Molly’s Cupcakes

This little hidden gem was such a pleasure to visit. Since my wife and I were out of town, we wanted to try something new since we were craving something sweet. We walked in and were surprised at the many options Molly's offered. Once I saw the display case, I knew we were in trouble. The ladies behind the counter both days were very nice, patient, and friendly. We ordered a 4-pack of cupcakes both days, and my favorite was the peach cobbler cupcake. My wife said it was a tie between the dulce de leche churro and the white chocolate raspberry. I am so glad we were just visiting from out of town because those cupcakes are so delicious, you'll want to return the next day like we did. One of the things we loved most was how delicious the buttercream frosting was—it really melts in your mouth. For so long, I have taken the frosting off cupcakes because it was too sweet and pretty heavy. You won't have that problem with Molly's Cupcakes.

⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars — Disappointed at Old Orchard Location We absolutely love Molly’s Cupcakes — we go about once a week and have always had amazing experiences at every other location. We are regulars, each birthday/occasion we are ordering our cakes here. The cupcakes are incredible, and the staff everywhere else has always been kind, welcoming, and respectful — especially when it comes to using our military discount. Unfortunately, the Old Orchard location has been a major letdown because of one employee who consistently makes visits uncomfortable. Each time we’ve gone, she’s given us a hard time about the discount and acts as if we’re inconveniencing her just by ordering. To make matters worse, she even misspelled my mother-in-law’s name on a cake order and showed zero accountability — just more attitude. It’s disappointing because we truly love Molly’s and this location is in our city, but the service from this particular employee puts a real stain on the experience. At this point, we’d rather drive to Rosemont or Chicago (or even Schaumburg if it were still open) just to get the friendly service Molly’s is known for. I hope management addresses this, because Molly’s deserves better representation than this.

i’ve always loved Molly’s Cupcakes they’ve been a go-to treat for me. But recently, something about the flavor has changed. It’s just not the same as it used to be. Still good, but not what it once was, so I’m taking off one star.

My husband and I visited this location yesterday. We’ve been to a few other Molly locations with no issue. The service here was friendly and they were very patient with us as we selected our half dozen cupcakes. What was disappointing were the cupcakes themselves. We usually love every new flavor we try but here? They were not good. The frosting was bland, the cupcakes were either partially filled or not filled at all. Some of the descriptions did not match what you actually saw on the cupcake. Overall, these didn’t taste like your standard Molly’s cupcakes and we did not like them.

It’s like the Baskin Robbins of Cupcakes. Soo many flavors and all of them are worth a try :). The staff is amazing and always so willing to help pick flavors. I got the peach cobbler and it was light, sweet, and simply decadent. Indoor seating available.

I can't believe I'm giving Molly's, (literally, the BEST cupcakes I've had) a review less than 5 stars but, here's why... our family house is around the corner in Lincoln Park from your original location. I tried Molly's when you opened in 2007 and they're the only cupcakes I eat now. Plus, I tell everyone about your cupcakes and even order birthday cakes from you. Your buttercream frosting is one of the best I've ever had. However, they DO NOT have buttercream frosting at this location. That's a bummer. What's even more of a bummer is that true Molly's fans like me, know that your "Strawberry Shortcake" cupcake, comes with the buttercream. The moment I bit into mine, I knew it was NOT buttercream. I did not finish the cupcake and felt deceived. Not the experience I expected from one of my favorite bakeries. I'll stick to the Lincoln Park location and please fix your Skokie location.

Mollys is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Dori and GM Dritan and Avrielleas and Brooke are very nice. Amazing cupcakes. Must come back. 10/10.

The service was excellent and quick, however the butter cream icing was terrible on the red velvet cupcake with the chocolate filling , it was like eating a stick of butter that had been out for 8 hours there was barely any sweetness to it. The cupcake was actually moist they just need to improve the frosting! I expect more for $5
