Molly Moon's - Review - Downtown - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This local ice cream chain has opened its 10th location in the region, serving scoops from a small stand at the new Waterfront Park. Look for the shop’s classic flavors like sweet cream and cold brew, plus plenty of seasonal options. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Google
Had a safe choice flavor (ie: cookies and cream) cause I felt like I wanted to go safe way for whatever reason. The flavor delivered what I was looking for and I also liked the waffle cone that was crunchy and slightly sweet. I had none to complain so might try some less-safe choice flavor next time. One flavor I’m thinking right now is apple pie flavor.

Google
Best sunset view by the water coupled with one of the most legendary ice creams in the city. Just loved the experience. The seasonal flavour of berry cheesecake took the cake, figuratively. The salted caramel was awesome as well. They offer the waffle cone free of cost and that is a delighter.

Google
We’ve visited a couple of times and it’s been great! The views are great if west Seattle and the ferries and water taxi coming and going. The line moves fast and we love the monthly flavors!

Google
Delicious home-made taste ice cream with options for diet restrictions. Nikki(sp?) Was super helpful and friendly. If you're nice then will probably let you sample the flavors before buying. Worth a try if you are lucky enough to be in the area. Hand made waffle cones are an added touch.

Google
We got the salted caramel ice cream and it was SO GOOD! It wasn’t super sweet. It was a little bitter. We found pieces of kosher salt in there sometimes too!

Google
Molly Moon’s is great as always — and this spot has the best view of them all! Even with a line, it was moving fast on opening day. This will be a great spot for anyone wandering around the waterfront, from ferry passengers to sports fans to cyclists. It goes without saying that the ice cream is delicious. (Liberal tears must taste great, then, thanks for pointing that out, 1-star troll!) It has a great outdoor seating area in the shade with several little tables. Plus it’s right by the ferry terminal & the big new bike lane. If I could nitpick, I’d like some bike parking in the area (not their fault), along with some napkins.

Google
A long line to be expected but nothing else different from all the other Molly Moons. German chocolate is okay. My favorite still is scout mint brownie and hazelnuts. The view in the pier is cute on a nice clear day. There are not a lot of tables and chairs though.

Google
I just missed the ferry and decided to check out Molly Moon’s ice cream and boy am I glad I did! I had a waffle cone with two flavors (honey lavender and campfire) and both were absolutely delicious! The campfire was coconut based ice cream with deconstructed s’mores and the honey lavender was flavored just right. I can’t wait to go back!

Yelp
Molly Moon's makes great ice cream that comes in unique flavors, and isn't too sweet. What's especially wonderful about this location is its waterfront location with wonderful seating and gorgeous views of the ocean. It's a hollowed out boat station which - how cool that they renovated it into an ice cream shop! What also makes it stand out is the wonderful lady that was working there this Tuesday evening. She was so funny and light-hearted, and people like that make my day :) Opted for the mint brownie flavor in a waffle cone with a chocolate shell today (in between $9-10). We were able to try all the flavors we wanted!

Yelp
Neat enough place, but they're proud of their ice creams here. Now, maybe their other ice cream flavors are better. But I will tell you: The salted caramel is the worst ice cream I've ever had in my life. I don't say this lightly, but it was flat out nasty tasting. I of course suggest, do not get the salted caramel... I hope the other flavors are better...and with that sentiment...I give 2 stars instead of 1 star.

Yelp
Every time we've visited Seattle, Molly Moon's ice cream has been on our list but somehow, we never made it. Third time's the charm! On a crisp fall Friday night, we finally got to go. This location near the pier in downtown Seattle is perfect, scenic, lively, and right by the water. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly. The kids went with sweet cream and strawberry, while I chose an iced latte. I also sampled the honey lavender, which was lovely. The ice cream was everything I hoped for creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Honestly, I could eat it all day. The service was fast and friendly, and the seating by the water, with boats drifting by, added to the charm. Molly Moon's definitely lived up to the hype, and we'd love to go back. Too good to miss!

Yelp
Omg tried the seasonal marshmallow pretzel crunch in a waffle cone! One of the best ice cream flavors I've had. Wasn't too busy so the line was quick! You just order at a window. They have some seats outside with a nice view of the water. Would def come back to try more :)

Yelp
We had the Pumpkin Pie ice cream and Melted Chocolate with hazelnut sprinkles. Pumpkin pie had pieces of crust mixed in, spice level was perfect and flavorful. Melted Chocolate was tasty as well. Prompt, friendly service. Great side patio to sit at with a view of the Sound.

Yelp
This ice cream is hands down some of the best ice cream I've ever had! They have honey lavender flavor which is my favorite! And other super unique flavors you don't see on other ice cream places menu! My hubs got the strawberry ice cream (delicious and creamy btw) with a marshmallow topping that they literally took a torch to toast the top of and then added whip cream! I don't even like strawberry ice cream and I loved it here because the quality is chefs kiss! The people working are very friendly and allow you to taste all the flavors you want! They have a little spot you can sit and enjoy your ice cream or walk around like we did! Lots to enjoy about this cute little gem in Seattle!

Yelp
- Superb ice cream in a waffle cone - I initially ordered salted caramel but the server suggested I taste it first. Well done as it doesn't taste much like what I'd expect so I changed to another flavor. - Tip free, they pay their folks a decent wage apparently. - Black lives matter sign.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute ice cream shop near the ferry entrance. I ordered a peach and cream with fresh strawberry. Very tasty. Line wasnt that long on the weekdays. Service was great. I suggest grab an ice cream and watch sunset. :)

Yelp
Molly Moons is a great addition to the Seattle Waterfront area. Its located a little south of the main stretch of the waterfront but I think its more than worth it to go out of your way to visit. The lines can be long at times but that's for good reason, in my opinion this is the best ice cream you can get in the Seattle area. I appreciated being able to try multiple flavors without any pressure to order quickly, and ended up ordering 2 of their seasonal flavors, "Malted Milk Chocolate" and "Cherry Chunk" both very rich in flavor in and delicious. Definitely nice to sit down on a nice day and enjoy quality ice cream and look out to Elliot Bay.

Yelp
I love all ice cream, but I especially love interesting/fun flavors and lots of chunks! Molly Moons has a flavor called Yeti that has caramel, chocolate and granola!! All high quality ingredients and it's really good. Definitely worth the cost. My husband got a waffle bowl and unfortunately it was stale. It didn't SMELL like fresh waffle so I don't know how often they make them.
google avatar

Anjelica C.

Yelp
Food - i had the yeti and i did not read it closely. when i started eating it i thought there might be nuts in the granola but its pepita seeds. i dunno what kind of granola i was expecting, but i wasn't imagining seeds. it was still really good. my husband got a milkshake w/ the mint brownie which i guess he regretted because the brownie part made the shake kinda chunky. lessons learned. service - super friendly and gave us a pup cup! ambiance - really nice to be by the water in the summer months. can't imagine how busy they get during the winter, but the location by the ferry terminal keeps it pretty busy. plenty of seating under the covered deck, but the place was so busy there wasn't anywhere to sit when we got there. can't complain cuz eating ice cream standing by the water on a hot summer day is still pretty great.

Yelp
Lovely new location on the water for this Seattle ice cream chain. As a regular water taxi rider, I love that it's bringing tourists and locals a bit further down the waterfront and I live seeing happy people with ice cream sitting on a formerly empty rocky beach. Service is fast and friendly despite the line. Ice cream is good and I love that you can get a split scoop - but many flavors to me taste very similar - all good, of course.
google avatar

Thaila N.

Yelp
I love Molly Moon's ice cream, and this location did not disappoint! You can eat your ice cream on the deck and enjoy the peaceful waves. There is also a little beach next to the shop that has big rocks to sit on. I was a little worried when I saw the long line from the distance, but it took less than 10 minutes to get served. The person helping me was kind and patient with all the samples that I wanted to try. I was also pleasantly surprised that they do half/split scoops here. When I recently went to the Capitol Hill location, they did not offer this. The location is convenient for tourists spending a day at Pike Place and the piers. Definitely recommend coming to this Molly Moon's location!

Yelp
After trying a few different flavors, I ordered campfire and it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had. AND it just so happened to be a vegan flavor! I think the different textures and the flavor just hit right for me- the graham cracker, the chocolate shavings... it was all just melt in my mouth amazing! It's in this cute waterfront area so my friend and I just sat on some rocks with our ice cream by the water. The line was super long but moved fairly quickly since there were a bunch of windows open for ordering.
google avatar

Vinh M.

Yelp
A little harder to get to compared to their Cap Hill location, but worth it for great views and a walk around the Waterfront! My friend and I randomly decided to take a walk along said Waterfront and I had a hunch to try here since this location opened not too long ago. This was on a sunny Friday evening, and we came to a decently long line where people waited to get their ice cream and many others ate theirs nearby or at tables overlooking the water view (which were all taken, of course). I decided on their seasonal strawberry matcha ice cream on a waffle cone, while my friend got vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. I gotta say, my strawberry matcha ice cream tastes exactly like a strawberry matcha latte, which is perfect since it's just as advertised. Both our ice creams had a smooth and creamy consistency, and instantly melted in our mouths when we ate them. Great views, great ice cream too! And ideal for the weather we've been having.

Yelp
Stopped by the Molly Moon's Ice Cream shop at the Seattle Waterfront today! Nothing beats creamy, locally made ice cream with that perfect view of the water and ferris wheel in the background. The atmosphere was so chill, sea breeze, city vibes, and that signature Molly Moon's sweetness. Whether you're a Seattle local or just visiting, this spot is a must for a cozy treat by the water.
google avatar

Kevin Z.

Yelp
I honestly no real complaints about this adorable location, besides a potentially long wait on a warm summer night, but that's to be expected given the prime real estate along the waterfront. They operate pretty quickly given their size, and still make time for you to try some samples before making your selection. I opted for the Matcha Strawberry flavor with the Matcha Hardshell drizzle on top (additional ~$1 or $1.50), since I'm a fiend for anything matcha these days. While the ice cream flavor itself was quite mild in both matcha and strawberry flavor, the addition of the hardshell really took it to the next level. I would probably order another ice cream flavor just to act as a base for the hard shell next time - it was a rich mix of what tasted like white chocolate (?) and matcha, with an addicting texture that instantly melted the moment you put it in your mouth. Stop by to enjoy ice cream with a view!

Yelp
Molly Moons is always a great place to have a scoop of ice cream and this location is no exception! I met here with some friends and we really enjoyed it. It's a new spot in town, but has a lot of cute things about it. The building it's in is actually the original ferry terminal from when the ferry system had first started. There is a beautiful view of the waterfront and several tables to sit at and enjoy the view. Molly moons has really turned this space into something beautiful! The staff were very nice and friendly and the line was not too long. I was able to receive my ice cream quickly. I had the cookies and cream which was delicious! For beautiful and breathtaking views while eating your delicious Molly Moon's, I highly recommend this Molly Moon's location. A great view and some of the most delicious ice cream in Seattle!
google avatar

Prasiddha H.

Yelp
Had a chance to try Molly Moon's which I heard was a Seattle staple for ice cream. This was a cute store and I loved that they had such a wide variety of different flavors. They had some seasonal specials like blackberry and peaches and cream which I go to have a sample of which was awesome! I ended up going with the peaches and cream which was perfectly refreshing and creamy while not being overly sweet. THe service was fast and they had a cute ambiance with a few chairs so folks could sit. Would definitely recommend this spot to others.
google avatar

Roselia G.

Yelp
Homemade ice cream is the best! This chain has different seasonal flavors every month. I tasted the Cherry Limeade Sorbet, but I had to first get the Cookie Dough, which is actually made with Hilary Clinton's award winning cookie recipe. Can't wait to try the rest!
google avatar

Brent W.

Yelp
Wow! This place was packed. Long lines, but oh so good. Creamy deliciousness. I recommend the malted chocolate and the Mint brownie flavor.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Giant portions. Plan to share with someone or else bring your insulin shots. I'm still trying to recover from what I told my husband is the best ice cream I've ever had. The line was long, but moved efficiently. Service with a smile and I swore a hint of "good luck" finishing this monstrous serving of caramely swirly goodness. Fun to sit and look over the water, people watch. See other people's reactions to Molly Moon's massive scoops.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
This brand new location of Molly Moon's is on Alaska Way on the waterfront, the south side just past the ferry terminal. This has long been anticipated as it's a great location for a terrific local ice cream shop. The flavors are wonderful and the ice cream smooth and creamy.
google avatar

Brian O.

Yelp
Today after strolling on the new harbor walkways, we stopped at Molly Moon's for ice cream. We had a variety of flavors like Yeti, s'mores, blackberry cobbler, melted chocolate and salted caramel. Everything was very good. I would have enjoyed mine more if there was less large chunks of cobbler in the blackberry ice cream. Service was great.

Yelp
Molly Moon's was a fun ice cream place to try out! They're at the docks in Seattle with a beautiful view of the water. The service: It was busy and the line was very, very long, taking around fifteen to twenty five minutes or so. The employees there seemed a little annoyed (because of all the people there, I think) but provided good quality service! The food: They have very unique flavors and a few traditional ones as well. I tried samples of a few of the flavors and settled on the honey lavender flavor in a waffle cone. It was so good, it didn't taste like tea like one might think it would lol. The ice cream itself was very rich and so, so good. It was a little spendy, however. Final thoughts: The ice cream was really good, however between how popular it is (and consequential waiting times) and how pricey it is, I don't think it would be my first choice in ice cream places.

Yelp
we came here following a local's recommendation. let me start by saying i've never met an ice cream i didn't like. (except for one that blue cheese in it.... what were they thinking?? but that's another story) My love ordered his standard cookies and cream - i opted for the yeti flavor (sweet cream, granola, mini chips, and caramel). both were good.... i mean it IS ice cream.... and perhaps it was the sweet cream base (vs vanilla) but they both tasted a little salty. i know that sounds strange, and i thought it was just mine (because of the caramel) but then i tasted his as well. not so salty that it ruined the flavor, just that i noticed. it's still really good, it just doesn't taste like other creams i've had. i'll give a thumb up on this one!
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
new location by the waterfront so bonus points for the views and vibes! there's a couple of seats and there's always a line (which doesn't move very fast). we tried the cherry cheesecake, yeti scoops (double scoop for ~$9 ) and I liked the crunch but they were quite sweet
google avatar

Yelp
If I had one tip it would be to either get rid of the complicated items like shakes that take up so much of the staffs time, or create an "express" lane for people who just want a cone or a Sunday. As a local I've always been a fan of MM, and was excited to have one open up near the ferry terminal. I wasn't expecting it to take 35 minutes to get an ice cream though. There were 5 groups/couples ahead of me when I got in line. The moment someone orders a milk shake the entire operation comes to a screeching halt for 10 minutes while staff are pulled away from the windows to try and make shakes. Once I finally made it up to the window I ordered a Sunday and my entire order took only 2 minutes to order and get put in my hand. It was as good as any other MM location which is what I was hoping for. But until they figure out how to keep the line moving it's not really worth trying to visit when you're waiting for a ferry because there's a good chance you'll end up leaving empty handed and running to catch your boat.

Yelp
After taking the Walk-on ferry to West Seattle for lunch, I stopped at Molly Moon for ice cream. I had sweet cream in a cup with hard cherry topping, and then sat in a chair to watch the view. What could be Good ice cream, great service, and on the water!
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Hair and something green in our melted chocolate ice cream. They did refund our money.
google avatar

Bill L.

Yelp
Great ice cream with fresh seasonal fruits. High recommended. Went around 1pm and it wasn't too crowded.
google avatar

Chance K.

Yelp
The mini brownie ice cream in a waffle cone was the perfect end to a great day walking around pikes market. The staff was friendly and helpful. I think my daughter tried every flavor before picking an ice cream haha. Nice seating area over looking the water
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Everything is good. Long line deceiving. The line goes fast, hardly any wait. Many places to sit down and enjoy my order sitting at tables or nearby. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients.
google avatar

Lulu L.

Yelp
Quite simply some of the best ice cream in the city and anywhere on the planet. And the staff is really friendly, too. If you like waffle cones, Molly Moon's are particularly delicious.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Delicious and some of the best ice cream I've ever had right on the sound as well. Will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
The ice cream is excellent. A little on the expensive side, but priced similar to Handel's. Popular place, but line moved quickly. Unique take on flavors. Had the blackberry, cream, and cookie dough on different occasions. All were superb. Will hit this place up again when visiting.
google avatar

Kurt W.

Yelp
The service at this ice cream chain is terrible. The ice cream itself is nothing special. The prices are horrific. You should just get a pint of Ben N Jerry's instead

Trisha L.

Yelp
Right by the waterfront! Opted for Matcha Strawberry single scoop with waffle cone crunch. Ice cream has strawberry jam swirled inside and flavor wise is a subtle matcha and strawberry flavor. the strawberry is stronger but it's not too sweet. Great for subtle dessert

William B.

Yelp
Best ice cream in Seattle. Absolutely delicious. Sebastian is the best - excellent people working here.

Flip B.

Yelp
Many tempting flavors, friendly staff. I scream, you scream . . . you know the rest. You won't be disappointed!

Des T.

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect since I'm often disappointed in average ice cream. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the yeti flavor and my son really liked their twist on the cookie dough (which was a bit reminiscent of snickerdoodle). Perfect treat for a hot day. Only negative was there was a long wait but it was hot and a mariners game has just ended so not surprised.

Jon G.

Yelp
Rude staff, over priced! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! Bland flavor about the worst I've ever had. The store was dirty too.

Patrick G.

Yelp
Disappointing the line is cutoff 20 min before the closing time. The line moves so slow, I've abandoned trying to get ice cream here 2 times already and was turned away the third time even though they don't close for 20 min. I live 2 blocks away you've lost a customer would support the business in the winter when the tourists are long gone.
