Phoenix’s 17 Iconic Dishes

"Mole is relatively easy to come by in Phoenix, but it’s a hard dish to do well. Often dry or overpowering, few restaurants capture the true essence of the sauce. Where better to be blessed by proper mole than a restaurant dedicated to traditional Oaxacan cuisine? A blend of over twenty ingredients, mole includes dried chilies, nuts, and spices with just a hint of chocolate, resulting in a dark, velvety sauce that balances sweetness with subtle heat. The dish is served over a tender quarter chicken and a dollop of rice." - Mcconnell Quinn

Outstanding dining in Zihuatanejo. We’ve been going to Mole since they opened in 2022. Breakfasts & lunches are great. Home made bread and pastries too. Weekend pasta dinners are the best in town. Pasta literally made fresh to order, including lasagna. Salads are delicious, especially the Beet salad and tomato cáprese. Daily specials are to die for. I had the lobster fettuccine tonight - lobster was tender and cooked perfectly. Save room for dessert because they are all great. Service is spectacular too! These guys are the real deal! There’s no other restaurant like Mole Negro in Zihuatanejo.

Absolutely top flite. Best restaurant in Zihua if you ask me. Breakfast is great as are the dinners (Fri, Sat and Sunday). Dinners are Italian themed. Everything here is made with love and care. The owners, Isaac and Eduardo, are great guys and make everyone feel welcome and like a regular. Highly recommended!

Better than we imagined. Gracias for the great food and warm welcome. Real maple syrup on the specialty French toast! Bacon was cooked perfectly. Chia bowl was amazing and the best latte ever. We will be back.

Really excellent food and very friendly service! Would highly recommend stopping here after you land as it is located close to the airport. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed eating here and meeting everyone that helped make our experience great.

One of the best chef in the city runs this place. Creative cuisine mixing new and old. Always great flavours and smells coming from their open kitchen. Friendly staff too. Was primarily a breakfast/lunch place but now has started limited options dinners on weekend and they do homemade pasta. Had their Fettuccini carbonara with shrimps and friend had their lasagna. Both were amazing!!! It is more expensive than most popular places with locals but worth it. Only minus is the location as they are on the canal street so you may be seated at an outdoor table with cars/motorcycles going by and sometimes not the best smell. But the food and service makes up for these issues...

Excellent lunch. We didn’t realize it was primarily a breakfast place but there were several tortas / sandwiches on the menu including the daily special. We ended up having a delicious torta special (some kind of shredded seasoned pork, maybe cochinita, avocado, cheese on grilled sourdough), and the French toast. I am not usually a French toast fan but this would convert me. The sandwich was huge and we took half home for dinner. The unsweetened lime ginger was also a nice treat. Can’t wait to go back.

We’ve enjoyed their breakfasts . The mole chiliquiles and French toast are delicious . It’s a don’t miss in Zihua . We recently tried their dinner service . The beet salad and the evening special of lasagne were wonderful . We’ve spent a lot of time in Italy . The pasta and sauce was spot on . Well done. Don’t miss this gem of Zihuatanejo . We will be back often .

This is a great little restaurant away from the main tourist area. The French toast is amazing! Vegetarians will want to ask them to hold the bacon that isn't listed on the menu for the French toast. I also had the Huitlacoche omelette that was yummy but a little bland. My partner had the Enmolados which were good. I loved the service and the food will bring me back here for sure.
