to an on the house coquito dessert drink excellent. The waiter was excellent & explained, calmly profesionally the menu as well had a long conversation with the manager. I guess we got lucky finding parking right on the main road SW 8 St. Nice ambiance with excellent decorations inside, we just walked in. Did search of best places to eat mofongo and found this place.

Yelp
My sis,her 2 daughters, & myself had to kill time before our flight home(which ended up getting cancelled which is another story). My sis decided to go here(I wasn't too hungry to pick). Plus it was her turn to pick the restaurant we eat in next. We take turns. We walked in & got seated right away. It was a good vibe. Spanish music was playing(not too loud but just the right amount of volume). The staff was super friendly! I loved the way the inside was decorated. The walls had art on it. Although,we were in Little Havana(which is prominently dominated by Cuban restaurants) my sis chose this place. It is a Puerto Rican style restaurant. I wasn't hungry like that so I picked on everyone's food. My younger niece ordered octopus salad. It came w/ tostones as a side. My older niece ordered steak w/ white rice & red beans. My sister ordered chicken w/ monfongo(mashed plantains). It came w/ rice w/ gandules (pigeon beans)& a salad. Everything was tasty! I ordered a coconut mojito & my sis a passion fruit one. They were so good & had the right amount of alcohol. It wasn't bottom shelf rum neither b/c I can taste the difference. For dessert we ordered a guava cheesecake to share. The cheesecake was so delish! Not too sweet & the guava sauce on top gave it a punch. The waiter gave my sister & me 2 little shots of coquito for free(which tasted so good).Coquito is a Pr traditional drink usually made around the holidays. It kind of taste like eggnog but it's coconut cream/milk based w/ rum. Some ppl. Do put eggs in their coquito just like eggnog. Instead of nutmeg we use cinnamon & cinnamon sticks in it. It's a must try. If you're ever in Little Havana in Miami check this place out!

Yelp
Something different on Calle Ocho. This is Puerto Rican food. And it's pretty good. We were there on a busy day and luckily did not have to wait long for a table. Service, however, was pretty slow, maybe because the small place was so full. No water glass refills I ordered the stuffed tostones, with chicken and creamy garlic sauce. Delicious. Five come with an order, more than enough. I enjoyed my left overs the next day. My husband had the name-sake mofongo - mashed plantains with skirt steak (recommended by the waitress) served in a nice wooden bowl. He also had the creamy garlic sauce. Our neighbors urged us to get the chicken broth to add to the plantain - it took it to another level. Again, more than enough for one meal.

Yelp
Lovely intimate restaurant in Little Havana which pays tribute to Puerto Rican culture. Reservations are a must on busy evenings. The staff were amazing and my waitress provided great food and drink recommendations. The coconut and passion fruit mojitos were so good but be warned they will creep up on you. The shrimp platter was delicious and I almost licked my plate. The shrimp mofongo was packed with such great flavor and a hefty portion. Self-parking is limited but valet was offered.

Yelp
First time having Puerto Rican food and let me say I'm glad this was the place my wife chose. It's now my favorite cuisine and whenever we're in Miami, we'll have to stop here. The food here is absolutely delicious. There Mufungo is the perfect balance of all flavors which was WILD to me. I had never experienced salty, sweet, savory, acidity, spicy, and everything in between harmonizing together at one time. It was perfect! I ordered mine with pork belly and let me tell you. FANTASTIC! Crunchy on the outside; soft and tender on the inside. My wife enjoyed her traditional plate as well! The empanadas were juicy and flavorful and paired well with their version of hot sauce. Gotta get it! Wash it down with a draft MODELO and you'll be set! The service was amazing and the place was beautiful! They'll take your picture and for $20 you can it framed. The music was on point and the atmosphere was inviting. Will I eat here again?? Hell yeah!

Yelp
Food is delicious and authentic. Staff is very nice and friendly. Food comes out quick and hot. The decor is traditional lively, colorful, and bright. I had the trifongo with shrimp and it was delicious. My husband had the steak mofongo and he said it was very flavorful. The arañitas were crunchy and desserts were mouth watering. They also give you a complementary coco shot to end your meal. Overall it's a nice and good vibe place for a family meal in the heart of little Havana.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant. The food was good. The portions are huge . The waiter told us that the Mofongo was enough for one person. I think it is for like 3 people, we had so much left overs. The taste was delicious, we tried the mixed seafood, fried pork, and churasco mofongo all are delicious. At the end of our meal they brought us little shots of coquito a perfect touch for the ending of the meal. The only downfall to this restaurant is that it was so hot inside.
google avatar

Yelp
If you want to try a restaurant with a very authentic PuertoRican food ...THIS IS THE PLACE...mofongo stuffed with octopus is WOW ...and the carrucho salad...just like any good rest in PUERTO RICO

Yelp
Absolutely love Mofongo! The traditional dishes brings me back to my childhood. The drinks are great specially the mojitos. The staff is amazing speaking both English and Spanish. The restaurant has outside and inside seating which is nice when the weather permits in Miami. Try the Plato traditional or the mofongo. Won't regret it.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool spot on Calle ocho to try mofongo. Definitely worth a visit if you have never tried the dish. Comes with a free shot of coquito at the end of dinner! A little touristy but a fun experience overall.

Yelp
Had an early Mother's Day lunch with my mom and I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. We're Puerto Rican and finding a good PR restaurant in Miami is hard. This was one of the best meals we've ever had, my mom loved it so much she started to reminisce about her childhood, the taste took her back to being on the island. Wow! The arroz con gandules reminded me of the one my grandma used to make for us. It's not a large restaurant so I can see why they don't take reservations but I would totally wait if I had too. The Piña Coladas were delicious and the shot of Coquito at the end of the meal was the perfect touch. Our server even gave us an extra shot so we could take it for Abuela as she passed a few months ago and this was our first Mother's Day without her. It can be a little warm as the day we went it was pretty hot outside and it didn't appear the a/c could keep up but that's Miami for you. Not too uncomfortable to eat though and the meal was worth it.

Yelp
If i lived near here id go here twice a week. Food was amazing and great service! I used to work with a friend from puerto rico talking about mufungo all day long. Was finally able to make it this way and damn, i was not let down! Id send all my friends here. They werent even open yet and we walked by. They opened early to let us in! Great people. Also what a cool spot. The shape of the restaurant is very homey and inviting. It feels so authentic being there. Ive been to puerto rico a few times.

Yelp
This place never disappoints!! Ugh!!! The mofongo with pork is sooo good it has me salivating just thinking about it! The appetizer platter alone will have you falling in love. The staff is friendly. The vibe is awesome. The food and drinks are superb. It's right in the middle of little Havana! I mean, you just can't go wrong here!

Yelp
Went here for a date night and it was really good. The restaurant was semi empty but the service was still pretty fast. The fried cheese was really good especially with the guava sauce, I wish I would got some of that sauce to go. The pina colada was good I was definitely a little tipsy after drinking half of it lol. I believe the other appetizer was like a fish fritter. It was Okay definitely needs a sauce to go with it. For the entree I ordered the steak and onions. The rice and beans were delicious but the steak was a tad bit dry. Definitely order something else if you're a steak person. My bf ordered the many with pork. The pork was very tender and flavorful. I will definitely come back here to try other things.

Yelp
My recent dining experience at Mofongo Miami was undeniably delightful, immersing me in the heart of Puerto Rico's vibrant culture. From the inviting ambiance to the welcoming service, this restaurant is a gem worth exploring. The decor exudes a true Caribbean and Puerto Rican charm, creating a laid-back and authentic atmosphere reminiscent of Old San Juan. The servers made us feel like cherished guests, offering insightful recommendations from their bestsellers, adding to the overall enjoyment of our evening. Now, let's talk about the food - a symphony of flavors that captured the essence of Puerto Rican cuisine. The presentation of the Mofongos in the Pilon was a visual treat, instantly transporting us to the streets of Puerto Rico. The Churrasco a la Parrilla was cooked to perfection, and the Trifongo Mixto tantalized our taste buds with its delightful medley of tastes and textures. The Mofongo de Camarones was a delightful blend of shrimp and mofongo, offering a harmonious dish that satisfied our cravings. Mofongo Miami's diverse menu catered to all palates, boasting numerous mouthwatering dishes. We couldn't resist the temptation of their signature Piña Colada, served creatively in a pineapple, a refreshing treat that we thoroughly enjoyed throughout the meal. While the food was undoubtedly delicious, I must mention that some dishes leaned slightly towards the salty side, which slightly impacted the overall enjoyment. Hence, my rating of 4 stars. Considering the generous portion sizes and the overall dining experience, the prices at Mofongo Miami remain reasonable, making it a fantastic value for money. We left the restaurant content with satisfied appetites and even had some leftovers to enjoy later. Nestled on Calle 8, Mofongo Miami is surrounded by a rich tapestry of culture and lively music, elevating the entire dining experience. In conclusion, Mofongo Miami impressed us with its welcoming ambiance, warm service, and authentic flavors. Whether you're a seasoned lover of Puerto Rican cuisine or a curious food explorer, this restaurant is undoubtedly worth a visit. Just be prepared for a dash of salty delight on your culinary journey at Mofongo Miami! Follow Sassy_Eatz for more food reviews

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Came here after the Marlins game and Yoana, our server was as fantastic as the food was. We had the beef empanadas and the rolled sweet corn and we began to get a glimpse of what tastiness was awaiting us. For entrees we had the pork cubes with rice and I had the chicken dish with the plantains and cheese melted over it with the Spanish rice and salad and my boyfriend had the steak and onions with the rice and beans. I don't know if we've ever had anything more delicious. The food is soooooo flavorful, it's incredible. We were hungry so forgot to snap the appetizers before digging in but man! You have got to try this place! They cap off your night with complimentary coquito shots!!! This place is a must taste and the atmosphere, decor and little instrumental accompaniments make for a very nice evening. Wish there was one closer to us in Palm Beach County.

Yelp
We had a 30 minute wait so we walked around then they seated us right away outside which was nice flavor of calle ocho. We had the trio mofongo - very moist and tasty. The garlic shrimp mofongo - the shrimp was tasty but the mofongo was dry and oily on the bottom. The mofongo we had in puento rico was much better. chicharrones were dry could have been more crispy and moist. It is better if you speak Spanish.

Yelp
We were able to try Mofongo today and it was worth it. Our waiter Gabriel was amazing and his recommendations were on point. Food was delicious! It's definitely a place to try. We had the empanadas, mixed stuffed plantains and shrimp mofongo. Go check them out.

Yelp
This place is ALWAYS a hit the mofongo is DELICIOUS and the steak on it is soooo juicy!!!!! If you're in downtown this is a great lunch/ dinner spot it will not disappoint. I've been here multiple times and will continue to go more! It's right on the strip of little Havana so it's a great vibe there's music and so much going on you will definitely enjoy your time here! The service is amazing they are very attentive.

Yelp
This place made my Mothers 75th Birthday extra special. My Family and I will be forever grateful. The food was excellent and very generous but the service tonight gets 10 stars!!! Dairon was extremely patient and attentive to all of our request and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. They sang Happy Birthday Bomba and Plena style and Mom was ecstatic! If you're in the area please visit this place. You wont regret it!! It felt like the servers were a part of your Family. The sancocho was off tonight. Didn't taste at all like the first time, but everything else was cooked nicely.

Yelp
FANTASTIC! This was THEE best food I had on my trip to Miami. The mofongo was soooooo good! It was honestly too big for me to finish. And the tamarindo mojito was GREAT! I never had a tamarindo mojito before but I want another one already. Honestly, I wish I would have found this place much sooner because their food was better than the fancy spots on South Beach

Yelp
My out-of-the-town friend wanted to try this place and I love mofongo, so we're more than happy to give it a try. Going in it was great vibe, colorfully painted walls, waitstaff in tropical attire, the place looked fun, happy and happening. My friend, being the tourist, opted for the pina colada in a pineapple, but was underwhelmed with the taste. As a tourist, she also wanted the huge, IG-able kan-kan pork chop, which is basically a fried pork chop with the belly chicharron attached and arching like a rainbow on the plate. We pretty much spent the money for a photo op. The pork chop was so dry and tough. The chicharron was no better. We usually love the crunchy skin, but this was so hard that they may break your teeth. The mofongo was a dry, dense, tasteless puck. The shrimp in our other mofongo could have been fresher. Our waitress was also rather pushy, and impatient with us as my friend, trying Puerto Rican food for the first time, had a few questions about the menu. We left half the food uneaten, and I feel sorry for the tourists who came here for their first taste of mofongo. Puerto Rican food could be so much more delicious than what this place offers.

Yelp
If you're visiting Little Havana, Mofongo is not to be missed. The restaurant is highly rated as it is, but after checking it out for myself, now I know why. First, the service is pretty good. Our server was attentive, fun, and really took care of us without being overbearing. The atmosphere inside is lively - Latin music is playing, some of the servers are singing along and really appear to be enjoying themselves. The menu has a lot to offer and I really liked that you can customize your Mofongo options to include green plantain, ripe plantain, or even yuca - as well as a variety of sauces. Be warned that the Mofongo is huge! It comes out as a towering pile, almost bigger than your head. Probably enough for two people to share honestly. Our server brought out some hot chicken broth for us to pour over the Mofongo to soften it up, and a pink sauce for dipping. Everything was super flavorful! The shrimp was large and juicy. The carne frita was smoky and moist too. If I had a bottomless stomach I would have kept eating and eating it. Luckily, the Mofongo is already packed in a plastic container inside of the vessel it comes in, so it's easy to pop a lid on and take it to go. The meal is also finished off with two little shots of coquito, to our surprise. And all this was at lunch time on a Monday! I would absolutely go back next time I'm in Miami.

Yelp
We were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is nice but hot. Our drinks came out pretty fast, not so for the food. The food was delicious though and so were the coquito shots at the end. Did not care for the 18% "service charge" which is not the tip.

Yelp
Service was just terrible. It's not like the bartender was slacking. I've been here once before with friends and our waiter was just fantastic. The thing was he was all over the place. He needed some help behind the bar. We ordered two appetizers and it took forever. We sat at the bar with empty glasses for a few minutes waiting for the bartender to acknowledge us. After a few minutes I just gave up and asked for the check without ordering our dinner. They better start getting organize before it's too late. I'm done with this place, it's just not worth the hassle

Yelp
Outstanding!!! The only downside is trying to find parking in Little Havana (& pricey at that). Food was just amazing! Started off with the fried cheese with guava. Not what I was expecting and just excellent! Next up I ordered the chicken breast mofongo. I could only eat half as the portion is a decent size but very filling. BFF had the combination plate (fried pork (chicharrons), pastele, and arroz con gandules). Lastly, dessert was flan de coco(nut). BFF also had "cafe con leche" as an after meal coffee. Service was excellent and the servers were so genuinely friendly, attentive, and helpful. If there was a "con" it would be that prices are a tad bit expensive but this place is also in a tourist trap.

Yelp
Wanted to try this restaurant with Puerto Rican cuisine. It's in the heart of little Havana super cute area full of tourist! The restaurant is Puerto Rican themed, nice and cozy. The service was great! The food came out quick! The server was super helpful with helping us pick the right amount of food for our party. We ordered a sampler platter, and the protein was flavorful and delicious! However, the yuca, plantains and the cheese thing all taste like the same oil they were deep fried in. Shrimp mofongo was great and the cocktails were delish!

Yelp
This is the epitome of Puerto Rican food. True to its name, the Mofongo here is absolutely delicious. The ambiance and the service were a solid 10/10. Everyone was welcoming, kind, and friendly. Would eat here everyday if I could.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Mofongo. We usually go to the Cuban restaurant next door, but this time we decided to try here. I have never had mofongo before but it was sooo good! I also got Puerto Rican rice which was amazing. It was 5 of us and we were really happy! The vibe was nice as well.

Yelp
Mofongo is a delicious Puerto Rican restaurant. As soon as you walk in it feels like your at a restaurant in Puerto Rico. They have live music and the service was amazing. I ordered the seafood mofongo which was delicious, it has so much flavor. I also got the empanadas which were so tender and juicy.

Yelp
Rico como siempre. Lo recomiendo. La chuleta can can, morcillas, bacalaitos, y tremenda selección de bebidas.

Yelp
Be very careful with this establishment when paying, I went Saturday with my fiancée, paid with my debit card which I keep in a RFID protected wallet and which I haven't used for a long time, come around Sunday I have almost $4000 in fraudulent charges, I did notice that the waiter disappeared after I gave him my card for a long time, don't know his name, but he did tell us that he came over the border 2 years ago. Ive been trying to speak to the manger to look at the cameras footage,, but the phone goes straight to voicemail.

Yelp
This. Food. Was. Amazing. The portion sizes were pretty big and we were staying in a hotel, so we didn't want to order too much. Everything we had was awesome. The garlic sauce on the shrimp Mofongo was incredible. The ribeye was so tender with a little char. The jibara chicken was awesome with that sweet mango sauce. The only thing I would say is that the tamarind mojito was warm, but other than that, this was a great place! Hands down would eat here again!

Yelp
We came in after the Gay8 celebration on Calle Ocho, so I know our experience probably wasn't the same as a "normal" day there. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait, but were in seated about two minutes. We were guzzling water to try and sober up, and our servers continually kept our glasses full, despite the fact that every table was taken and they were clearly busy! I ordered chicken mofongo and my friend ordered pork mofongo. It arrived quickly and was hot and ready to eat! The food was absolute delicious, and the garlic sauce they included in the side was to die for! I would LOVE to come back to this place and would recommend it to anyone!
