"While Brownsville is well-known for soul food, the neighborhood also has its fair share of good Latin restaurants like Mojo Grille. Order "papi’s picadillo" here, one of six bowls on the menu. It comes with a main portion of savory picadillo mixed with roasted potatoes and olives. Paired with rice, beans, plantains, and your choice of sauce, this dish is a solid lunch or casual dinner option. They also have six different sandwiches or wings if you're not in a bowl mood. " - india amos

JANUARY 24, 2025: Unfortunately, this experience was not what I expected. I was ready to title this review, "🗣 Chipotle, Count Your Days!" However, the other reviews that spoke of the excessive saltiness were right. I ordered the ropa vieja, cafe con leche and toast. Well, the coffee and toast were delicious! 😆 Can't say the same about the ropa vieja. It was unbearably salty! And I like salt. I eat ropa vieja from the Sergio's restaurant located in the Hialeah Gardens Wal-Mart on Okeechobee Road quote often. There's is delicious and perfectly marinated. You can taste the fresh tomato sauce in it more than anything. Mojo Grill was inedible. I am very disappointed. Even the rice was bad. I had high hopes for this place. I feel robbed because I spent over $17 on food I could only eat $3 worth of. 😔 I don't think I'll be returning, simply because previous reviews complained about the saltiness and the restaurant has not fixed it. Good luck to everyone else. I'd suggest the coffee and toast only. JANUARY 25, 2025 So, I tried to give this place another shot this morning and it solidified my decision never to eat here again. What I didn't mention yesterday was that they cut me off when I tried to tell them how I wanted my coffee. Well, they did it again today. 😒 If this is a true Cuban establishment, they should know that everyone takes their coffee differently, with the options of dark, light, sweet or no sugar. Well, they completely ignored me again and did whatever they chose. Also, the price for my order was ridiculous! I only ordered a large cafe con leche and toast. The cafe was $5.25 and the TINY piece of toast was $2.45. I included pictures of the receipt and food below. I will continue to go to the Chevron gas station on 62nd Street in Hialeah, right across the railroad tracks. They are so sweet and patient. Not to mention you could get a LARGE piece of toast and large coffee for $6. They also remember their customers by name. So, my son ordered a breakfast wrap. It was excessively greasy. I'm convinced these people don't know how to cook. I'm over it with them. They'll never get another red cent from me. I've tried their lunch AND breakfast. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

I've only ordered online from this spot and the food is usually pretty good (their bowls and sweet plantains especially) and reasonably priced for the amount, as well as their cafe con leche and colada, but lately the turkey sausage patty has been inedible. I'm not sure if it's the grease or the type of patty they use now but it's not good at all. This is the 3rd time I've gotten this nasty one. Only had a good one the first time. The croissant sandwich itself is good just without the meat.

I recently ordered takeout at Mojo Grille Cuban Kitchen and had a mixed experience. The lemon pepper chicken wings were overly salty. The fries were okay they were cooked well and served hot. Unfortunately, the tostones were disappointing. On a positive note, the lemonade was fantastic, refreshing, and sweet. The service was good, with friendly and attentive staff. Overall, while the service and lemonade were highlights.

The mango smoothie had banana it and tasted very delicious. The pork w/tostenes (fried plantains) was too salty for me. I tasted the garlic and onion in the pork. It was good. Quick cuban fast food joint. I will be back again.

I regularly use the drive-thru service, so I can't speak about the atmosphere. However, I can confidently say that this place has the best pan con bistec I've ever had. Pro tip: Ask for extra meat – it makes it even better!👌🏼

Food usually good but yesterday Steak under cooked so chewy and beans had non fresh taste. Churros w/out Nutella not great always over / under fried.

First time here, ordered the lemon pepper wings. It felt like I was biting into the ocean!! Way too much lemon pepper made the wing extra salty!! A lemon pepper sauce would be much better!! At least the fries were great!!
