The Best Food at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) | Eater New Orleans

"A well-stocked market that doubles as more than a grab-and-go spot: a must-visit for a Central Grocery muffuletta as a perfect last taste of New Orleans. The famed French Quarter shop stocks whole and half muffulettas here daily, sold alongside beloved Coast Roast coffee. (Outside Concourse B)" - Clair Lorell

YALL. This is where you go if you need a coffee and a croissant. Everyone’s over waiting at Starbucks. They don’t know! This place has waaaay better croissants and breads that aren’t wrapped in plastic and sadness. Plus they have a full grab and go market that’s shockingly dialed in for an airport location. VERY happy with this experience. Go local!

One of those rare airport spots that has healthy-ish items instead of the same exact junk seen at every store at every airport. This one is worth a stop for booze, coffee or better-for-you snacks.

This place was awesome when the airport opened. Had great coffee/ espresso and amazing selection of food and drinks. In the last year it has become shameful. All of the previous workers, who could make espresso properly, either quit or were replaced by workers whose sole purpose is to sit behind the counter. Ordered a cortado… which is one of the six things you can order on menu… and was told they didn’t know how to make it??? Another worker said she could and the result was a bitter mess. This place apparently is associated with CR Coffee which is shameful as their brick and mortar locations are some of the best coffee in the city. Please hire someone that can make the coffee properly or don’t offer options that can’t be made. Otherwise I am happy to take the $2000+ espresso machine off your hands for my own use.

There were two employees working this Sunday morning June 16, 2024. The male employee was delightful and kind. He was the only one working. The female employee was rude, harsh, rolled her eyes at me multiple times as I asked her questions. She treated me horribly, she made me feel terrible. This was my first trip to New Orleans ever. The city was lovely with super nice folks until my flight home that Sunday morning. This female employee ruined the streak of kind employees throughout this lively city. Shame on this company for ripping me off. Don't buy the Taste of New Orleans. It's $20 and this establishment will rip you off. That female employee left my food in the back of the restaurant so long I almost missed my flight. Then she only put one spoonful of food in each container. She should be repremanded or let go. I will never return to this overpriced nightmare of a store.

I came the afternoon of Friday, September 13th for coffee. As a native Louisiana citizen, I went out of my way to go to CR coffee bc I LOVE them. I rang the bell since there wasn’t a staff at the register. She had the NASTIEST attitude. I said “Hey I was wondering if I could order coffee?” She looked at me as if I was stupid and said “what coffee?” with the snarkiest attitude. I stood there, staring at her baffled, genuinely wondering what I said or did that made her react to me that way. I NEVER write bad reviews but she was horrible. I didn’t even end up getting coffee because they ran out of cold foam … Pretty sure it’s THREE ingredients and takes 60 seconds max to make.

Bought some croissants here and chocolate muffins. Not cheap with croissants $4.50 each and muffins $3.50 each. Do yourself a favour and don't buy from here. The food was hard and dry and virtually inedible despite looking really nice. Absolute rubbish and hard to break up to even feed the birds with.

Did not have coffee or market food so cannot comment on that, but they have an assortment of cold canned beer, cider, and seltzers for prices much cheaper than any bar in the airport. Snagged a $5 IPA that was delicious.

The cashier was VERY RUDE.. caught a flight from New Orleans at 8:30pm on Thursday September 28, 2023. Cashier purposely threw my products into bag and was on her cell phone when I approached the counter ignoring my presence for 5 minutes without acknowledging I was standing there. Sandwiches were good but the service was not pleasant at all.

Yelp
I was so sad I didn't leave Nola with a muffuletta from central grocery store but a quick Yelp search told me there was still hope if I go to the moisant market, located right in front of concourse B next to the cafe du monde stall, I can find it in the deli section. It's a little over $17 but I was so happy to have it for my last meal in NOLA and come to think of it I'm glad I didn't buy it at the French quarter because I would have had to lug it around for hours before getting to the airport. This was nice and refrigerated and I could tuck it perfectly inside my backpack carry on. Carry on!

Yelp
Moisant Market gets the free 1-star rating but I wouldn't be so generous. 1. They have a telephone number but it doesn't work. I wanted to call before my arrival at the NOLA airport to confirm whether they had any Central Market muffulettas on hand. 2. I arrived and stopped in. The young person working behind the counter said that they were out but I should try the restaurant next door. There is no restaurant next door. I doubled back to clarify what she said. She repeated, "The restaurant next door." There is no restaurant next door.

Yelp
Per the young man at the counter they no longer sell the muffuletta sandwiches. I totally did not buy one to bring home based on their page, and the web page of Central Grocery stating they were sold at this location.

Yelp
I was overcharged for a muffuletta sandwich. It came to just over $13. I gave them a $100 bill and they only gave me $80.50 back. I didn't count it until I was at my gate. So my bad.
