John did a fantastic job fixing up our bathroom after a mold issue. He was professional, thorough, and went above and beyond — even taking the time to clean our exhaust fan, which we didn’t expect! Jon came and inspected the area and told me it would be wise to invest in a dehumidifier, which I did. Jon got back to me 2 days later with an estimate and we went on to have the work done. The gentlemen did a great job, unfortunately it unearthed another problem we are going to need fixed sooner rather than later, but isn't that how most projects work? I think the price we paid for the work that was done SAFELY was more than fair. Nothing else was added to our invoice and everything is cleaned up for us to proceed with what needs to be done next. I cannot say enough good things about this company! I'm an extremely mold sensitive person with autoimmune issues. To say I needed a company that understood my concerns is an understatement. I had interviewed 4 other companies before I found these guys. None of the other companies put my fears to rest. I asked a thousand questions which did not deter Jon Gordon in the least. He could not have been nicer or more professional. The customer service was incredible! In addition, John Thomas, the lead foreman on my project, was FANTASTIC!! He went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I felt comfortable with the process. His skill and attention to detail was impeccable. I even had a certified industrial hygienist check John and his team's work and the hygienist was impressed. He said it was the best "containment" he had seen in his entire career. The next day (Jay?) came out, did a full inspection and found no evidence of any mold. They say you shouldn't use the remediation company for testing but I had used Moldgone in the past and know I could trust them. Having a basement issue I wanted to ensure my family's safety and test for mold. I called moldgone. They took 5 sample as per my request and reported no mold no remediation needed. Thanks Jay (great guy) for your honesty, integrity, and guidance.

Met with Kevin on 06/18/205 at Clinton, MD home to assess mold remediation and restoration repair work. Former resident of home had been evicted and left home in disrepair (see photos). Kevin discussed removal of carpet, paneling, ceiling tiles, lighting/electrical etc.Quote breakdown was detailed, and all my follow-up questions were promptly addressed by Kevin. Quote was reasonable but higher than my out-of-pocket budget since work is not covered by insurance. Review is for business' customer service.

Thankfully I found this company on YELP. I needed basement water damage fixed after another company did a poor job. Excellent company 10+ very pleased with their work. Very knowledgeable and explains everything in detail. Jay was very helpful with insurance adjuster's questions and very reasonable estimate. Technicians Curtis and Henry were on time and explained what would happen each day, excellent customer service and they even wiped down the walls and floor when everything was done. They came prepared to get the job done quickly, efficiently and most importantly correctly! I will recommend this company to everyone. Lesson learned don't let the insurance company choose your contractor find one on YELP!

MoldGone came out to provide a mold inspection. They were very responsive and flexible, and came out to provide the inspection as soon as we reached out. They arrived exactly on time, and were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They conducted the inspection thoroughly but in a time efficient manner, and were straightforward in describing each step and what their results were. We were very happy with the service and would definitely use them again and recommend them to others!

MoldGone did a great job scraping, painting, spot treating, air scrubbing and then re-testing our house. They were thoughtful, efficient, hardworking and communicative. It was easy to schedule. Jay was very thorough and got us all the paperwork we wanted. I would definitely use them again and thankfully won't need to because they did such a good job!

I highly recommend MoldGone. They went above and beyond in their remediation services and helped us through a tough spot. We had a nightmare situation with a pipe backup in a basement, and the whole project seemed overwhelming. They provided a very detailed estimate. It was expensive, but fair because it was a LOT of work, and the quality of the work, along with the excellent customer service made it worth it. They also worked with us through difficult scheduling issues and cramped conditions with crawlspace, etc. They even threw in additional service at no cost. Plus, they were friendly and informative throughout the project, walking us through it the entire way. The work included removing a lot of drywall, removing shower tiling, removing carpet, cleaning and sanitizing the area, running air purifiers, painting the affected areas with a mold-resistant coating, and more. When needed, they had the information ready and organized for the insurance. They were also awesome in that they broke down the estimates into separate categories for us, remediation and reconstruction. If we were able to afford the reconstruction part with them, we would have. But I appreciated that they were willing to still do the remediation. And the way they removed the drywall made it easier to replace. I am really grateful to have found them. I honestly don't know what we would have done if we hadn't. Hopefully, we won't need any more remediation in the future. But if we do, we'll call MoldGone without hesitation.

One of my best experiences with contractors. They responded super promptly to my request, then sent two guys (Jason and Johnny) to check some areas for mold. They came on time, first explained what they were going to do, did the work, and afterwards once again walked me through exactly what they had done. They also gave some great tips on mold prevention, and took the time to answer a bunch of other questions I had once I realized they really know construction too. Super friendly guys.

Efficient, thorough, honest, and friendly. We had a mold problem in our HVAC room/basement. We fixed the source, but needed some mold remediation done in the basement. Getting the quote was fast and easy. We then did some surface repair through another approach and saved up for the more extensive work through MoldGone. When I contacted them again several months after the initial quote, they let me know it would be the same price and we got scheduled within a week. They fixed the issue and replaced the drywall, taking pictures throughout the whole process to show us everything. The team on-site was fantastic and thorough, and they seem to have done a great job. I feel very confident with their work. Hopefully we won't have a need to call them again, but if we ever have any other mold issues, I will definitely be calling them!

We have an attic that had a mold problem a month ago that needed treating and sealing, but it is not easily walkable which made a few other companies decide against it. These guys took care of it quickly and safely.

I've used Moldgone for testing and recently crawlspace encapsulation. They prepped my crawlspace, encapsulated, insulated and installed a dehumidifier. The whole team is really wonderful, from the inspection to installation. Mike, Jay and John are great to work with; good communication, on time, professional and friendly. Their pricing was fair and I'm very happy with the work. I would definitely recommend them.

Excellent customer service, from estimate appointment scheduling to inspection. Jon was responsive over email, flexible to fit his visit within my schedule, and showed up masked. He was very pleasant and respectful, wearing shoe booties to prevent tracking in any dirt into my home. He carefully inspected my areas of concern, reassuring me that a mold issue was unlikely. He even went further to inspect common areas of trouble I hadn't thought. Where there was minor mold in the bathroom, he assured me it was cosmetic and provided a recommendation for a mold resistant paint. All in all, no major mold issue was found, nor did he charge for any part of the inspection. I hope that day never arrives when I do encounter a mold issue, but if I do, I will gladly give Moldgone a call and recommend to others.

Having just bought a house I've been dealing with contractors left and right. Many companies do everything they can to rip you off, waste your time, and lie. MoldGone is not that kind of company. They came in and assessed what was wrong, made a clear plan of action, explaining things patiently and thoughtfully throughout, and when a part of the original agreement changed (due to another contractors work) they went above and beyond not to make a buck but to make me happy! They are HONEST which is a rare quality and I am incredibly grateful to them for not taking advantage of me and working with me. They do what they say and leave you with quality work at a reasonable cost. I can not recommend them enough.

They were very professional and knowledgeable about potential mold in my Townhome. They didn't try to up sell their services and even saved us money by recommending to not perform testing, which we originally requested, due to the location of the testing. Most of the companies we requested bids from tried to get us to do testing in locations not needed. I would 100% recommend hiring them.

They came out for a consultation on mold my home inspector had identified. In about 30 seconds they were able to identify the mold, the cause, and provided a DIY solution. ServiceMaster would have burned my house down to get rid of the mold and charged me $10,000 to do it. I'm very grateful MoldGone was honest about how to mitigate the mold, provide in-depth knowledge on mold and my basement, and then charge me HALF of their usual fee because it was such an easy visit! Great company. I will recommend to everyone I can.

I wish I had the same experience as the other reviewers, but I was blown off by the contractor several times. It took a long time to get quotes and he told me he was going to have someone look at my roof a few times and never came or followed up. I feel my time was wasted.

Mike just finished checking my home for mold and spent time explaining how to spot mold and prevent it moving forward. Luckily he only found one small spot in my basement with mold and give me great information on how to handle the situation myself. Short version: Jay from moldgone came by looked at our issue, addressed our fears and concerns, gave us some very simple DIY remediation tips and didn't charge us a dime. Excellent and honest customer service. I can see why they are so highly rated. The longer version: We recently had a pipe burst in the wall because of a quick connect fittings going to an external hose bib. Even with the supply valve shut off water continued to trickle I to the wall cavity because of a bad shutoff. By the time we had a plumber come out to solve the root cause we had a substantial amount of moisture in the wall. We ran blower fans and a dehumidifier and called MoldGone because of the positive reviews. Jay stopped by and took a look, noted that there was a very minimal amount of mold that could easily be addressed with household products and a dehumidifier and gave us confidence that there wasn't cause for concern. He also walked us through the rationale and all the key things he was looking for in his assessment. He clearly knew what he was talking about and was friendly/professional. Wouldn't hesitate to give MoldGone another call if we run into any water damage remediation issues.

I am renovating my house, and unfortunately, a bunch of water entered the house during the past few months. My architect said I need a mold inspection. Mold Gone reviewed well so I gave them a call. I organized the visit with Mike and it was Jay that came out from MoldGone to give the inspection. He listened and really gave a thoughtful analysis. I would have happily paid for the inspection, although it was free!

The MoldGone rep, Jay, arrived at my house during the scheduled time. He walked around to the rooms that had a concerning smell and listened to my concerns. He was honest and said he doesn't see signs or smell of mold or mildew. He said he doesn't think we have any mold issues and doesn't feel we need to pay for further testing at this time. He told me what to look for and gave me recommendations to reduce the moisture in my home. I really appreciated his honesty and that he didn't try to sell me mold testing that I don't need. I am very impressed with this company and will certainly contact them again if any future issues arise. Thank you!

Jon and his team came out after we found some mold in our basement. They were efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Not only did they fix all the trouble areas, they even discovered a few other issues with our basement and helped me think through options to fix (fixing gutters etc) They were so responsive and even came out (at no cost) when I had follow up questions. Their pricing was very reasonable and definitely felt this is a honest and trustworthy company that stands by their work. One of the best companies I have worked with since moving to VA. Mike M. came out to do a visual inspection of our condo building's hallway vent b/c it has some black mold spores all over it (thankfully, he diagnosed that the mold was just topical and not severe). He was very professional, not only in explaining his assessment, but also in sending me the diagnosis in writing afterwards so that I could present his recommendations to our condo board for next steps. This initial inspection was at no charge which made things so easy and he was able to come out within days of my first inquiry. Highly recommend and I would definitely call MoldGone for any future mold issues.

I didn't end up using their services, yet, but I wanted to comment on how positive it was communicating and dealing with Jon from MoldGone. He was very responsive over email answering questions and scheduling and came out within a week of me calling. He was then on time and ready to go at the appointed time, with his mask on. He was quick looking at the issue, but clearly knew his stuff and identified what he believed to be the issue, and didn't charge me a dime for his time and opinion. He even told me that since my wall having water issues is plaster, it was unlikely that it would lead to a mold issue that would be of concern for our health in the home. That was certainly reassuring! I would definitely recommend working with MoldGone and Jon in the future.

This company is very unreliable - I scheduled a consultation with Mike and he never showed up, nor returned my phone calls. I re-arranged my schedule to ensure I would be available for the time we agreed to - it was a huge inconvenience that he did not show up. If this is how he treats prospective clients, I can only imagine how bad the customer service would be for an actual client. There are many other companies that are reliable and will show up when they say they will. Do NOT use this company.

Very few companies run a business the way Joe does, with the client first. There was a small miscommunication on my job (I was very concerned moving into a new home with a mold issue and my first baby on the way), and Joe personally came out the next day and made it right. I don't usually write reviews but this company deserves a shout-out. They came out next day and inspected the vents where I suspected mold to be growing. It looked to be only on the outer vent grates due to AC condensation on old covers. They instructed me on the most cost effective way to easily fix the issue myself. They even recommended a company to do duct cleaning if needed in the future. All this at no charge. Thank you MoldGone, appreciate the honesty!!

I'm giving them five stars because above all else, they delivered quality work as promised and were very professional and informative throughout the process. Furthermore, prior to the actual mold remediation work they were quite responsive to my email communications and flexible when I wanted to alter the services I was originally quoted. Their pricing is fair and competitive overall , although I opted to have the restoration work done independently - as it was only half the price of what Mold Gone quoted. Nevertheless, their quote was not unreasonable, all things considered.

Mike came to our house for a mold check. We have had issues with a musty smelling basement ever since this past rainy fall. The smell would come back every time it rained. We have only owned the home for two years, so we don't know all of its history. Mike has a lot of expertise and was able to confirm we didn't have any topical mold. He also confirmed that the previous owner did put in place checks to prevent flooding and standing water. The main problem was high humidity when it rains, which would cause mold spores. His suggestion was to first run a dehumidifier to keep the humidity in check, which we will do. He also suggested an air duct cleaning may help. I would highly recommend MoldGone. Good communication and expertise.

They were able to schedule relatively quick and Kevin and Jacob showed up, explained the plan and were able to take care of things in a few hours. Kevin even inspected another area just to be sure no issues were there. They sealed everything up and cleaned up when the job was done. I recently had a major issue with my condo's HVAC closet which had drywall water damage and potential mold growth. Remediating and replacing the drywall necessitated the need to temporarily remove the HVAC heat pump and hot water heater which would make their services unavailable during the remediation andrepair. After doing a lot of online research and receiving multiple bids, I concluded that Mold Gone was the only company willing to do not only remediation, but the extensive HVAC closet restoration which was important in order to get the HVAC and water heater quickly installed and back online. And considering the extent and complexity of the effort, their bid seemed very reasonable. Jason and his crew were punctual, highly professional, and took the extra effort to seal all the ventilation duct leaks which were a secondary contributing factor leading to high humidity levels during the summer months. They did an excellent job! Mold Gone is a local small business with a well deserved reputation which I would highly recommend.

Had a kitchen sink leak that left stains below on the garage ceiling below. Also, had a garage water spigot malfunction. I called Mold Gone due to the great reviews it got. Two days later, Jon Gordon, from Mold Gone came out between the hours they told me and inspected my garage walls and ceiling to make sure moisture level were within range. He explained everything to me and was very helpful. I did not need any repairs, it was just cosmetic issues with the drywall (water stains). The quick check was 5 minutes and he did not charge me a fee at all! This is pretty honest for repair companies these days. Most will charge at least $50 for a home visit. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone I know that may need their services.
