I had first heard about/seen Mokuyobi when Nordstrom had briefly carried their items, specifically their little dragonfruit, watermelon, and citrus fanny packs (fellow Yelper Winnie L. has a great photo of what I'm referencing). So it was quite a nice surprise to see a storefront for Mokuyobi at the end (or entrance, depending on which way you're entering) of Little Tokyo. Since Teej had never heard of the brand before (and we're both a fan of tiny little bags), we decided to stop by to take a look.
Mokuyobi's interior is not only perfect for those who like to take photos for their social media but it's also really reflective of the brand itself, which is nostalgically retro (think Saved by the Bell) and full of fun, colorful prints and designs. The only slight downside is that their items are pretty pricey which I believe is due to the fact that they are locally made in L.A., but if you are willing and/or able to purchase, Mokuyobi definitely has some stand out pieces that will be sure to wow.
Overall, I would recommend stopping by and visiting Mokuyobi. Even though Teej and I didn't purchase anything and just browsed, the employees did not get upset or tried to hassle us into purchasing items. The store is is neatly organized and definitely a must for those who love to live their life in color.
