Mojo's Tacos

I had such a fantastic experience at Mojo Tacos that I had to share. The food was absolutely delicious, but what really made this visit stand out was the combination of incredible staff and true gluten‑free awareness. As someone with celiac, eating out can be stressful, but the team here was not only incredibly friendly — they were also genuinely knowledgeable about gluten‑free requirements and cross‑contamination. They took every precaution, and for the first time in a long time, I felt completely comfortable enjoying a meal I didn’t have to prepare myself. I don’t eat out very often, but when I do, Mojo Tacos will be at the top of my list from now on. Great food, great people, and thoughtful care for dietary needs. Highly recommend.

I had the chance to try Mojo’s Tacos’ brand new Torta Special today, and I’m proud to say I was the first customer to order it. And let me tell you, they knocked it out of the park. I went with the blackened chicken, and it was fantastic. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right kick. Paired with the toasted hoagie roll, queso, fresh avocado, pico, jalapeños, and that fire sauce, every bite was loaded with flavor. Creamy, fresh, and spicy all at once without being overwhelming. You can tell this sandwich was well thought out. It’s a great twist on a traditional torta, and it’s easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve had around St. Augustine. If you’re heading to Mojo’s Tacos, do yourself a favor and try the new Torta Special. I’ll definitely be ordering it again.

Edit: back for the third time (in 2 days)! Including a picture this time! Dang it’s so good! It smells good. It tastes good. The staff are awesome! 😎 They Wow!! The food was DELICIOUS!! I needed a real taco at 10 am and this place delivered! I got the beef taco. Hubby got the el guapo. Both were seasoned to perfection. Even my sweet tea was perfect! I ate too quickly to get a pic, sorry, but know you won’t be disappointed!!

My mom enjoyed her bean, rice, cheese, guacamole burrito. I am vegan. I asked if they had tofu & they said "yes. It is our plant based one", so I got that, but their plant-based is NOT tofu, it is a fake meat crumble that is salty. I did not want salty or fake meat, I regret ordering it, I wish the staff were more knowledgeable of their food. I am so disappointed in these 2 vegan burritos ordered because of how salty they are. Also, to note, this is not authentic Mexican if that is what you're looking for. There is ample seating inside & a designated parking lot. -EDIT- Changed to 3 stars because my mom really liked her burrito. *I am still not impressed by the vegan burrito-->minus the salty 'meat' crumbles there was no flavor. & for the sarcasm from the owner's response-I am glad my review was dubbed important enough to respond to.

I really liked it. They have a variety of menu options, and it’s a great place if you’re watching your diet — you can get good quality protein. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was great, very enjoyable to hang out. I give it 4.5 stars.

They’re accommodating, patient, and clearly care about the experience just as much as the food. If you want amazing shrimp and steak tacos, fresh chips and guac, delicious arepas, and a welcoming atmosphere — this is your place. A local gem that deserves all the support. Just ordered through DoorDash, ordered three burritos, Tempeh and two chicken. Very disappointing, burritos were very soggy and lacked flavor. My coworker ordered the Tempeh burrito and once she got to the second half she found this hair, as shown in the pictures. Then found out that Mojos failed inspection. Very very very disappointing and disgusting.

Absolutely delicious food! Tacos were amazing, especially the Mahi Mahi ones- best everyone in my party has ever had! Chips were fresh and perfectly salted, along with the yummy queso and great special mojo sauce on everything. Highly recommend!

These two fine gentlemen named Ryan and Fynn helped me out and the food was downright delicious. 10/10 for any Tacoholic!

Surf Beach Chill Taco Burrito Bowl Cafe. Best menu on the planet for someone like me. Easy to order if you love tacos. Pick a protein and enjoy your life. All tacos are Double Deckers. You get a crunchy taco protected by melted cheese and a soft tortilla. I love every taco. And the blacked mahi taco had an absolutely beautifully cooked piece of fish. Be back again soon This is a must stop and if parking is full go find a spot somewhere and walk over it's worth it.

Tacos were good. We have tried Mexican food here in FL from Miami to St Augustine to Sarasota to Gainesville and the Carne asada is cooked in a red sauce? It's wet and not seasoned very well. We are From CA and city of San Diego born and raised and we know real true Mexican food is plus we are Mexican. This is not how carne asada is prepared. And many places don't have fresh salsa?? Only store bought hot sauce, again not true Mexican. We were given what taste like "red hot" that is usually put on chicken wings?

Always so good! We always opt for a couple of tacos-chicken for me-Mahi and a shrimp for the hubby. Split a queso -- love the vibe, love the food--we will be back!

First off, let me just say that this place is SUCH a lifesaver on those scorching hot Florida days. We came here after shopping around for a little bit and the sun was baking us dry. The inside is so nice and dark and cool it was refreshing. Food-wise: we got the nachos and the arepas. The portions are very generous and they make sure to have toppings throughout both the nachos and arepas so it's not just the surface. Good little taco joint, great for a pickmeup/refresher after a busy morning/day at the beach or exploring Besides, easy parking and dog-friendly too

A must!! Stopped in on a day trip to St Augustine and this place was so yummy! Such a popular spot that can get busy but it moves relatively timely! Such a cute surf taco shop. I love the double decker/hard shell and soft shell combination of their tacos and the arepas was also delicious. With the side of chips, everything hit the spot. They offer mahi, shrimp, barbacoa, pork, and chicken, all of which were so good. The workers were also so nice as well. I'd definitely recommend this place for a meal!

Amazing little joint off of st Augustine blvd. We were just driving and pull in and oh boy , happy we did. The small restaurant had a menu over the counter and the staff were friendly. You can eat at the restaurant or you can take the food to go. It seemed to be a mix. When we received the food, the portions were nice and the food was excellent and everything is made from scratch and it's all fresh! Will go back!

On a recent trip to Florida, I and friend ate here and we enjoyed the tacos so much! They were delicious! If I lived there, I'd be a regular customer!

Great food and service. Ordered nachos on the phone but because they are so fast, they waited till we got there to make them - took like 60 seconds and BAM - hot fresh nachos and fast!!!

Mojo's Tacos offers a solid taco experience, though I don't enjoy it quite as much as Osprey's. But it is open on Tuesdays!! However, their brisket taco stands out and is truly amazing--it's in a class all by itself. One improvement they could make is adding Jarritos to their drink selection, which would complement their food nicely. Overall, it's a good spot for tacos with standout items worth trying.

Mojos tacos have the best food. I am hooked on the mahi tacos, I've been eating one every morning, for three days straight. Service and cook are top notch.

We are here for the first time last night and the food was absolutely delicious! Fresh, tasty and generous portions. We got a free refill on our chips. The service was fast and very friendly. The ambience is casual.

Came here close to close with some friends when visited them and was glad that we did! First thing I noticed was even though we entered 15 minutes before they closed, I felt we were treated as if we just walked in when they opened and it was very clean! The level of customer service was top notch ! We even took our time looking at the menu , dined inside and never once felt pressured for us to leave. Ordered two different arepas and it was delicious!!! Also got some mojo sauce on the side and wish I had more. I think they have the best hot sauce I've ever tried Food was delicious! Even though I'm use to Venezuelan arepas and it wasn't similar, it still was worth every bite! Great place for vegans and carnivore to enjoy a meal out! My only complaint would be I got the raspberry tea in the glass jar and wouldn't get it again.

I ordered from door dash and I went to the Anastasia blvd location to pick up my order (as I always have) I go in and this smart ass woman behind the counter tells me they turned off their tablet 2 days ago, me not knowing what that meant), I say what does that mean? she says go get your phone she meets me in the parking lot looks at my order and says you can't just go to a Mojo's,..(with out explaining the problem,) I say what does that mean? She says you can't just go to a Mojo's! I then say what on earth is going on here?And then she says (Finally) when we are busy we turn off DDash and we send it to another location, then she says and don't be rude, I said I'm not being rude I'm just confused. Keep in mind, She could have said all this right away but chose to be mean for no reason. I did get bothered, but her not explaining their actions in advance caused misunderstanding and confusion for no good reason.

Have been to both locations four times in the past few weeks. Great food & service. The shrimp burritos were amazing. Also, tried the chicken arepa and beef burrito are great. Today we had a breakfast sandwich that was very good along with steak tacos that were amazing. Maili always does a great job taking care of us. Not sure about the name spelling. Will definitely return.

Killer ! For real just stop and try it. Small inside so if you have a large party might not be the best place to eat indoors. Our family did take out so this wasn't an issue. Average of 5$ a taco which all have a generous portion of meat. Highly recommend it.

The Best Vegan Food! You must try the arepas! Very happy with the many delicious vegan choices. Eat here every chance I get.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had!! Really cool little dive joint but it is small inside so if you come with a lot of people you may be sitting outside.

We had a party of seven and got everything from plain tacos to bowls to the queso. We tried I think all the protein options you could and everything was great!

First time visit, so I wasn't really sure what to expect other than the reviews were good. The kid who helped me at the counter was very accommodating and very helpful! I told him what I wanted, and he led me in the right direction. Received our food and it was very good and there were huge helpings, so you're definitely getting your moneys worth! I judge a place on if I would return and I would definitely come back to this place. My friend also enjoyed her meal.

Great food! was close to closing and one of the staff members was very rude when they said it was fine to order. was bizarre when they cleaned very close to our table and we were kicked out. it was really good, but the server didn't understand how to give good customer service, one of the workers was great though. the one server was really really really bad though.

I'm from New Jersey where the tacos aren't the best but they are far from the worst. I came here with high expectations and i don't know why. Maybe because I'm from out of town. Let's just say I'd rather eat home 20x over. The tacos here were extremely salty. The service was great and the ambiance was very welcoming. I guess it makes up for mediocre tacos. Or maybe it's just because I'm from out of town. Support this place but be weary.

I've been here a number of times and it never disappoints! Ambience is super casual with a decent amount of seating inside and some tables with umbrellas outside. There's parking out front but even more out back in a fenced area. I love the mahi tacos, and the mojo sauce gives them a little kick, plus you get a bonus of tortilla chips in the bottom of your bag. For the tacos, they put the cheese between two tortillas - brilliant! If you like tacos in a casual spot with fun beach themed music, then check it out!

Mojos Tacos never disappoints. Especially when Ryan and Fynn are working. They don't just serve tacos, they serve good vibes, and the kind of customer service that makes you wonder if you should tip extra or just invite them to the hangout with you. 10/10 recommend.

I had this taco about two years ago in St Augustine when me and my now husband first visited and I couldn't stop thinking about it. It didn't disappoint this time either. The tacos are so fresh and cooked to order. They are like double decker so a hard and soft shell. The drink options are amazing and so is the decor in the establishment. I love the vibes and the amount of flavor and protein/filling in the tacos leaves nothing behind. The free chips in the bottom of the bag were astounding as well! Service was great, good food we will definitely be back and hopefully sooner this time! Also bonus its pet friendly!

Sooooooo good we went twice. For lunch, I had the chicken arepas. My husband had the steak bowl. We returned the following day for breakfast and ordered El Guapo, El Camaron, and a Mojo Risin. This place is amazing. Food is very fresh. Everything was so flavorful. I was surprised at how amazing everything we ordered was. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I must visit, so glad we found this place.

Mojo's is a great place for tacos! That being said...I had the arepa with chicken this time and it was also phenomenal. Great flavor and plenty of food. The service was very good and I was certainly impressed.

Friendly service! We got steak nachos which were good and a big portion, I got the chicken taco which was a pretty average taco but the mojo sauce was nice and spicy. I also got the street brisket taco which was SO, SO GOOD!! I highly recommend it.

The tacos are horrible, greasy with yellow cheese, this is NOT Mexican food Tacos, the salsa is NOT salsa its canned corn that tasted bad. Worst tacos I have ever had. never coming back to this lame place, they can't even clean the dirty front door.

Mojos Tacos is a quick and easy place to eat dinner. I recently tried the skirt steak, which is a new menu item, and it was delicious! I have food sensitivities and always appreciate how accommodating Mojo's is. Great spot!

This walk up restaurant was a delightful break from the crowds in the Old Town area. It's across the bridge heading to the beaches. It has inside seating. The server was terrific. The food was plentiful and very good. We would come back again.

My husband and I were in St. Augustine, and we were looking for a quick bite to eat on our way to a welcome party. We spotted this and decided to give it a try. I appreciated all the options on the menu. There aren't too many tables, and several of them were dirty when we arrived, but we thankfully found one that was clean and available... and while we were waiting for our food, the person taking orders did come out and clean off the other tables. The staff weren't overly friendly, just seemed to be there to do their job and nothing more, but I tend to keep my expectations pretty low these days in quick service restaurants. All that being said, we did really enjoy the food we ordered. I ordered the Arepa with skirt steak, which was delicious, and my husband enjoyed his skirt steak and barbacoa tacos. We did get some chips with our order, and I was thankful I didn't go with any of the nachos orders, because they seemed like store bought tortilla chips. But overall we did enjoy the food, and I was disappointed we didn't make it back to try their breakfast menu.

This place is small in building size, big in serving portion size. Deliciousness in every bite. Outdoor seating is optional. After sightseeing around St Augustine, take that hunger here cause the portion size is filling.

I am currently on a local Taco Tour for myself and a few clients. Mojo's was on my list, and it was finally time. We went to the Anastasia Island location, and planned to indulge. My husband ordered the asada nachos (we had been talking about nachos) and he couldn't resist. His portion was large, but he loved the thick, lightly seasoned chips that held up to the queso, pico and other toppings. Nothing is worse than soggy nachos. I stuck to the mission and ordered two tacos with a side of sour cream and a side of guac. Mojo's signature move is giving double tortilla tacos: a soft and a hard, held together with cheese. Inside, they stuff tons of protein, lettuce, and pico. They are large, but again, they hold up to the fillings, so not super messy. I got the ground beef and the blackened shrimp. The beef was good, but the shrimp was amazing! I wish I had ordered two of them. Guacamole was also delicious - great avocado flavor and paired wonderful with the chips. The side of sour cream was one of those condiment packets, so it was a little tough to navigate, but just worth a note. There wasn't a lot of indoor seating, but there is a patio with tables (a rainstorm was coming so we had to snag a seat inside). It would be lovely on a day with better weather.

I'm apprehensive to leave a review because they are already busy enough. As locals with a teen in sports, we find ourselves dining more often than we would like to admit at mojos. The tacos have been exceptionally good lately and the blonde that works on Wednesdays at the island location is the sweetest! The food is reasonably priced and always yummy! Laura and her family have a great business. We've been going since it opened and they always accommodate our orders. I have found the food consistency to be the best recently and the place seems to be getting better with time

Cool, funky little taco stand. Good selection of tacos, burritos, bowls, etc. Several vegetarian and vegan choices, too. Service was fast, and food was well-prepared. Had a dipped "street taco" that looked and tasted a lot like a birria taco (including consomme on the side), that was very tasty, as well as a refreshing limeade. Will have to come back when visiting St. Augustine again.

Tacos are awesome! Love them. Could never get tired of them. Chips are great and good. The staffs that work there are young people and seem friendly and nice. Service is good and fast. Theres also one on Santa Maria blvd next to shores and that's a hit location to eat there. I would recommend going back.

One thing I don't expect to see as a paying customer is a rodent in the lobby. I paid for my food, waited for my food, only to be chased out twice in the same day by a rat so I took it upon myself to go look at the health inspection website And to my surprise they have been closed down recently for rodents. I've also noticed that they have a new roof being built, however I wonder if they've gotten rid of the rodents.

Awesome little corner gem. Stopped in on 3/26 after a fun day at the arcade. I loved the decor; felt very surf's up ish. I really liked how they had kombucha on tap! Lucky me the kombucha of the day was Butterfly Pea... such a light floral delicate taste. We ordered a few orders of tacos beef and chicken. I ordered the beef bowl. It was perfect I left nothing in the container. All food is served in to go boxes and plastic utensils are available self serve style. They also had fresh made fro-yo. Decent prices as well, place was packed by the time we were leaving. Give them a go!

We found this because one of our party had some special dietary needs and they seemed accommodating, at least per the online reviews. When we arrived we were delighted to discover that they are VERY considerate of dietary issues. When we asked if the house sauce had dairy, the woman at the register replied knowledgeably that yes it did, but would we like the non-dairy version. Why yes! No queso, would we want to sub Guacamole?, why yes again! And they have a great menu with options for Vegan, Gluten Free, Dairy Free plus for the "I can eat anything" person, there are great options too! They have some limited inside seating, great for a hot day. There was also quite a bit of outside seating which would be nice on more temperate days. We had a very young baby with us and felt very comfortable dining here. Certainly a family friendly spot. I had the Shrimp taco and the Mahi taco plus we ordered some chips with Guacamole. Our Dairy Free diner ordered a burrito bowl, no queso and dairy free sauce. Service was friendly, as mentioned before very competent and confident as well as knowledgeable and quite efficient. All the food was delicious. The tacos are the double shell kind and the Mahi was cooked so well, slightly blackened. Shrimp was prepared similarly and very good. A definite spot to bookmark and return often as they have a great looking menu with so many great things left to try, even for the restricted diner.
