Almost $16 for THIS avocado toast is actually insane - one piece of toast and sloppily made. They’ve also raised their prices across the board and any drinks are now almost $9. This was definitely my last time coming here, prices are absolutely not worth the mediocre drinks/food.

Google
Bright and relaxed cafe that serves good coffee and pastries. I tried their almond croissant which was very sizable, and not too buttery or sweet.

I just wanted to share a bit of feedback as a regular customer who truly enjoys your establishment. I love this place—I’ve been coming here consistently and always order the same drink, which is a small part of why it feels so familiar and welcoming. That said, I’ve noticed a shift in service quality recently, particularly with newer staff. During my last two visits, my orders have been either incomplete or inaccurate, which is unusual based on the standard I’ve come to expect from you all. I’m sharing this in the spirit of support, not complaint—I’d really love to see the level of care and consistency return to what made me a regular in the first place.

So overpriced for what you’re getting. The soft serve was good but not worth $12. It was served in a cup the size of a literal shot glass. Looks like what you serve an espresso shot in.

Mom's and Pops in Mosaic District is such a cute and welcoming little spot that feels like a real neighborhood hangout amidst all the buzz of Mosaic. It's got that charming, unpretentious vibe that makes you feel right at home. What I love about Mom's and Pops is the focus on those classic comfort foods done right. Think delicious, hearty sandwiches piled high with fresh ingredients, and really satisfying soups that taste like they've been simmering all day. They've also got a great selection of baked goods – those cookies and pastries are seriously tempting! It's the kind of food that just makes you feel good, like a warm hug on a plate. The atmosphere is really what sets it apart. It's cozy and unpretentious, with a real sense of community. You'll often see locals stopping in for a quick bite or lingering over a coffee. The staff are always friendly and make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time there. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy a good meal without any fuss. Mom's and Pops is also a great spot for a casual lunch or a quick coffee and pastry. It's got that perfect balance of quality food and a laid-back atmosphere. If you're in the Mosaic District and looking for a place with genuine charm and delicious, comforting food, definitely check out Mom's and Pops. It's a little taste of home amidst the trendy shops and restaurants, and it's become one of my favorite spots to unwind and grab a bite.

Google
Cute little spot at Mosaic district. On a chilly night 33° temp calls for a hot chocolate. Ordered Hot chocolate with oat milk, mint tea and apple cider. It was busy but not too busy. People were enjoying the chilly weather, music, Xmas lights and sipping some hot cuppa. Hot chocolate was good, not too sweet. Would like to try their iced lattes some day ( in not so chilly weather). Overall great spot for hot beverages.

Google
Don’t get the “Rocky matcha latte,” it was straight milk. The employee was kind enough to add another shot matcha, however it was still just milk tasting. Matcha should be naturally sweet, I should not have to add additional sweetener to like a drink.

Google
Not the cheapest place for coffee. Small dirty chai for $7.50. But it's a nice atmosphere, with friendly staff

Yelp
Mom & Pop Coffee Shop are true lifesavers, especially during the colder seasons! You really can't go wrong with any of their drinks, but my personal favorite is the hot chocolate-so delicious! I recently tried their brownie, and wow-it was soft and truly delightful. My only concern is the size of the cafe. It can sometimes be challenging to find a seat and table, especially when larger groups come in and settle for a long time. Overall, this spot is a gem. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Highly inefficient pick up system where people who are waiting to pick up their orders are jammed like sardines in a small and crowded space. I ordered a seasonal hot chocolate on a cold December day, which was quite pricy at $5.75 for a small and $8.25 for a large before taxes. Substituting to a milk alternative also costs an extra $1.30. The store is highly disorganized and it seems like the staff are extremely backed up and theres about 20-30 people waiting for their order. It's also quite small and kind of dirty, I also see the barista just pulling the milk from a gallon on the counter and not a fridge - is milk supposed to be left out in room temperature all day? However, at the very least, my $7+ ($5.75 + $1.30) tiny hot chocolate was pretty decent tasting. The hot chocolate was rich and decadent and actually not overly sweet. It would be a worthwhile hot chocolate for a lux splurge - if getting a hot chocolate wasn't a 45 minute time investment and customers aren't rolling the dice with who-knows-how-long all those milks have been out (at least they were out the entire 45 min I was there, so who knows how many hours it actually was).

Yelp
Seriously the nicest baristas ever! I buy a bag of their espresso every week and if they don't have it in stock they will go across the street to see if they can hook me up. They also almost always open the doors for me when I have my stroller. It's little things like that make me want to come back again and again. Their coffee (roasted by Cafe Unido) is the BEST in town. Like literally the scent fills my entire house and makes me want to dance. And since it's pumpkin spice season, their Dolcezza made syrup is the BEST I've ever had. All the warming spices will be sure to put a kick in your day. Sign up for rewards if you come often, it is totally worth it.

Yelp
I stopped by here with my family for a quick pick-me-up while hanging out in the Mosaic district. It's a small shop but pretty quick ordering process, good menu for drinks + pastries, and enough seating for us to find a spot! I ordered a hot chai and we split a few pastries. The chai was delicious and good drinking temperature. We tried the coffee cake which was delicious and then also a layered flaky fruity pastry which was also tasty. Overall, standard coffee shop but great location and quick service in Mosaic District!

Yelp
Had a rough morning so the only thing to make it better was to go get breakfast. We wanted to try this small coffee shop located at Mosaic District. We got tried a latte and some seasonal cider that were pretty good. Their food was even better though. The croissant was super flakey and had creamy scrambled eggs mixed with cheese. The Smoked Salmon Tartine was light and refreshing. Nice little spot that definitely made my day a lot better!

Yelp
It's my go-to coffee stop in mosaic district! A cute little shop in the center that's usually quite packed. I like that they have a variety of menu items (including black sesame lattes, matcha and chais). My only complaint is their ratio of tea to milk. It's just way too much milk for me personally. My sister ordered their chocolate and buttered croissants. They were warmed, fresh and flaky. It's a great staple to have in mosaic.

Yelp
I visited Mom & Pop Coffee Shop on a Sunday morning with a friend. I ordered a Vanilla Bean Latte, which was prepared quickly despite the crowd. They initially made it cold instead of hot, but once I mentioned this, they promptly made a new hot latte for me without hesitation. The staff is incredibly kind, quick, and professional. The shop itself is small with limited seating both inside and outside, but its location is perfect, especially with the farmers market right outside on Sunday mornings. While I didn't try the breakfast items since they weren't to my taste, the menu offers a range of unique beverages. I usually go for a chai latte, but the vanilla bean latte was a delightful change and absolutely delicious. The shop has a charming, aesthetic vibe and, despite its size, runs efficiently. I highly recommend Mom & Pop Coffee Shop to anyone in the Fairfax area. It's a cool spot with plenty of beverage options, just be mindful of the limited seating.

Yelp
Omg this place is awesome! Creative bake goods! Had to try to crogel (Croissant and bagel)! It was creative and fun! I do think it desperately needed a side of whipped cream cheese on top, inside or in a cup on the side. By itself the everything seasoning is very salty. The blue berry muffin was really tasty and they heated both the baked goods up upon request! I really like this little shop with gelato ice cream and push pops to go! Mango champagne I'll be back for you! Excited to try some of their other offerings another day.

Yelp
Overly priced coffee shop for average tasting coffee. The location is what has it going for them. It's in the heart of mosaic district right in front of the splash pads so it's convenient to get coffee. Their breakfast sandwiches and pastries are good, but not worth it for the price point. They are a lot more expensive than other places. Last I remember breakfast sandwiches are close to $15. The coffee is also not the greatest compared to other coffee shops in Northern VA, but again, the location makes it convenient. If possible, look elsewhere for coffee and food

Yelp
Quick line, speedy service, & delicious drinks - baked goods are delightful too. Better coffee quality than other places in Fairfax I've been too recently and conveniently located in the heart of Mosaic. I enjoyed my latte so much I got a second one immediately after, and this is probably the only place you can find hip & trendy music during the later hours of the day. Forgot about this gem but was happy to visit.

Yelp
Small matcha no whip cream - $10.60 I'm not sure if I was overcharged, but I've never bought a matcha anything drink for more than $10 before. Maybe it's post Covid and the supply chain issue is still a thing. Regardless, matcha was good, and service was good.

Yelp
I get a different sandwich result every time I order. Today it had the smallest portion of smoked salmon yet, and missing the cucumbers and chives entirely. I want my $16 back. Get your standards up. Train your people.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
It's a small place and can get crowded quick. There is plenty of outdoor sitting space though! I had their dulce de leche iced latte, tasty but not worth the price $6.75 for a medium coffee. It was a quick grab & go but would rather get starbucks for that price.

Yelp
The Mom & Pop Coffee Shop is a small stand-alone joint located in the Mosaic District retail complex. Pretty busy place. I got in line - ordered a large cold brew with Half n' Half (turns out you add the creamer yourself) - and a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit - with extra cheese - to go. Paid at the register with Apple Pay. Added the Half n' Half - the Cold Brew was strong and delicious! The biscuit was excellent! The eggs were very creamy, the bacon was delicious, and that may be one of the best biscuits I've had in a long time. The texture was perfect! The place is rather small on the inside - there is some seating inside - and more outside. Highly recommended! I will be back! #MomAndPopCoffeeShop

Yelp
Really wanted to like this spot as it is cute, well located in Mosaic, and fills a need for morning eats in the area. Walking in you see they have limited seating and usually a line. Service was OK - not super prompt and we were not notified when our order was ready. We got some pastries (croissant) and one of the egg dishes. Food was fine, not amazing but totally ok. Biggest negative are the prices - really really high, even for the DC area and Mosaic. Not great value for money.

Yelp
On a freezing Tuesday, we decided on a whim to stop by Mom & Pop Coffee Shop - not to warm up with coffee or tea, but to get some soft serve! And there it was, a large swirl of hazelnut and vanilla, in a huge cup. We walked back through Mosaic savoring every bite of smooth, silky ice-cream-gelatto-soft-serve. Call it what you want, it was delicious! The flavors were mild but distinct and not too sweet. It went down easy and we *almost* went back for a second helping. 'Til next time - if you're at Mosaic, drop in to the Mom & Pop Coffee Shop and try the soft serve. It's amazing!

Yelp
Consistently good coffee. I've enjoyed their lattes, hot chocolate, hot cider, and relished their seasonal blueberry lemonade during the summer. This spot is consistently crowded, yet they manage to streamline the service, minimizing your wait time. While the indoor space is too cramped and chaotic for work or study, I do appreciate relaxing on their patio when the weather allows. Overall, it's a great place to grab a coffee or tea and take a walk around Mosaic.
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
I like this out of the view, but in the center of everything cafe! How could one not enjoy the coffee, tea, food, and baked goods? Everything is made well and can be enjoyed in the many seats found surrounding the inside and outside of the cafe. Great people- watching views on every side and also great spots of privacy using plants and umbrellas. It's a nice pit stop during all of the shopping in the MOSAIC. You can also sit and watch the outdoor movie on the grassy side.

Yelp
Went this morning for coffee and croissants. I got the PSL and pumpkin croissant. Both 10/10. Will be coming back tomorrow! Already looking forward to being a regular when I visit from out of town.

Yelp
Mom & Pop Coffee Shop in the Mosaic District is a delightful spot for coffee enthusiasts. The outdoor area is a standout feature, offering a cozy nook right in the heart of Mosaic's vibrant main area. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy your coffee while soaking in the lively atmosphere of the district. The shop itself has a welcoming charm, making it a great place to unwind or catch up with friends. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!
google avatar

Yulee K.

Yelp
They have really unique coffee flavors that are so fun to try. Right in the heart of Mosaic District so you can grab a coffee and walk around to shop. There is minimal seating so don't expect it to be a sit and chat type of cafe.
google avatar

Vina H.

Yelp
This place is a little coffee shop that is located in the middle of mosaic district. It's super easy to find. Shop can get pretty busy but we ended getting here first thing in the morning when it opens so not too bad. Pricey and quality is okay, not bad but not impressive either. I got my vanilla hazelnut and a sandwich, sandwich was hot but other than that it tasted pretty ordinary.
google avatar

Melody Y.

Yelp
This cafe has a lot to offer! Food, baked goods, and coffee/teas. Matcha latte with oat milk: it was very creamy and overall good. I probably wouldn't get it again since it was over $9 for this latte. They charge $1.25 extra for milk substitute. I didn't try any of their food but I would come back and try other menu items.
google avatar

Jessalyn L.

Yelp
This is a cute place in the heart of mosaic district. Coffee and pastries. My friend seemed to enjoy his coffee and very large almond croissant. I had spiced apple cider which was good, but probably not worth the price ($5-6!) Its tiny inside, only a few tables and barely room to stand and wait for your order without blocking the door. Plenty of outdoor seating but not very comfortable chairs.

Luke P.

Yelp
Coffee was terrible, watery, burnt, and sugary. A diabetic would love it tho. Also load and crowded for no reason, people here have no taste.
google avatar

Alex Z.

Yelp
Makes me really sad to write this update, but we've been coming to Mom and Pops for ~3 years now. The product itself is still very good when it's right: great lattes, delicious pastries, delicious breakfast sandwiches and burritos. But the issue is price and consistency. It's by far the most expensive coffee house in the area and every single time I come, I have just become accustomed to something being wrong. I'm not sure if it's because they're always slammed or poor training of new hires, but multiple times our orders will be completely wrong. Will order a sandwich with no cheese, comes with cheese, then they act annoyed when you ask them to remake it. Multiple times we've ordered a latte where they did not froth the milk at all, and basically just added straight milk to coffee. When you are spending this much, you deserve consistency. And it's sad, because their coffee and food is good -- their service is not.
google avatar

Marryam S.

Yelp
Mom & Pop is definitely not a typical mom and pop coffee shop. It belongs to Dolcezza which is not a mom and pop shop. It sits in prime location in Mosaic district in Merrifield right across the street from its mother company store Dolcezza gelato store. Mom &Pop is very expensive and quality is ok. The tables do not get cleaned on a regular basis and they are dirty, the trash is always overfilled.Lots of people are sitting inside using the free Internet. There is really no place to wait for your order no matter where you stand you are on the way.
google avatar

Kate Z.

Yelp
Always impressed by the food, quality and customer service here. The mocha latte is excellent with that perfect balance of sweet chocolate and bitter coffee. The alphejores was surprisingly delicious, so much so that I went back and bought a couple more! The ambiance is calm and cozy during the lunch hour, with some seeming inside and outside. Great place for a quick pit stop in Mosaic!
google avatar

Brandee B.

Yelp
great customer service but the matcha was DISGUSTING and the coffee was too..im not a big dunkin fan at all but id choose dunkin over here ANYDAY ..i was highly disappointed
google avatar

Edmundo M.

Yelp
The staff was very kind to my little boy, even in the midst of a HUGE rush they were patient listened to him order. The shop is great even though it is small they managed to place the indoor seating just right so that the ordering line doesn't interfere. We love the locations outdoor seating along with the turf/grass my kiddos love being able to sit outside and enjoy the area. My family always makes the effort to stop by and enjoy their coffee.
google avatar

Marissa J.

Yelp
Went here out curiosity, once you open the door the aroma of coffee take over your sense of smell. The smell is powerful and and delicious. The restaurant has plenty of coffee flavor, it has assorted of bread and ham and breakfast options . The restaurant also has lunch option toasts and biscuit and variety of sandwiches. The restaurant is located in the beautiful mosaic district which is easy to access for entrance points. The parking is free but I recommend to go early and weekday to avoid the weekend crowd in the plaza. Food can range from $12-15 depending in what you order.
google avatar

Shawn F.

Yelp
Decent coffee shop in a good location. It's also open late which is nice. I tried their meadow tea and an almond croissant which were both pretty good. The coffee shop has a few tables but is small. This shop is part of Dolcezza so I'd say it's probably best to grab and go coffee, or just head over to the Dolcezza gelato place for some coffee and dessert if you're looking for something fancy.
google avatar

H And R R.

Yelp
Mmmmmmmmmmmm yummy yummy in my tummy tummy. Thank you to the amazing barista. The baristas need a few more aesthetic pins to seal the deal.
google avatar

Yelp
Trendy little spot for food & drinks. My matcha was pretty tasty but the vegan scone was dry & tasteless. I'd return for the drinks.
google avatar

Vee R.

Yelp
Small but a great place to stop by and enjoy coffee!! there's probably about several seats here, so please come first serve, you can order anything from coffee, tea, sandwiches, or soft serve ice cream. Staff is friendly and it's a Silletti is clean. You'll love the design center lattes

Ellie C.

Yelp
I have passed by this shop at least a hundred times thinking it was a popcorn store, since it's right next to the theaters and its name had "Pop" in it, which I thought was a clever indicator. Lo and behold, it's a coffee shop! They have a nice selection of refrigerated drinks as well as coffee. Their lattes were pretty tasty! It's a very small coffee shop with a few tables and outdoor seating as well. Service was speedy and friendly.
google avatar

Darcie W.

Yelp
I'm actually in disbelief. For $5 for a simple brewed coffee you would think they can figure out how to keep it from being full of grounds, and in a cup that lasts more than 5 min without the coffee soaking through. I'm lucky I had a thermos in my car cause the paper cup was literally giving out. The girl at the Register was also rude and 100% lost in the sauce. I asked her what roast they had brewed and she says "ummmmm it's umm.........that" and gestures towards a bag way on the back shelf which has a tiny label with 12pt font that no one can read. Helpful! For 2 coffees and 1 croissant, it was $17. You would think there would be some quality behind it. This place used to be great, 5 years ago. I won't be back again
google avatar

Hanaa B.

Yelp
Had a wonderful chat with the girls at mom and pap today! Mashallah they were so kind and smart about their coffe. My cup had pretty art in it, very cute. The pastry I got was hard but they were so nice about getting another one. amber and bosma were so nice go check them out quickly !
google avatar

Mike Z.

Yelp
Small shop with small tables as well. Descent power outlets, although you will need to bother your neighbor to plug in. Mocha was good, as was the salmon. And they are open late, which is hard to find.
google avatar

Sung Hee K.

Yelp
Underwhelming in every way. Average coffee. Service was not the best. Barista got my order wrong and then argued with me about why I should keep the mistaken drink. The place is all glass so it's like being in a greenhouse with no shade. We wanted coffee at Mosaic and it was the closest spot that's not a franchise so we went in to give it a try. Next time I will go to Starbucks.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
Smallish space with very limited seating (given how popular and busy it is!) they serve breakfast foods, baked goods, and all kinds of coffee and tea drinks. It's on the pricey side for sure, but feels good to support a local shop. Also note that they are cash free!
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
We were in the area for the Toimoi Bakery, at the local farmers market. I we couldn't have croissants without coffee so we walked to Mom & Pop, to feed our coffee addiction. The person who helped me was super sweet. She added rose water to my matcha, and told me if I didn't like it she would make me a new drink. It is pretty small, and can get busy fairly quickly, but it is worth the wait. We will be back again.
google avatar

Kamath V.

Yelp
7 dollars for a god damn small man cha coffee. Nothing justifies the price. Staff is good. Ambience is ok.
google avatar

SuJin C.

Yelp
Cute little cafe. I love getting brunch and drinks here. Their Croissant sandwiches and avocado toasts are very yummy. My favorite drink is cold Matcha Americano. No pesky milk to smoothen the flavor of the matcha (matcha with water); it's best for the purist at heart. I also really like Matcha Gibraltar. There's less milk than latte and uses cooler temperature of the steamed milk to dilute the flavor of matcha. Alfajores are very good if you want something sweet. I also love their gelato pints, but if you are planning on walking around, then you can hop over to Dolcezza across the street to get gelato (more selections available - same company). Great place to work and to hangout with friends. Outdoor seatings are available as well :)
google avatar

Edward R.

Yelp
Tiniest $5 cold brew. Do not recommend unless you like overpriced coffee shops. Nope shop elsewhere.
google avatar

Wendy R.

Yelp
Wayyyy overpriced. I'm willing to pay extra for my non-moo juice, but $1.25 for any kind of non dairy option just seems ridiculously over the top for anywhere that has commercial pricing options. My small (probably 8 oz) chai latte - not even filled, **which honestly they do really ineffectively, having watched her steam enough for two and toss the rest (why the high prices mom & pop?) ** was $5.60. So total, with tip, almost $10 to sit with my cup on their tiny patio. I might have been better off going to target for water and sitting on the plaza..
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
Mom & Pop is located at the heart of Mosaic District and always a go-to spot for coffee! This place is always packed with a line, however it usually goes by quick. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk. A little over priced for the size, but it seems like the only coffee shop located close by. Unfortunate that they don't have any public bathrooms for customers either. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! It's nice that they have umbrellas to shade the sun during those warm sunny days. Dog friendly as well for outdoor seating.
google avatar

Anushka M.

Yelp
Cute shop right in the middle of mosaic district. Location is great to grab some coffee in between shopping or if you're waiting for the farmers market to open like me! I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. I happened to come when there was no rush so I ordered quick and got my drink within 5 minutes. Lots of seating is available both inside and out. I sat outside with my dog and enjoyed some relaxing. My drink was good, a little overpriced for a small but I didn't notice any other coffee shops nearby within walking distance. Overall really nice place!

Christy K.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop! I love the iced vanilla latte! Always so good! The coffee is so smoothe and I love stopping here and grabbing a croissant with it.
