MoMA Design Store - Midtown

MoMA Design Store- Midtown was a huge disappointment. I visited the MoMA Design Store- Midtown after visiting The MoMA which is across the street. This store was on my NYC to-do list because I had seen it in several videos online, and it looked like it had really cute, unique items inside. There were nice items here, but it was mostly underwhelming than what I expected. I would say that majority of things sold here are also sold at The MoMA store itself and The MoMA museum store has much nicer people and a better shopping experience than this store. At MoMA Design Store- Midtown, the staff completely ruined my shopping experience. They were extremely rude, and I was shocked at how terrible the customer service was. I particularly had a bad experience with one of the older female employees. Her customer service and how she treats customers should not be allowed. I visited the store after shopping at the museum store inside of The MoMA. This particular older female employee followed me through the entire store while I shopped. I understand I had bags, but to target, stalk, and harass customers just for simply having shopping bags with them while shopping here is terrible. I would give 0 stars if I could. I do not recommend MoMA Design Store- Midtown and would avoid this store.

• Amazing store with lots of cute home and kitchen items. • Their MoMA-themed apparel also looks great, with a nice selection of colors. • Unfortunately, the experience at the counter today wasn’t pleasant. The staff member changed the item I was purchasing in a rush, and I had to ask if I could choose for myself. She agreed, but seemed visibly annoyed. • I also paid for a bag and requested the bigger size, which was refused. Despite paying for it, I was given the smallest bag, again in an unfriendly manner. Overall, I hope the customer service improves in the future, as it unfortunately spoiled what should have been a happy shopping experience at the MoMA.

They displayed many different items and you really can spend some time browsing through these items sections by sections. This is also a place to get some unique souvenir if you're tired of the regular I love New York t shirts!

An well curated collection of classic and contemporary design elements covering home, technology, textiles and even entertainment. Many of the selections are mini replicas of larger exhibit items from the museum, some are inspired by their exhibits. Great shop, unique products.

I was here on Monday, a lot of tourists. Many created stuff with good functionality. Staff were good service and helpful.

The MoMA design store is a wonderful place to gift shop. They have a lot of very unique decorations and practical house items. This is a great stop before or after visiting the museum. It is also nice to go to as an independent endeavor. Every piece there looks perfectly curated. It's good for tourists and New Yorkers alike.
