Fantastic coffee shop! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, looking for a snack. I got a perfectly-made cappuccino and daughter got a iced vanilla Chai tea, which she enjoyed. She also got granola and yogurt which hit the spot, and I got the cinnamon toast.
The cinnamon toast! Oh my, that was the best! The bread was a very thick slice of sourdough bread with a generous topping of cinnamon, sugar and butter. The bread! So good - it was real San Francisco-style sourdough with that great tang and it was soft and chewy inside. The flavors all went together perfectly - it was not the ordinary cinnamon toast I was expecting. I almost wanted to sneak into the kitchen area and swipe a loaf of that bread, but I did not.
I love that the shop is in an old house. Great seating inside where we were -- multiple nooks to create your space in -- and also outside in the side yard. Parking on the street was no problem on this Sunday afternoon. They also sell wine but I didn't check out their collection on this trip - but I'll be back!
Side note: you'll find more info on the owners and their mom on the website. I felt an affinity since I also lived to SF Bay Area for years, and then moved back to Cincinnati. And frankly I like the name Mom and 'Em's, even though in reading the back story of this shop, my daughter Em and I interpreted the name incorrectly. No matter, for us, this will be Mom and Em's!
