Absolutely amazing place! The menu is so big, you are going to make the effort to come back and try something else you couldn’t get to. Although it could be friendlier for those who need more accessibility, the vibes of this place are incredible! The service is great, and the food is incredible!

Google
Very disappointed with the taste of everything. Skewers had no flavor, ramen was mediocre at best, and the soup dumplings were bland. Overhyped in my opinion. What I will compliment is the mezcaladita though, I'm a sucker for tamarind. I overall wish I went elsewhere else, hopefully your experience will be better if you decide to go.

Sara E. Pérez-Figueroa

Google
The food is very good, with an aesthetic presentation, the place is very crowded, the space full of tables, the people who attend very friendly but at times is overwhelmed by the number of people. In general it is a good place to dine Japanese food.

Google
Went on a very busy Saturday night. We didn’t wait too long, and got our table after 10mins. Service is quick and friendly. As for the food, taste is just “ok” but not the best especially if you’ve been to Japan and have tried actual Japanese food. We couldnt really taste the crab in the Jaiba suave roll. Chico sashimi is decent, but expensive. Tendon special is worth it as it has a lot of things, but can make it crispier next time.

Rob Casimiro

Google
Very solid place with a strong menu and a good drink/beer selection. We had the pad Thai and Ramen and enjoyed both. The baby elotes appetizer was great as well. Dinner for two and two drinks each was very reasonably priced. Great area, nice open atmosphere and attentive service.

Google
I'm from Vancouver, so my sushi expectations are pretty darn high. I enjoyed everything except the laksa soup, it was pretty bland. I would eat here again though, the watermelon salad and tempura was so good. It would be nice to get served wasabi and ginger with our sushi though.

Jorge Juarez

Google
It was a fantastic place where the food gives you an unforgettable experience and it’s not expensive, however you have to be there early ‘cause it’s very popular and there are a lot of people. I tried the Thai’s food and Ramen I love it.

NK

Google
Food wasn’t exceptional or anything I would recommend but they are open until 12 which is nice. I had two rolls and they were just OK. The atmosphere is nice. Would be nice to have an English menu.

Yelp
Super extensive menu and cute indoor / outdoor seating. Dinner items were okay overall - would recommend the ramen and sushi.

Yelp
Not a bad place but nothing amazing. Pad Thai flavor wasn't very authentic, a bit more of a sour flavor. Some of the sushi rolls are pretty good. Udon was good, tempura was a bit greasy. Overall not bad! Staff is kind. Spacious with lots of seating (indoor-outdoor).

Yelp
I distinctly remember being taught about the Swiss Army knife in terms of an engineered product at engineering school.. It was used as an example of terrible engineering. It has everything; none of it any good. This is definitely not the case when it comes to Mog bistro. This place is absolutely an exception. I have tried their Japanese, and Vietnamese. Both were fantastic. On the Japanese side, I've tried the Gyoza, sushi, and some of the fried foods they have . On the Vietnamese side, I've tried the spring rolls, and the noodles. The gyoza was fantastic, the sushi was yummy, and the spring rolls were delicious. The noodles, were kind of close to quality to the ones I've had at Pho y #1 at the corner of capital and McKee. it is not a fair comparison, because even Vietnamese from Vietnam say that the pho at pho y #1 is pretty damn good and close to the best they have in Vietnam. I would love to try their Thai someday; but, what I've had deserves a pretty darn good review. If you want some, very good Asian food make sure you check this place out. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
After 3 days, I was ready for something different. A friend suggested MOG. They were jamming when we arrived and had to wait for a table... Which took no more than 10 minutes. We were so hungry and ended up ordering waaaaaay too much food, but it was well worth it! Sushi was extremely fresh, and they have an array of noodles including ramen, udon, pho, and even Thai Khao Soi. We also got the wagyu beef set and the meat just melted in our mouths. If you're looking for Japanese/Asian, this place did not disappoint!
google avatar

Sara Y.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. The sashimi tuna belly was exquisite. We had a whole fish, can't remember what it was called but it was great. Solid kao soi. My one reservation is that the menu is really big instead of being more focused. That being said, everything we ate was fantastic.

Yelp
Honestly, for Mexico, I was thoroughly impressed ! I am a true ramen lover at heart - and was not disappointed in coming here. While you may not be getting that rich and savory umami you're craving, if you're in desperate need for some Asian food while in taco Mecca, this is the place to satisfy that. Service is SO nice and FAST, which for sitting outside in the heat, is a necessity. It gets busy here, but worth the wait. It can be loud at night because of the business, but good place for some drinks and noods with friends during the week or on the weekend. The Shoyu ramen was salty (as it should be), piping hot, and the egg was yummy. Only complain is the chashu pork which was a bit bland and needed more charbroil for my personal liking. I also indulged in their tuna belly nigiri, spicy hamachi roll, and gyoza. Sushi was doable, would pass on the gyoza.

Yelp
Food-4 Ambiance-4 Service-4.5 Very lively and happening restaurant.. we came in after Lucha libre show and had our non Mexican food fix. I have had better Ramen( Tantamen) and dragon roll.. but somehow it hit the right spots. The pepper edamame was nicely charred, the gyoza was good. Just avoid the chicken skewers and the chicken rice.. it was bland and flavorless. Service was on point..

Yelp
Excellent ambiance and the sushi bar and fresh, high quality sushi. The pad Thai might be one the best I've ever had, and I've been to Thailand! Highly recommend. Fusion done right!

Yelp
This place is great. Love the ambience and the food was excellent. Will be back again! Pictured: shio ramen and tan tan men. Asahi Super Dry not pictured.

Yelp
MOG had some of the best sushi I have had in CDMX. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the future. I highly recommend the otoro sampler. However, their ramen was much to be desired for and is the only reason this restaurant is a 4/5.
google avatar

Kandis J.

Yelp
Can't seem to find good sushi AND ramen ON TOP OF all of your favorite Asian cuisines in Mexico City? Well stop the press and look no further. This over looked establishment is your one stop shop. Not to mention that the portions are large and will ensure that you leave fully and satisfied. The waiters are attentive and that's not common in Mexico let alone Latin America. Trust me go and savor every bite!

Yelp
My sister and I was looking for a restaurant in the area and stumbled across Mog. We were seated upstairs where they had a traditional Japanese setting with low tables and pillows to sit on. They also provided lockers to take your shoes off and set your belongings. The service was fast and very friendly. The sushi was delicious and their drinks were strong. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the Roma Norte area!

Yelp
This place is PACKED. At 4pm in a Thursday afternoon there's a line of about 15 people out the door. It's very popular. The menu is a fusion of Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese, but I had meant to look up a Taiwanese place and this one came up. The atmosphere is amazing, very busy, great seating arrangement. The service is also pretty good, and they try to get everything in an orderly fashion. I had some amazing food. Also, their plates are HUGE. So be ready to share with friends. I got a spicy cucumber salad, mapo tofu and the curry laksa. Epic food, epic vibes. I have been used to small plates and received some large platters of food. I would come again with groups of friends. They also cater to food allergies and did me a mapo tofu vegan and the curry laksa too. 5/5.

Yelp
This was such an incredible experience in CDMX! The ambiance is lively and bustling, but the upstairs is calm with some traditional chair-less tables (you leave your shoes in lockers). The menu is stunning in its breath to the point I was questioning how any one restaurant could possibly execute so many different dishes well, but everything we ordered was delicious. Within the massive variety were many vegetarian/vegan options and the server was quite adept at checking all ingredients with the chef. I HIGHLY recommend the kushikatsu (breaded and fried skewers, but a different texture from tempura), the edamame (very garlicky), and the veg ramen. In a city full of amazing food, this was definitely a standout!

Yelp
Great service! I sat at the community table and the ambience was really nice. Ramen was hot and flavorful...would go again!

Yelp
I had to come back and change this review to a 1 star because the 3 us who had the sushi/sashimi and fried tempura got sick and vomited / diarrhea all night. This place was lovely the first night we ate here we had the Tom yum appetizer portion and it was so well done- the flavors and spices galore. the lemongrass and ginger was so fragrant. And the soup was HOT in temperature which I loved. I'm finding that food is not served hot enough generally in Mexico City so this was a pleasant surprise! My mom had the green curry which she loved. The grilled sizzling tofu was also amazing. One the second day though- I'm not sure what happened. It wasn't quite the same pizzazz. We ordered the tom yum ramen thinking that it would taste like the tom yum appetizer and it was not as sour and more sweet and milky, which was not nearly as good as the first night. We ordered way too much food. The photos can appear smaller than the actual dish so you might over order. The fried vegetable skewers was not good and batter was way too dense. The tempura was much better. Sashimi fish was generally ok. Overall, we did enjoy the food but depending on what you order can be a hit or miss. The chocolate cake was tasty and I loved the dark chocolate notes- the texture was too dense though.

Yelp
Yes yes yes yes yes yes. Every single thing we got here was fantastic. It was, by far, the most expensive meal we ate in this city, but it would have been a bargain at twice the price. The chirashi bowl was especially plentiful, probably a good meal on it's own. The service was fast and friendly, and the space was a very nice indoor/outdoor setup. If you're looking for Asian fare (especially Japanese), please try Mog. A+.

Yelp
This is such a cute and random place. It's a mish mash of Japanese foods. I was a little hesitant of missing out on some good Mexican food by going to an Asian place, but we had a good time. There was even a secret room with a tiny door. People were being served. We never figured out what was going on in there. There's an upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs there regular sushi and stuff. Upstairs, they have the charcoal grilling apparatus. You have to take off your shoes and wear their given crocs. So I would recommend wearing socks. We had a random assortment of foods and drinks: cocktails, sushi, okonomiyaki, and some raw meats and veggies I grilled on the charcoal grill. I would skip the chicken. I think the kalbi was best. It had the most flavor. The veggies did not do so well on the grill.

Teresa B.

Yelp
I'm definitely Asian because after a few days in Mexico City I was craving Asian food. So glad I found this place through Yelp! This is such a cute fun place with a really great energy. They had live music when we dined there. The menu selection is diverse and expansive. We ordered the edamame preparado, the spicy salmon, and okonomiyaki . The dishes were larger than expected although the pho bowl seems a lot smaller than in America (which is not a bad thing). My spicy salmon roll was fresh and the edamame had a nice balance of spicy and salty.
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
Very cute and busy restaurant which not only offers sushi but also ramen and all kinds of different soups. We ate upstairs which is more traditional and you have to take your shoes off. One star off because the service was soooo slow. It took the 3 of us 2.5 hours to order/eat/pay which is a long time because we are fast eaters but our sole waiter upstairs was either overwhelmed or just not super efficient.
google avatar

Kassandra R.

Yelp
Everyone in my family ordered something from the many different menu items available and everything was absolutely delicious! The food came quickly too, our waiter was very attentive. Although the dining area is partially in the street so there's a lot of outside noise, it's rather nice to have the fresh air and lively ambiance. Overall loved it and will be coming back with friends!
google avatar

Lucy M.

Yelp
I live in NYC where there's great Asian food and the food at Mog is really not good. They try to do too much from Japanese to Vietnamese pho and none of it is great. I had a salmon salad, salmon roll, shrimp shu mai, and grilled chicken skewers and they were all just ok, nothing I'd recommend to anyone. The best part of the meal was the Maracaya juice drink.
google avatar

Eunjin P.

Yelp
Among the numerous Asian dishes they serve I found that Japanese food was very traditional.

Julia G.

Yelp
Super good. Definitely recommend this location for some good women and sushi rolls. The dragon and California roll were pretty fire. Good place good vibes only downtime is took quite a bit of time to get food, but they are quite a bit shorthanded. It looks like, however, good food.
google avatar

Kole L.

Yelp
Overall the experience was neutral. Food was ok for what you'd expect of asian food in CDMX, service was average. However, we felt extremely uncomfortable being coerced into tipping above what we initially requested. "propina?" and we gave our % but it wasn't high enough for the waiter. "'pero la propina es importante" until we went higher. Pics of food below

Yelp
Ramen was amazing, good portion and authentic flavor. A simple minimalistic ambiance.

Yelp
We are so glad we found this place in Mexico City! It is amazing. The atmosphere and service were spectacular. It is big and crowded. We got seated right away right by the sushi bar in the main level. We think the top level is for businesses. We noticed people in business suits carrying suitcases rushed upstairs. It is an Asian restaurant we saw about six other Asian people there, the rest were locals and European travelers. The menu is huge. We were surprised with the selection. There is ramen, pho (Vietnamese style), Thai food and other great dishes. We ordered two dishes of ramen, bun bao, asparagus with bacon, and creme brûlée de matcha. Honestly everything we tried were delicious. Tasteful. I highly recommend this place. Service was great, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes. Amazing drinks as well. We had Corozon de Leon. Price is definitely cheap. We spent $38 usd total. Yep.
google avatar

Summer C.

Yelp
Cheap prices, and amazing ramen, with lots of options to pick from. Good cocktails as well. The atmosphere is unique. Seems like a hole-in-the-wall type of place.

Yelp
Atrapa turistas!
google avatar

Cymone G.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Roma Norte! With a 25 page menu you can choose from a grand assortment of sushi, noodles, soups, dim-sun, rice dishes and more! The place is busy every night it's open so expect to wait about 15 minutes to be seated during dinner but lunch time is usually better. There's a lot of seating in the main area that's open-air and a smaller, enclosed upstairs area that's Japanese style seating on the floor with cushions. The cocktails are great and the noodle dishes have been my favorite! The sushi is also wonderful and you can even sit in front of the sushi bar and watch them prepare it.

Yelp
Had a great time with friends eating a ton of food here! Everything was delicious and our waiters were very patient
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed a great meal here one night in our vacation when he had a craving for Japanese flavors. The very large menu features all the Japanese favorites and a few surprise Mexican additions like elote. Service was amazing and friendly.
google avatar

Aaron B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and tons of options in the menu. Food was very good but did not blow me away.
google avatar

Brenda O.

Yelp
Amazing Asian food in all varieties. Sushi is very fresh. Mojitos and margaritas are perfect. Prices are reasonable.
google avatar

Fanny W.

Yelp
Quality sushi, affordable/moderate price tags, and the sushi bar chef is Japanese! Pros: + Toro platter + Low to moderate price tags + Located in a nice area, Roma~ + Appetizer given (bean sprouts with a little Mexican flare!) Cons: - Does not feel like a legit sushi place, but this is also Mexico and not Tokyo or the Bay Area Recommendations: + Toro Set, 260MXN: aburi toro, chutoro, otoro, negitoro + Aburi Set, 280MXN: torched salmon, hamachi, otoro, saba, and unagi One person in our party ordered the pho for 100MXN, which he liked and had no complaints. The sushi chef is the only Japanese there. Looks like he knows what he's doing! If you're big on quality sushi, go here!
google avatar

Alejandra V.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised to have such an amazing sushi experience in Mexico City! I'll admit -- my sister and I were a bit skeptical about trying out Japanese cuisine in the heart of Roma Norte, and pretty much in Mexico in general (especially coming from such great sushi in Seattle!), but this was one of the best sushi meals I've had in a while! I was surprised to see so many options on the menu, which included not only Japanese food and sushi, but Thai and Vietnamese style dishes as well. The cocktails were creative and tasty, and my sister was happily surprised to see sake was available as well. The ambiance and decor in Mog was excellent, my sister and I both enjoyed the open kitchen concept and were mesmerized watching the chefs prepare beautiful dishes in front of us. The service here was also very attentive, friendly, and helpful overall. We ordered: - Mojito Yamamba, hot sake, & Sapporo - Edamame preparado (garlic, bonito flakes, and deliciousness) - Spicy salmon roll - A variety of nigiri options The sushi was so absolutely flavorful, fresh, and just overall such a great foodie experience. My sister was SO pleasantly surprised to have had such a great sushi experience in Mexico, and was regretful that we hadn't given this place a chance sooner in her trip!

Yelp
MOG was a 10 out 10. They have a large selection of Ramen, rolls, sushi, and rice as well as other food and appetizers. Our favorite was edemame preparatory. It has such good flavor, we had to order another one. They also count with a variety of specialty drinks, beer, and non alcoholic beverages. You can sit indoor or outdoor. The location itself is not big but the outside seating makes it spacious. Your temperature is taken before seating down. All servers are wearing masks and the tables are cleaned/sanitized. They also offer dessert if you still have room.
google avatar

Margaret A.

Yelp
I just don't understand why this place has such high reviews. We're visiting from the US and were just too tired to go out to dinner after a full day of being out. We ordered 3 rolls, gyoza, and ramen. The ramen was ridiculously salty and the chashu had no flavor - how is that possible, lol. The rolls looked as if they were rolled by someone on their first day of work and just not good. All that for close to 1100 pesos or 50 + dollars. What a bummer.

JoAnne E.

Yelp
Wanna to try another Japanese place after we had a not so great experience last night. Mpg made up for it----delicious! We had the Mapo Tofu and the Kakuni Ramen and both were really really good! Service defintely is good.....we will be back!
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
We live in an area without too many Asian food choices so on our visit to CDMX we really wanted to try some Japanese food. We arrived at 8pm on a Wednesday night and the place was packed - there were no tabes left so we were seated at a large community table. The menu is quite extensive and due to COVID you have to load it onto your smartphone and was a bit difficult to navigate the 20+ pages. We ordered a few dishes - tofu, dumplings, and some sushi. The food and drinks were all pretty good although the portions are a little small, but the service was excellent. Somewhat expensive - $1550 pesos including tip
google avatar

Abby V.

Yelp
Was a last minute decision to go but the service and food was great! I enjoyed the nigiri and the desserts!

Elisa M.

Yelp

Yelp
MOG Bistro is the epitome of Mexico City's hipster gastro-eateries! Recently opened and serving trend-setting varieties of Asian soup noodles (ramen, udon, pho), sushi, rice bowls and elegant Mexican-Japanese Sumibi (charcoal) grilled skewers, this place is a bit off the beaten track in Cuauhtémoc - Roma Norte, but well worth the Uber fare. We arrived following a rainstorm and sat "outside" near the sidewalk. With the entire front of the restaurant open to the street, with canvas roll-ups that were were rolled down for warmth this night, it was a casual, relaxing, candle-lit ambience. Luckily the menu had photos. None of us knew how to read Spanish or Japanese, so we guessed at a number of the skewers. Huge tip: The Sumibi Moriawase, brochetas al carbón, assortment is basically all innards, as in gizzards, livers, etc. Not my cup of tea. However, the Edamame Preparado, with garlic and bonito fish/soya sauce, was the best edamame I've ever eaten! So tasty! Spicy Hamachidon was a beautiful bowl of hamachi sashimi, avocado, rice and masago. The Karaage Ramen was a real treat, as I was originally craving fried chicken for dinner! This was the first time I've ever had fried chicken in noodle soup. Amazing idea! Our waiter was super friendly and helpful with the menu and wine selection. He made us feel as comfortable as friends and really made our MOG Bistro dinner five stars.

Yelp
The environment is amazing and relax. However, the food from an Asian point of view, it losses the essence of the taste. General speaking, they offer mediore food.
google avatar

Reggie M.

Yelp
After stuffing ourselves with sumptuous Mexican dishes for a couple of days, we decided to go back to our roots (Asian food, that is). Fortunately, Mexico City is not only rich with their cultural heritage but also fabulous with its diverse cuisine selections. Mog Bistro is a Mexican inspired Japanese cuisine, the menu has Izakaya, soba, ramen and other traditional Japanese dishes with a twist. I was blown away with their take on spicy edamame, my spicy salmon don with fresh avocado is simply epicurean. Our dinner was accompanied with a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio. The staff are amazing and made our dinner with them really memorable. Make this place a must if you happen to be in a beautiful city of Mexico.
google avatar

Eli N.

Yelp
Exceptional. This place gave us the best lasting impression of CDMX. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the ambiance was excellent, and everything about this place was excellent. Their menu is literally a book but it's packed with nothing but excellent menu items. You will want everything on the menu. The drink list is also packed. Ask for Ricardo to wait on you and you will not be disappointed. The whole wait staff was great as well. Enjoy!!!!!!!! Check out the pics!

Yelp
I'd give this place 5 stars if it weren't for the overly salty soup they serve. First visit I ordered ramen and it was so salty almost inedible. Today I tried the udon and again it was too salty. When I told the waiter he took it and brought back the same bowl. Maybe they just added water? Who knows? I kinda lost appetite so I paid and left. I give 3 stars because the nigiri and pretty much everything else were VERY delicious. The lychee ice cream too. I would come back with friends, but I'd suggest to stay away from the soup.

Víctor C.

Yelp
Very good restaurant!, I spent such a good environment with my family, I'll definitely try it again.

Yelp
After a 2.5 hr flight we found Mog on Yelp with great reviews. Great atmosphere! Food is very good. Fast service and clean restaurant.
