My husband Memo and I went to dinner for our Valentines celebration and we could not have picked a better place! The food was amazing and the service was great! The owner Wende was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back and I highly recommend.

I'm a little delayed on my review but my girlfriends and I tried here for dinner and everything was fantastic. From drinks to the entrees. I think they make their own pastas (maybe not all but not sure). I really enjoyed everything we had and my friends did too. Service was great. No complaints here!

Google
We tried this place for dinner recently and it was ok. They have a decent amount of tables in the dining room and a separate bar area. The staff were friendly. The food was delicious. My daughter enjoyed her Alfredo noodles. My wife liked her chicken dish. The maccheroni alla vesuviana was great. Large portion sizes to match the price. The service was slow, but we’ll try this place again in case they were having an off night.

A Dallas favorite of mine. Great food, great drinks, great people. Will always be a place to which I return. Love the traditional takes on Italian. Always enjoy the specials, too. Can't wait to return.

Google
In the ‘80s Dallas Italian food was red and white checkered table cloth and unlimited bread rolls. Momos changed all of that . Brought authentic Italian food to Dallas for the first time. We used to go to Momo’s Italian on Forest Lane ~ 30 years ago . Went there for Valentine’s Day and birthdays. When we moved to Plano , it seemed far away. Tonight we went there for dinner . Not only has the restaurant doubled in size but the menu has broadened . Pasta done just that al dente that makes it tad chewy. Had the lasagna and trenette Al Molo paired with a Barollo and also the house old fashioned. Highly recommend it ! Glad to re-connect !

Google
Excellent ingredients and preparation of the food. I was seated quickly. The service was good and the wait was not excessive. They paid attention to if I was enjoying my meal and refilled my glass without asking. The atmosphere was comfortable and visually enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Google
For the price that I payed...I would have expected larger portions. The Antipasto board was very small compared to many other Italian restaurants that I have eaten at. The food portions were small as well. More about presentation, and drinks, than actual eating. The waiter and staff were attentive though, and even gave us a very excellent Tiramasu desert.

Google
Stylish and delicious Italian restaurant! What to order: MoMo Italian tea (AMAZING) and the fried calamari! The Gnocchi was also delicious!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner once and we were very impressed! Service was nice and pretty prompt, although our main courses took almost 30 minutes to get out even though we got there before it had fully hit the rush. The food was fantastic though: we couldn't get enough of our entrees, and the desserts were impeccable! Atmosphere was only mid, but it's not enough to deduct a star from such a great Italian restaurant! I can't recommend this place enough, just make sure to book a reservation if dining with more than 2 people!

Yelp
My husband loves Italian food, and this restaurant was rated as one of the top Italian Restaurants here in Dallas, so that just means we gotta check it out ;) The food here was so DELICIOUS. Every ingredient tasted freshly prepared. My favorites were the calamari and the gnocchi alla salsiccia. The fried calamari had a sweet chili tomato sauce that tasted phenomenal with the lightly panko dusted calamari. The gnocchi was so tender, and the red sauce was great. The MoMo Italian iced tea was so delicious! I wish I can get a gallon to go! It was my husband's birthday, so the restaurant gave us a complimentary dessert! It was such a sweet gesture! We sat on the patio! The night was in the low 80s, and they had the fans going. The tables were clean, and the patio was quiet enough for us to converse comfortably! Service was a bit slow though. FYI!

Yelp
We ordered takeout, both had the lasagna. Don't let the menu fool you. There is so little meat in this it is hard to find. They load it with mushrooms to replace the lack of meat. It should be named "mushroom lasagna". I like mushrooms, but a little meat in my lasagna would be nice, especially for $32 a serving.

Yelp
HIDDEN GEM ALERT!!! When wanting Italian food, this has become the go to spot for a couple of friends (who are Yelpers) and I. On our first visit, it wasn't until I GPS showed me the route/location when I realized the restaurant was not located where I thought. Considering where GPS was directing me, I was a bit skeptical as I could not imagine a nice Italian restaurant located in this area of town. After parking and walking towards the restaurant, I was immediately proven wrong. As the saying goes, "never judge a book by its cover". The first thing I encountered was the most amazing 'sidewalk patio' that was mostly secluded from the parking lot. While I have always dined indoor, I look forward to dining on the patio one day...weather permitting. Located in a strip mall, I was very impressed with how the owners created the feel of a small, intimate Italian café. Once inside, the decor is warm, welcoming and cozy. There are two seating areas, one on the bar side which has more open feel to it while the other side has a more intimate feel to it. The seating consists of tables/chairs along with some bar seating. The owners of this restaurant are an awesome couple who are very friendly. One interaction with them and you immediately realize they put their heart/soul into the restaurant, and thoroughly enjoy what they do. From greeting customers upon arrival to seating them to making entree recommendations to serving customers; the owners are actively involved in making sure everyone has an amazing experience. On our first visit, we asked one of the owners (Wendy) about her favorite entree; after stepping us through what seemed like half of the menu we were still struggling on what to get. Lol! For a starter, I went with the Insalata Primavera salad which was very tasty. For my entree, I decided to go with the Capelli D'Angelo Alla Momo and I was not disappointed. It consisted of shrimp and smoked salmon served on pasta with a creamy wine sauce. In addition to being amazing delicious, it was a huge serving which provided leftovers for the next day. Lastly for dessert, we shared the tiramisu, which like everything served here, is made in house and it was beyond delicious. It was so delicious, that on repeat visits we stopped sharing and got our own. On a separate visit, I had the spicy lasagna bolognese which is also very tasty. If you like authentic Italian food, "this Momo's" needs to be on list to visit. I say "this Momo's" as there is another Momo's nearby which is a 'competitor'. Please do not confuse the two.

Yelp
I visited this place on a social event, unfortunately have not had a chance to try their main dishes so cannot be fully conclusive regarding the menu, we did have appetizers including charcuterie boards and focaccias as well as some warm bread with rosemary spread. Everything that we tried was decent. Staff was pleasant. We had a wine tasting during the event as well and it looks like they have a good variety of wine

Yelp
My friends and I had the best time here this past weekend. I never would have imagined this restaurant existed on Forest Lane, in an old ass strip mall, but here it lies. This place is not to be confused with the other Momos not too far down the street - they are not amicable (and for good reasons it seems). My friends and I had reservations for Friday night and were sat on the bar side of the restaurant. When we left the restaurant we saw that the other side was cozier with a fireplace. We deemed that the "date side" and the bar area the "friend side". There is also a spacious patio where you could sit and forget that you are facing a parking lot. This place is cute! The meal is obviously the most important part, and the three of us had the hardest time trying to decide what to order. One of the owners, Wende, came over and I should have known better to ask her what her favorite dishes were. She told us about all of them (and there were a lot) with great detail and passion that it threw more choices in our minds making the decision that much more difficult. We started with salads. I had the beet salad. I loved it so much I don't even remember the salads my friends had. For my entree I ordered the pappardelle bolognese. OMG! To die for. The pasta is made in house and it is obvious that it is - so fresh. The sauce and the meat were both flavorful and I was so happy I had the leftovers tonight. Yummy! The owners of this restaurant are a delightful couple, and you can tell they love what they do! The chef is really nice and gave us some insight to the recipes that had been with the restaurant for 40+ years. You know it's a good night, and a good experience, when you spend over two hours eating and chatting and not drinking anything other than tea and water. I can not recommend this place enough! They just launched a spring menu that includes about 8 new dishes that all sounded good. I think my 2023 goal should be to try every dish on the menu and just live on a treadmill to burn off all the carbs.

Yelp
This is my favorite Italian food in Dallas. The Conchiglie Modo Mio is my all time favorite Italian dish. Not cheap, but worth the money to get unique Italian items you won't find elsewhere.

Yelp
I don't want to tell you how great this place is, because then the secret will be out. However, I must do what I have to do. Momo Italian Kitchen is a must visit type of place. This place is literally a unexpected food oasis for this part of town. Their patio is spacious and has a level of privacy that you don't expect being close to a busy street. The decor of Momo is very pleasant and comfortable. Both sides of the restaurant is well balanced with lighting to match your relaxed vibe. If you enjoy authentic Italian, The menu is one that you will enjoy. We had one of the owners go thru the menu for us and we also had our server do the same. If I tell you that we had a tough time making a decision... we had a difficult time. But choices were made and we owned them. Momo makes all of their pasta in house, which is delightful and it makes a difference when it comes to quality Italian food. The meal was delicious. Did I mention delicious. Even the tiramisu is made fresh in house and it's worth ordering without sharing with your two friends, as I did. Honestly, the pictures don't do the food justice. Momo is a perfect place for date night or a special occasion. It was a great experience. Ambiance: Chefs kiss Cocktails: They offer non alcohol beverages. Their wine list is worth exploring. Parking: Spacious parking lot. Uber if you're planning on a bottle or two of wine.

Yelp
Go enjoy Fresh, Northern Italian dishes. We ordered their beet salad, the summer special, a ravioli type dish with velvety sauce and side of spinach & lasagna. It was delicious ! Service was friendly but just ok. Manager was super!! Quaint atmosphere

Katy R.

Yelp
We were meaning to try MoMo for a while. So glad we finally made it!! Delightful people, excellent homemade dishes including tiramisu!! Yum. And they loved our doggo on the patio. :) Will definitely be back.

Debbie P.

Yelp
I have been visiting Momo's since 1991 when it was closer to Forest and Greenville. The food is still good (even though they got rid of my favorite dish). The food is still amazing! I have to express my disappointment in a few things. Service is not great. The owners are good about coming around to the table but the wait staff is just ok. Prices have gone up of course and that's ok....but charging extra for more bread is ridiculous. Why punish everyone because a few have abused the refills of bread. I don't know if I will go back again....perhaps it's best to leave the good memories of Momo's and the excellent service I used to receive in the past.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Goodnesss!!!! I need a good north Italian dish! Coming back for more! Service was wonderful, we decided to eat outside, the weather was perfect, even then the whole vibe was great!

Marta P.

Yelp
This is such a neighborhood gem! The food and cocktails are always on point and the service is quick and attentive!

Yelp
We were really excited to try MoMo given all the positive things we've heard about it. Unfortunately we were incredibly disappointed. The restaurant itself seems nice with a nice ambiance. We were seated in the bar area at a cramped two top despite the restaurant area being mostly open. Our first red flag should have been when we first sat down, and the table next to us was just finishing their meal. We heard them politely mention to the owner that $17 for what turned out to be a 3oz martini was a bad deal, but the owner stood by their pours. We started with the Frico, which our server recommended. It's a fried potato and onion cake that came badly burned and under seasoned. Our second course was the Ris in Cagnon, which we were told was the star of the menu. The rice was flavorless, and it was half-covered in a cream sauce that didn't do much for us. We were so disappointed that, despite still being hungry, we skipped our planned third course to go right to dessert, figuring that had to be better. We got the tiramisu and the panna cotta. The tiramisu had no layers, just a single ladyfinger, maybe a tiny bit of mascarpone that was broken and gritty, and a weird chocolate topping. The worst tiramisu I've ever had. The panna cotta was better, but we were told the seasonal offering was with chocolate and mint. It came topped with Hershey's syrup and candy cane. The espresso martinis were ok (but small) and the Italian old fashioned was not good (though maybe just not for us). Our server was fine but the food and drink service itself was slow. Everything was priced like an upscale restaurant but the food was universally bad. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night, but we won't be returning.

Megha T.

Yelp
My husband found this beautiful gem which serves beautiful, quality, grandmom style Italian food. The entire ambience was so warm and inviting. Wende was so welcoming and took time to explain the menu, specials, etc. Every staff member was very nice and patient too! We tried the mussels appetizer from the specials menu, this was our absolute favorite! The broth was so beautiful and rich! We also tried their specialty ris in cagnon (we really loved the flavors and the texture the veal and mushrooms gave) and the gnocchi alla salsiccia (this wasn't our absolute favorite since the sauce felt very acidic). Will definitely be returning here and will try their other delicious dishes!

Ginny K.

Yelp
Great food! Homemade pasta! Great service as well! The only con is that it is loud, especially on busy night with large parties. So if you like quieter asked for a table toward the end or outside if weather permits. recommended, the shopping center/location it is in does not do it justice! But prices and portion are great!

Wade C.

Yelp
Great food; not affiliated with Momo's in Dallas. Staff very friendly, food fresh, and reasonable.

Patricia H.

Yelp
The moment I walked into this restaurant, I was greeted with such warm hospitality! I was at a location down the sidewalk and smelled a wonderful flavor and stopped in to visit. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment! It is run by a couple and it has a lot of history to it originating over 30 years ago.

Terry W.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in Dallas. We discovered it in the early days of Covid (great outdoor patio and heaters back then!) and have become regulars. Their dishes are varied and well done. The pasta is fresh and delicious, and the veal is excellent. Great wine list. Aaron and Wende are great hosts. We have told several of our friends about this restaurant and they rave about it, too. Wonderful!!

CJ L.

Yelp
Great food and service! Fantastic family atmosphere too! We go there on special occasions and the food is very much like I had in Italy!

Lynley L.

Yelp
A perfect mix of ritzy and casual. The food is delicious... many options you can choose from. Some wine specials on a few days during the week. Had their regular customers that have been coming for years it sounds like. We have never had to wait to be seated. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Giannina M.

Yelp
I'm picky about pasta. Momo's more than exceeded every expectation I had. Went on a weekday for date night and were seated outside for the most beautiful sunset. We were immediately greeted and sat and were treated like family since we walked in. We started with focaccia and pesto which were delicious and so appetizing - had us so excited for the next course. We chose the lamb meatballs as an appetizer which were so flavorful, tender, and warm, and drank our wine while we waited for our main courses. We chose fettucini al carne which was perfectly aldente and perfectly seasoned. We genuinely felt like we came to nonna's for a meal and were sitting in her dining room kitchen. I could almost hear her telling me to eat more because I was looking too skinny. Staff was constantly checking in on us, even if we were not "their table" to take care of. Wine glasses were always full, affogato was creamy and had just the right amount of bitter espresso, and when I asked for my tea to go the manager insisted I go home with a fresh glass. An absolute hidden gem in Dallas - a must-visit.

Alexis H.

Yelp
I found this exquisite restaurant more than 10 years ago. Everything is fresh and handmade. The ambiance is comfortable. The food is divine. It is classic Italian dishes and you can almost taste the love and care that they are made with! I know all the pasta is made in house and not out of boxes. I am so glad they survived the pandemic and even have a bigger space with a beautiful patio! Oh, and they introduced Mom and I to a red Moscato wine that is heavenly! Yup, it was the perfect place for a Father's Day dinner!

TR M.

Yelp
What a great experience during a recent fun wine tasting event featuring Familia Torres of Spain wines. Service was awesome and their Tagliata Di Manzo Con Rucola e Parmigiano was phenomenal, it melted in your mouth. Totally recommend MoMo Italian Kitchen. #SupportLocal

Mark M.

Yelp
Had an early dinner here the other night. After an appetizer of a flat chewy bread with a fresh pesto crudo to spread on it. I ordered Conchiglie a Modo Mio, it was very good, my wife had the Tortelli di Spinaci, she enjoyed it as well...gave me a taste, good but I liked my choice better. Others at the table had Gnocchi alla Salsiccia (I tried a bite, pretty good) service was good.

Thuy N.

Yelp
I absolutely love Momo. A few months ago I was in search of rehearsal dinner location. During the planning process Wende and Aaron made us feel like family and made the process so easy. We had a couple special requests and they happily accommodated for us. From food to service everything is top notched. Even my picky mother loved the food. Thank you Wende and Aaron for a memorable evening.

Tricia T.

Yelp
I've been a fan of their unique Italian dishes for years! Finally visited their new beautiful location and not only was the food fabulous, but the service was professional, attentive and they anticipated our needs with great suggestions. The open dining room is warm and the walls have inspirational art by local talented artists.

Tai T.

Yelp
Great birthday experience, I believe the owner help serve my party of ten and she was a absolute joy, the staff is very nice ad quick. But the food is 100% the star of my visit. My party of ten all raved over the food, large vegetarian options and great drinks. 10-10 recommend.

James L.

Yelp
Food was meh. Worst pizza I've had at any Italian restaurant in 30 years. Super weird thick "non pizza" dough. Under cooked, flavorless. Think "thick" Chucky Cheese pizza (kids didn't even remotely like it... skip the pizza for sure). Pastas we're all ok. Definitely not authentic, homemade noodles, but sauces were decent and much better than the pizza (couldn't not be). Service was slow but lovely and professional and saved them a star. It's a strip mall neighborhood type place and a decent gathering spot. Also had good ambiance and is well run. Food just very underwhelming.

Chip S.

Yelp
Spaghetti with Midnight Balls are to die for. A MUST-EAT-HERE establishment. The food was so delicious that I've been craving to go back. I never have hungered for Spaghetti and midnight balls like I do now. Even their house salad and homemade dressing was DEEE-licious! Oh and we were there for our first time on a Martini $6 night! Perfectly made tasty strong martinis. Never been to a happy hour martini day! Now I wanna drink there every Monday. Christy was an amazing server too! Thanks Christy!

Levy C.

Yelp
Really good neighborhood place. Food was very good and service was acceptable. My wife and I have a strategy that says if we would go back then it has to meet our criteria for food quality and service standards. This is a place we would go to. The menu featured familiar Italian dishes. The prices were competitive but not cheap. Dinner for 2 no alcohol including tip was $75.00. It has a homey feel but not a dress up kind of place. I am sure that 90% of the diners were repeat customers the night we had dinner there. That 90% will include us on our next visit. By the way, there are couple of these restaurants that share similar names. This location is in the strip mall next to the Tom Thumb at Preston and forest.

Annie T.

Yelp
We went to MoMo for the first time for a date night and it was great! Delicious food and amazing ambiance and service. I'm gluten free, and they had sooo many delicious GF options clearly marked on the menu. I think more than 75% of the menu could be gluten free which is so amazing / rare for a delicious, authentic Italian restaurant. I'm also dairy free and the owner came over and told me about an amazing off-menu aglio e olio pasta they could make gf / df, so I got that it was SO good. They can do gluten free pizzas as well! Highly, highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Peter L.

Yelp
Great food, service is outstanding, The best in Italian food, it's so nice to enjoy food that is not from chain restaurant. A+ menu, selection is outstanding, cocktails are outstanding also.

Jill A.

Yelp
We had our first date here in 1988-have lived all over the place and were in Dallas --we decided to give it a try---we had the most delightful dinner--the owner--wait staff everybody was beyond kind and the food was just as great as it was in 1988--consistency

Marlene G.

Yelp
Service itself was outstanding, our waitress checked on us several times. The owner of the restaurant was just as friendly, making sure everything was good. I got the Fettuccine Alla Santalloro, their pasta was house-made.It was delicious, one of the best I've tried. My friend got the Pappardelle Integrale Alla Bolognese and was equally impressed by the quality of the dish. We got the tiramisu for dessert. The taste of coffee and mascarpone cheese were exquisite with bits of crunch adding another delicious texture layer. Would definitely recommend this family owned restaurant. We were so excited for the tiramisu, I forgot to take a photo.

Helen H.

Yelp
In between a 3 and 4. 3 bc I would rather try soemthign else first The food is good, decent size portions. The noodles are good- Bolognese and the mushroom ravioli. The bread is fine. It's rich and we found that we swapped dishes a couple times bc u get tired of the taste.

Shari S.

Yelp
The Restaurant was empty so we were seated right away. The hostess was very nice and accommodating . We ordered the mushroom salad with hearts of palm. It had no seasoning of any kind. It needed salt , pepper , lemon or even a light vinaigrette . The hearts of palm were basically non existent. It was a plate of raw basic mushrooms. Not even fancy mushrooms. The lasagna was so under seasoned with hardly any sauce or cheese. It was truly awful. Everything was under seasoned. The prosciutto on my veal was barely cooked with the fat still on the edge.. yuk! Will not be back , a very underwhelming meal.

David G.

Yelp
Family dinner on a quiet Sunday evening. The bread (seemed more like pita) that was served when we were seated had a unique parsley/garlic/oil spread that was unique and enjoyable. We shared mussels and carpaccio appetizers which everyone enjoyed as well. My salmon puttanesca entree was well-executed and flavorful, and the family devoured the pasta dishes they ordered, though the portions were too large for dinner alone, with everyone taking at least a little back home for lunch today. We don't go out to eat often because we're wine geeks with a large personal cellar and can't justify the high wine markups most places charge (plus, Mrs Davidandrose is an awesome cook) but the markups here were very reasonable. And the food was very fairly-priced as well. Should also commend our server Rosie who was friendly, pleasant and attentive. Our first visit here, we'll definately return.

Rene G.

Yelp
Hidden gem! We were craving Italian and didn't want our normal spots. Found this place on Yelp and were very pleased. We started with the mussels and they were phenomenal. The sauce was perfect and they were not gritty. My fiancée had the conchiglie ai Quattro formaggi with chicken. She loved it. I had the gnocchi with sausage and it literally melted in my mouth. Will definitely return.

Vickie N.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY the BEST food, BEST service. You have to go. No reservations required. Tell them Vickie sent you. Went for brunch today. Italian cream cake...pure heaven

Sarah P.

Yelp
So glad we popped in to try MoMo! While pretty unassuming from the outside, the interior has been recently updated and is super cute. The seating outside is lit by bistro lights and would be a perfect spot when the weather is nicer. Loved the focaccia and we shared pasta and a calzone, both delicious. Service was fast and very friendly. Recommend the italian sodas!

Cathy P.

Yelp
Exceptional food with exceptional service. Every dish is amazing. It's a nice dinner experience. The wait staff is formal but not at all stuffy. Very good for date night.

Matt B.

Yelp
Super authentic Italian with house made pastas. They have an impressive wine list with mostly Italian wines. Give them a try

Ed B.

Yelp
Excellent and very casual- the food is always perfect and it is not noisy - a great place to savor and talk !!!

James C.

Yelp
Great local Italian spot. The owner was there and came by our table a few times. Everything was very, very good. Fresh vegetables and sauces cooked in house. Finally we found good Italian food in Dallas that is reasonably priced. Our new go to spot!

Jerry K.

Yelp
This is our now go-to when we go out with my elderly parents. Great very extensive menu and some of the best Italian food I've had. I've had the stuffed Porterhouse and a pasta dish (made with different color pastas. Wine list is adequate with available good selections at all price levels. Friendly service and a full bar. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Chrislyn B.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try this place based upon a recommendation from our neighbors. We were a bit skeptical because it's challenging to find good Italian food. We were both pleasantly surprised. The service was on point, everyone was super helpful and friendly. The appetizer meatballs were delicious, and I loved the bit of red pepper in the meatball. We split a simple Caesar salad, basic but one of our favs. The salad was not over dressed and it was perfectly creamy and lemony. My husband ordered the puttanesca with a little extra heat and it was very good. I ordered the asparagus ravioli in a creamy sauce, you could taste all of the delicious herbs that had been infused into the sauce, it was fantastic. I will say, the free bread is nothing to write home about, but it's not bad either. I used it to sop up the leftover sauce from the meatballs and my ravioli. The plating could be a little tighter and creative, but now I'm just being picky because I'm big on presentation even with my own cooking. All in all, a great experience and we will be going back!

JOEL F.

Yelp
Great food. Outstanding service--Rosie is the bomb--and warm and engaging and capable ownership by Wende and Aaron. A must-do for Dallas!
