The Best Hot Dogs in Portland, and Where to Find Them - Eater Portland

"For whatever reason, hot dog lovers are less unwavering than their pizza brethren, with plenty enjoying New York, Chicago, Seattle, Dodger, and dozens of other styles without hostility. Less well represented in Portland — but no less vital to the hot dog family — are dogs pulling flavor cues from the East Asian canon, best represented at Mojo Crepes, just east of 82nd on Southeast Division. The counter service Mojo grills up five different all-beef hot dogs each hitting the palate in exciting ways. The Mojo dog is loaded with fried shallots and nori, while the Seoul dog is a fiesta of kimchi, red onions, and sweet, tangy gochujang. There are no veggie dog options, but all the sweet crepes are either vegan or vegetarian. A back room offers billiards and arcade games, though the main dining area is a bit sparse. Mojo is open until 10 p.m. seven days a week." - Nathan Williams

Google
This place is so cute and comfortable. The crepes and fusion dogs they serve are so delicious. My favorite is the mutt with chocolate ice cream crepe. I can't wait to bring my best friend here for a treat. This place will always be my favorite.

Google
Weird combination of crapes w/ ice cream but it works. Different flavor combinations & options, also has arcade games & pool tables to enjoy with friends or a date. A little hidden but can’t miss it.

Google
Love this place for both crepes and for bubble tea. They have delicious treats and lots of variety. It is also a very fun place to visit. They have several arcade games and a few pool tables. Great hang out spot for those that don't want the bar scene. Check it out, and bring a friend!

Google
Three, maybe 4 stars. Definitely not more. Very interesting, eclectic, off the beaten path. Fun to watch the crepes being prepared. The thrill is in the sizzle, not the bite. I personally found the final result to be a bit bland. I was expecting to have my flavor buds knocked out of the park. No. Kinda ok. But, definitely worth the first trip. And then decide for yourself.

Great food and crepes are out of this world.

Google
Went there for the first time yesterday and the atmosphere is so relax, service great and the crepes were amazing !

Google
One place for your dessert cravings, bubble tea and crepe with dogs to order. The fruit that was added to the crepe was fresh and really blends in with the sweetness of the ice cream. Great place to get your crepe fix!!

Google
The crepes are so delicious me and my 10 year old love getting the s’mores crepe ! So good soft warm crepe bundled with chocolate ice cream and graham cracker marshmallows chocolate fudge !! Mmm! Also great Japanese hotdogs like the mojo dog which is a hotdog with spicy sushi sauce and toppings so good!! Fun place to bring kids or teenagers there are pool tables and arcade games to enjoy as well ! And bubble tea!

Yelp
Love the crepes from Mojo's. Such a treat. Favorite drinks to get from Mojo's are the orange snow (tastes just like an orange creamsicle) or the banana smoothie Service is always friendly & quick. Place has tables, some arcade games in the back, & 3 pool tables. Very nice space to hang with friends or family & catch up over some sweet treats.

Yelp
This is a pretty good crepe spot! They offer a pretty good selection of different items, a nice gaming/pool area, and good service. My boyfriend and I came one evening, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've driven by this spot a million times but have never decided to stop by. However, I was craving crepes one night and decided to give it a go. They have a pretty big menu of crepes, fusion dogs, and a bunch of bubble tea options. My boyfriend and I got the five-o crepe and a bubble tea drink. Overall, the crepes were delicious, and I would come back for them. However, the bubble tea was a bit underwhelming and I think there are many better spots in Portland. Nonetheless, it's a nice spot to hang out with friends and offers some good bites.

Yelp
Just get their crepes, don't get anything else. Parking is street parking, or into a bit sketched neighborhood. Love that this place has a pool hall within, checks off all the vibes. Service is fast and friendly, lots of tables and the crepe was solid 5/5.

Yelp
Yummy..yummy.. in our tummy! Delicious dessert in crepe. Fast service and so cool place with lots of games in the next room. Will stay longer if we have more time but it's too late.

Yelp
I went here so often back when I was in high school. It was such a good spot to hang out when running around East Portland. I have a lot of memories from this place that has definitely given me a positive view of Mojo Crepes. Their crepe items are pretty good and a nice dessert to have after a long day, but the items that I keep getting almost every single time are the Fusion Dogs. I know their Fusion Dogs are pretty simple and honestly nothing special, but they've been my go-to comfort food since I started coming here. Would recommend ordering either the classic Mojo Dog which is what I always get. The only thing I'm kind of just whatever about is the boba. There are a lot better options for getting boba on the east side, so it's only worth it if you're already there. I seriously miss being able to come here on my free time, but I live in Seattle now so I cannot visit as often, but I always try to come to Mojos whenever I am in town!

Yelp
Been coming to Mojo Crepes since I was a teenager and it's always cute and yummy. I wish they had more ice cream flavors tho.

Angela A.

Yelp
Yummy in my tummy love the crepes , This was my first time here and I loved it coming in the door is a small arcade Full of fun games and pool tables. I had the mojo crape with strawberry cheesecake ice cream so good and a coffee smoothie that I didn't care for but my son liked it .

Yelp
Service is great! Desserts are always on point! The ambiance is great for the young teenager early adult crowd!

Yelp
I recently had the opportunity to try out Mojo Crepes in Portland, Oregon. I would like to start this review with this: I am not typically a sweets person. I do not have a sweet tooth. That being said, this was a wonderful treat before a late lunch! The establishment is on the corner of a main street, but I had no problem, finding a parking space. I parked on the same block as the restaurant, and who is able to walk right in. I was immediately greeted by two employees, who seemed to enjoy working there, but weren't too chatty. I had never been there before, but my girlfriend who I was with has. She knew exactly what she was going to get, but I had no idea. I asked the person taking my order what's best, and decided on the Mutt crepe (pictured). My girlfriend got the Mojo crepe (pictured. We sat down at a corner table in the side room. We were the only ones there, so it was pretty quiet. I should mention, we got there only 40 minutes after they opened, at 12:40. We were able to sit down and eat our crepes in peace, and have a casual conversation during it. I thoroughly enjoyed my crepe, and it filled me right up. The sense of being full only lasted an hour or two, so we were still hungry for a late lunch, which was in our plans. I ordered the Mutt crepe with Cookies and Cream ice cream, and the Mojo crepe was ordered with Strawberry ice cream. I had a bite of the Mojo, and it was also fantastic. I can say with assurance that I have not been to a place like this one. Overall, I absolutely rate this crepe place a 5/5, and will definitely be going again. I can recommend this to anyone who is looking for an afternoon snack (on the more filling side) and can handle a lot of fruit!

Yelp
ice cream, crepes? mind blown! so good. word of advice, you want to eat FAST. cuz this thing melts pretty quick if you don't. or do what i do, and just stick to one scoop, but that's me.
google avatar

Erica R.

Yelp
I got the S'mores crepe with vanilla ice cream. It was very good and they have video games and pool tables.. I thought that was unique as it makes it a place that you could hangout at. The only downfall was basically no close parking.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
I am a huge dessert person and im happy my boyfriend wanted to take me here. It reminds me when I used to get crepes back in college. This place did not disappoint. I got the mojo dog which is fire! Who knew that nori, fried shallot, teriyaki sauce, and Mayo sauce would mix well in a hot dog?! And on to the crepes. I got the purple rain which has this blackberry sauce. Fire with black cherry ice cream. My boyfriend got the red mango and he loved the peach sauce that came with it. Ugh I wanna go back!

Yelp
I loooove mojos!! Their crepes are so good and I love the vibe of the place. A great place to hangout with friends and eat great food!

Yelp
Looking for a place to fill your sweet tooth or hang out with friends or both? Check this place out!! Parking: street. It's pretty limited. Service: the staff are super friendly!! Location: they have pool tables; video games (they even have a change machine). Super spacious to hang out with friends and have a great time!! Food: DELICIOUS. I got the jeans flambé which is a bananas foster crepe. I got it with death by chocolate ice cream which paired really well!! Recommend this place !!

Yelp
Mojo Crepe was kind of a disappointment. What you actually get is a giant ice cream cone with fruits and the crepe as a cone. While the ice cream and fruits are good, the crepe was over cooked and crispy. It's hard to be positive about a restaurant that names themselves after crepes but then doesn't know how to properly cook it. I didn't try anything else in their menu but I was definitely not impressed. The interior was clean and staff was just ok.

The W.

Yelp
This place was super cool, went on my birthday and got a crepe with Nutella! The ambiance was super chill and the the arcade was a nice touch. Wasn't sure how to eat these crapes bc the Nutella is placed on the bottom of the cone and couldn't get to it without eating the ice cream first. Initially I thought they had forgotten about the Nutella but it was at the bottom. I think maybe I'd like it drizzled throughout the crape or on top of the ice cream. But will go back! Service was quick and friendly. Thanks!

Yelp
Going to places like this with a strawberry allergy can be really hard but Mojo Crepes always makes me feel comfortable. They always make it possible for me to enjoy the crepes while also ensuring I can avoid anaphylactic shock. I appreciate places like this that not only have amazing customer service, but the crepes are always amazing. I'm a returning customer and will always support this place. :)

Yelp
I come here maybe 2-3x a year for a dessert date with my cuzzo. Mmmm Crepes loaded with sweetness and prefecture filling on a hot day. Five-O is a fave of mine. Altho the green tea was lacking a bit. It does get messy towards the end so be prepared with lots of napkins.. $8 for crepes now. 4 Good spot to hang out. Shoot pool. Nice expansion and murals. The newest mural competed last year was by @artbyalexchiu. Pretty impressive! 5 Limited street parking. Lucked out on long lines on a Friday afternoon but service seems pretty fast. Check this place out!

Yelp
Mojos is really great. I love their crepes and their boba is pretty good. Popping boba isn't even really my jam but they do it well. The inside is pretty cute but the workers can be a little stiff and quiet. The atmosphere just isn't always one you want to be in. But the food and drinks make me want to come back!
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times and it's always great. I definitely recommend the crepes over their boba. The staff is always so kind and they never rush you even when they are busy (they get pretty busy sometimes). The store itself is pretty big but with limited seating. It's also right off of a busy road and houses so finding parking is tricky occasionally. Definitely recommend coming.

Yelp
Its been awhile since I visited this place and a lot has changed since then. They have doubled in size, taking over the section next to them and having some pool tables and arcade games. They also expanded their menu with addition of bubble tea and hot dogs (with interesting toppings- reminds me of JapaDog). I still love their original items - the Mojo Crepe: bananas, strawberries, nutella, and vanilla ice cream. I like that they make the crepe fresh and that the toppings go well together. The onmy thing is that it can get a bit messy at the end when you get pass eating the first half of it.
google avatar

Char D.

Yelp
The crepes and boba are surprisingly good. The ice cream they use for the crepe is not overly sweet. Milk tea was good, boba were soft. Would visit again.
google avatar

Namitha S.

Yelp
This Japanese crepe place makes the crepes fresh to order! I had ordered the Strawberry crepe and it was folded and given in a cone with an topping of my choice and whipped cream. I then found out the difference between French Crepe and Japanese Crepe - flat vs cone. A true culinary experience discovery! Haha. The crepes are fairly priced. Would definitely recommend checking them out!

Yelp
I'm writing this update because I may need a 12-step meeting as a result of my Mojo Crepes habit. I am strung out on Jeans Flambe, no ice cream, add strawberries, and the way I look at it, it's a totally healthy choice. I'm embarrassed to say how many times a week I visit this place, but, here's the thing... It's so effing good (and legal). They makes the crepes perfectly. A little crispy and crunchy around the edges, then, they put butter and cinnamon/sugar on while it's fresh off the pan. After they add the fruit, they top it with caramel sauce and roll it up, then whipped cream on top. I mean, all the important food groups are represented and it's a perfect meal/treat/dessert or whatever you wanna call it. I highly recommend Mojo Crepes. In the pandemic, it's a great place to get food quickly and without too much contact with any other humans. Even writing about it makes me wanna go grab a crepe right now...

Yelp
Love love love this place, as we entered it was bright clean atmosphere. They had very clear easy to read menus and a good selection of topping and stuffings. The prices were also very reasonable. They make everything fresh to order and you can watch them make each crepe. They were also very busy while I was in a did a great job of being efficient and got everyone in and out quickly. My crepe had great flavor and portion size was also perfect. I will for sure recommend to friends and be coming back soon.

Yelp
Pretty unique place for dessert after dinner. Not much else to say besides it's a loaded crepe with ice cream. Lots of options to pick from and was pretty quick.
google avatar

Alekkz D.

Yelp
Mojo crepes, this place is just cute. Well the interior is kind of.. shabby-ish but the nape of the place, the monkey logo and bubble tea is really tasty! I haven't tried the crepes so this review is purely based on customer service and the taste of boba. I have gotten the regular milk tea before as well as the taro blended bubble tea! Recently, I have had to cut dairy out of my diet so I had to ask if they have a dairy alternative and they have soy milk! It definitely kept my tummy content and still tasted good!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic date place, hangout place, and generally great place for affordable, yummy eats. The crepes are to die for. G - L - A - M - O - R - O - U - S. First class. Japanese hot dogs also very delish. Great ingredients. Traditional ingredients. Super yummy. For myself, I could eat the yummy meat dogs, but my partner had to forgo getting a hot dog as veggie dogs are not an option here. Add veggie dogs and we're good to effin go, bro.

Yelp
Love Mojos! My favorite crepe is the 5-0. My boyfriend loves to get the soul dog. Drinks are always fire there!

Yelp
I couldn't believe my eyes! Okay so again this place came recommended. Shout out to Sylvia! I didn't even know where to start. It smelt like sweet heaven. They have about a million different things you can order. Bubble Tea every flavor you can image. Speciality Crepes like no other. You can also build your own if your creative or picky! Ice cream is also in the building. It doesn't get any better than that! Oh wait! It can they also have a pool table and music for your enjoyment. I thought this was super cool considering the atom sphere was chill. I could see myself having a dessert night cap here! I guess I could tell you guys what I order..... Just a Match Green Tea Iced Milk. It was fabulous. Simple yet delicious! I loved it! Keep up the good work MoJo!
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
This was a unique crepe experience due to the plethora of toppings and ice cream inside along with the chill ambience, complete with games and pool tables. We ordered the signature mojo and s'mores crepe, which were delicious albeit difficult to eat. The one star deduction is for price - I suppose that the variety of flavors is what constitutes an $8 crepe, but besides having ice cream in them, the insides were nothing special in them. I would return to this restaurant to try the bubble tea, but I think the crepes are a "been there, tried it" deal.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Cute little shop! I went with my siblings. We got 2 crepes and a bubble tea. I got the "Red Mango" crepe and my sister did the "build your own" crepe and my other sister got a mango bubble tea. The Red Mango Crepe is delicious! It has fresh strawberries and mango. I got green tea ice cream in it and it was topped with whip cream and peach syrup drizzle. The only thing I didn't like was how plain the actual crepe tasted but everything in it was good. Cashiers were nice. The wait time was short. Good place for a dessert.
google avatar

Gabriela Z.

Yelp
Seems in the middle of no where, but easy to find. Yummy crepes, nice clean atmosphere. Would go again.
google avatar

Mindy B.

Yelp
Omg....not even a mile away yet and had to do a review. That was so freakin delicious. That was a healthy sized crepe filled w/yummy fillings of all flavors. Also grabbed some boba teas and lemonades to round out our sugar rush. Will be back for sure.

Geneva P.

Yelp
The worker who was serving us let my boyfriend sample some ice cream and ended up breaking the plastic spoon in it. He then served the flavor to my boyfriend who ended up chewing up the spoon into pieces and having to spit it out. Not sure if the worker was high or what... besides that we got here at opening and they didn't actually open the doors for another 10 minutes, when we got invited inside the employee said nothing to us not even a "welcome in" or "we will be with you in a moment". Crepes were okay but we would have preferred them without plastic. The setup of the place was pretty cool with the pool tables and what not but that's the only positive we can really say.
google avatar

Macy M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best bubble tea in Portland and Vancouver. Love the hangout area where you can play pool and some games. Crepes are always freshly made with fresh high quality fruits. The mojo dogs are the best pick me up snack. Prices are reasonable and definitely worth it.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Crepes you say? And add ice cream? This can't be bad for you, right? This is absolutely healthy for you..... Well my brother and I ventured here after a Portland Pickles game and this is actually the closest ice cream stop along the way home. Apparently this is a high school hang out and the two of us were by far the oldest people in here minus four that walked in after us. Some old school video games (a sit down Pac-man) and three pool tables in the next room crowded by said teens. The offerings are simple, the Japanese style crepes, Japanese and Korean style hot dogs with things like pickled ginger, kim chi and seaweed (those looked good and I'd like to go back just to try one or two, only $5 a pop and the dogs are huge) and boba tea and those type of drinks with the odd jelly things or tapioca pearls. We were here for the first. They make the crepes right on the spot, so it takes a few minutes to get your ice cream. I got the "Fudgin' Good" which was ice cream with peanut butter, bananas and chocolate sauce and the death by chocolate ice cream seemed the obvious choice. As I mentioned it took a few minutes, but it was worth it. A large crepe wrapped in both plastic (extremely helpful) and a paper cone. I survived unscathed, my brother didn't fare so well and ended up wearing some of his "Purple Rain" a concoction with various berries and a blackberry sauce. Nice little spot but one that I used to pass by all the time when I lived in the area, a shame I never made it in sooner. I'll make it back soon just to try one of those hot dogs. Enjoy.
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
This place serves up some pretty awesome Japanese-style crepes. What's that you say? It's a crepe that is rolled into the shape of a cone, then filled with toppings and ice cream! I mean, based on that ingredient list alone, you'd guess that they're decadent and delicious... and you'd be right! Today I opted for the Purple Rain, which is a crepe served with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberry syrup and your choice of ice cream. I opted for death by chocolate, because duh. The crepe is made fresh to order and it probably came out in about 5 minutes. Granted, they weren't at all busy, but that's pretty quick! I was worried that it would be messy, but I managed to keep all of the ice cream and syrup off of my face and clothes! The whole thing cost $7, which seems reasonable to me. They do sell Japanese hotdogs (I think what makes them Japanese are the unique-to-Americans toppings) and bubble teas. I didn't have either of those, but I'll be sure to be back for the hot dogs soon. The space is... not awesome. The main space is small and for the most part quite clean. However we were going to sit on a futon - already an odd choice for a creperie - and realized it was COVERED in stains. Gross. The side room is full of pool tables and teenagers. Seriously, a LOT of teens hang out here. Bonus points for the cutest branding I've seen in quite some time. I wonder if their mascot has a name? All I know is that he/she/it is adorable. So glad to get somewhat off of the beaten path and discover Mojo Crepes. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
The idea of Japanese crepes intrigued me. However I was a little thrown off by the various personalities of this place. The restaurant is split into 3 sections. Section 1: Food. They serve Japanese crepes (french crepe, scoop of ice cream, various toppings like berries, oreos, nutella, etc.), Japanese hot dogs (I can't imagine they import the dogs themselves but they do put a ton of toppings on a hot dog), and bubble tea. I just had a crepe. You can get their specialty ones for $8 or make your own. If you pick 3 toppings it's also $8 which most of the specialty ones have. I made my own and it was fine. I found the ice cream to melt pretty quickly and it made a mess. I don't eat dessert items slowly either. This section also had the smell of your classic Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor. Oh and they have classic sit down Donkey Kong. Section 2: Pool. Want to play some pool while eating your Japanese crepe? They have 3 tables. Knock yourself out. Section 3: Seating. And video games. They have a really nice wood table tucked into the far back corner. And if any of the other options at this place didn't catch your fancy, they have classic Atari Space Invaders. Don't worry, they have a quarter machine if you need to exchange dollars for change. Overall the place was pretty loud, and we were there on a Monday. Seems like a go-to spot for high schoolers in the summer. Food wasn't bad by any means. The goofy SE 82nd strip mall style restaurant/entertainment center is hard for me to get in to.

Yelp
Avocado smoothie fan here. I'm on the hunt for places that serve avocado smoothies and was happy to find this place was open late and sold them as where I usually go was closed. The smoothie was very creamy, not icy at all, and had a nice consistency. It was thick and not too liquidy. However it was definitely on the sweeter side but perhaps that's something I can adjust in the future. The tapioca was better than average but still a tad mushy. But this will probably be my go to for a late night smoothie for sure.

Yelp
Nice place to have some dessert with friends. Ice cream in here is so good and price is reasonable. Only only con is that will be Street parking. Highly recommend

Yelp
The cutest little gem!! They have lots of options of crapes, bubble tea and even hot dogs! Nice little place to lounge, they have pool tables for 1.00 and lots of board games as well. Friendly staff and everything we ordered was tasty and the portions are very big so easily shared. There was no music playing which I thought was odd but maybe they just like the quiet
google avatar

Namhee L.

Yelp
Found this cute gem while visiting Portland. Such a dope, fun, artsy-chill place for unique desserts & savory treats. While you wait you can play old school pinball type games at certain tables for some change (they have a change machine). The adjacent room has a few pool tables and more seating. I wish there were more tables in the front area, it's much brighter especially since we went at night. The walls are also covered in cool art, reminded me of cafes in Japan/Korea. My bf and I tried the "mojo" crepe which has (your choice of ice cream) I chose strawberry cheesecake w/ strawberries, bananas, Nutella + whip cream and a taro bubble tea. You can choose from the traditional menu or customize to your own liking. Only con was the wait, there were only two guys working and I just beat a rush. If you order crepes prepare to wait a while, the guy making the crepes didn't seem too happy. The cashier was friendly though! The crepe was delicious, light and perfectly chewy. The fresh fruit & ice cream complimented the crepe perfectly. If you're craving something sweet OR salty (they also serve hot dogs w/ unique Asian toppings!) I would try out their crepes! If they aren't your thing, the boba was pretty yummy. Can't wait to try the hot dogs next time!

Yelp
Went when it was busy, but our crepes came out fresh and in a timely manner. Ordered the Mojo with vanilla ice cream and the Tokyo Sundae with condensed milk and vanilla ice cream. Both very yummy!

Yelp
Really upset with the pathetic reviews some of you leave #1 This is a JAPANESE CREPE. It's meant to be in a cone. If you want your flat ass crepes go to a French crepe shop. #2. Yelp is for rating product offered, service, quality etc that they are responsible for NOT ruining a businesses rating because you don't like the kind of people that eat or shop there. How does that make any sense??? I wouldn't rate a place a 1 star because of something they have nothing to do with. Grow up. I will always make the 30 min drive here. Great delicious crepes!!!! I personally don't like the Boba tea here but if I wanted good Boba tea... I wouldn't go to a crepe shop for it, it go to a Boba tea shop. But since I only get crepes, there is no better place to go. The girls that work here aren't the friendliest but it doesn't deter me, the sweet soft crepes filled with creamy delicious ice cream, tart and sweet fresh fruit and a wide variety of indulgent toppings are just what I look for.
google avatar

Yelp
Very high quality! I loved the atmosphere and the vibezz. I had the MOJO, super delicious! Only downside heavy handed whip and not as much fruit
google avatar

Cera O.

Yelp
Crepe tasted okay. Wasn't anything impressive. Fruit seemed fresh, which was good. Service was kind of meh. The workers just seemed like they don't care to be there. The environment is meh. Not very inviting. I stayed in there long enough to just grab the crepe. Will be searching for better crepes closer to home.

Yelp
What is this place?! It's unique is what it is. POPPING BOBA! it's like adult gushers inside milk tea. I like that you don't have to 'chew them' to have that bubble tea feeling. I came after lunch just for that and saw crepes that looked so frikin amazing and smelt like such sweet goodness I debated filling my already full belly with more. But that will be for another time cuz I do t think those should be passed up. Also sushi hot dogs?? Never heard of them but wasn't entirely thrown off by them either. Seaweed and spicy mayo on my hotdog? I think it would be really interesting and they did look appetizing. I'll have to try both and update my review! Back to the milk teas- their flavor combos they have is so sooo long I'd suggest looking at a menu before you go. I got plain taro with popping lychee boba and it was a delightful combination. My friend got the purple rain which was similar but made with coconut milk instead, also really good!

Julian S.

Yelp
Came in after a long bike ride. I was expecting a small treat, but the crepes made here are both quality and quantity. I tried the s'mores -- can't wait to try the others as well.
