Momentum Coffee North Lawndale

This is based on my first visit here while looking for a cafe traveling in between alternative schools in the area for work. Abby provided excellent service by greeting me and engaging in friendly conversation while answering all my questions regarding the menu items. I ordered a chicken sausage and egg breakfast sandwich and almond croissant, both of which were tasty and warmed up just right. The space and the bathroom was clean.

I went to this place over 10 times only because it was close to my work and wanted to support a black owned business. However, it is really not good at all. Every time I went in the workers never greeted me or made me feel welcome. Which is fine but when you have gone every day that week u would think the environment would be more welcoming. The coffee itself is overpriced, i don't care if other coffee shops charge similar prices the quality here is mediocre at best. You seriously need to improve your product quality.

The coffee is very average and overpriced. The employees never greeted me or displayed good customer service except for an older white woman that worked there the last time I went there. Ive been here many times ONLY because i drink coffee a lot and it’s close to my job. I can provide proof that my claims are NOT baseless and I have in fact spent a considerable amount of money at this business. However, that is only because its close to my job. Since seeing how the ownership disrespected my valid review i have decided to not come here anymore. I think the owners need to learn to take constructive criticism and not try to make baseless accusations that my opinion is invalid just because my review was negative. I am confident that for many months I was one of your more consistent clients because every time I went in the establishment it was EMPTY. My aim was to give constructive and HONEST feedback because i hoped things would improve. Nonetheless, i hope you learn and improve the way you digest the feedback you receive moving forward. ATTACHED IS SOME PROOF OF SOME OF THE VISITS I MADE. So you can apologize for the “false accusation” comments made previously.

Every time I come here they’re not open or the doors locked, despite there being a sign on the door that shows their hours of operation. Last week I went and It said they opened at 7 am but around 8 am the doors were still locked and a worker was in there. I hate crossing the street and walking all the way over there in the cold when 75% of the time their doors are locked.

This is a new coffee shop in the Ogden Commons. The service is friendly and welcoming, baked goods are locally sourced, the cafe is clean, the bathrooms are clean, and my Americano was decent. This coffee spot could be improved in several ways, primary among them would be that they are committing the same error as the failed jerk chicken restaurant previously next-door. Price. A small Americano was just shy of five dollars. This is silly, especially for this area. Does Intelligentsia in the loop even charge this for an Americano? At least have an ambiance to justify the cost. This brings me to aesthetic. It looks like they hired the same person for their mural as the failed chicken place. It is downright unpleasant to look at, or perhaps unfinished? The table area is sterile and unwelcoming. I really want to like this place and am willing to give it another shot since it’s so local to me, but adjustments need to happen. Muse Coffee is on western until then.

Was so excited when this place opened up in the neighborhood. Comments on food and drink aside, they never seem to be open! I’ve walked over to get coffee on several occasions and the shop has been closed. I now call before I think about going, and nobody answers the phone. Unfortunate because I wanted to like this place.

I ordered a sandwich on Uber eats because it was recommended (and a tumeric latte) I was so surprised by the quality. I’m pretty close and excited to visit in person next time.

The staff was very kind and welcoming at this location such a pleasure dealing with them and they were very knowledgeable on the business.
