An Authentic Nepalese Gem – A Must-Visit! I can confidently say Momo Houses is the real deal. The flavours are rich, authentic, and bursting with traditional spices. Portions are big, and the staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive. It truly feels like a home away from home. I recently took my host along, and she absolutely fell in love with the place. It was a joy to see someone new experience such genuine hospitality and incredible food. One important note: please respect the kitchen hours. Calling ahead is basic courtesy, and turning up at 9:25 PM with 10 guests unannounced is unacceptable. If it were up to me, I’d turn you away in a heartbeat! A place this special deserves to be treated with the same respect it offers every guest.

The food tasted incredibly fresh and delicious, and the portions were generous. Nice server, she was attentive, the entire dining experience was amazing.

Just tried the Chicken Kothey Momo at Momo House, and wow – absolutely amazing! 🔥 Crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside – it had that perfect authentic Nepali taste I’ve been craving. The spices were just right, and the dipping sauce took it to the next level. If you’re a momo lover, this place is a must-try. 🥟💯 Highly recommend for anyone looking for real, authentic momos!

Absolutely Delicious – A Hidden Gem for Authentic Flavors Momo House is hands-down one of the best spots in town if you’re craving authentic Nepali flavors. Every visit has been a five-star experience—fresh food, friendly service, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The momos are the star of the show—perfectly steamed or fried, with tender fillings and that signature dipping sauce that brings it all together. You can tell everything is made with care and tradition. I also tried the chow mein and chili chicken, and both were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Service is always warm and attentive without being overbearing. The staff genuinely cares that you’re enjoying your meal. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and the quality is consistent every time. Whether you’re new to Nepali cuisine or already a fan, Momo House is a must-visit. Five stars, no question. I’ll definitely be coming back!

OMG! 🤩 Tried Chicken Steamed Momos from Momo House for the first time via Uber and I’m seriously impressed! 🥟🔥 The momos were fresh, juicy and that spicy chutney was a total game-changer! 🌶️❤️ Perfect for spice lovers! I don’t usually review, but they totally deserve this! Can’t wait to dine in and try all their varieties! 😍🙌

I’ve visited this place multiple times and have always been impressed by its atmosphere, food, and hospitality. The food is exceptional; they genuinely put in the effort to prepare it, and I thoroughly enjoy it. However, I’d like to bring to your attention a policy that they have, which is not familiar or mentioned, that I recently came to know for 5 or more people .It’s a mandatory tip policy. This policy seems quite unusual and unfamiliar, especially considering that people usually give tip without mentioning it. They’ve even provided us with receipts without mentioning the tip policy. Therefore, I strongly advise you to inquire about the tip policy before dining at this restaurant. No offense intended, just a friendly reminder. 🫰

I had an amazing experience at Momo House! Their chili momos were absolutely delicious—perfectly crispy, flavorful, and packed with just the right amount of spice. The highlight of my visit was the outstanding service from Puja. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. I highly recommend Momo House to anyone who loves great food and excellent service. Can't wait to visit again! If u like it spicy just say level 5 spice lol

Google
Great vegetarian food. Me and my wife went for lunch ordered 1 veg thukpa, 1 plate fried veg momos, 1 soupy veg momos , we ate full and had enough for dinner. Please have patience and be ready to wait for food to come out after ordering. Food is 100% worth the wait. Spicy level is medium by default and they give you extra spicy sauce as well.

Yelp
So if you're thinking of trying Momo House, you absolutly should! Pulling up to the parking lot, I realized that this is kind of like a hole in the wall situation - somewhat of a sketchy area if you go in the evening. But for some reason, that's why I knew it would be good lol! The person that took my order was very friendly - she suggested the chili momo and mentioned that it was really popular since it had a sweet and spicy flavor, but I ended up going with the jhol chicken momo and it was soooo delicious! The price is decent as well for the amount of food. The sauce is just the right amount of spicy and fragrant. I pretty much started drinking it toward the end lol. And the dumplings - so juicy and the chicken - just wow. Tasted super fresh - I feel like the person who made this made it with love. I don't know how else to describe it. Pure joy!! I can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu, although I'm not sure I'll be able to resist getting the jhol momo again!

Yelp
The vegetable thali is really great. I also took home some vegetable momos and they were absolutely delicious in a unique way... I mean, who has heard of vegetable momos? I also love this place because they serve Carlsberg beer which may be the best beer on earth... right?

Yelp
10/10 - great comfort food. I order to go usually and haven't had a bad time yet. The portions are great and the curries are creamy.

Yelp
Amazing food. Definitely try their chilli and jhol momos along with the veggie chowmein. Service is quick and the staff is very friendly. Ambience is nice with some nepali music running on a TV!

Yelp
Food- 10/10 The food quality hasn't changed since I came here almost 3 years ago. Superb! Ambiance- It's a simple set up and that's all you need. There are Nepalese decorations along the walls. Service- 10/10 The young woman serving us was the only available but she was always around and was really sweet. Please come check this place out. I don't think enough people know about it and food is great. I highly recommend the Chilly Momo, Jhol Momo and the Veg Chow Mein.

Yelp
Momo House - Pathetic, Disgraceful, Worst Ever! I've been here a lot, I come often, and while the food was okay before, the servers were ALWAYS rude. But this time? Total disaster. Food was terrible, and when we asked for a change, they lost it--started SCREAMING at us at the table like lunatics. When we asked for their names, they ran inside like cowards. Never seen anything this bad. Rude staff, horrible food, and a toxic vibe. I don't care how many times I've been here--never again. This place is DONE for me. Negative stars if I could. Avoid at all costs!

Yelp
My Nepalnese friends told me "we've been wanting to take you here to try this place." When I saw that Momo House was located on Hilcroft (area known for good ethnic food), I had high hopes that this place will be good. I usually don't venture to this area. Since I arrived on my own in the evening time, I did my best to pay attention to the surroundings. Upon arrival, I find it in a rundown center. The lights on the outside sign were not all on. This place comes across as a hole in the wall type of place. Parking was easy though. I trusted my friends so they ordered everything in the photos. However, there is a barcode on the table that will get you to their menu. Food came out pretty quickly and more of a rolling delivery. Food wise, here's what we got and my thoughts on each: 1) Buffalo with Beaten Rice - This was my first time trying Water Buffalo. It reminded me of beef. The seasoning was great. It is a bit on the dry side so almost like a jerky. The beaten rice was new to me too. It reminded me of oatmeal. The rice together with the Buffalo jerky was good. 2) Chicken Skewers - It looked good when it came out so I had high hopes for these. I thought it was okay. The sauce was a bit more on the spicy side. 3) Chili Buffalo Momo - These are fried dumplings with Water Buffalo as the stuffing. I've only had steamed momos so this style was new for me. I loved the chili sauce that it made tossed in. Their chili sauce is like a Chinese sweet and sour sauce cooked with bell peppers and onions. 4) Chili Soybean - My favorite dish! It's in the same sauce as the Chili Buffalo Momo. The soybean reminded me of fried tofu. I could kill this whole plate on my own and really think it would pair well with some white rice. 5) Chicken Momos - These are steamed dumplings with chicken as the filling. There were two dipping sauces. It's a good standard momo. There were a few times when the heat got to me and glad the server refilled my drink when she did. Overall, everything was tasty for the most part. I also enjoyed trying some more authentic Nepalese dishes as well. Looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
Legit Nepalese food, this is the reason why Houston is why I believe Houston is a top tier food destination in the world. There's just so much diversity in food, and Momo House certainly contributes to that culinary melting pot. There's quite a bit to choose from, from momos (dumplings) in more clear broths, to momos in curries, to noodles. There's a mix of meat and vegetarian options. Prices are very fair! The spicy sauce they provide on the side packs a PUNCH, highly recommend stirring in a little at a time. I got the chicken thukpa, which was like a rich chicken noodle soup, pretty healthy and flavorful. Decent amount of parking available. I would say two areas of improvement: the TV volume was a little higher than preferred, and if there was a way to make the menu a little more helpful for those not familiar with Nepali food. We asked the waitress who was nice enough to explain, but we limited the number of questions we had. Given the spread of possible options, more details (or photos) would've helped. I guess I'll just have to go again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
The worst experience ever at Momo House. The server was rude, dismissive, and refused to address our complaints. Then, the chef stormed out of the kitchen and started screaming at a table in front of the entire restaurant absolutely disgraceful. To top it off, they refused to give their names, clearly knowing how unacceptable their behavior was. Unprofessional, chaotic, and downright embarrassing. Avoid this nightmare of a restaurant at all costs!

Yelp
I've rarely encountered a dumpling a didn't like, and after learning about momos, it became my mission to try some! Nepalese style cuisine is heavily influenced by the close neighboring countries of India, Bangladesh, and China. This nondescript restaurant is located in a strip center. Once seated, our waitress was super nice and recommended the chow mein as a popular dish to try, but we were set on momos for the evening. You're able to choose your filling of either chicken, water buffalo, or veg. Then you choose the preparation style of your momos. I was originally going to order the water buffalo momo in the chili preparation style, but the server recommended trying them steamed, so we could really taste the flavor of the traditional water buffalo filling. We went along with the suggestion and also ordered some chicken momos prepared with chili at level three spicy. While we waited, I noted the thali and various Chinese dishes also available, not to mention a couple of curries. There's certainly more exotic offerings as well. The steamed water buffalo momos arrived first, and oh man were they juicy! The earthy seasoning worked really well the meat! The accompanying red chili sauce had a definite kick to it, but of course I asked for more. The chili chicken momos came fried and tossed with onion and peppers along with the fiery and bold sweet sour and spicy chili sauce. Level three was definitely hot enough for me, but my friend didn't find them all that spicy. Both styles of momos were delicious in different ways! We both enjoyed the experience! Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy dumplings! Some of the big minuses for me was the bathroom could really use some work, and the menu would be better with descriptions of some items. Speaking of the menu, it's found through a QR code at each table. No paper menus are available. This place definitely carries a bit of a hole on the wall vibe. Still worth a visit despite these details.

Yelp
Our 2nd visit here. The first time we stopped by, it was almost closing time so only got to try few items(the veg fried rice, piro alu and veg soup momo). But the food was so good, we had to go back to try more. This time we ordered the other types of Momos and they taste amazing. My favorite were the Jhol momo. Here is an overview of what each momo is, since the menu isn't very descriptive. - Steamed momo: regular steamed momos - Kothey momo: steamed momos that are then pan fried - Chili momos: Fried momos that are tossed in a spicy chili sauce along with onions and bell peppers - Jhol momo: steamed momos dipped in traditional creamy soup/sauce - Soup momo: steamed momos dipped in watery thukpa kind of soup - We also tried the veg thali and Alu mushroom Jimbo. Both were delicious. The veg thali doesn't come with any bread like in Indian meals. It has rice, Dal, a paneer curry, one dry curry, green vegetable, chutney, papad, yogurt, pickle and ghee. Unlike the soup momos and chilli momos, the meal was kinda mild and good way to beat the rest of the spice. For the drinks we had the lassi and galli (masala) soda. And both were pretty good. The ambience is not too fancy, but neat and clean. And the service was excellent.

Yelp
Very good! It was my first time and I'll definitely be back. The chili chicken dumplings (momo) were so good. Very rich in chili powder flavor. I can take spicy and we got 4/5 spice and it wasn't super spicy. But super flavorful. Service was good too. Will return

Yelp
I order from momo house on DoorDash and I've never been disappointed. The Momos are always on point! I get the steamed chicken and while they're spicy-it's so worth the burn.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Vegetable dumplings, chicken chili, and vegetable thali were excellent. Can't wait to come back. Our little waitress was very helpful as we were Nepali novices.
google avatar

Amjad A.

Yelp
This place is legit. I was a little upset that they didn't have the poly available. They said don't serve it after 8 PM. I hate it when businesses do that. How am I supposed to know? I decided to go with the old adage... Don't go to an Italian restaurant And order sushi. The Talia Momo house is excellent from now on. I'm coming for the Momos as well. I am a pescatarian/95% vegetarian. They had several good options.
google avatar

Cassandra M.

Yelp
Pretty tasty, doesn't hold back on flavor, and good customer service! The chilli chicken though was way too spicy for me, me and my bf kept saying "ouch" upon each chew lol. I would give that dish a 3.5/5 just cuz the heat was distracting but flavor notes were sharrrrppp! The dumpling/Momo's were solid though some of them were a bit chewy! Loved the dipping sauce :)
google avatar

Yelp
Super yumm vegetarian food . We are from out of town and I get momos there too but these are yumm . We had the steam veg momo , veg kotha , veg chilli momo and the pero aloo . I even lined the butter chai . Everything was superlative .

Jamie F.

Yelp
We ordered 4 different momo dishes in chicken and vegetable: pan fried, deep fried, steamed, and spicy. Also the chicken chow mein noodles. Everything was delicious! The spices were different from any other Asian cuisine we have had. Truly a unique experience. We will return!
google avatar

Helene S.

Yelp
Delicious taste of Nepal. The vegetarian momo steamed dumplings are so good with a spicy dipping sauce. For a variety of dishes, order the vegetarian thali. So many great dishes served with a generous portion of basmati rice, a soup, lentils, a green vegetable and a sweet yogurt. Easy to order on line, but you have to call in to order the thali.
google avatar

Yelp
LIke other Yelpers have said, this is a hidden gem in this neighbourhood; I came across it by looking for a momo place in Houston and it did not disappoint. A bunch of Nepali mates have shared their homemade momos with me, so I've gotten a good exposure to the taste and ingredients. Here's what I got: - Chili Chicken Momos: Definitely recommend! - Jhol Chicken Momo: Love the jhol (loosely translated to sauce) and the moms themselves where delicious. - Johl Water buffalo momo: Hands down my absolute favourite; definitely get it! Prices are very reasonable ($9-12 for most things). It's an almost hole-in-the-wall eatern with soft Nepali music going on in the background, with kind and prompt service.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
I ordered momos to go so I can't really comment on ambiance. Service was great, though. I called in my order and the lady was helpful and even let me change my order a couple of minutes later without any delay in my order being ready. i ordered the steamed veg and chicken chili momos with a side of jhol sauce and mutter paneer. I swear I asked for mild or medium but hot damn my mouth was en fuego!!!!! The momos were super flavorful and yes, very spicy. I am going to make another order this week and getting the kothay and veg chili fry! The chili momos flavor was amazing! Sweet, savory and especially spicy but even in this heat, I'm all over the face sweat if it means getting more of these momos!!!! No pics this time, I was too hangry!
google avatar

Gregory L.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here super late at night wanting to try something new. We got the chili water buffalo momo and the chicken momo in broth. Both were really good, though I definitely preferred the chili momo (it had a bit of a nice crunch to it, and the sweet and spicy sauce was really well seasoned with cumin. Servers were also friendly to explain all the menu items to us.
google avatar

Hannah B.

Yelp
One of my fave places in Houston! Come and try all the dumplings. Wait staff is super friendly and helpful! Can't wait to bring my mom here!
google avatar

Fatima A.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic little gem! I came here on a Saturday for lunch to try out momos! 1. Chicken khotey- basically fried and steamed momos and they were so good with the curry chutney they give! It was definitely lighter because it was steamed as well. 2. Chicken Chili Momos- the best momos I've ever had!! 10/10! They were fried and the sauce was just such an incredible sauce they put on it! 10 momos for around $11. Enough for 2 people! Only thing was, I waited about 40 minutes to get these out to our table but once we tried it, it was worth the wait!
google avatar

Sonia K.

Yelp
Their chilli momos are my go to whenever I'm here, and I love their jhol momos as well. For the chilli momos, I get level 4 spicy and it's tolerable with some beer for a South Indian like me. Momos and beer are the best happy hour combo anyway, so that works. Staff are friendly and sweet, ambience leans a little more hole in the wall than fancy restaurant, but I prefer the former anyway, so not an issue for me.
google avatar

JT L.

Yelp
Oh I can't give Momo's House enough praise. My friend and I met there to catch up and even though my friend has fish allergies, this place went out of their way to make sure that she had no issues. We had never had Napoli or Himalayan food and it was wonderful. Service was great too!
google avatar

Seema K.

Yelp
It is a hidden gem in this neighborhood. Was introduced by my colleagues and ever since whenever I crave something hot, we make sure to grab their Chili Chicken Momos & chicken chow min. We also ordered Jhol Chicken Momo, they are good but if you prefer spicy momos then stick with chilli chicken. The spice level is also great from 1-5. I am fine with 4 or 5. Cute small eating joint that gives you a feel of Nepal with soft music in the background and inviting decor around. Smiling servers and prompt service is welcoming !
google avatar

Ravi K.

Yelp
Its an humble restaurant with great customer service and awesome food. One of the best momos in Houston. Kudos to the team.
google avatar

Yelp
I am so happy we came by to try Nepalese food at Momo House this week. My boyfriend & I shared the chicken chow mein and chilly water buffalo momos. They were both delicious! The flavor of the chow mein was very unique, and the sauce on the side gave it a spicy kick. I loved the chilly water buffalo momos! The flavor of the sauce was my favorite part. We both didn't feel like the water buffalo itself had a very strong taste. The momos came with onions & peppers as well. Our waitress was very nice & made sure that the spice level was okay for us. I can't wait to go back to try more of their momos!

Adriana G.

Yelp
the sign said they were open until 22:00 (10 pm) but when i got there at 21:00 (9 pm) they were closed

Dileep P.

Yelp
Best Momos in Houston. Must try their Chilli momos. Steam momos are very juicy. Chow Mein / Noodles are ok. They add some red chilli sauce to it which tastes very strong.
google avatar

Tara W.

Yelp
This dumpling place is good but this is very far from where I live. The workers are great and informative. They have varieties of dumplings to pick from. We go here once in a while or so. This is a Nepali cuisine. I love their packaged pickles for beef jerky and they are spicy as I like it.

David T.

Yelp
Today was my third time. This time I try the chicken tally. It is amazing. I was the only person at lunch. This place is amazing. I hope more people visit. The service is excellent, she was very good explaining my dish and all the components and how they eat in Nepal. The momos as usual are out of this world.
google avatar

Amelia H.

Yelp
Hidden gem on Hillcroft. Their menu is very very reasonable for the servings. It was so good. Well seasoned l. The level 3 spiciness was too for me LoL. The wait staff was super friendly. I wanted some Basmati rice with my curry. She said they were low but she was nice enough to "scrape" some for me free of charge LOL. All 3 dishes totalled $25!!! and we had leftovers.
google avatar

Arundathi R.

Yelp
Have heard about this place from friends and decided to try it. Had their chili chicken momo and steamed momos. They both tasted good, chilli momo was actually spicy.. I personally think the ambiance was the not very appealing.
google avatar

Son H.

Yelp
Momos are dumplings specific to Nepal. The food is quite tasty but service is slow. Wear clothes that you would not mind getting smelly after leaving the restaurant.

Avni C.

Yelp
The food was great and the service was very efficient as well! Some of the best momos in town
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
I've had momo a few other times in Dallas and LA but wow this place is another level for sure. The just have is the buff chili momo and any of the jhol momo but I prefer the water buffalo meat. Sounds crazy but it really is amazing. The level of flavor and spice in the buff chili is out of control. It's kinda like the first time I ever had Japanese curry just totally new spices I've never had before. If you are not use to spice definetly keep it at one but 3 is like perfect. Super friendly staff and a decent amount of seating. All of the staff make great suggestions as well and are very helpful. Please come here it's totally worth the drive from Jersey village. I really could eat here everyday. So far two times in three days, it's that GOOD!!!

Yelp
Ordered some lunch for coworkers birthday - 1. Fried Chicken momo - when can you go wrong with anything deep fried?! Super yummy. Probably better in house than takeout. Have it while it's really fresh. 2. Chilly Vegetable Momo - most favorited out of all the dishes. Must get! We got 3/5 and our mildest "can't eat anything spicy" coworker was able to eat it and still feel a good kinda zinger. 3. Jhol Chicken Momo - the sauce was a bit more bland than expected so probably wouldn't do a repeat of this one. 4. Chicken Chow Mein - loved by everyone. If you can handle spicy, ask for the spicy sauce. Tiny little thing but A REALLY good kick with just a few drops. We had the four dishes for 4 adults and 2 kiddos and had a couple of momos leftover for the next day. Due to the greasiness (in a good way), a few momos each were more than filling :)

Yelp
Food is really tasty . Specially momos but they have other vareity of food all is yummy

Yelp
I think Momo House's steamed water buffalo momo is my new favorite dumpling. My wife and I have had plenty of Indian food, but we've never tried Nepalese cuisine. Momo House has been on our radar ever since Houston Chronicle restaurant critic Alison Cook raved about it, and we finally went. We ordered four items: a mixed thupka, a goat curry, chicken jhol momos, and water buffalo steamed momos. The mixed thupka was a noodle soup with chicken and vegetables. The soup was spicy, but pleasantly so. The noodles looked like spaghetti, but the other elements of the dish made them taste like Asian style wheat noodles instead of pasta. I am a sucker for Asian noodle soups, and I wouldn't mind a bowl of thupka on a cold winter day. The goat curry was somewhat similar to what you would expect from an Indian restaurant, except the broth was bit thinner and had slight smoky notes. The chicken jhol momos arrived swimming in a light-orange, sesame-tinged broth. Both were delicious, and we would order them again in the future. Now, for the star of the show. The water buffalo momos looked like little money pouches, and the momos' contents were indeed precious. The filling was meaty and laced with garlic and ginger--so good that I wanted to eat the momos without the dipping sauces. I've consumed thousands of dumplings in my life, and this water buffalo momo ranks near the very top. Our server was wonderful, patiently explaining to us the differences between the five types of momos and answering whatever questions we had. You could tell she enjoyed being an ambassador for Nepali cuisine. We were excited to try Momo House, and they exceeded our expectations. We look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
TLDR: GoGo to Momo. Solid eats and a wonderfully nice staff. Worth a try. Visit: Weekday (dinner) Service: 8.8/10 Our server was extremely accommodating, had helpful recommendations, and a healthy knowledge of the menu. Order: Chicken Jhol Momo: 7.9/10 The broth had a subtle yellow curry flavor and the steamed Momo had a nice noodle texture, albeit the chicken was a just hair on the dry side. Water Buffalo Chili Momo: 8.3/10 Def a must try. Crispy, spicy (ask for the special hot sauce they have to accompany them), and delicious. Do it. This was my first experience with Nepalese food and I was not disappointed. This semi hole in the wall establishment has some tasty offerings that can't be ignored. Upon my visit, I relied primarily on what other Yelpers had been saying about the steamed and chili momos. Needless to say, I'm a fan. The server also gave us some recommendations for our next visit which were: Aloo Jeera, Goat Sekowa, and the Goat Thali Set. You can bet I'm gonna go back for Momo!
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
We found this place while waiting for our order from a restaurant next door to be ready and ended up enjoying the food from here even more! We were told that Nepalese food was a fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisine and were recommended the momos (dumplings), specifically the pan-fried ones in curry sauce. My partner is vegetarian so we got the veggie filling, but I would be interested in coming back to try the water buffalo one! We went with the level 2/5 spice, which is great if you want a slight kick but prefer the spice to not be the center of the show. Food was great value!

Yelp
This place is amazing inside and out Food is excellent something new and different And the customer service is outstanding 5 stars up

Yelp
Ever since my trip to Nepal and moving to Houston, I've had a really hard time finding a place where I love the momos. I was so excited to find this place and try it! I got the steamed veg Momo's, they were delicious! The tomato chutney with it was so good and just right. My friend got the chili chicken Momos and also really enjoyed it. I tried butter tea for the first time, it was definitely a different experience. It was creamy and a nice hint of salt to bring out the tea flavors, I loved it! I can't wait to go back and try the vegetable chow mein in the chili veg momos. Not only was the food good, but the service was great! The lady there was so helpful at explaining everything on the menu and giving us recommendations!

Yelp
Now I've only eaten take out from here. I was introduced to this place through a co worker and it has become a staple at work. I've only gotten their momo steam dumplings and omg they are good. It comes with two sauces which compliment the dumplings. I will continue ordering from this place

Yelp
I'm simultaneously so glad that this restaurant exists and so sad that it's so far away from me. I LOVE momo's, but they're not a very common dish (can't find it out in Sugar Land where I'm at), so I have to make the 30min drive out here for these delicious dumplings. The water buffalo Johl momo is hands down amazing, I ALWAYS order at least 2 because I want one just for myself! The sauce is super key, the momo is tasty by itself, but it gets EVEN BETTER with the sauce. The other options are chicken and vegetarian, my husband likes the chicken and the veggie ones are solid too. We also tried their chow mein as well, pretty standard. Their food carries out very well. The restaurant is in this very sketchy plaza that I would never go to if not for my momos. Prices are very reasonable ($9-12 for most things).

Yelp
We tried Momo House as a bit of an adventure, and it really paid off. Despite the somewhat dicey looking shopping center, Momo House is a really really nice place with a very nice interior, good music and great service. We had one of the thalis in order to sample a few things and the chili water buffalo momo. It was plenty of food at very modest prices, and we loved every bit of it. The thali included a curry, a very tasty vegetable, lentil soup and a variety of other items in small portions, including a very spicy condiment. The momos were delicious, only slightly spicy in accordance with our preference, but I want to try them again at a high spice level. Our waitress could not have been more pleasant or more helpful. There are at least 4 (maybe more) types of momos, and she patiently explained each style for us and helped us choose. I can't wait to go back and try more of them. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a somewhat exotic experience in a really pleasant place with great tasting food, lots of patient assistance, all at pretty cheap prices, you can't go wrong here.

Yelp
Momo House is a really unique and comfortable restaurant. The staff are friendly and try to welcome you well. The food is reasonably priced and honestly I'm not sure where else to get nepali food in Houston! I suggest asking the staff for suggestions as they'll share more about the dishes too.
