Half Moon Bay Train Car Destination Restaurant Just Closed — For Now | Eater SF

"After a run as a Saluhall kiosk in the Tenderloin, this stall called it a day, citing the food hall’s internal restrictions around meat that required a meat-to-veg ratio and even pushed them to remove their most popular pork belly noodle dish; a new Financial District location is expected in September." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
A great spot to enjoy noodles. The food truck design is bright and colorful, making it ideal for customers to see from a distance. Their digital ordering system works great. I tried the PoPos Noodles with Tofu and they did not disappoint. You gotta love their alternative source of protein.

Google
MOMO noodle is a great place to get noodles. I enjoyed the noodles I ate. Although it's on the pricey side, the food made the price worth it. I would recommend MOMO noodle if you're around the area and want to eat delicious noodles. I will be back when I am working around here in the future. The bag is also very cute!!

Google
Located at the SF Food Park. Tried the “Momo Spicy Noodle”. They were pretty tasty, the meat was well seasoned and had a lot of flavor. It came served with some arugula ( I think), green onions and wood ear mushrooms. Overall it was great, however, I think I would’ve preferred more green onions and maybe replace the arugula with cilantro (but that might just be me). Overall fast service, and easy to order. I feel they could add something additional just to create more difference in the textures, but overall great food!

Google
I really enjoy their spicy tofu noodles. It's the right balance of spicy and flavorful. Taking off a star the following reason: This is a truck, the food is to take away (yes I understand it's usually parked at spark social) and yet they serve it in an open bowl with a foil cover on it. This isn't a great solution for anyone trying to take it home or back to the office. Bags are $0.27 cents.. If they packaged it in a proper container, I wouldn't need a bag.

Google
Absolutely love the noodles, but the quantity has halved in 2 years (and price increased by over 50%)

sairahul C.

Google
Wow, really like the food. Visited this area for my wife's company event and found they have less spicier vegetarian option. After my kids loving the noodles, we ordered more . I really liked my spicy chicken noodle too. The quantity is good for the price we pay for. Definitely visit it again !!

Google
Ordered here for a 1:18 pm pick up. Placed an order through their website. Arrived a few mins early and the truck was empty. I had to call the number and spoke with someone and the worker arrived. I should have checked my order before leaving because I was given the wrong order. It was too late to go back as my lunch time was almost over. Food is ok, but due to this experience, I will not order here again. YMMV

Ethan

Google
Wait time was too long for this company event order. Otherwise I should have choose other truck

Yelp
I had to come try out this spot because egg noodles are my favorite type of noodle. Spicy chicken egg noodles: A- Tender pieces of chicken, topped with chili oil arugula, peanuts, wood ear fungus, and scallions. The noodles have a pretty satisfying texture and soak in the chili oil quite well. Not over the top with spiciness and the bowl is quite balanced. Only drawback is the portion is kind of small, but it's worth it for a good noodle dish to me.

Yelp
Today, we walked through the street food park to find out which food trucks we wanted to eat from. We stopped at this food truck because the menu look like it had super yummy dishes. I was looking for Nepalese Momo's but this is not that type of restaurant. The food truck itself is really cute and it was playing music that made you wanna dance or just hop from side side because it was so happy. When my daughter was ordering her meal, There was a little red knickknack on top that was saying hello to her and we both thought that was really cute. We were eating a super late lunch or a super early dinner so there weren't a lot of people there, when her meal was ready, she was served right away and they called her name to pick up the food. She loved the noodles And removed the mushrooms from the meal, this is a food truck that we will visit again and hopefully it is at the street food park the next time we visit.

Yelp
So many food trucks in this lot. Had trouble deciding what to order first. Ended up at this one. Noodles looked good. Ordered the momo spicy noodle w tofu. Portions could have been bigger but it was tasty.

Yelp
Tried the momo noodle and popo noodle at their food truck in Spark social. Service was super quick and included a little foil cover and utensils. The momo noodle has a nice mildly spicy mala flavor, and the popo noodle is a non spicy peanut sauce noodle with thick pork belly! It's great that they have both spicy and non spicy specialties. There's many picnic tables to sit around Spark, and it's a nice fun vibe.

Yelp
The total for Popo's Noodle bowl with pork belly was $21.72 -- really pricey for the size you get and you only have about 4 pieces of braised pork belly but damn, I swear they put some crack in these noodles coz it's HELLA GOOD The description: "Just like the flavor of grandma's home cooking! This delicious noodle dish is all about memory. Our steamed noodles are blended with a tasty sesame and peanut paste, and topped with slow-cooked braised rice wine pork belly or other proteins, wood ear mushrooms and green onion. We also add pickled ginger for an extra twist, and granulated peanuts for added crunch!" It's that magical blend of sesame and peanut paste. I would like to try the spicy versions next time, even though the price point is steep for the portion size. This is just an appetizer for me. Service was through a kiosk and order was ready within 5 minutes. Noodles in a bowl are about the easiest thing you can eat from a food truck without making a mess all over yourself.

Yelp
My toddler chose this spot for lunch at Spark Social. I appreciate the option to order noodles with no meat so it was a simpler dish for them. This was tasty! #2 Popo Bowl ($12) - 3.5 stars. Simple but most importantly enjoyable for my toddler.
google avatar

Chelly C.

Yelp
Ordered the Spicy Chicken Noodle. Had a good kick to the sauce and they give you a lot of noodles. It's a bit pricey for $16 but I feel like that's how much items are now at food trucks. Next time, I would like to try their other noodle options.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to spark social on a weekend and got the popo's noodle. The pork was cooked very well. Personally, I just didn't really like the peanut paste as much but it is overall, delicious.
google avatar

Sammi Y.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Momo Noodle is a food truck located at Spark Social so great location and lively. The food is pretty quick and service is fast. There's a tablet for ordering and then a pickup window. Sadly, I think the food is a bit one dimensional - I got the momo spicy noodle with spicy pork - there weren't many toppings and the flavors were pretty much the same overall
google avatar

Huey N.

Yelp
I was surprised by how good the spicy pork noodles were. The pork had a five-spice type flavor and some tingling from the Szechwan peppercorns. It was a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy. I also liked how thin the noodles were. I am for sure going to get this again.

Yelp
Momo Noodle has been set on my horizons for over half a year now, and today was the day I finally got to taste some fresh Popo Noodles with red wine pork belly. Wait for a meal from the Momo Pod at Spark Social took about 10 minutes after ordering, with a staff member halfheartedly peeping my number whenever the meal was ready. Spark Social is of course a beautiful, ambient social space, however Momo Noodle's service fell short from its vibrant food truck design and zesty noodle bowls. The Popo noodles are good in the context of a quick service food truck, and the pork belly was wonderfully savory. Noodles had a little flavor but were overall tame. Now, I do have a gripe with some wording on the menu because I did not know what a "pork broth marinated egg" could be. I was expecting a poached egg on my ramen but instead got an insanely boiled egg split in half; I will mark that up to my own human error however. Overall, Momo Noodle is a safe choice at Spark Social, and if you are craving some solid spicy noodles or just a bowl of comfort food, Momo will serve you well.

Yelp
I got the momo spicy noodle with spicy pork. It brought the expected heat without killing off my tastebuds. Loved the super-skinny noodles and the sprinkle of chopped green onion and fresh arugula -- so delicious in a nice portion for lunch. And I picked up the diablo spicy beef jerky to gift my crazy heat-worshipping boyfriend. I ordered on the SparkSocial site, got the notification that my order was ready, and ambled over for the pick up, which was easy-peasy. Will do this again soon.
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
Decided to stop at the Spark Social SF to try out some food truck food. Momo noodles caught our eye, so we decided to try it. I had the Momo Spicy Noodles with spicy chicken and my friend had Momo Spicy Noodles with Spicy pork. The flavor was on point with both these dishes. The spice level will open up your sinuses. But it was just right for us. Will definitely go back and try other noodle dishes from here.

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Met up with some lovely people at Spark Social when it opened. This was recommended by one of them and it was better than I expected. I have a high spice tolerance so maybe I should have gotten it more spicy but there was a kick to the noodles. The sauce was not salty (as these dishes usually are) and the pork was TENDER. I'd give it a shot if you're not sure what to choose, the ordering was simple and food was made quick - 3.5

Yelp
Tried the "Momo Spicy Noodle" with spicy pork + garlic sauce and was thoroughly impressed! It wasn't too hot or as the server said "it's not a ruin your day level of hot". :) Had a balance of spicy and rich flavors. The egg noodles were cooked just right and had enough chewy texture to make each bite a delightful experience. I added the pickled bamboo shoots to counter the spice and it provided a great balance of flavor. Once everything is mixed together, dig in! Would definitely come back again next time I visit. Maybe try the pork belly or better yet, spicy pork AND pork belly.

Yelp
The food truck was quite popular so the wait was around 15min which was so worth it. The staff was kind and spark social ambience is always great with everyone frolicking with their dogs and babies. Big fan of the spicy Momo noodle, the Szechuan spice was subtle and tastefully done and the noodle consistency mixed with the other toppings was perfect. Could eat this everyday for lunch. The hot and sour rice noodle was also good but I didn't think it was anything too special. The Diablo spicy beef was really not that spicy. I was pretty underwhelmed, not a big fan of this dish.
google avatar

Jiamei L.

Yelp
One of the food trucks at Spark Social! The truck was incredibly cute and popular. I tried the momo spicy noodle and it was indeed very mala spicy, so it is perfect for the mala spicy enjoyers. To me, it also tasted a bit bitter (not sure if sauce was too powerful or too much that it turned bitter for me). It also had lots of the meat pieces and I liked the portion size. There are lots of tables to sit and eat at. They did not have napkins however (may have ran out). Overall, I would recommend trying this food truck!

Yelp
The Momo Noodle food truck had their grand opening in Spark Social! I came here on Friday evening during their happy hour and tried their $5 Popo and Spicy Momo noodles. It's a 12oz portion so enough for a snack- if you're hungrier def get their full sized portions. They were so tasty and full of flavor! My favorite was the spicy momo noodles, they had a great kick to them. Their menu looked amazing too, I'm so excited to see that they've come to Spark!
google avatar

Ankita S.

Yelp
Ordered the spicy noodles with tofu. The dish was okay, but it was heavily soaked in sauce, making it challenging to navigate the oily texture. Incorporating crunchy elements would enhance the food. While peanuts and vegetables were supposed to be present, I found only a couple of pieces. Suggest adding veggies like bok choy and some crunchy toppings for a more balanced and satisfying meal. Service was quick. The food truck is in mission bay - I love the vibe there.
google avatar

Austin H.

Yelp
I got the momo spicy noodles and I somewhat enjoyed it. It is spicy, but not too hot, even for someone who doesn't like spicy food. The noodles did feel a bit too oily however. The proportion between noodles, meat, and vegetables is well-balanced. The nuts add a nice small crunch factor. The overall portion considering price is better than average - I imagine a lot of other places would charge $15 for a similar sized dish. The line can be long but I would say it is worth it. There is plenty of seating around the food truck.

Mei T.

Yelp
The food is fast and convenient with self order service, but taste very meh. Not much flavor other than heavy soy

Yelp
Been looking for good hot oil noodles since trying "Stretch the Noodle" in Portland so I had to give this place a shot. Tried out the Spicy Momo noodles with monster spice as well as the Popo noodles with added spice. Both bowls came out close to $20, so it's a little expensive, but at least the flavor is pretty strong. The Spicy noodles made my nose run, but I wished it had more mala and black vinegar. The Popo noodles was really tasty though. It really just tasted like a milder version of the spicy noodles with a kick of sesame and peanut paste, sort of like dan dan noodles. I think if they allowed the Popo noodles to be customized with thicker hand pulled noodles, extra sesame and peanut paste, and monster spicy levels, this would be the best hot noodles in the bay. But be careful when mixing your noodles, the chopsticks are not strong enough to push noodles around without breaking. Still looking for that taste of Portland though.

Lilly W.

Yelp
Quick order from the kiosk. My hand was in pain but the guy waited as I fumbled to get my order from him. Highlight of my doctor visit. Always reliable and tasty noodles.
google avatar

Nanjun C.

Yelp
Spicy pork noodle is a must try. I'd go for it again. A good to-go place to have lunch. The portion size is a bit large for me.

Adrina W.

Yelp
Spicy Momo noodle.... this wasn't the best but it also wasn't bad so I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5. Like others have mentioned, the noodles are very oily and it's hard to finish it all. It definitely has a nice kick to it that lingers in your mouth. I wouldn't come back for this particular noodle, but I would come back to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Jordan C.

Yelp
Spicy goodness. I got the spicy chicken noodles and it was pretty spicy and tasty. The chicken was tender and hot. Good all mixed together.
google avatar

Jinge R.

Yelp
You gotta try this! Momo noodles is different than any noodles I've had and it's now my favorite in the city! They sell fast though, make sure you go early to grab your bowl of noodle! We ordered po-po noodle, sour and spicy noodle and dessert today because momo is sold out already. We enjoyed the three items and I wonder what is that secret sauce! So yummy!

R B M.

Yelp
Delicious and unique noodles! So why not 5 stars? 2 reasons: 1. Their menu could use more variety, sometimes I get tired of getting the same 4 or 5 things! 2. I wish they would go back to doordash/uber eats, for people that hate parking in San Francisco! :(((
google avatar

Bonnie H.

Yelp
Ordered the Momo spicy noodle and it was really delicious. The portion size was also quite big.

Selene L.

Yelp
The noodles were too greasy for my stomach to handle. I think this is the reason why I have been eating less and less Sichuan food as I get older. I'm sure that people who love Sichuan food will enjoy it.
google avatar

Aditi S.

Yelp
I thought it was a Nepali restaurant at first, but it's not. I've tried their spicy pork noodle and popo noodle with pork belly and both were amazing! Spicy noodle is spicy, you won't feel it at first but it creeps up, and pork belly noodle is nutty, a little sweet and absolutely tasty! The noodles are chewy and perfect. The workers are friendly if you don't know what to get you can take their suggestion as well. Their diablo spicy beef is really good too, it's unique umami, salty and spicy taste with sesame seeds. UGH I dream about this place in my dreams! Definitely a gem in SF!
google avatar

A W.

Yelp
Food was okay, flavors didn't blow me away... good portion size, lots of sauce, I got to mix in a dim sum shrimp rice roll in with all that spicy sauce, (highly recommend adding a splash of rice vinegar - they ought to offer some - to usher forth a more complex flavor palette between savory and spicy kind of like hearing balanced highs, mids, and lows out of a solid sound system). Service was pretty quick. More friendliness or interaction would make it feel less transactional & more cute vibey.
google avatar

America A.

Yelp
These noodles will have me visit again. I ordered the momo spicy noodle with diablos spicy , I added pork belly and a bone broth marinated egg. So flavorful. Service was fast great, the line was pretty long but once I got to order my food it was only a 3 min wait. The vibe in the entire area was fun, they had some cute seatings available near by.

A J.

Yelp
Updated review after giving it a second try: this place is really good at providing a tasty, spicy, enjoyable noodle with a garlicky hint; some great meat options. Tried chicken and pork MoMo Noodles, and I would highly recommend (pork being 1a, chicken being 1b - it's pretty close).

Michelle M.

Yelp
Don't pass this food truck! Run for it. Legit spice mixed in perfectly cooked noodles.

Anna Z.

Yelp
My favorite noodles in the city! I always follow their truck around the city. So happy they open a new permanent location so I don't have to chase them down anymore. Can't wait for my next MOMO spicy noodle bowl ~~
google avatar

Venkat F.

Yelp
This is my favorite noodle spot in the city!!! I love the spicy noodles from here. They're so spicy but so satisfying! They have a green Szechuan sauce, I use that at home on my dumplings! 10/10, I've been here time after time! I'm so glad they have a permanent truck location in spark social!

Rick S.

Yelp
Finally tried this and was pleasantly surprised. Item ratings: 8/10 - spicy ground pork noodle. In some ways a basic dish w/ basic presentation, but lots of flavor, including a dash of clearly legitimate Szechuan peppercorn flavoring. Easy tablet ordering and quick preparation.

Dan Y.

Yelp
Ordered none spicy noodle, waited for 30 min later still no response. Went to talk to the staff, the staff said no more noodle. I requested a refund and he said they refunded back to me. I did not see the refund back to my account after a week: beware don't go here.

Chris L.

Yelp
Stopped by Spark Social SF over the weekend and noticed a new food truck, Momo Noodle, is in town. When we walked over, the first thing that popped out to us was the beautiful food truck with a cute shiba inu slurping away at a bowl of noodles. If noodles is your thing, and you like the numbing spices used in Sichuan hot pot, you've come to the right place! We tried Momo Spicy Noodle which is apparently a favorite in the Sichuan region, and also tried the Hot & Sour Rice Noodle which had the right amount of spices to really bring out the flavors (and our appetite). Definitely going to go back and try the other noodles on the menu.
