Mojito Latin Soul Food

We stopped here to get a quick bit of food, wanted a little flavor and atmosphere. I miss the bright wall murals but still love the vibe. It's a carefree and welcoming feel with good food. The Cuban sandwich is our go to the we try an appetizer and another meal. We need to just spend a day out back and snack on appetizers for an hour :)

Stopped in Saturday night for dinner after a quick google search of restaurants in the area. Normally I will not go to a restaurant close to their closing time but we arrived at 8:42pm and were immediately seated. We were the only party indoors but there were a few on the patio. Our sever Margaret greeted us a few minutes later and we put in our appetizer orders. Margaret was patient with us and alll of the food came out quickly so I appreciated that. There was a bit of a lull on our drink refills but again the restaurant was getting closer to closing. Since we were traveling we did ask for to go items and sauces and Margaret grabbed us everything we needed. My fiancé cannot stop talking about the food. Everything was delicious. I loved the special empanada and the pickled veggies it came with just set it off. The masitas (pork chunks) were fried to perfection but the meat was sooo tender. My fiancé had the whole portion vaca frita bowl. Everything complimented each other well. I ordered the 1/2 fried chicken for my entree so we could share and the portion was plentiful. The chicken was cooked perfectly and fried well….and the flavor was 10/10. I didn’t even need hot sauce. This was my first time having congri and I was skeptical at first based on the appearance but it didn’t disappoint . All of the leftovers heated up well the next day too. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll definitely return and I’ll be sure to recommend to others!

Had an amazing experience at Mojito Latin Soul Food! I ordered the Cuban Deluxe, and it was absolutely delicious, savory, full of flavor, and perfectly put together. The side of fried yuca was the perfect match, definitely a must-try. The croquettes were another highlight—crispy and flavorful, just the right bite. The service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing. They gave us the space to enjoy our meal, but were always there when we needed something. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

First time trying Latin soul food and I will say it was so flavorful & delicious! The restaurant has a very neat & airy atmosphere, they also offer outside sitting. I got to try their half shredded chicken bowl + the whole chicken bowl with yellow rice. Absolutely loved it! I wish our serving experience could of been better—wait time was almost 30-35 minutes after ordering (it was a slow day mind you) our service came to our table twice to take our food and bring it and we never saw him again after that which took from my experience as I had to ask another server for napkins + sauces + refills.

My wife and I were looking for someplace for lunch and after a brief search on Google, we decided to give Mojito Latin Soul Food a try. We were seated promptly and our server showed up immediately to take our drink order. I ended up ordering the Authentic Cuban Sandwich with Tostones as my side and my wife ordered the Mojito Grilled Chicken with Yellow Rice as her side. The food took about 20 minutes to hit the table but it was hot and delicious. I mention this not as a critique, just to inform. Overall, our experience at Mojito Latin Soul Food was a positive one. The food was great, the staff attentive and helpful without overdoing it and the prices reasonable. We will return.

I liked the decor and the art on the walls. The food was quite good! However, service was slooooow. It took forever to be greeted with waters. Then, it took a long time for our mojitos to come out. It also took an incredible period of time to get our food. The atmosphere was very loud and difficult to hear at times. My girlfriend's portions were small. The food itself tasted good! I wish they hired more staff here

Ate at Mojitos with my family tonight and it was fabulous! We shared several small plates, including the popped pork rinds, street corn, beef empanada and pork tamale and all were wonderful! My personal favorite was the pork tamale. All 3 of my kids ate ALL of their bowls, which is saying a lot for kids:) My husband and I shared a bowl with pork and the fish tacos and couldn’t decide which we liked more. The patio seating was fabulous and so nice that they took reservations! It will be a new go to family spot for us!

Located in downtown WS, this place is really hip from the moment you walk in. Staff is friendly and stay on point at all times. It is very laid back. Their specials are always very attractive and usually pretty good. Today we got the Appetizer special, Jerk Chicken & Pineapple Empanada with ginger lime slaw and a jerk & molasses slaw. Unfortunately it was not good at all. It was bland and had no kick or “Jerk” flavor at all, the slaw was also bland and the sauce. It sounded good but was a big disappointment. The steak sandwich was on point as usual with a side of yuca fries that I can dip and eat all day. The pork chunk bowl was good, though the rice and beans were not as tasty as they usually are. Overall I still love this place and am always willing to try their specials. Their cocktails look and sound amazing, I don’t drink so I take others words for it. Stop in and try for yourself, even though today was not as good, I am a regular and am almost never disappointed.

Ok soooo.. I love Latin food. It's rare I don't order a Cuban sandwich. However, the menu at Mojito had so many other options that steered me to try something else. (Maybe someone else at my table got a Cuban I took a bite of). The specials were ford Brussel sprouts, and an empanada special. The star of the meal was the tamale- I'm sure they serve these in heaven. One of the best I've ever had. We sat outside , it was beautiful. Service was good- a little busy so made a few errors and a little slow- but nothing major at all. We will be back!

This is for a visit 27 SEP 1800-1945... There are experiences in life that have a value greater than the meal, or the service, or the decor, of the food itself. I have to think about this visit to Mojitos in that vain. We were in town, for a trip to visit my son, and attend the WKU vs. Lousiana football game. My wife and I both spent time in Germany. If you have ever been there, then you are familiar with the long leisurely occupation of a table for a meal and kinship with people you want to spend time with. That is what we experienced, a good time overall, a great night with young people I am proud to know. I say all that because we sat and had a great time for about an hour between ordering and actually getting meals. When we did finally get food, it was well executed. There was no one unhappy with their dish, we had bowls, sandwiches, chicken and everything was good. I would enjoy coming back and trying other things, getting it hot and on time. Whatever small defects in the meals were a function of either sitting abandoned with the expediter or quickly thrown together without the usual care. Our server was pleasant and efficient. She did do a little disappearing act during the lull, but who wouldn't. For six adults, an appetizer (which I would offer could be skipped- street corn?- it was basically cream cheese with a few corn kernels and chips) , entrees, drinks and tip at around $200, it is reasonable for current economic climate. I want to mention the outdoor patio. I don't require that the decor of inside be reflected outside. I actually don't think many places other than chains do that well at this. However, a few wooden tables and benches on a patio that came with the old converted building is not cohesive to the rest of the establishment. I had no sense at all that I was at a Cuban restaurant. If we were in the area again, would likely come back and try some things. I think we wouldn't come back on a Friday night before a big local football game on family weekend. I am willing to give Mojito's that out. They got in the weeds, did a better job with every table but ours. We still had a good time, and a new memory of time spent with good people.

We came here on a Monday for dinner about an hour and a half before closing and it was good considering that. We ordered the chicken tamales, a pork bowl and a fish bowl. The ambiance is sparse and divey with a nice outdoor courtyard area. The service was prompt, courteous, and attentive but not overbearing. The tamales were really cold, hard and dry on the inside like they'd been sitting. The chicken on top was flavorful but the overall dish was a real disappointment. I am a big believer in 86ing things when they don't meet the quality standards of the restaurant. This was a case where that should've happened to prevent a bad dish leaving the kitchen especially on the first course. I got the pork bowl with tostones instead of maduros. The pork was served warm and was flavorful and the beans were great I avoided the rice and opted for the tostones as my carb and they were nice and hot but needed a dash of garlic powder or Adobo to wake up the flavor. Ultimately a decently solid meal especially considering they were near closing. Overall I'd like to come back a littler earlier and sit outside to get the full experience.

Coming from Miami, I am always searching for Cuban food, unfortunately there are not many options in town but I was stoked to find this place! The food is really tasty, the only complain I have is that everything is over salted, which after a few bites becomes too overwhelming. If they didn't go so heavy on the salt I'd give this place a 5 stars but it's definitely overboard. I recommend getring the yucca cheesy fries and their sweet plantains are delicious. They also have a great mojito apilo for everything. I also got their CBD peach guava coconut mojito and I don't recommend that, it wasn't good. The service is great; the atmosphere is good.

Still a favorite spot of mine. The food is always delicious and the food comes out shockingly fast. This time in I got the crispy shredded beef and it did not disappoint. I love how the bowl comes with plantains and when I add a side of yucca fries I get all the goodies.

If you like Latin food, this is the place to get the real thing. From appetizers, sandwiches, sides and drinks they represent Latin food. We started with the street corn appetizer and enjoyed a Cuban sandwich with Maduros. Of course I had to get a Mojito, but they have a selection of craft beers too. The outside dining area is covered which is nice during a hot day. You can also get complimentary parking which can be a challenge in the downtown area. There is nice indoor dining area too. Service was quick and food hot.

Suggested by friends that are now locals. Cool vibes. Great staff...very friendly & helpful. Unique menu items with great offerings. Very pleased with my meal. Prices very reasonable for portions. My friends come frequently and like the spot for lunch. Perfect spot to sit outdoors...very open & shaded. Convenient location to parking. Would come again!

Vegetarian approved! I struggle to find places that have good, crave-able options. A lot of places have a choice and it's fine. Not Mojitos. First, I'm missing photos of cheesy yucca balls and my Moweedto. They were too good. I was under a bit of stress so got a D8 or 9 infused drink: A+. Always a nice chilly haze and the stress melts away. I also don't drink, so a cocktail that is alcohol free is always great news. The yucca balls? Omg: fried starchy goodness with cheese inside, topped with some bright cheese and mojito sauce (yes, they have it by the pint) mixed with a Mayo base. Soooooo good. The sandwich. Cubans are amazing. That's my first point. As a missed of Cuban sandwiches, the Kasey is a great supplement: focusing on the flavors with plantain, cheese, and mojito sauce, the bread is smooshed perfectly! And, it's not the only vegetarian option!

This was our first stop for dinner in Winston Salem, the decor is fun, service was great, and food was too! We especially enjoyed the street corn dip, the Cuban sandwiches, and thought all the sauces should be bottled up and sold! With happy hour specials and a good size patio, the only thing that disappointed is how quiet it was on a Thursday afternoon. We hope this place is buzzin' next time we visit!

Nothing special on the inside, but the food is amazing! I love cultural food with large bursts of flavor. My good friend and I decided to stop by here before a concert. I was very impressed. Food I tried: masitas (fried pork chunks), grilled mojito chicken, yucca fries, sweet plantains. Pros - everything tasted fresh and extremely flavorful - chicken cooked to perfection - all of their sauces are magnificent - variety of mojito drinks to choose from - prices are decent - the star of the show are their sweet plantains. They are the best I've ever had! Cons - the fried pork chunks had a lot of fat. Some pieces only had fat and no meat. Very rich for an appetizer.. you can't eat much. Would not get these again.

Flavorful shredded chicken bowl; fast service. The chicken was a little tangy, and the black beans were salty, so a nice counterpoint to the small plantain provided. I found myself wishing for a bit more texture, something crispy or crunchy in the bowl, as the beans and white rice were (appropriately) soft. The full size portion is a good meal, not huge. The cocktails are set and can't be changed or tailored. They're on the light side, which is good for a hot summer day, but overpriced at $11.

We have been to this restaurant many times for easy take out while drinking at neighboring Fiddlin Fish. It is wonderful. The food is Latin, NOT Mexican. It has unusual flavors and just a touch of heat. We love the atmosphere and the wait staff are wonderful, too. The owners are former food truckers who's truck was so popular they opened this brink and mortar. The staff has always been friendly and warm. We especially like the "infamous" flan for dessert. It is like a thick cheesecake. The plantains with most dishes are unique and absolutely fabulous. The small plates that are our favorites are the arepas stuffed with cheese, empanadas, and the tamales. Yum! Our favorite entrees are the rice bowls, various Cubans, and tacos. There is street parking. They take credit cards and take out is a breeze paying online . Excellent choice for different food.

Great experience a mojito. Came in for quick bite and loved the authentic Cuban bread, cheese yucca, and queso frito (menu special). Wonderful experience all and all. Staff was very helpful making recommendations. One star off because the floors were beyond slippery and the bathroom was dreadful in many ways.

We eat here quite a lot. The sandwiches are delicious and the tamales are my wife's favorite. I'm not from Cuba or Florida or someplace that is famous for Cuban sandwiches but I like Mojito's sandwiches and I don't care if you think less of me for it.

This beautiful Latin restaurant is covered in artwork and cultural aspects that make it so original. They have a large beautiful patio outside that is perfect for warmer weather. I have been several times, including birthday events or just a stop in to grab some of their delicious cafe con Leche to go. They have traditional recipes and some modern food and the staff is always friendly and quick. Their mojitos are fun, bright, and delicious. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about this place.

Mojito, I love you! Nestled in downtown Winston salem is Mojito which is a cozy Latin restaurant slanging delicious street food packed with flavor. Mojito is such a unique spot with tons of options. Their service is always great and you can get in and out fairly quickly so it's great if you're in a hurry or want to sit back and enjoy a few mojitos. We started with the street corn and French dip empanada. The corn was charred and topped with Mayo, crema, and herbs - YUM! The empanada was a special but it was loaded with shredded beef, carmelized onions and came with a homemade au jus for dipping. For our entrees we got the Cuban, steak sandwich, and quarter chicken with yucca fries. Everything was well executed and the portions were great! Can't wait to go back to try their ceviche!

There food is bland and no hint of flavors. The decor is absolutely amazing. Even though the food is horrible the watermelon soda is absolutely delicious. I need to find this brand because I will go back just for the soda.

Absolutely love mojito. They always have a unique empanada on special and they are always tasty! The sweet plantains are amazing and the cilantro cream sauce they come with is a perfect pairing. The worst part is having to pick between one of their delicious bowls or the Cuban sandwich!

Soooo....again my wife and I were traipsing about investigating restaurants during resultant week and came upon this place from the list of participating restaurants. Never heard of it....let try it. The first thing that caught my attention was the gorgeous Cuban artwork on the wall. I'm a cigar lover so picture of wonderful Cuban grandma's with cigars is awesome!! I wish I could say the same for the food. It just wasn't that good. I couldn't understand the concept they were going for with the Latin Soul Food motif. Maybe is was considered Cuban soul food, but wasn't executed well. First of all it's October...they had the AC blasting like was August! Luckily we had on hoodies and hooded up! The waitress was nice and knowledgeable of the menu. She suggested the Chicken & Yellow Rice (Arroz Con Pollo) so we figured, hell she would know what good, let's go for it! Well....it could have been better. It came in a bowl with a bed yellow rice, shredded chicken, a bone in chicken breast on top with marinated onions and sweet plantains.. Now we all know cooking chicken breast is an art form lest ye end up with shoe leather. Unfortunately their cooks were not initiated into the sacred art of chicken breast cooking because instead of moist, tender chicken breast...we got the shoe leather. It was ungodly overcooked, tough and tasteless. The rice was also over cooked and mushy. They have really good reviews so I will chalk this one up as just a bad night. I can say however the plantains were perfect and the hands down best thing we had was the watermelon soda! OMG it was good! Maybe we will come back and try again on a different day.

We came with a bigger party and overall were happy with our experience. Food was great and good portions! Only negative was that we got a special mojito. Although the flavor was great, it was WAY too sweet. Because of their name, the mojito should've been perfect but the food was so good we can forgive it lol. And we did have to wait awhile for our waitress even though we came when the restaurant was empty. However, we will definitely return!

The food was delicious! The vegan option was great, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. We had an appetizer with pineapple, cantaloupe, and tajin that was so great!

One of my favorite spots in Winston -- Great cuban sandwich, cheesy yucca bites, and Latin grilled cheese. Great atmosphere too! Sometimes I buy fresh local eggs here when given the opportunity - not sure if this was a temporary or seasonal opportunity. The waitstaff has always been kind and prompt. I am always forgetting they are closed on Wednesdays - I have tried to visit twice then lol.

I highly recommend Mojito! Their food and service are both great. It's nice to have a place in town that serves Latin and Caribbean inspired food.

I've had this place on my list to try for a while when I'm back in WS visiting family. The outdoor seating was great, especially on a nice night. I ordered the "authentic cuban sandwich". The ingredients seemed to be quality but I was really thrown off by the ratio of the toppings. It had a ton of mayo (which isn't listed on the menu description), a tiny bit of mustard, and just a couple of pickles. It wasn't like any cuban I'd had before and was just a bit odd. I feel like the point of the mustard and the pickles is to balance out the pork and cheese but this was quite rich and a bit disappointing. The service was also pretty slow, with the server never coming back to check on us or refill our drinks. Meanwhile, the credit card receipt had check boxes with the options for tips - 20, 25, and 30%! I would consider going back to try some of the other menu items like the roast chicken.

Couldn't get any better. Ever time I come, I never leave disappointed. Food is great, service is friendly, and the overall ambiance is fun and comfortable.

The food was delicious, definitely authentic Cuban dishes! I will recommend this place to my friends. Our waiter Jamal was great and super friendly, and we'll be returning for sure!

My family and I have been here several times and have now complaints!!! My two year old and six year old felt the same and proceeded to eat all their food which never happens.

Delicious food, beautiful outdoor seating. The portions are a good size. Some of their signature dishes have half and whole portions sizes. If you want a whole portion of an entree you are looking at prices ranging from ~$15 - $23 as of July 2023. The outdoor seating is a must, and the restaurant validates parking via a QR code. The code is located by the front door and at the table. This place is definitely worth a try!

We have been wanting to try out Mojito for a while and today we were able to come here. I got the Cuban Sandwich and the sweet plantains while my wife got the chicken tacos and yucca fries. There was a decent portion of the plantains but not the fries. The sandwich itself was pretty good with tender, flavorful meats and the bread was also soft. Overall a good experience and we would try other dishes when (if)) we come back.

My friend had the Deluxe Cuban sandwich and although while he was eating it, he said it was the best Cuban sandwich he'd ever eaten, later he rated it 7.5 out of 10. His french fries were tasty (they add a little somethin' besides salt & pepper...cumin?), but they were too salty. Next time we'll ask for light seasoning. I had the chicken sandwich, and although the flavor was on pointe, with the sauce and a breading and the SO JUICY chicken, I was expecting more crunch with the breading. After a couple of bites, the sandwich turned to mush, so next time I'll likely order the sauce on the side. Really delicious overall. I had rice and beans on the side and was surprised by the delicate sweetness in the beans (you're going to need to add some kind of hot sauce, if you like your beans more savory). But we loved them. The rice had a delightfully sticky texture. I asked for the hottest sauce they had, and man, did they deliver! One of the staff said it was a blend of 8 different peppers. This one doesn't sneak up on you, folks. It hits you SMACK in the face at first bite. One of the servers noticed my distress and graciously brought me a small glass of juice to quell the fire in my mouth. So sweet of him! It's definitely very hot BUT also has a delicious flavor. I brought some home with me to add (SPARINGLY) to my next batch of homemade chili. Our waitress was welcoming and attentive and so were all of the other staff we encountered. They're dog friendly as well, so that's always a plus for me. We'll be back!

My husband & I stopped in late afternoon on a weekend. We loved the funky atmosphere. Service was fantastic, the waitstaff was nice, had good drink recommendations. The food came out at a normal pace & it was delicious. Truly, very good latin food. I don't know that I could pick out just one thing as my favorite....all were fantastic. Highly recommend you give it a try. The front door is hard to open...pull hard, it's not closed!

This place may not be much to look at, but it has the best tasting, authentic Cuban food I've had outside of Miami (FL). It wasn't very busy on a Monday night, so we were able to pick our seats. It's a fairly sparse looking place inside, other than the front dining room, which they weren't using. Service was prompt throughout the night. They have a small bar, small selection of draught beers, and they make cocktails. Despite that, we chose water. I had the Masitas, fried pork chunks on a bed of black beans and white rice. They also put some of their own house blended mojito sauce on it. And it came with two sweet fried bananas. The other option I liked, is that you can order a half-size, which I thought was the perfect single single-serving. OMG! A flavor explosion. I hadn't had this meal since we moved from Miami over 12 years ago. It brought back all those wonderful food memories. I could bathe in that bowl! Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) I would recommend this restaurant for a bit of food diversity in North Carolina.

Everything on the menu is a hit if I'm being honest and everything is made in house including the tortillas, they use for their Og fish tacos. My favorite appetizers to order are the yucca bites and the pork arepa the chicken here is great as well, but I come for the lechon that is very well seasoned and perfectly cooked the empanadas are also great and with a hefty amount of protein. I will say The Cuban sandwiches are great here, but I personally love the steak sandwich and the steak is always cooked to perfection my other go to entree is the Vaca Frita bowl that comes with rice and beans and plantains on the side, and you can't forget the mojito sauce that just ties everything together you also have the option get a whole bowl or a half bowl which is great. I will say sometimes if I'm looking to eat a little more, I will definitely go for the Mojito Fried Chicken that is perfectly complimented by that mojito sauce once again and comes with side dishes. The cocktails here are pretty decent nothing special in my opinion but the lavender mojito is pretty good they do carry a lot of local beers on tap my personal favorite thing to drink here is definitely the Jupina which is a pineapple Cuban soda that is very delicious. The service here is always great the servers here are very attentive and helpful and go out of their way to try to accommodate you and whom I believe to be the manager Jamal is even more attentive always making sure our table is okay and we are happy with our service. this restaurant has plenty of seating from indoor to the bar to patio seating this is a great place to come for lunch or dinner with friends or even on a date. The parking here is not to bad due to them having the QR codes that you can scan on your phone and enter your vehicle information I will definitely continue to keep visiting this place.

We decided on a late dinner and took a drive to Winston-Salem to give Mojito a try. The menu looks great as well as pictures I've seen, so I was excited to make the hard decision on what to order. We arrived at 8:45 and was sat as soon as the closest table was cleaned off. Appetizer arrived at 9:08. Entrees arrived at 9:18. Most Latin restaurants that offer Cuban toast as an appetizer comes out as an 8" loaf sliced in half, buttered and toasted. To say the least we were a bit underwhelmed to get the 5 little pieces of toast. I wondered where the rest of it was!! Next the entrees - I chose the grilled Mojito chicken, which comes with one side; I opted for black beans and rice. The smell of the grilled seared chicken was mouth-watering!! The taste of the mojito sauce complimented the chicken perfectly. The cilantro lime cream sauce was just okay. The black beans tasted like they were very authentic in flavor. The rice were perfect. Hubby selected the buttermilk fried mojito chicken with one side; he opted for tostones. The chicken tasted as crispy as it looked. The tostones didn't appear to be freshly cooked because they weren't crispy. There were on the chewy side and barely warm. That was disappointing to a Latin patron. The chicken also had an extremely good flavor of the mojito sauce-like it was marinated in it before dunked in the buttermilk. DELICIOUS. My husband requested a cafe con leche at the end of our meal, after I noticed our waiter coming back in from the side door. He went to put in the order and came back to apologize that they already broke down the espresso machine. I have two issues with this-1) It wasn't closing time! Close, but still has 15 min (I noticed the time when two more people walked in and were seated). 2) would his request been granted if our waiter was inside checking to see if we needed anything BEFORE the kitchen started breaking throngs down and before going out for a smoking break(that's the smell he came to the table with after coming back in, not washing hands, and bringing the water pitcher to the table) [YES - I see too many things sometimes]. I informed him the grilled chicken wasn't cooked thoroughly and he said okay. Did he tell kitchen manager? Did he tell restaurant manager? We have no clue because no one came over to apologize & neither did the waiter! He just brought the bill, fully priced. With all said and done, the meal tasted delicious. A few tweaks are needed. It was a little chilly inside with the door opening and closing as others came in and out; not much heat blowing on this chilly night. I'm not sure how big the other side of the restaurant is. Would we return again....we'll see.

Service is okay. Polite but just a-little slow when seating. The pink lemonade mojito is "perfecto". Atmosphere filled with Cuban music and yes they do speak English. Tried the authentic Cuban sandwich along with the Shredded chicken-bowl. First time trying authentic Cuban's food. The side of black beans and rice was hot & very good. Food hot and waterier was professional & polite, but not attentive. Now they are pricey but it's worth it. Mixed patronage's in the restaurant on a Saturday night.

Delicious latin food place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (which is great as the weather gets warmer). They have a pretty extensive menu and their customer service is always great. Our waiter (I believe his name was Lazarus? Don't recall) was so kind and very attentive, filled our waters immediately and brought extra napkins without us needing to ask. He was always one step ahead of our needs! I ordered the Cuban deluxe sandwich and a side of Yucca fries and my friend ordered the full shredded chicken bowl. The cuban deluxe sandwich was delicious and around ~$13.50 but unfortunately much too salty for my liking due to the ham and cheese. The yucca fries were DELICIOUS: well seasoned, crispy and crunchy exterior and warm fluffy inside and a delicious dipping sauce. Only downside is that the serving size was very small, almost $1 per fry ($5 for the entire side). My partner has brought back their chicken and fried plantains which were also delicious on another occasion. Parking can be a huge struggle since it is downtown, but there are two parking lots nearby and plenty of street parking so not as difficult was other locations in downtown. Excited to come back and give them another chance.

Very cool place. Parking was a little confusing but we figured it out. They had specials on a board outside and we tried 2 of them. The The Appalachian Areda was really good. It was pulled pork with pimento cheese on a corn cake, it was plenty for a whole meal. My sister had the empanada and it was really small. It was good just small. The red beans and rice they ordered was really good too. Our server, Jamal, was amazing. He was very patient in explained several of the dishes to us. The service was really fast too. We had a great time here. We thought about getting mojitos but after reading the reviews we decided not to.

The food and service by Jamal was outstanding. This is our first time having Latin Soul Food and will definitely return.

From the street corn to the Cuban sandwich to the fries and lime ketchup EVERYTHING was a hit. It's great to see this space being used so well. I'm really excited to get back and try some more of the menu options. I'll start where we started on the food...the street corn appetizer. Wow. The flavors! Every bite offered so many great flavors (including the actual corn). I'm a huge Cuban sammich fan and this is one of my favorites in the state now. My big takeaway that separated this was while the bread was great, it wasn't too bready like a lot of Cubans. The meats and sauces really show up in this sandwich. The fries were great and crispy and I loved the lime ketchup.

After enjoying a matinee of one of my favorite musicals at Camel City Playhouse in Winston Salem. My friend suggested we go to this Latin soul food joint around the corner. The first thing I noticed is that on Sunday's they close at 6pm ,which seems like an odd time. But the joint was jumping so guess they have locked the lunch/early dinner crowd. You got a whiff of amazing smells right away. Ordered a Mojito to start as it is the signature cocktail. It was a little sweet for my liking, but they tend to be a more sugary drink. We got an order of the Seasoned fries to share, based on my friends recommendation, which are tossed in their house seasoning and served with chipotle lime ketchup. I am not usually a shoestring fry fan, but with the special seasoning and that unique ketchup, I ate these up. We also enjoyed one Arepa, which is like a Latin grilled cheese, consisting of corn meal Patties covered in melted cheese and topped with mojito and cilantro lime cream sauce. It was a side item so a little small for four to share, but I enjoyed the bite I got. You are going to what a reoccurring theme of me saying o love their mojito and cilantro lime cream sauce. My friends recommended getting a mojito bowl, so that's what I did. You can get a half or a whole size. The half would of been plenty but I went for the whole as to ensure leftovers. I picked the Shredded pork bowl which came with white rice, black beans, marinated onion, mojito sauce, cilantro lime cream sauce, and sweet plantains. Man it was so flavorful and filling. I honestly didn't eat again that day as I was still full hours later. The pork was tender and the marinade on it delicious. Did I mention that I the loved both the mojito and lime cream sauce? It was honestly all great. I am not usually a plantain fan, but theirs was tasty. They were nice and warm, with a little texture on the outside, but soft on the inside. Highly recommend a bowl of you go! One of my friends ordered from the Big thangs area of the menu with the 1/2 Chicken Cuban style which was marinated and grilled then topped with the mojito sauce. It was a nice looking price of chicken. It came with two sides. He got the yucca fries (tossed in house seasoning and served with mojito aioli) and let us have some. The texture of the yucca fries was excellent and the seasoning on these was also enjoyable. His other side was the fried green plantains that were served with mojito sauce. Wasn't as big of a fan of these, but again plantains aren't my jam. This was a fantastic meal and a different taste than my usual routine, which was nice. Absolutely will be back if in this area of Winston.

Mojito Latin Soul Food is one the BEST Latin restaurants in Winston-Salem! If you're looking to satisfy your Latin craving, Mojito is guaranteed to have you hungry for more. Their venue has a covered outdoor seating area that is the PERFECT vibe for summer nights, and their mojitos and cocktails are only $8 to $10! I was able to try their grilled chicken, Cuban sandwich, yucca fries, and sweet plantain fries, and honestly, this was one of the best meals I've had in this city at an AFFORDABLE price point. Their chicken was incredibly tender, sandwich was full of flavor, and fries were both crispy and fluffy. OF NOTE, they add a 25% GRATUITY surcharge for parties over 6 people and a PROCESSING FEE for credit cards. WORTH IT? YES ABSOLUTELY, so what are you waiting for?? Come thru to Mojitos! Great place for delicious apps. We ordered the yucca cheese bites, ceviche, and ham croquettes. Omg - phenomenal stuff!! Drinks were also very good (try the rum margarita!). Unfortunately, entrees were not the best. I got the pork tacos and they were very bland. My date had one of their Rueben sandwiches and it also fell very short in flavor. Lastly, our server was very friendly but very slow. He would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time and for most of the time, we were waiting on him for something.

My wife and I came to Winston Salem for a weekend concert getaway. On Saturday afternoon we stumbled upon this place. It was busy from the get go so you know it must be a hot spot. The service was exceptional! The interior was of Old Havana; cars, cigars and rum. We ordered street corn, mole verde empanada and the shredded chicken bowl. All of the food was fire with power punching flavors! We liked this place so much we have already decided that we will come here tomorrow for lunch before we leave this charming little city.

Arrived before a big dinner crowd and was seated promptly. Parking for two hours was validated which was a nice perk. We enjoyed the meal. My husband got the authentic Cuban sandwich and I got the fried pork mojito bowl. Both were quite tasty! The fried pork was tender and the bowl with rice pickled onions and sauces felt authentic. I especially enjoyed my plantains that came with the bowl. The sandwich was great even though you could tell the ham was just plain deli ham you can get at the grocery store. With the assumption that's authentic to Cuba we enjoyed it. The restaurant was on the small side but they had an outdoor seating area if you like that option. We had a great server as well. Dessert was churros which tasted like carnival food. I would have liked a little more cinnamon sugar on them but they came out piping hot and the sauces were great with them. I do suspect they use Hershey's chocolate syrup though. The overall price of the meal was not on the inexpensive end of the spectrum but all in all a great experience and we will plan to come again.

I have absolutely no complaints. My server was amazing and attentive even though she was super busy! I truly felt for her. I ordered the lemon lavender mojito - it was perfect. I also got two chicken empanadas (comes with mojito sauce). They were a good size especially if you don't want anything heavy. If you're thinking twice about coming here just do it

Best Cuban sandwich and cortadito this side of Miami! Looking forward to their expansion and some live cuban music. Delicious

As a Cuban in Winston-Salem I can say with certainty this is authentic Cuban food! So far it's the only I've found in Winston-Salem. Their bowls are absolutely delicious and the yuca fries and maduros are my favorite sides. Definitely recommend to try it out! Their seating both inside and outside the restaurant is very cute and great for big groups/family dinners!
