Molly’s Restaurant, Bar, and Bakery Opens in Mission Beach | Eater San Diego

"On Mission Boulevard a new beachside brunch hangout has landed: Molly’s, the daytime counterpart to Moe’s, which shares a street-level courtyard with it but Molly’s also has a sunny rooftop patio decked out in furnishings shipped in from Tulum, Mexico’s trendy beach town. Currently open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Molly’s serves a breakfast and lunch menu that ranges from egg dishes and assorted toasts to açaí bowls, Belgian waffles, salads, and sandwiches; the restaurant and bar roasts its own beans for coffee and pours brunchtime cocktails like mimosas and Bloody Marys. Molly’s also gives Mission Beach its own artisan bakery: in-house pastry chef Eli Peralta is working with pastry consultant Cheryl Storms (previously a kitchen manager at Bird Rock’s Wayfarer Bread & Pastry, a former San Francisco bakery owner, and grand-prize winner of Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship”) to stock a pastry counter with almond croissants, berry cream buns, tomato‑chevre tarts, mini banana chocolate pies, and more. Management says Molly’s will extend its hours just before Memorial Day, expand its cocktail list, and add a dinner menu with salads, pizza, and flatbreads." - Candice Woo

Google
Perfect spot for a post-walk meal! Molly’s has a fantastic variety of healthy options at prices that are actually affordable. It’s a casual, walk-up-and-order setup which makes for a great atmosphere with friends. We all loved our food and felt energized afterward! For those looking at my photos: The 'green' dish: That’s the Egg White Frittata—it tasted great and felt so fresh. The plate with sweet potato: That’s the Breakfast Bowl, highly recommend if you want something hearty. The burrito: Their Breakfast Burrito, which was a hit. We would definitely recommend coming here if you want a meal that makes you feel good! Pet friendly

We stopped in while walking back to our car and we're surprised at how much room they were able to work out in their limited space. The pastries & cookies were amazing. I forgot to take pictures of the scones & chocolate chip cookie. The ham & cheese croissant and chocolate croissant were fantastic for breakfast the next morning.

We love Molly's for brunch or a quick coffee stop. The few cooked food items on the menu are delicious, our favorite is The Mission Breakfast Bowl. Decor is very cute. I am only giving it 4 stars because the spectacular upper deck has been closed off every time we visited in the past 2 months. Seems like there aren't enough servers to work that area. The gourmet coffee shop drinks are amazing, the pastries are very good and they offer Mimosas too!

Google
Breakfast burrito was great! Same with the Lemon Blueberry Muffin, just delicious. The Mocha Latte tasted ok but was half or more foam.

my boyfriend and I have become locals at Moe's, which is right next door to Molly's. so we decided to try this out for a change. the ambiance is a very Bohemian vibe, reminds me of bali. very adorable, with an open concept, inviting a lot of light and creating a vibrant aesthetic. they have a rooftop patio which I felt we must experience, they do have a bar up there as well, but it wasn't as busy, so it was not open at the time of our visit. they asked you to order your food and drinks at the bar downstairs, and they'll bring it to your table. unfortunately, I was very disappointed in their food and drinks, but their service as well. it was not very welcoming and tainted. My overall experience their food is very bar style menu, very limited and not the best quality. what I will say has made us a returning customer, is the bakery located inside Molly's. their bakery is literally amazing! I dream about their croissants, and I've gone multiple times since my first visit. my boyfriend and I have tried a variety of items from their bakery, including their cinnamon rolls, their scones, they're Snickerdoodle cookies, ham and cheese croissants, and they're fresh smoothies. Highly recommend the bakery for all your pastry cravings.

Google
We hosted our open-bar wedding reception & dinner at Molly’s San Diego on the upstairs patio, and it was absolutely perfect. Almost every single guest commented on how amazing the reception was. The restaurant closes to the public at 2, which made the reception feel so intimate with just our guests—it was really special and exactly what we were hoping for. The food was really good and beautifully presented, and the staff was incredibly attentive from start to finish. They truly made us and our guests feel taken care of all night. The space itself was decorated so cute with string lights and sweet pink flowers on the tables, creating a romantic and fun atmosphere without us needing much extra décor. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special day. Highly recommend Molly’s for weddings, receptions, or any special event—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
We stopped in for an iced tea while out for a walk and ended up staying for lunch. The employees are the most friendly and kind people I’ve encountered in a long time. The food was excellent!! The baked items were delicious and I could tell only the best ingredients were used. I had the breakfast bowl that was fresh with so many great flavors! My mother in law had the tuna sandwich on a huge toasted croissant that was also made in house. The outside patio area was a great place to sit and relax while we enjoyed our lunch. Big thanks to the staff for the fabulous food and service.

Google
It is a cute space with a bunch of breakfast options. Got the açaí bowl with almond butter. Was great. Also got the avacado toast which was refreshing. The wraps are good too. The quantity is quite less for the price though. Overall a spacious place, good decor. Has good enough plug points to use laptop for a while.

Yelp
Food was great! Breakfast Burrito delicious. Sandwiches, coffee, drinks all five stars! Wonderful outdoor dog-friendly patio lunch spot too. Will be back!!!

Yelp
Really nice vibe at Molly's They were playing 70's music and it was a nice change from the average dance-thumping vibe of San Diego restaurants near the beach. I got the avocado toast which was really pretty. I had a scone as well which was very good. The first bite of a scone is everything...it shouldn't be like a biscuit but more like a large cookie with a soft texture inside and crunchy outside. Nice patio area and friendly service.

Yelp
The family decided to brunch here last weekend. It is a street front breakfast/ brunch/lunch type spot with a health focused menu. There were plenty of flies on the sunny patio which was rather warm. We moved to the shade of the bar and I ordered a couple of Negronis for the girl and me. The gal behind the bar gave me a blank stare and told me she wasn't a bartender and I had to order at the counter but she would check. I never saw her again. No Negroni, no happy smile. The chicken salad croissant was okay the roast sweet potatoes were okay. Parking is a nightmare all day every day. They refused to put college football on the bar tv for me! We can all do better than this place!

Yelp
This place has great healthy options. Perfect spot for a good breakfast before hitting the beach. Lots of sitting outside as well. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
Still my favorite spot in San Diego. I look forward to getting to come enjoy the food and coffee at Molly's whenever I'm in town. The menu has a lot to offer and they portions are wonderfully filling. The cold brew, lattes, iced coffee and hot coffee are really tasty as well. The cinnamon rolls are so hard to pass up, so if they have one, do not miss out! My all time favorite it still the Mission Beach Breakfast Bowl. It's filling and full of so many good things. The outdoor patio, indoor space or even upstairs - there isn't a bad seat in the house!

Yelp
We had a large group, 11 of us, for brunch. We made a reservation a few weeks ago, needed to change the time and after 3 calls, 2 voicemails and an email, never got a hold of anyone. When we showed up at our original reservation time, we checked in and the girls at the counter seemed very confused that we had a reservation and just nonchalantly said "yeah we can do 11" and asked if we wanted a server or counter service. We figured 11 girls individually ordering counter service would be cumbersome for them, so we requested a server and headed upstairs to the rooftop area and the girl helping us put our tables together seemed a little annoyed to be helping us. Once we were sat, service was great. Very attentive, but on top of drinks, gave some off menu recommendations. She was great! I had the breakfast sandwich, which was bacon, egg, cheese, pickled onions, a harissa spread and I added avocado. It was huge and delicious! I also had an espresso martini which was perfectly balanced. Not too strong or too sweet. Most of the other ladies had the shashuka or breakfast sandwich and I didn't see too many plates with anything leftover so we all enjoyed our meals to say the least. The last thing to note is the view. If you can snag a rooftop spot, I highly recommend as the view is just so much better up top. Oh, and definitely start with a cinnamon roll, they're heavenly!

Yelp
I am very impressed by the breakfast here. I ordered the Egg White Frittata. It was delicious and felt very light. I also got the matcha with vanilla and caramel and it was made perfectly. Service was good. You order from the counter in the back and pick a seat. Tad bit confusing when you first walk in since they are located in the back and no one was at the bar to greet you. The ambiance is very beach bohemian vibe. Loved the patio upstairs. And plenty of seating downstairs inside and out on a shaded patio. No beach views but nice little walk to the actual beach. Parking was pretty easy as it's a week day in the AM.

Yelp
This was a café that had a rooftop patio along with other outdoor seating available too. They had a number of baked goods to choose from and a few brunch items as well as a bar. The staff was patient as we took some time to order at the counter. I had a blueberry lemon muffin ($4.75?). It was unreal. I am not a big fan of muffins, but this was very tasty. There was a lemon curd filling and a crumble on top. It was a nice compliment, and it was well apparent that it was fresh based on the feel, smell, and look. Will I go back? Easily.

Yelp
Stopped here during our bike ride around Mission. Cute spot with a nice large patio, which is mostly shaded. Got the shakshouka, tuna salad, broccoli salad, cauliflower, and Belgian waffle. Shakshouka was really good. Had a bit of kick to it. I added the bacon and was happy to see a giant slab of pork. The focaccia was nice and fresh, light. Tuna salad came in a nice buttery croissant. Nicely made and not dry like other places. As far as the sides, I'd skip the broccoli salad. Flavor was flat. Opt for the cauliflower instead. Belgian waffle was a Belgian waffle. Well made and simple. Cute spot to stop for breakfast, lunch.

Yelp
Amazing pastries and excellent coffee. Highly recommend. We went twice while visiting mission beach. Great food and great atmosphere.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Great coffee, solid pastries, ok service, nah on the breakfast. The egg white "frittata" was like ground up broccoli and spinach no eggs no cheese and no flavor. The avacado toast was not like packaged "guac" with so freshness on top (which is what saved it) but the bread wasn't toasted and without the tomato and egg it would have been awful. The coffees were great from the salted cold from to the vanilla cinnamon. The lemon blueberry muffin was a nice tart muffin just the perfect addition of sweetness.

Yelp
First time visiting, we were going to just order to go but decided to sit at the bar and enjoy the vibe. We had expected the place to be packed for brunch, but we were able to grab a couple of seats at the bar with the coolest bartender. She made the meanest loaded bloody mary and took good care of us. We chose this place for the egg sandwich, we substituted sourdough bread for the croissant, loaded with bacon - so delicious. There were football games going on the TVs. What a great time.

Yelp
Super friendly service and delicious food and one of the best lattes I've had in a long time. Love the ambience, I want one of the disco balls!

Yelp
Where to start with molly's! My husband and I go to Molly's at least 1 to 2 times a week since it is one mile from our house and we love their bakery! They're baked goods are prepared freshly at least once a day! This is one of my favorite bakeries and all of San diego, and I've been to a lot of the top and trendy ones! They do not cut corners and add so much TLC to each of their pastries. My favorites are the classic croissant, ham and cheese croissant, any of their scones, and they have a variety of muffins! The carrot cake muffin and blueberry lemon scone are some of my favorites.

Yelp
First of all, this space is so super cute! I took all the pics here because it was gorgeous. I really came here for the shakshouka and that was a great decision because it was so yummy all-be-it very over hot. I was sweating as the sun beat down on me on top of the heat from my pineapple mimosa. They had so many yummy options, highly recommend for a cute brunch spot!

Natālija L.

Yelp
Breakfast bowl and breakfast sandwich! Both were 10/10. Vibes 10/10. Love good healthy breakfast. Definitely will be back. Plenty of room and no long wait on Sunday morning

Yelp
We went to Molly's for brunch on the 4th of July before heading to the beach, and it was a great start to the day. When we arrived, the host offered inside, outside, or upstairs seating -- but didn't mention that upstairs is actually a rooftop! Definitely go for the rooftop if you can. We enjoyed singing along to the country throwbacks they had playing and were surprised the host didn't encourage us the check out the rooftop (instead of just upstairs seating). We tried a Bloody Mary (which came out quickly, with a mini grilled cheese and bacon garnish -- so good!) and an espresso mojito. I was a little unsure about the mojito being too sweet, but it was balanced and had great flavor. Our food came out fast. We ordered the paleo bowl and the breakfast burrito. The paleo bowl was super filling, and I was especially impressed with the tuna salad. The burrito was flavorful and unique -- definitely recommend both. Our server Turner was fantastic -- really attentive and made a great Bloody Mary. Note: The tuna has onions (I enjoyed but it doesn't say it on the menu)

Yelp
Had a nice brunch here on Sunday around noon. Walked in and you can order from the front. Had a yummy oat milk latte and ordered a brunch bowl. We took a seat out on the patio, there were quite a few open seats. We got served our food pretty quickly. My bowl was tasty.

Yelp
Molly's is an adorable beachside cafe with trendy brunch vibes and order at the counter service! They had great mimosas and the quiche was delicious! Overall the menu was very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back to try their other brunch items!

Yelp
I stopped on for breakfast. I ordered an iced latte with whole milk and the Belgian waffles with fresh berries. The waffles were $12.95, and the latte $4.75 and some changed. I thought the waffle was a little steep for one waffle, but what do you do these days. The iced latte was great. They roast their own coffee, and they roast some great coffee. The waffle was good, but I didn't appreciate that they put the whipped cream right over the fresh macerated berries. I had to do my best to remove the whipped cream, but unfortunately, the cream was all over the berries. They should consider serving the whipped cream on the side. Also, the waffle did not come with butter, so you have to request it. You have to have a waffle with butter, preferably soft whipped butter. The service was friendly enough. The young lady who took my order at the counter provided small talk and such. They offer plenty of inside and outside seating.

Yelp
Such a cute place with phenomenal pastries and coffee. Food was okay. We liked the uniqueness of the selections, but all of our food was overly spiced and that should be disclosed on the menu. There were 7 of us and all of us thought the same and we ordered a variety. Service ce wants swift, but if you have your coffee in hand it isn't too long. Server not friendly and actually snappy. Didn't let that bother me as we were having family time, but it was noticeable to others. Luckily I was in my best behavior. ;)
google avatar

Nick M.

Yelp
Great food and coffee. Important for parents: big, clean bathrooms with brand new/nice changing tables.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
Super chic spot! The decor was fun, the staff were very friendly and fast! I got the breakfast burrito and my wife got the breakfast sandwich on a gluten free bun. I have not seen a gluten free bun like this! If I hadn't known, I would have thought it was a regular one! It was big and delicious! The yams and aioli in the breakfast burrito really set it off! The hot apple cider was a nice warm touch on what was a drizzly day!
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
Reality check. My açaí bowl was disappointing. The fruit wasn't sweet and there wasn't much of it. Didn't taste toasted coconut. Honey was lacking. Ugh. For 15.00 bucks I expected much more. Cute ambience. Servers were nice. Watched as the bartender made a $16 Bloody Mary using a 4.00 bottle of off the shelf stuff. Better pick it up.
google avatar

Anita M.

Yelp
A wonderful experience from start to finish! I got such great service and a warm welcome when I came inside. All the staff were nice. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. I'm not even a coffee person but the pistachio latte caught my attention since I like this flavor. It was delicious and sweet! I ordered the shakshuska (apologies for the spelling maybe lol) and it was divine! A good level of spicy. Next time I would add avocado for a cooling factor. I would definitely come again based on my experience! The seating is cute and so is the rooftop area. I came by myself and think this is a great spot for a solo date.

Yelp
My husband and I set out to brunch on Sunday at Molly's. After checking website for hours and calling just to verify. Hours on website and message when called said Sunday's open from 7:30AM-8:00PM. We got to Molly's about 2:00PM and waiter said they were closed for day. We said website says you're open until 8:00 as well as message when called. All he said was they must not have updated yet. We walked over a mile to eat there. UPDATE YOUR HOURS PROMPTLY! How hard can it be.
google avatar

Yelp
Really cool hip cafe, really clean and near the beach! Service was very friendly and attentive, Full bar and decent size food menu, The frittata was good The breakfast burrito was OK. 3.5 stars at least
google avatar

Yelp
I was meeting up with a foodie friend and she picked Molly's Mission Beach to eat. According to their website, Molly "promises to transport you to paradise". They pride themselves on offering elevated pastry program, in house roasted coffee, and a brunch experience. My friend ordered their Shakshuka. I tried their Mission Beach Breakfast Bowl. We both had 2 Mimosas! We sat in their upstairs patio area. Nice breeze. I definitely felt the "paradise" vibe! Service was friendly! Pictures and Video - https://www.instagram.com/p/C_R0c4cplUy/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== ENJOY!!

Yelp
Came on a Monday (12/30), 10:00am, not too busy at the time but got very busy. They were understaffed, only 2 working up front, very overwhelmed trying to take orders, make coffees, deliver food to tables etc.. needless to say, service was slow but the two did the best they could. Prices are very high, for example we paid $10 for lattes (and not a lot of flavor) and $17 for a very plain avocado toast with only light avocado (more like a butter spread amount than an avocado spread!). Also ordered the Shakshouka which was also expensive for an egg dish ($18 I believe). I was disappointed with the quality, the egg yolks were overcooked (hard) and the dish just didn't impress me. Good bread with it however! Overall ok but not amazing, IMO. Also ordered the waffle, good but nothing unique, and several croissants which were quite tasty (plain and chocolate). Flaky yet dense on the bottoms, I would recommend these but best warmed up which they do for 'to stay' orders. Only other problem was they ran out of most of their baked goods by 10:30. Parking around the area is very challenging most the time (street parking). Overall we were disappointed, especially for the price. Cute decor, but not enough to make up for the lackluster and expensive food. Don't think I'd go back for their food or coffee, but maybe a croissant. Hoping management will read this and step up their game. I'm rooting for them!
google avatar

Larion L.

Yelp
Great healthy food and good coffee. The caffe has two levels, each floor is nicely decorated. There is not much service, just one lady selling and bringing food to your table. Coffee self pick up
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
Love Molly's! Was visiting a friend of mine and we went in for brunch. I had the Banana bread chai latte which was so unique and fun! I really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the shakshouka for her first time and loved it! She said it was spicy enough to not need hot sauce. I had the delicious salad and loved every bite! Portions were very big
google avatar

Lauren Y.

Yelp
I've only done take out from Molly's, but the pastries are fantastic. Possibly the best pastries from a non-bakery focused business in SD. They're fairly priced, so try them ALL. My favorites are the monkey bread and Blueberry Lemon curd muffin. It has a streusel on top that stays together rather than crumbling into a million pieces, which I greatly appreciate. I think the powdered sugar is unnecessary and does cause a mess, but I understand that they're trying to add a little something extra to give it more case appeal. The scones here are all great too! Counter style ordering, and service is fast and friendly. I'd definitely recommend for a pastry + coffee!
google avatar

Sherylynn S.

Yelp
What a gorgeous place to have breakfast and lunch with mimosas! I love the decoration and the vibe where you feel like you're definitely not in Mission Beach and more like a vacation mode When ordering food and drinks, you'll have to go in the back and order first before seating. Parking in the morning from 8-10am during the week is sweep street time and just wanna give you heads up!!
google avatar

Irma C.

Yelp
This spot is a really nice place to visit and have some tasty desserts. We Had the Waffles they were good a little soft for my taste but the fruit was fresh and very sweet. We ordered the Avocado Toast as well and it comes with two toasts one comes with an egg the other does not, the cheese and tomato was good toast was a good choice overall a decent meal for the price. Service was fine you order and the bring you the food to the table. Parking is difficult to find and paid parking is $25 but if your lucky and get parking you can walk around the back and walk by the beach
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Went over here in the morning to have some nice breakfast to start the day! We got in pretty fast, and it was medium busy I'd say. The environment here is amazing... great seating and just a great vibe. To be completely honest, the food was just okay, not extraordinary. The breakfast sandwich with the croissant was just the croissant with the things inside and honestly should have had maybe a little bit more food like a side for its price. Avocado toast wasn't really the best; it should have been made with homemade avocados instead of store bought. Overall, I liked this place but I felt like it needed a few more tweaks to perfect it.
google avatar

Calina N.

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally got to try Molly's after passing it all the time while driving down on Mission Blvd. The tropical rooftop vibe and healthy food options really caught my attention. The parking is a bit difficult on the weekends. There is a parking lot nearby but it's about $10+ an hour. I opted to drive around and find free street parking instead. The concept here is that you order first and receive a number to bring to your table of choice. Pick up pastries and drinks at the counter and they will deliver your food to your table. There isn't much options but just enough if you want a quick breakfast or lunch. My friend and I got the Shakshouka and Mission Beach Breakfast. Both were enough to fill us up and was pretty good. I wasn't blown away by my food but the iced white mocha that i got was incredible. I would definitely come back here for a coffee. Prices were pretty reasonable for being in a prime location and service was quick and friendly. Overall, this is a cute beachside cafe to catch up with friends or grab a bite before heading down the ocean which is literally just a few steps away.
google avatar

Sean Z.

Yelp
Molly's is the sister company of Moe's next door. Molly's deals with mostly breakfast, brunch, coffee and pastry. The service was ok. Nothing spectacular. The price was slightly high. The food was prepared within a timely manner. The coffee and food was ok...nothing special. I did not even bother to take a pic. I feel there were better choices if you decide to walk a little further down the street. Overall, it gets a 3.4 out of 5. It's a mehhhh.
google avatar

Trinity C.

Yelp
Super expensive and touristy restaurant, but the ambience definitely makes up for that. I love doing work here because they have free WiFi and chargers all throughout the restaurant. However, they definitely up charge their drinks and food. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a chai and with tip it was around $35. The sandwich was small and just ok, but the chai was good! The service is friendly and the food came out fast. I love the vibe here, but the food and drinks aren't worth the price point in my opinion.
google avatar

Haylee M.

Yelp
Last minute decision to come here because we needed a brunch please which had some good vegetarian options and also good aesthetic. Finding parking on a Saturday afternoon was hard but the place was lovely. Really like the aesthetic - both upstairs and downstairs. Food was delicious as well. Only downside is that the portion size seemed quite small on some dishes. Good amount of portion for the drinks though. Turkey Sandwich 5/5 Love the abundance of Turkey inside! So so good. Bacon was crunchy - Definitely a good thing. All the flavors went really well together. Just needed a bit of hot sauce and then it was perfect! Side of Cauliflower 4/5 - There was barely any cauliflower in here so this was quite to disappointment. Maybe like 4 small florets, and a bunch of quinoa and chickpea mix. Flavor was okay - nothing special. Egg White Frittata 4/5 - quite cheesy and liked how much vegetable there was in there. But this was actually quite small in size (not worth the money I would say). Also needed hot sauce to get that extra kick of flavor. Roasted Sweet Potato Side 5/5 - This was really nice. Nice char on the sweet potatoes and flavor was good as well. Vegetable Wrap 5/5 - friend ordered this and he said he really liked it. Good and satisfying for a lunch meal. Guava Mojito - 5/5 - really delicious and refreshing. Husband and friend both got one each and like them.

Yelp
I enjoyed my breakfast at Molly's on a Sunday. At first I was skeptical based on other reviews but because I had gotten coffee there many times and enjoyed it, I decided to come here with my friends for Sunday breakfast. Everything was great. Food was yummy (shakahuka!) latte and quiche, service was great and ambiance. Def check this place out! And prices are not too expensive for San Diego.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
I thought the ambiance of the place was beautiful. All the staff was very friendly. I got a coffee and a turkey sandwich. The food was good but did not particularly impress me. There was no "wow factor". This would be a great place to go for brunch as a one time experience. I personally do not feel the need to go again.
google avatar

Chaitra M.

Yelp
Such a cute and casual place for delicious food! Popped in here with my friend while we were on our sunday hot girl walk. The exterior, open patio with a lively happy crowd, and the chic rattan decor caught my eye. Although the prices were a little steep for the portion sizes and menu offerings, the food in undeniably good and super worth it. I loved the tuna salad sandwich and roasted cauliflower side that I got. The sandwich came in a croissant which I didn't expect, but was pleasantly surprised by. We sat on the rooftop which has plenty of umbrellas and a shaded area with a couch next to the bar so you're not getting roasted put in the sun on hot days. Additionally, the staff was super friendly and cheerful which only added to the delightful experience. Molly's is the perfect place to indulge in a cute, filling, casual breakfast, lunch, or drinks in beautiful Mission Beach.

Yelp
Mollys is an amazing new little spot very cool Tulum vibes with a rooftop deck and wonderful coffee and pastries and everything pretty much. Had the entire menu now the first part of this review I started when it first opened. Now it's a go to for great coffee good pizza and a nice breakfast love the vibes and the service plus the local feel. Next door is a must for butter cake. I'll go here anytime I'm feeling like I want something great for a high price it's not cheap but it's quality and worth it

Yelp
Molly's is an excellent restaurant and bakery, with everything fresh-made and delicious. The staff is very accommodating, and make you feel entirely at home with smiling service. Brunch specialties are tremendous. So are their drinks (espresso martini comes highly recommended!). Outdoor seating was comfortable and open, and there is a rooftop patio that makes it feel less crowded in peak hours. You should go here -- it is very good.

Yelp
Molly's is the first cafe I have encountered in which there was inside seating, an outdoor covered patio, and a rooftop deck. Located in the heart of Mission Beach, half of the former Saska's footprint was transformed into this Tulum-inspired, two-story setup. The other half is now a steakhouse (Moe's) which is under the same ownership. A pizzeria was the last business to occupy the space before this cafe. One drawback of being on the beachfront is the lack of parking. Open curbside spaces were very difficult to find, especially on the weekends. Since my visit early last month, the hours of operation have been modified. They now open at 7:30 am with a closing time of 3 pm on Monday to Wednesday and 9 pm on Thursday to Sunday. The daytime menu had breakfast fare, Belgian waffles, sandwiches, salads, and sides. After 3 pm, the food was limited to pizzas and salads. The upstairs bar was where beer, wine, and well over a dozen craft cocktails were prepared. You order at the service counter and then take a number to a table where a server can locate you. At the counter were multiple displays of baked goods and pastries. I picked two items to bring home for later consumption. They were a Cinnamon Roll and an Egg Pesto Bun. The cream frosting on the roll was so decadent. The bun was like a danish but instead of a sweet middle, there was a savory egg and pesto mixture. I ordered a Shakshouka as my dine-in item. Baked eggs, spicy tomato sauce, peppers, onions, bacon, spinach, and feta cheese were served in a small cast iron pan with three pieces of grilled bread on the side. If anything, I could have used more bread to help sop up the yummy stew. The food was solid, however what elevated my rating to five stars was the layout of Molly's. I didn't head upstairs to check out the deck, but based on the social media photos, I can imagine how nice it is up there to enjoy brunch on a sunny day.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's open seating at the rooftop for brunch, they also have a little cafe at the bottom where you can order coffee and pastries. The service was very friendly. I ordered the shakshuka and the cinnamon roll. They were both amazing and I'd order both of those again!

Yelp
I had tasty lemon blueberry muffin with a cappuccino. It is difficult to hear when your drink is ready when you are at your table.

Yelp
I took my cousin for a day around San Diego and mission beach was our first plan. We wanted to get some grub first and I had this place bookmarked so I thought it'd be perfect for a Saturday brunch. We made circles around the block looking for street parking and finally got lucky with a spot not far from Molly's. We walked in and I think him and I were both stunned by how sunny, open, and welcoming Molly's looked inside and out. There were a good amount of people around downstairs so we chose to sit up stairs for full service at a table not far the bar (heart eyes). Our service here was super fast, and so friendly! We both ordered the Mozzarella Italian Sammy, some pasta salad for a side, and I treated myself to their omg Bloody Mary. Our order was out within 10 minutes or so. The blood Mary was Killer!!! There was so many fixings on it that it felt like edible art. The bacon on it was a great touch to compliment the olive, creamy cheese, kale, and the tomato base cocktail. This drink was my favorite part. The sandwiches were both delicious as they were big. Neither of us finished all our food as we had leftovers. The bread on the sandwich was great quality, toasty where it needed to be, with a soft inside. I would happily return in the future when I am in the area and if I have luck with parking. Amazing restaurant!

Yelp
Cute brunch spot with delicious, health conscious food options. I tried the Mission Beach Breakfast Bowl and boy was it divine! The flavors were complementary to each other, and it was very filling. My friend tried the raspberry lemon muffin and said it was delicious as well. We'll definitely be back!
