The Best Teriyaki in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This small Capitol Hill storefront is a shining example of quintessential Seattle teriyaki—delicious, accessible, and consistent. Usual suspects on the menu like chicken and beef teriyaki have been feeding the neighborhood for years, and it’s easy to see why regulars keep coming back for Moli’s affordably priced plates. Moli’s interior is also gently flooded with natural light thanks to walls of windows, providing customers with the perfect place for both a bite and respite." - Joey Carreon

Google
Ordered the chicken teriyaki for takeout at lunch, the food was fantastic! The man at the counter was friendly and had my order ready in less than 5 minutes. Inside is not anything fancy, but clean and cozy. I can definitely see myself bringing a friend or two here for a meal and good conversation in the future.

Google
This is my favorite place for lunch on the hill (maybe the whole city). The owner is super kind and the food is awesome and reasonably priced. I usually get the teriyaki combo and can eat the whole thing without needing to nap after, so you know it’s quality. You Can’t ask for much more for a meal less than $15! I consider myself a regular

Google
Tasty teriyaki, counter service with seating available. There is usually a lunch special.

Google
Popped in for dinner - the restaurant is super quaint and run very well! We arrived 30 mins before closing and decided to dine in, and promised to leave upon the hour, but the owner said it was ok if we stayed a little late. Super tasty side salad and the teriyaki chicken was super flavorful!!! Drinks/canned sodas on the side of the cash register. Took about 10 mins to get our food & you could tell it was a popular spot even near closing since 4 other people came in for their to-go orders! Will have to come back and try something new next time!

Google
The worst teriyaki in Seattle. The chicken was grilled at some point and when you order it's reheated in a frying pan. Dry and a small portion. I suspect this place is only in business because it's by a hospital. No hot sauce available!?

Google
Spicy chicken teriyaki take out was quick and delicious.

Google
Really cute place with great food and it's a lot more affordable than anything else around here!!

Google
Tasty Asian food that was unlike other places, felt homemade and was nicely grilled.

Yelp
Great spot for tasty teriyaki and quick service! I really enjoyed my chicken teriyaki plate, and the leftovers tasted good for dinner as well. Comparison of chicken teriyaki plate here vs. Teriyaki Madness which is down the street: - $4 cheaper, but there is less food, so about the same value - Chicken is more dry - Teriyaki sauce is more liquidy than viscous - Salad dressing is already poured onto the salad for you This was a small and cute spot with a lot of natural light to sit and enjoy your meal :)

Yelp
Consistently great. Friendly people. Love coming here. I usually get the chicken teriyaki - but have tried a few other dishes

Yelp
After a visit to Urgent Care at Kaiser, this stop was close and convenient. It's right next door to the far north wing of the Kaiser complex, where the eye care building is. The food was great, warm and tasty. I appreciated finding this spot after a rough

Yelp
This is what a good teriyaki restaurant is like! It has all the classic teriyaki chicken and yakisoba noodles. The noodles are nice and chewy without it being overcooked or sat around took long. I ordered the vegetable and tofu one and it came with standard vegetables and a nice amount of fried tofu. The service was good, I ordered for it to go and it was pretty quick and the owner was friendly. The place itself was clean and organized.

Yelp
Probably the worst teriyaki chicken and yakisoba I've had in years. Chicken was so dry and yakisoba seemed like top ramen with small portion. I wouldn't go back. 2 stars because the service was decent.

Yelp
Just a little space perfect for neighborhood teriyaki. Made to order, got the spicy chicken teriyaki and was very pleased at the level of spice. Flavor was there and I was absolutely stuffed after finishing it all. Found my new go to teriyaki joint.

Yelp
I used to go to this spot quite a bit before COVID, the food was solid, nothing amazing, but fairly priced and fast. I won't go there anymore but I gave them three stars because I don't want to make it seem like the food is bad or anything. The problem is that I've walked by daily for months and they don't care about COVID. They let customers dine inside during lockdown and just today I walked by and the owner was serving people without a mask. Convinced me to write this review. Come on man, put a mask on.

Yelp
Delicious tempura was very tasty and satisfying. It came with large cuts of vegetables and shrimp. Fast, friendly, and fresh. It doesn't get much better than that! I wish they were open more often.

Yelp
Very good price and a quality meal next to GroupHealth. I stopped by Moli late at night and ordered Shrimp Katsu with Chicken Teriyaki Combo Bento set. The cost came to just ~$8. They also have different combos of basic teriyaki/bento stuff like Gyoza, Yakisoba, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, etc. What I like about this place was that they actually cooked my food fresh as soon as I ordered. I knew because I actually had to wait about 10 min before I got my food (which I'm not complaining at all!). Maybe this is because I stopped by late at night so they didn't have any more leftover (typically at these types of bento places I sort of expect the food to be pre-cooked/made). My food was hot (not at a room temperature), so I liked it a lot. The vegetables that made up the salad was fresh and satisfying. I also noticed their rice was not the typical Japanese, stickier round rice but rather the oval one (more of a southeast Asian type of rice). This is the type of rice I enjoy eating the most as well. Moli Bento is clean and organized and not just your typical hectic, bento place (well, I never noticed how busy it is during day time anyway). I will definitely stop by here for a quick meal again.

Yelp
Had the C-5 which is one of their most popular plates. The chicken, rice, potstickers was amazing. The guy was super nice and for $9 you get a big bowl of everything plus any soda. Super convenient and super sweet people, and the food is amazing!

Yelp
Great place, my go to terriyaki spot near home. I usually get the chicken and pork combo and it is always delicious. The portions are plentiful and the prices are low, what more can you ask for?

Yelp
I live really close to this place, and I usually love a hole-in-the-wall so you can imagine my excitement to try this place. I got the spicy teriyaki, and it was really disappointing. There wasn't a ton of flavor like teriyaki should have, and what was there wasn't quite working. Unfortunately not going to become a go-to spot...

Sarah N.

Yelp
Cheap, easy , fast, good quality, friendly. It's what you need for a quick teriyaki pick up. I recommend the spicy chicken breast bowl.

Yelp
I recently started working up on Capitol Hill. There are not a whole lot of places to eat near my work, which sucks because 1.) It's always fun to go out to lunch & 2.) Not a lot of Happy Hour choices! After several weeks of frozen Lean Cuisines (terrible, I know), I finally decided to try somewhere new. Boy, am I glad that I did! Moli Bento is a small place, but there are tables in there so you can dine in, if you'd like. I got my food to go though. I decided to order the Super Combination. You can order it with chicken or beef. I ordered it with chicken, with the sauce on the side. (I prefer the sauce on the side so I can dip the chicken, vs having it swimming around in the sauce.) The Super Combo comes with salad (dressing on the side - nice), 2 deep fried pot stickers, a spring roll, your choice of chicken or beef as mentioned before, and (as usual with Teriyaki places) way too much rice. The salad was nice & crisp. The lettuce was green, not brown. (Thank goodness!) The pot stickers were good (But, how can they NOT be if they're deep fried? It's pretty hard to mess up anything deep fried - for real.) The spring roll was equally good. But, the best part was the chicken. For not having any sauce on it, it was SO delicious. It was so flavorful & I almost enjoyed it more without dipping it in the sauce. The sauce was pretty good, and of course tasted better with some siracha - on the side. If you're ever up on the Hill near Moli Bento, walking by & contemplating if you should try it, I say do it! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Solid neighborhood teriyaki place. We have grabbed to go a few nights and have really liked our chicken breast teriyaki. We've also gotten pot stickers which were good as well. The store is clean and the food is made to order. This will mean waiting for a bit while the owner cooks, but also means you're not getting reheated leftovers. Win! The price is good, the teriyaki is just fine making it a great drop in when you're in this area.

Yelp
I went in the place for the first time as the (owner?) was cleaning. I ordered a dish, which he started to prepare. I asked him if he could please wash his hands first, since he had just been cleaning. He acted confused, so I repeated the request. He declined to do so, so I canceled the order and left. I'm leaving a 2 star review instead of a 1 since I didn't get to try the food, and since this was some time ago - their practices may have changed for the better since then.

Yelp
I ordered by sweet and sour chicken add broccoli like last time. The chicken was good and tender with a slightly crispy coating, the fried peanuts were nice, the sweet and sour sauce was good but became too acidic and sweet towards the end. The entree this time; looked minimal with the broccoli not as colorful and tasty. The worst part was their rice. It tastes like it had no flavor no aroma. Rice is so easy to make. Gets me worried if it's real. I tried doctoring it up but the coarse ground pepper was too strong and their homemade teriyaki sauce was too salty, like it was mostly soy sauce with a touch of sweetness. Like no effort in the flavor at all.

Yelp
I work a few doors down from Moli Bento, and I had heard good things. One Sunday I was walking by and noticed they offered chicken yakisoba- my absolute favorite food in the world. Sadly, they weren't open so I had to wait to try it out. Let's just say it was worth the wait. Like I said, chicken yakisoba is my favorite. If it's on the menu anywhere, I order it. But....this was probably the best (if not definitely the best) I've ever had. I ordered it to go, and it was prepared fresh for me while I waited. The chicken was amazing and everything tasted great. I am so happy that such deliciousness exists so close to my work place. I've been going there nearly every day I work. If you're ever in the area, try it. You won't be dissapointed....

Yelp
craving some teriyaki and rice? come and stop by. i was so hungry and chicken katsu (chicken fried with panco bread crumbs) is one of my favorite chicken dishes. They had chicken katsu here and i was reluctant to try it. but i did and i liked it! they also have a good sauce which makes the chicken even better. katsu sauce is a little sweet and tangy.

Yelp
Good quality chicken, food cooked to order, compost instead of a trash can...this place is perfect. This is a step up from the usual teriyaki place. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
This is my go to place for Teriyaki on the hill. There is two places on 15th do yourself a favor and choose this one. Way better!
google avatar

Aysia H.

Yelp
There are two Teriyaki places on 15th ave by Group Health this is the one that I go to non stop. The food there is awesome, especially their salad dressing. Unlike other teriyaki places you always end up with mounds of rice and little meat, not here they always have a decent amount of meat for their dishes. If you stop in on a rainy day try their beef Udon it is delicious.

Yelp
One of the best Teriyaki place in town. Friendly owner, good customer service and clean place. Spicy food and its delicious.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Cold rice that was clearly in the container before I got there because it had bonded to the bottom. Seriously over cooked chicken. Gyoza was good.

Gayle C.

Yelp
Horrible giving one star order spicy chicken 8.98 got 8 strips of chicken an the vegetables had no season. Will never eat here again.

Amy Z.

Yelp
Reliable neighborhood terriaki joint. The fried rice and yakisoba are better than average, and the chicken fat is always cooked away.

Brad C.

Yelp
Just moved to neighborhood, this is my first trip tonight based on the Yelp reviews, as I am heading in the cook (owner?) is outside washing the windows - it is always a very good sign to see that the place is very clean. Ordered Chicken Teriyaki, good portion of rice & chicken with a green salad. I had no complains other than I couldn't eat it as soon as I planned to. Look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
None of the reviews mention something very important to us as we enjoy the many dishes at Moli Bento: they offer BROWN RICE as an option! We don't eat reduced-nutrition items like white bread & white rice, so for the first time we have a teriyaki place that works for us and at which all the dishes we've tried so far are highly yummy! We make a trip there at least weekly - - what a day-brightener!
