This spot just opened up down the block from me and I’ve been looking forward to trying it (and writing a review!). I visited with a group of friends for dinner over the weekend.
From the moment we walked in to the restaurant the service was attentive. The hostess immediately showed us to our table and offered to hang our coats downstairs. The waiter quickly brought us menus and offered to take our drinks order while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive.
The space is well designed and comfortable, perfect for a date or casual meal with a group of friends. Although the restaurant filled while we were there, it did not feel cramped and it was easy to hear everyone at the table. The ceilings are high, and the walls are filled with plants on one side and a beautiful piece of lightly-colored modern art on the other. It feels energizing and relaxed at the same time.
The menu has a wide selection of small plates and larger dishes, with plenty of delicious vegetarian options. My boyfriend and I chose to order 3 small dishes and two appetizers to share and that was plenty of food. The tuna tartare and curried cauliflower were especially delicious.
A couple small blips: first, the waiter forgot to note our order of two appetizers. All our friends’ food arrived and we asked where ours was. He apologized and brought the remaining food pretty quickly. Another source of confusion is the menu on the website. The website posts breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, although the restaurant currently is only open for dinner. I understand that they are working to open for all these meals, but to avert confusion and disappointment this should probably be removed from the website. It looks better for a new restaurant to underpromise and over deliver than vice versa. It seems like it will also be a great spot for brunch or coffee and pastries, so from my own selfish perspective I hope they open more hours soon.
We look forward to having this place as a local stand in. Next time we’ll definitely be trying the desserts, which all looked amazing!
