"Moké’s began in 2004 in Kailua as a homey breakfast spot and built a following around its liliko‘i pancakes — a fluffy stack draped in a silky passionfruit sauce. Since then, it’s expanded to Japan and Kaimukī. Both the Kailua and Kaimukī locations offer a cheerful atmosphere and menu favorites, including house-made corned beef hash, a loco moco with the hamburger patty swapped out for prime rib, and those pancakes, still a must order." - Martha Cheng

Moke’s is one of our favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Kaimuki. All of the staff are friendly and attentive, making the entire meal such a relaxing and pleasant experience. We love the Lilikoi pancakes (so fluffy and ono), their Loco Moco is one of my favorite on the island, the Reuben sandwich always satisfies my cravings for a NYC Reuben sandwich. The Moke’s proprietary blend of coffee goes perfectly with any of the breakfast offerings. For breakfast, try to get there before 9:00am or be prepared to wait a bit to get a table because Moke’s is a super popular spot for the locals and tourists.

Came in on a Thursday morning for brunch. Not too crowded, the service was good. I had the Liliko'i Pancake and it was fluffy and delicious. Perfect mixture of tart and sweet. My friend had the Loco Moco and judging by the speed that he ate, it must've been pretty good!

Megan

Google
Good breakfast spot. Cute interior, small space so you might have a bit of a wait on the weekends during brunch hours. Staff were friendly, service was quick. The portions are big and very filling so come hungry!

Google
One of the best breakfasts ever!!! Loco Moco with Chorizo, Stuffed Hashbrown with fried rice along with Banana pancake & Liliko’i pancake. Recommend sharing all. Dallas was fantastic server who recommended all. Highly recommend coming even if not right near.

Google
Must stop place near Waikiki for breakfast and coffee. Loco moke and their muffin of the day is my favorite! Maddie our server was fantastic.

Google
We found Moke’s through a quick Google search and are happy to have found this gem. We tried Jazzy Jeff, their take on the Loco Moco from the “secret menu”, and the Sunrise Breakfast featuring the famous Liliko’i pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Both dishes were delicious! The Jazzy Jeff portion size is quite large so don’t expect to finish it unless you come very hungry. The pancakes tasted great and the passion fruit sauce on top was addictive. No syrup needed. All in all it was great value and the staff were friendly. We were even given a sample of their honey biscuits on the house.

Google
I decided to try this place with the wife and kids. Upon arriving they were very accommodating. We had two small babies so we definitely appreciate them being helpful in getting them situated. Also our server Dallas gave us a great recommendation of an off menu item called the Jazzy Jeff. It’s sort of like a breakfast Philly cheese steak item with eggs and rice. So glad he recommended it as it was amazing! Great experience and food! Would go again!

Google
Savory flavors and generous portions made this place one of my favorites during this visit to Hawaii! We started with a single honey biscuit, grilled, which served with honey butter was great. Just note that the biscuit grilled costs extra, which our waiter probably forgot to mention. As entrees we ordered their take on the loco moco which substitutes the usual hamburger patty for ribeye! But because we were hungry we ordered the patty as well haha. This was a big dish, be aware. We also ordered their pancakes and a side of home style potatoes that they don’t always have, both were decent. All in all I’d come again if looking for big breakfast. A note about parking for people driving: it seems that they border a big public lot that I didn’t know about until after searching for street parking.

Yelp
Food: Mmmm mmmm good!!! I'm definitely hitting Moke's when I'm back in Hawaii! The popular pancakes you see online were just amazing, the sauce was delicious! Service: Excellent! They always made sure we had coffee in our mugs! Everyone was extremely friendly! The whole family loved their food! Ambiance: was chill, and cozy!

Yelp
Second time here. Ordered the Loco Moke both times. Really disappointed from my first experience! No garlic rice anymore due to low staff and long prep time. Food was ok. Steak was overcooked, smaller, and bland. Boyfriend got the Loco Moco with a small hamburger patty compared to other eateries. The gravy wasn't authentic and tasted like it was made from a packet with water. Customers BEWARE * - No transparency on charges. No notice on menu or by server. Only noticed it on my check. Charged $1 each for egg surcharge because of shortage.

Mark W.

Yelp
Our server was very attentive and the coffee was good. My companions' breakfasts were fine--"Everyday Breakfast" with eggs, bacon and hash browns. I ordered the corned beef hash breakfast with hash browns. The eggs were perfectly cooked but the hash was awful. A pink blob on the plate, barely warm and the consistency of mashed potatoes--did they put it through a blender? Nothing like the ono cbh at Sweet E's or Lulu's. Hot sauce came in a bottle but ketchup came in packets--really?We had to ask for jam for toast. Sorry this wasn't more positive.

Corina Q.

Yelp
One of my go-to breakfast spots! Moke's never disappoints and is always worth the line if there ever is one. I always get the Lilikoi Pancakes (either by itself or with the Sunrise Special) but their Loco Loco and French Toast are also so bomb! There's quite a few tables inside, and a few tables outside. The service is great and quick, and there's lots of shared parking around Kaimuki

Yelp
TLDR: Coworker highly recommended their lilikoi pancakes and it was one of the best recommendations I got all trip. Truly top 3 pancakes I've ever had in my life I think. Loco moco was also solid, and the service was really great. Convenient paid parking lot for this whole complex of shops and buildings. I will dream of these pancakes for a little while. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] Lilikoi pancakes (5/5) - Soft, fluffy, and bathed in an airy lilikoi sauce that wasn't too sweet but added to much to these pancakes. There's so much sauce that even though we got a stack of two (huge) pancakes, there was plenty of sauce to compensate for the bottom layer of pancakes. 2. Loco Moco (4.5/5): Our first loco moco of the trip and a fantastic start! Only feedback would be that the rice could have been a little softer and there was probably a bit too much rice relative to the rest of the ingredients, but overall I thought it was really solid. ------ SERVICE: * The two guys working when we came in were a delight. Super friendly, always seemed to read our minds in terms of what we needed (extra plates, extra utensils, napkins, etc). They were happy to give tips on things to do nearby and were just great to meet on our trip. Thank you both! ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Walk up some stairs outdoors to get to the second floor of the complex where Moke's is located * Inside has quite a few tables that can be moved and rearranged to accommodate variously sized groups. * Outside there is a huge paid parking lot. Made parking easy and it's only $0.75/hour or so

Yelp
Decided to come here for breakfast before going to a hike at manoa falls. I was searching for a good loco moco before leaving Honolulu and after debating between Moke's, rainbow drive in, and a couple other places, I decided on Mokes! There's a large paid parking lot where you can park in although I ended up doing street parking. Came at 830am on a Saturday and there was no wait yet, seems like it gets more packed around 10-11am. The restaurant itself feels homey and they have both indoor and outdoor seating available. If you want to try a little bit of everything in loco moco form, get the big Kat which gives you the steak, corn hash, and Portuguese sausage on your rice! A meat lovers dream Food: 5/5: Loco moke with garlic rice - having a ribeye instead of hamburger patty is a genius idea and also opted for garlic rice instead of standard rice which is very aromatic and smells and tastes delicious! The dish is a little salty with the gravy but you're not ordering loco moco to save on sodium. 4/5: lilikoi pancakes - the pancakes are light and fluffy and the lilikoi sauce does taste very good. Perfect amount of sweetness and tartness. Great place for breakfast and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
After an early start to the day, the husband and I stopped by Moke's for brunch. Upon arrival, we waited about 10 minutes or so to be seated. After looking over their menu, we decided on the Liliko'i Pancakes and the Loco Moco, both of which were great. The Liliko'i pancakes were nice with a good balance of sweet and tangy, and the portion size was also fulfilling. The Loco Moco was also tasty and the perfect savory to the sweet pancakes. All in all, food and vibes were solid. Looking forward to returning to try other items from their menu.

Yelp
I ordered the Home-Style Breakfast for $15.95, which comes with a choice of 1 meat (options include bacon, Portuguese sausage, sausage links, or house-cut ham), 2 eggs, rice or hash browns, and homemade toast (choices of Wheat, White, or Dark Rye). I chose the Portuguese sausage, and it came with 4 FAT, juicy pieces--I couldn't even finish them all. For the side, I went with the hash browns. They weren't the best I've had; I would've liked more crunch and crispiness, but they did give a very generous portion. For the toast, I picked the homemade Dark Rye, which was a small 1 1/2-piece serving, but it added nice variety to the plate. The toast was warm, buttery, and definitely tasted homemade. The plate didn't look like much, but it was surprisingly filling. Granted, I'm not that big of an eater, but I'd come back again to try some of their other dishes. The service was friendly, and there's a paid parking lot nearby. I went in at around 9 a.m. for breakfast. I didn't have to wait for a table, but it was already pretty crowded inside by then. They do have some benches and outdoor seating where you can chill while waiting for a table.

Yelp
Sadly not very good. The pancake was incredible but everything else was mediocre and it looks out over a parking lot. I wouldn't recommend it if you're visiting

Yelp
This is a cut little local cafe with aloha friendly staff. Sounds of laughter greeted me as I walked up the tall steps to the cafe. There is a patio outside and indoor dining room as well. Seating is limited so expect a wait during peak hours. I sat on the patio to enjoy the morning breeze. Chef Moke Warren started this small chain of local restaurants in 2004. Warren studied culinary arts locally at KCC. The cafe on 11th Street opened in 2018. The menu offers a mix of Hawaiian local favorites for breakfast. I ordered a Loco Moco. The portions are large. The gravy and eggs were so good and creamy. The beef patty is large atop all that wonderful rice. I couldn't finish it all! So good. Service was good. Water came immediately without asking. Food came out quickly and my sever checked on me several times. Portions are large and easily sharable. By the time I left there was a line to get in. There is an inexpensive public parking lot just south of the building. I did not see an elevator, that would make the restaurant handicapped accessible (but maybe they have one somewhere). Local, authentic and delicious.

Yelp
By the time you pay the scam towing you won't be able to afford breakfast There is a scam going on here and surrounding parking that waits till you leave your car to go to the restaurant then tows you to Honolulu Not only do you pay the Uber but then the tow company. It cost a total of $375 and no breakfast Avoid at all costs.

Cora L.

Yelp
Great local and convenient breakfast spot in Kaimuki! There is a big parking lot right outside of Moke's but the restaurant itself is not huge. There are a few tables so reservations might be a good idea, or else there will likely be a wait. The service is efficient but friendly. There are a variety of menu items but we chose the lilikoi pancakes and the li hing mango pancakes. These were both filling and sweet! We both were unable to finish our stack of 2 pancakes so we took the rest home. Next time, we hope to try some of the savory items!

Laura M.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try the Kailua location and never got a chance to. I happened to be in the area and noticed this location and headed there rather then to another restaurant. Just a staircase up you enter in a cute and friendly spot. It was busy but I got seated right away. I glanced at the menu and knew I wanted to try their veggie options. But I really wanted to try the lilikoi pancakes but didn't want the full order. My waiter came and I asked can I order one lilikoi pancake? He said absolutely! I was ecstatic. It didn't take too long and I got my order. Oh was it divine. So happy I bumped into this location and I will be back.

Yelp
This is our first time at Moke's Bread and Breakfast. And we love it! We walked up the stairs and right outside to the right side of the door, we saw a sign-in sheet to add our names on the waitlist but we didn't have to as this friendly looking person came and greeted us and took us to our table. He smiled. As we sat down, I noticed the cute wallpaper behind the counter, kids drawings on the wall as part of the decor and we found it nice and cute! The vibes seem very cozy and family friendly. We learned that our server is Kaleo. Super friendly and nice guy! I had their garlic rice with crispy bacon and 2 eggs. It was very garlickilicious! It's sooo good but I probably would need another scoop of white plain rice and mix it in. ;) My daughter had the 2 stack lilikoi pancakes. It was yummm! This is legit lilikoi flavor and would have it again and again! Hello Yelpers and friends. If you're reading my review, you should start heading for the door or add Moke's Bread and Breakfast to your next restaurant to visit! Thank you for reading my review. Have a beautiful day!

Adrien C.

Yelp
First, the service was phenomenal! Ambiance was very nice with a light breeze coming through the dining room. The the food was absolutely amazing Definitely recommend the lilikoi pancakes and stuffed hash browns... sooo good. Will definitely be back next time we're in town!

Yelp
First time eating here. I used Yelp to locate "best pancakes ". Moke's Bread and Breakfast was an option. Easy paid parking (credit or debit only) or street parking available to this location in Kaimuki. Walked up a flight of stairs and placed my name on the wait list. Approximately 15-20 minute estimate wait time was provided by the host. There is a waiting area located in the stairwell past the restaurant's entrance. The host will point it out for you. Great attentive staff here. Host Keola greeted us at the entrance and showed us the waiting area. He came to get us and showed us our table. The wait seemed short, as you perused the menu while waiting to be called into the restaurant. The interior is bright and has a cheerful ambiance. Lots of smiles on the employees. Our server Mahina was personable and informed us of the specials of the day. We placed our order and although the restaurant is full of patrons, the wait time is minimal. I observed a growing number of people waiting outside the restaurant. I selected the Sunrise Breakfast. The breakfast includes and two pancakes which I upgraded with Liliko'i sauce, scrambled eggs and Portuguese sausage. My hubby selected the corn beef hash, over easy eggs and garlic rice. Large serving sizes for both plates. Leftovers were taken home. Pancakes were light and fluffy, topped with the Liliko'i sauce and a dollop of whip cream. The Portuguese sausage is juicy and savory. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and not oily or salty. The corn beef hash is thick and meaty. Do not expect fillers here. Crisp on the outside and meaty on the inside. The garlic rice was on the oily side. Not my favorite. I think I would order hash browns next time. Sour dough toast was also selected. Very tasty bread. Coffee and water were refilled. The coffee is a special blend of Maui Estate and Wailua Estate coffee, hand roasted by Kailua Town. The coffee is on the strong side, however, it's not bitter. A non gender bathroom is available inside the restaurant, located towards the right of the kitchen. Food: 5/5 stars Service: 5/5 stars Ambiance: 4/5 stars (a bit crowded feeling and noisy when full)

Jess C.

Yelp
Basic breakfast place, unfortunately was not blown away by the Lilikoi pancakes as I thought I'd be (given I recently so much loved the ones at Guieb and Scratch). Wait was very long, service not very attentive. * Homestyle Breakfast $14.95 - 3 stars Bacon, portuguese sausage, sausage links, or house cut ham* Served with: Two eggs, rice, hash browns, or toast Home-made Toast: (Wheat, White, Dark Rye ) A very standard option, not particularly large in portion size for Hawaii standards. Liliko'i Pancakes 2/$14.95 | 3/$15.95 - 3 stars Our light and fluffy Pancakes topped with Amazing Passion Fruit Sauce. Truly light and fluffy, but prefer the denser texture at Scratch. Sauce was too sweet, did not use. Loco Moco - Special with Chorizo - $15.95 Served half half ground beef and chorizo Was too salty. Gravy was just OK.

Sammi L.

Yelp
I've come to Moke's a couple times on recent visits to see family in Honolulu, and my mom goes pretty often. One of our go-to's to meet up with friends/family. It can get busy on weekends, and even weekday lunches, but we never have to wait long for a table. Their outdoor waiting area is nice, and staff are always super friendly and attentive. Their breakfast foods are really solid - I always come back for the smoke ahi tuna melt, really hits the spot. So flavorful and filling without weighing me down. Great way to start the day :)

Minhchau N.

Yelp
Love this location. We usually go to the Kailua location but there's always a wait unless you get there right when they open. And parking can be difficult in Kailua bc it's street parking only. This location is within a paid parking lot but super easy and cheap. Came for breakfast Thursday morning around 9:30 and there was no wait. Our server Mahina was wonderful. Shortly after she sat us she asked if we wanted to get anything started for our toddler and if we wanted coffee. We really loved that our toddler was able to start eating fairly quickly after getting seated. She took our order after bringing us his food. The fact that our toddler was able to eat before he was hangry made our dining experience so great. I ordered the lilikoi pancakes and my husband ordered the loco Moke and a side of the cornbeef hash. Everything was delicious. My husband ate so fast I barely got a picture of his plate. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and I loved the lilikoi sauce it was the perfect sweet and tartness.

Brittany H.

Yelp
Bomb! Loco Moke with garlic rice and ribeye was 10/10. We ordered the ribeye medium rare and it was a perfect medium, not chewy, and it paired well with the garlic fried rice and gravy. Homestyle breakfast with Portuguese sausage, hashbrowns and sunny side up eggs was a perfect basic breakfast. Also 10/10. We will definitely be back to try the Lilikoi pancakes next time!

Valerie C.

Yelp
We were on a bit of a time crunch so had to order Togo and was surprised the pancakes were still piping hot! My sis and I ordered the lilikoi pancakes and banana pancakes. I absolutely love bananas so it was nice to taste pieces of bananas in the pancake. My sister said the lilikoi cream had a nice tartness to it but the pancakes were just regular pancakes. I hope I can try other things next time I'm in Hawaii!

Savannah S.

Yelp
Had the best loco moco here! Staff was super kind and somehow managed to get a group of 12 sat quickly without a reservation.

Lois I.

Yelp
Went to Moke's B & B .....ordered the Lilikoi Pancakes with the topping separate and the mahimahi sandwich. The pancakes were nice and huge, fluffy with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. The Lilikoi sauce was topped with whipped cream. The sauce was yummy and not too sweet. In retrospect, I think, I would have asked for the sauce on top. Because, the was only a bit of butter, the pancakes were dry....don't get me wrong...delicious anyway. My friend, ordered the mahi sandwich, which is her favorite.....looked yummy as well. The service was excellent and the waitress friendly and attentive. I would return, because of the great service. I felt the cozy nook was a bit noisy....but this place makes a nice gathering place.

Jaky Y.

Yelp
My new favorite spot for breakfast/brunch in Oahu! We parked in the open lot and made our way to Moke's. There was no line and we were seated immediately. We ordered the loco moco, lilikoi pancakes, a side of hash browns, and their mahi sandwich. Everything was awesome -- the pancakes were light and fluffy with delicious lilikoi sauce, the loco moco came with AWESOME garlic rice and delicious gravy, and the mahi sandwich was moist and flavorful. The one downside was the hashbrowns were a bit dry, but overall, the meal was delicious. Service was also so friendly and welcoming from start to finish. Overall a wonderful experience, we'll definitely be back!

Ivy M.

Yelp
Sunda mornin', We decided to head to Kaimuki for another one of our food adventures. Moke's came to mind! Parked our car in the pay lot and made our way up the stairs to add our name to the list. Kind of a long wait since we were there at 11am. Oh, was the wait worth it though. Got a great seat outside overlooking Kaimuki. We ordered Loco Mocos, Lilikoi pancakes, & their special of the summer, Mango pancakes. The Mango was very light. So we cut small pieces of the mango up & ate it with each bite. Superb. The Lilikoi punched us in our face with flavor & tang. Woo that was ono. But put those 2 together, Flavor Explosion! I highly recommend it! The Loco Moco was oh so fabulous! Delicious & Savory. Everything was made with love and it shows. We can't WAIT to go back again!

Leslene C.

Yelp
Been waiting a long time to try this place and it did not disappoint. We arrived after 9am and there was no line or wait, we were seated immediately. Cute place, not too big so I can see why there is a line. Our server was so nice and happy! He gave us his suggestions and it did not disappoint. We had the lilikoi pancakes and home made corn beef hash...the pancakes are so light and fluffy and the lilikoi sauce is amazing, not too tart and not too sweet! Corn beef hash with sunny side egg was so Ono, we sub the rice for fried rice and it was really good. The only downside is they don't have latte or fancy coffee drinks, but the server said he could do a iced coffee for me Definitely going back to try their other items!

Anika C.

Yelp
We had the Lilikoi Pancakes and a loco Moco with garlic rice. The pancakes were simply divine and Loco Moco was simply ridiculous! It was the best darn loco moco I have ever had in my entire life! No kidding! You have your choice of regular white rice, fried rice, or garlic rice. I recommend you get the garlic rice you won't regret it. The service was excellent, and the restaurant has a nice homey feel..

Mike C.

Yelp
Ummm so so good! Tried their hidden menu and it was so satisfying! Stop readying the reviews and just try it!

Sarah P.

Yelp
Found this little breakfast spot after a morning hike at Diamond Head. The restaurant has a cozy feel and offers a variety of homestyle breakfast items, from pancakes to local specialties such as the loco moco. You get great value for your money here as the menu is well priced, and the portions are large. You also get unlimited refills if you order coffee or tea. The service here is great. Our server was super friendly, and sociable. He knew the menu well, and checked up on us just enough to ensure our cups were always full. The restaurant doesn't appear to take reservations. When I arrived, I had to put my name down on the waiting list placed on a small table right by the entrance. We waited for approximately 15 minutes before we were seated.

Steve N.

Yelp
The lilikoi pancakes are delicious . The omelette with Portuguese sausage and mushrooms was very good as well! Highly recommended I would recommend making hash browns from scratch to elevate this meal to the next level. Moke's is an excellent spot for breakfast! Highly recommended

Mike Y.

Yelp
As usual we ordered the same thing Sunday morning on Mother's Day and again today my usual Vegetable Omelet and Lilikoi Pancakes You can never go wrong ordering anything from Moke's menu ample parking if you come early we can eat here weekly and everyday

Wenz T.

Yelp
Just discovered a neighborhood gem. It's been here for quite some time, but haven't tried it as there is always a long line (SO popular). OMG, regretting not trying this place sooner. Very yummy and reasonably price for the amount of food. Everything we ordered was delicious. We did take out, pick up was easy, fast and great customer service. The restaurant its self was quaint and beautifully decorated, calming atmosphere to enjoy your meal.

John S.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast every time! This place harbors the finest, most knowledgable, professional, and polite employees. Noting that, although there isn't a view, I do enjoy sitting outside over inside even when it is raining (rain in Hawaii is magical anyway), but it is mostly bar type seating - so you need to like that, right off the bat.

Samantha L.

Yelp
really great breakfast spot, we ordered the loco moco w steak- so nicely cooked, with garlic rice (definitely recommend) but it was definitely on the salty side. also got the breakfast special with lilikoi pancakes and portuguese sausage. it's a smaller portion than their full pancake but it was the perfect amount of pancake for me!

Antoinette S.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning after hitting up the farmers market. Surprisingly the wait was less than 10 minutes for just the 2 of us! Located in the same parking lot as Kokohead Cafe (our other fave breakfast spot), it's right across the way up on the second floor (easy to spot from the parking lot). We were sat outside on the lanai, at a bar type counter and the weather was perfect to accommodate us. Our server explained the menu as first timers (make sure to ask for the secret menu items!) and was attentive for our entire dining experience. I opted for an omelette with fried rice, my boyfriend got the breakfast plate with eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. And we shared the lilikoi pancakes. The omelette was great! Generously filled with Portuguese sausage, cheese and other stuff that my currently pregnant brain can't remember. lol but it was good! The friend rice had good flavor and wasn't too oily! The lilikoi pancakes were the winner! Fluffy with a tasteful batter (I could eat the pancakes alone with no sauce!), topped with a not to sweet lilikoi sauce. SO GOOD. The double stack was enough for us to share and even had some left over to bring home (served as a great snack the next day!) Overall, we're coming back (even if it's just for those pancakes)!

Gary C.

Yelp
If you're willing to wait, this place is worth it. the food is pretty good. I got the lilikoi pancakes, the jeff, and the Loco Moke. The lilikoi pancakes is super sweet- good if you have a sweet tooth The jeff- stuffed hash browns slathered in gravy. The loco Moke - its a ribeye loco moco, gravy is good. however you like youre steak ask for one level down, it will cook because of the hot gravy.

Tessa R.

Yelp
So happy they are open on Tuesdays now. Came around 10:00 and it was getting busy. We ordered the traditional loco moco. I forgot to ask for fried rice so it came with white rice which was still very good. I loved that everything was very temperature hot fresh off the grill. Makes everything taste so much better! Also ordered the "special of the day" pancake which was vanilla syrup with li hing mui powder and whipped cream. WOW IT WAS AMAZING! Their pancakes are so fluffy and absolutely perfection. The vanilla syrup was not sweet at all and the hints of Lin hing mui flavor all together was just delicious. You must order these if it's available. ***It would be better if they put syrup in between each pancake as we didn't think it had enough. I had to order more syrup which was an extra charge. Wasn't too thrilled about that. They only have hot coffee or iced coffee. No fancy lattes or cappuccinos. However, the iced coffee was great!

Yelp
TL;DR The Jeff / DJ Jazzy Jeff (secret menu items) = ONO Liliko'i Pancakes = ONO Moke Nui Omelet = ONO ----- For a while I was convinced that no place would be able to top Cafe Kaila as my favorite brunch spot in town. However, after several visits to Moke's, I'm now questioning my view. Moke's menu is a bit more limited, but the food here really competes in terms of quality and affordability. Additionally, the wait time is typically much shorter than Kaila's, which is a significant advantage. My favorite here is the DJ Jazzy Jeff, which is a secret menu item. It's hash browns stuffed with the philly cheesesteak ingredients, topped with two eggs, gravy all over, and a side of fried rice. Absolutely killer. For the past several visits I have not deviated from this order. It's just so damn good. I've also very much enjoyed the omelets and The Jeff, which is the hash browns stuffed with the Moke Nui omelet ingredients. The liliko'i pancakes are also to die for. The "amazing passion fruit sauce" (their words, not mine) is divine. Not too overpowering nor too sweet. Perfect. I love this place. Can I crown it my favorite brunch spot? I'm not so sure. But it's certainly top three. And not three.

Yelp
One of the best pancakes I've ever had! We shared the short stack of lilikoi and a loco Moke. I got the POG to drink and she opted for Moke's coffee. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and had the best flavor. The loco Moke was a twist on the loco moco- it had their house-cut ribeye instead of a hamburger patty. The eggs and gravy were great. The ribeye was a bit tough for me though. Service was kind of slow. It took over twenty minutes to get our food and it wasn't that busy. Overall, I still had a nice time here and would love to get their lilikoi pancakes again.

Yelp
Came here after a hike at Diamond head and the crowd wasn't too busy. Got seated pretty quickly after signing in. The server was very quick and attentive. We ordered the corn beef hash and the breakfast special. They got my eggs wrong but gave me my eggs and let me keep the scrambled the fried rice upgrade was worth it. The vibe was nice and seemed like a chill place to go to for brunch. And all in all the price wasn't too high.

Yelp
-- location -- second floor of the building. You can enter from either the street or parking lot (paid parking lot) -- parking -- meter or paid parking lot. We got a meter and stayed about 1.5 hours. -- menu -- breakfast and lunch items. You get your classic items and more Hawaiian style items. We got pog and coffee and waters. The loco moco was plentiful with a large bed of rice. The French toast was super thick. It was otherwise a standard French toast. The side of honey biscuits was unfortunately a disappointment. It was dry and didn't have much flavor. The pancakes with lilikoi sauce was good. I think it was just enough sauce. A small bit of syrup/honey would have been nice because I ended up dipping in the syrup the French toast came with. -- service -- very good. They were attentive, sweet, and always filled out drinks. -- overall -- good spot. I liked the pog a lot. The pancakes and the loco moco would be my top picks. The ambiance is very nice too. Love the outdoor plants. The bathroom was huge for one stall lol.

Yelp
Quaint little brunch place in Kaimuki, above Subway. We stumbled upon this place when the wait at a near by eatery was long. Always fun to try a new place. Great service. Big servings and tasty food. Upgrade to the fried rice. My partner got the loco moco and enjoyed it. He eats a lot of loco moco and theirs got a compliment. Huge parking lot right outside. Clipboard to sign in when there is a wait. They have a single restroom in the back.

Yelp
We decided to check out Moke's after reading several positive reviews about the place. All-in-all, it was a good experience. We went on a Friday morning and had to wait about 20 mins for a table. It's not a very big restaurant so be prepared to get cozy with the other tables around you. The food was good. My partner and I both got the Loco Moco with fried rice. This was a solid presentation of a classic dish. Service was friendly and prompt. Note: there is paid parking, but it's not expensive. It was $3 for the duration of our meal.

Yelp
Moke's Breakfast in Kaimuki is where my morning turned into an epic food brunch! I mean, imagine pancakes so fluffy they could moonlight as clouds and eggs cooked to perfection. Every bite was like a joyful high-five from the breakfast gods. If you're looking to kickstart your day with a side of adventure (and seriously amazing food), Moke's is the place to be.

Yelp
The food was very good especially the pancakes which I would recommend to everyone. The one star taken away was due to slow coffee refills. Also, the service was a bit slow.

Yelp
As you can see in my reviews on other places, I don't leave a review at all if I didn't enjoy the food;however, when the service is not great, it just ruins the whole experience, and I had to say something so that this individual would perhaps act more professionally 1. My husband received a cup of water with lipstick mark on, so he asked for the replacement - the waitress didn't say anything (not even a sorry) then brought out another cup of water - but facial expression shows eveything - she seemed annoyed by this. 2. The dishes came out, and I asked for a hot sauce, she brought out small packages of hot sauces when other tables had a bottle of hot sauce - what made me upset is that she asked the people who were sitting right next to us, asking if they wanted any hot sauce, even asked what kind they wanted . 3. My toasts came out - no offer of any condiments again like butter or jam...at that point, I wasnt enjoying my brunch anymore so i didn't say anything, I wanted to leave the restaurant as soon as possible. 4. My husband and I are generous tippers (bare minimum 20% because we know island life is expensive !) but we left with 18% tip - we saw her multiple times, checking other people's checks on the table after they had left, so although her service was subpar, didn't want to make her day even worse, so we left it at that. Perhaps, she was having a bad day, but still, for people like me (working mom - I have an infant), going out for a brunch is a rare treat, and I'm sad I didn't get to really enjoy this place /experience. Please keep customers in mind next time.

Yelp
I've said it before, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I take what I put into my stomach to start my day, pretty seriously! My hubby and I had been here for breakfast the week before and sat outside. Weather was perfect, breezy and sunny and it wasn't too crowded at 7:30. He had the steak and eggs, and I wanted to try something different so ordered the chorizo tacos. He was very happy with his brekkie, and ate it all! My tacos were pretty tasty as well, hash browns the perfect crisp. Fast forward a week, and my daughter and I had some dr appointments in the morning and were rushing around with no time to eat breakfast. Around 10:00, we were both pretty hungry, and she also wanted something sweet. Made it to Moke's in time for pancakes, and also treated to a delicious blueberry muffin. So delicious with the whipped butter. So glad we live in Kaimuki and can make this a regular place!

Yelp
Great place! Amazing food, I ordered the loco moco and it was great. The highlight were the pancakes with the amazing passion fruit sauce. The pancakes were very light and fluffy. I know people may say pancakes are light and fluffy but after eating these pancakes you don't leave feeling like there's a stack of pancakes in your tummy! Our server was very knowledgeable of the dishes we ordered and was very attentive. Highly recommend the place!!
