The Best Bars in Birmingham, Alabama | Eater Atlanta

"While their whole gimmick is nostalgia and familiarity, Mom’s Basement is a distinct enough dive that one can believe there’s no other place like it. The space is decked out with a pool table and vintage pinball machines, and framed photos of customers’ moms hang from the 1980s-esque paneled walls (Feel free to bring your own!). Weeknight events include trivia, Thursday karaoke, and free pinball Wednesdays, while weekend draws range from dance parties to vintage markets and free Sunday shows." - Sarra Sedghi

Had a gr8 thyme at mom’s bae-s-mint tonight. We were on the patty-o the whole Time. Only 1 person in the bathroom at a time! Probably a good policy. Gr8 vibe. We have 5 people here: Bon, Bon, on, cheese, and Mr stinky. Good crew. Had fun! Will be back tomorrow! See u then. Thanks. Horrible Photo Of Us.

Google
Super cool atmosphere but the “security” and bar tender need to chill out a little bit. These guys are always in your business and threatening. Kind of ruins the vibe. Bathroom situation is terrible and the staff will yell at you for knocking or walking out of there thinking you weren’t alone. Super cool place but the staff is ruining the vibe there lately. When asked , they said they have to keep the “hooligans” under control. Our party of mostly 30+ was a little offended and asked if we were being hooligans and they said no, but still treated us with this awful power trip. Better ways to handle it. Don’t let the staff ruin this place, because it is a great spot. It was almost as if the staffs guard was up and on the look out for something. Regardless, you can maintain professionalism and manage your facility still. Oh and $5 cover because there is a DJ? He played old school vinyl for 45 minutes and then played music through a phone. Again, don’t let this place slip from the stupid little things.

Google
Doorguy was cool. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. It was a very laid back vibe. primary people ages 25-35. Karaoke line had like 20 people wait.. but they'd play full non karaoke songs in between singers.. like..whyyy...lol. didn't eat there but .I gave the "food" 2 stars because the only vodka they had was titos and cathead. They had run out of Grey goose and didn't carry ketel one. And they didn't carry Heineken or corona. The place has potential..cute idea.. but we bailed bc the alcohol selection and bc the pool tables and and other forms to pass time we're always occupied. This was on a Thursday.

Tonight the bouncer rejected me with my real drivers license and refused to accept any of the other forms of identification I provided because the “hologram” wouldn’t show up on my ID. He didn’t even have an actual ID scanner… If mom’s basement accepts donations I would love to make the generous gift of a functioning scanner. I also have a 22 year old friend who was rejected the other day with her real drivers license… ridiculous

Google
My hands down favorite dive! If ya haven't been to Moms, you should visit! Service is great, atmosphere is relaxed and retro. Imagine a typical suburban basement with a bar & that's Mom's! Walls filled with pics of ... Moms! What Else?! Ha! It's very nostalgic for kids of the 70s & 80s or fans thereof.

Google
We were told not to “bang” on the door and threatened to be “kicked out” when I knocked to make sure there wasn’t anyone in there which is odd; I personally don’t like being walked in on. The bartender seemed annoyed with our orders and someone complained about us throwing darts. Weird.

Initially when I first came here, this place wasn't my vibe. But I was coming at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and getting the College Crowd, which just hasn't ever been my thing. Every other time, however, has been exactly what I needed. The happy hour rates are excellent, the service is immaculate, and the general vibe is just so comforting. It's truly starting to become my home away from home, and I truly have no complaints. Whitney is absolutely my favorite bartender, with Ben in at a close second. All of the owners have shown nothing but kindness to everyone who comes through the door, and the vast majority of the regulars are friendly, down-to-earth people. It's really not hard to make a new friend here. I truly, 100% recommend coming to Mom's Basement for the weeknight crowd. A truly pleasurable experience!

Google
Worth a visit. Week days it's a good stop to have a drink with friends and enjoy the decor.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my trip to Mom's Basement. I met a friend here for some drinks after work. I don't know how I never visited this place before. It really does remind you of your Mom's Basement. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. It is also laid back and feels like you are hanging out with family and friends. We absolutely loved our visit. We were greeted by Ralph (one of the owner's dog). Ralph was very friendly and we enjoyed him. The bartender gave us some great suggestions and told us which drinks were on the stronger side. That was really helpful in trying to decide that to get. The drinks were a decent price and they also have a pool table and other games inside. So I definitely think that this place is nostalgic and a place you can go to wind down and relax.

Yelp
Super cool dive bar with pictures of Mom's all over the walls. Feels like it's straight out of the mid to late 80s. If you like cold beer you should come here.
google avatar

Gabe P.

Yelp
Ralph ( the dog) is worth all the stars!!! He adds to the appeal Mom's Basement embodies. A friend and I came here on a Friday night. This was both our very first time here. We loved it!!!! Mom's basement really is a vibe! The name is definitely fitting and the concept is well executed. All the bartenders were helpful. My friend and I were very much interested in their frozen drinks. They have 4 frozen drink options. Best friend , mango tango , blue Hawaiian and margarita. Let me tell you , they all were well spiked! Haahah. Specifically , the blue hawaiian. I sampled it and it was stroooong!!!!! Mom's basement is everything!! It's definitely worth checking out . I will say that this is probably my fav bar in town , currently!
google avatar

Yelp
Man oh man!! I had such a killer time here!! Friendly folks, a DJ spinning great tunes, delicious drinks, and ambiance to make ya feel right at home-- at your Mom's Basement!! The bartender, Ben, was just awesome! There's a pool table where you can play pool- for free! This place just kept getting mo' betta mo' betta for me if and when i live closer I'm going to be here all the time. I recommend you do the same!

Yelp
Mom's is a hidden gem in Bham. When you need a nostalgia fix and want to feel like you've been transported to your friend's basement in the 70's, this is your jam. It's cozy, comfy, artsy and pet friendly. They have frozen drinks on tap and the friendly bartenders will whip up just about anything you can think of that they have the ingredients for. Absolutely the perfect place for a low key happy hour or a chill Saturday afternoon.
google avatar

Brensi M.

Yelp
This is a very chill dive bar ambiance, we went there on a Friday night and had a great time. There are tables around the bar and a pool table right on the side. The bartender was very nice and friendly. Everyone at the bar was hanging out and having a good time playing pool. The decor around the bar are pictures of mom's hence Mom's basement. I will definitely take my mom's picture next time I go.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Came here with my social group and literally felt like I was hanging out with my friends in somebody's family basement. The drinks were good and budget friend. The decor was perfect for the setting. The only thing I did not care for was pets are allowed inside.

Yelp
This place isn't like any other place in Birmingham. Our group loved it. The atmosphere and nostalgic vibe is something to appreciate. David was great!!

Yelp
BEER, GOOD FOR WHAT ALES YOU! I have found a new joy in finding these little hidden gems in Birmingham. When I first moved here, I didn't know the right people or have friends to hang out with who knew the good bars and places around. Now that I have these types of people in my life it has become so fun for me to go out and explore. After dinner at Melt last Friday my friend told me she wanted to show me Mom's Basement. She described Mom's Basement as the female version of Dave's Pub in Five Points South. Both of us are big fans of Dave's as that is where we started our now budding friendship. When we first arrived at Mom's Basement in order to enter the bar you have to walk down a flight of stairs to enter the basement. And believe me that is exactly what it is, its a basement. There are so many pictures of moms in the bar some of the pictures are a little more risqué then others but it really helps to bring out the theme of the bar. There is a full bar and some frozen drinks spinning in the slushee machine. I was told that though those drinks are very good, they can cause pretty bad hang overs. So I opted out to not drink those on that particular night. Instead I drank some of the local beers and lagers. I have never been the biggest beer drinker, but was happy to actually be able to try some of the beverages that everyone in Birmingham raves about. There is a very nice out door seating area attached to the bar. You are able to bring your pups and enjoy the weather. It is very nice to have that as the music can get a little too loud inside. But once there are more people inside, then the music isn't as bad. We came early in the evening so I think that is why we had some issues with the music being blasted early. This bar is a great addition to the Birmingham area and the on going bar scene that Birmingham Metro has to offer. I will certainly be back!

Yelp
A+ ambience, super comfy. Employees done seem thrilled to be here but not rude. Asked for ID. I joked about being old enough to be his grandma. Didn't actually look at the ID and put a bracelet on. Here is how one conversation went. Me: "Can I see a menu?" Employee: "We don't have one". (Points to drink cooler) Me: "What about for food?" (Which is what I meant lol) Employee: "No. We only have hot dogs." Me: (thinking they have a variety) "Do we just put the condiments on ourself?" Employee: "We have ketchup and mustard." Me- I order the hotdog, ketchup only Also me- somewhat surprised to see chips. Not what I was expecting but still a cool spot. Would be a chill place to hang out with friends.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this little gem of a bar. The customers as well as the bartenders that were there were kind and welcoming. The theme of the bar is that it's literally a basement. Think 70s vibe with wood paneling walls filled with glamour shots and risqué pictures of moms. Bringing a picture of your mom is recommended. They are always doing something there whether it be live music, trivia, karaoke...They are great at letting you know what's going on their Instagram page. I can't wait to go there again.

Eli S.

Yelp
Bad bad service. if Whitney is your bartender I would probably say that you're doing better just leaving. Demands tips at the first drink and does not care even if you were going to tip at the end. Wildest experirnce I've ever had and I don't even understand what happened. kicked us out even after we bought the beer and tried to take the beer from me. absolutely worst bar I've been to in Birmingham bc of her! yelp makes me give one star if I could I'd give zero

Yelp
If you're feeling in a nostalgic mood, this place will transport you to another time. A capsule of all things back in the day and if you got mad love for your mama, you will appreciate this place even more. If you are not looking for anything upscale and somewhere more laid back, mom's will hit the spot. Hit up the pool table or battle it out with some arcade games or get crazy with the photo booth. Such a cool place and glad we have a bar like this in the Ham!
google avatar

Yelp
Mom's is the best bar in Birmingham, hands down. Cheap beers, fun frozen drinks and shots, and an eclectic décor that transports you back to your childhood. Mom's is the dive-iest of dive bars - the entire bar is filled with pictures of people's moms, and you can bring a photo of your own mom to hang as well! They have pool, pinball machines, dart boards, and occasionally live music. They also have a small back patio if you'd rather sit outside, though it fills up quickly. I think my favorite thing about this place is the people that go there. It is one of the most diverse crowds in Birmingham, and you will always end the night with an interesting conversation! WE LOVE MOM'S!

Cameron W.

Yelp
If you are a person of color or enjoy a welcoming diverse enviornment this is not a place you want to go. The owners associated with this bar have had all the good employees that helped create the once so enjoyable quit on the due to there negligence of. Fired the only black bartender that worked his way for door to bar and weeded him out for two white bartenders that work no where near as hard as he did. They have fallen off and let that place burn. Its totally a creepy place now.
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
This place reminds me of my best friends parent's basement; straight from the 1970s with wood paneling, a praying hands lamp, pictures of people's moms, cool beer lamps, a potato chips vending machine and a vintage photo booth. They also have a pool table, dart boards, board games, pinball games (including my favorite Centipede) and a foosball table. This place is all about atmosphere and hanging out with friends. If you are looking for draft beer, you won't find it here. Only canned beer. They do, however, offer Good People and Ghost Train. One thing I can guarantee is that there is so much to do, you won't be bored. The night we went, parking was not a problem. They have a huge parking lot!
google avatar

Yelp
The best! Loved it! Fun vibe video games ... pool table so cute! Bathroom reminds you your in a basement.

Yelp
This hidden gem was in Birmingham and we were told to check it out after a wedding. It was a haul from the winery we were at but we hitched a ride and went. It remind me of (Trailer Park After Dark in San Diego) it's an edgy chill joint near a random Family Dollar Lol. I just left out 1 Star bc I don't drink beer -heads up...there's No liquor or mixed drinks. ONLY "canned" beer and wine (tried Riesling in a can but wasn't a fan. Nothing personal just didn't dig it). Pool table, old school photos of moms and pinball machines w snacks. We were starving-wish I realized they had snacks. My bad Lol. Def a laid back place to go under dressed and hang out. ~Not sure who brought the Meme game but it was funny as hell & I won! Boom!
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
Everyone was talking about this place like it was a super cool new bar. I get there last weekend with my friends, and it was literally your mom's basement lol. The uber dropped us off, and I had no idea where I was! I feel like we were in the basement of Dollar General and Tropicaleo maybe? Not a bad thing, it reminded me of Eric's basement from That 70's Show. They only had beer and wine as drink options so I didn't get anything. The basement is pretty small and well lit, so you will def see anyone you know. Don't try to hide. My friends and I played darts, Foosball, and even took a few photos in their photobooth. It was an experience for sure, and I'll probably be back.

Yelp
I'd award them a 6th star if I could. Let's jump right in. First of all this place is exactly as described. It's a freaking basement (in a strip mall). Upon Arrival - You go down some sketchy stairs into a nondescript door and walk into wood paneling and crappy furniture galore. Normally that sentence is crowbar'd into a 1-Star review but not here. That statement is the freaking foreshadowing to the amazingness that is Mom's Basement. Drink Menu - I hope you like cans because that's all you're getting. Want a Negroni? Tough luck Susan, you're getting Rose' in a can! Don't like Rose'? Okay communist...you can have sparkling Rose'. There's a half a bottle in that 12oz can. You're welcome. Now go over there and sit in that floral pattern couch from 1976 and enjoy living your best life. Ambience - see the name. If you can't extrapolate what this place is like from the name keep on scrolling. This place isn't for you. Value - If having a half a bottle of wine in a can isn't value enough, maybe staring at 41 pictures of random people's mothers will do the trick. There is also a pool table and some dart boards if you're feeling sporty. All of which are a bargain at twice the asking price cheapskate. Parking - This is one of the best things about the place. There is a huge parking lot with NO LINES. You can show up early, grab a can of Rose' and stand on their enormous 8'x12' patio and watch people struggle with one of the most simple of tasks...parking in a straight line. Which really adds value IMO. No other bar in town offers this sort of comedic performance for NOTHING! The only thing I would change about the whole place is - if you show up with your collared shirt tucked in you have to drink Bud Heavy all night. If there is a pink whale on said shirt, you have to drink two at a time. Thanks for being rad Mom's Basement...you're my new favorite addition to the city.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Nice people at this bar with a great atmosphere but Bartenders are the worst I've met in Birmingham they either need training or new staff. Not all of them but if your bartender is a dude just don't bother.
google avatar

Elise G.

Yelp
A wonderful addition to the Birmingham dive bar scene! Mom's Basement is located right underneath Sheppard's Pet Supply in Avondale. It's filled with couches, booths, pinball machines, and decorations that your Mom (more than likely) has hanging around in her house. They only serve canned beer and canned wine, so if you're looking for a liquor drink, you'll need to head elsewhere (although, you should still stop in for a cold beer). They usually have a classic/cult-classic movie playing, along with songs that everyone knows. It's easy to feel right at home here. I look forward to going back!
google avatar

Margaret H.

Yelp
Mom's Basement is my new go-to when I don't feel like dealing with many people. It's so retro and definitely feels like something out of That 70s Show. The interior is covered in wood paneling, retro lamps, un-matching chairs, magnets all over the refrigerators, and photos of mom...EVERYWHERE. They've got pinball machines, foosball, and an area for karaoke or trivia. I absolutely love their beer selection! They've got a variety of local favorites including my favorite (TrimTab Euphoria Now) for $5.00/can! SOLD! They also advertise specials like "Pizza Rolls and Bud Heavy for $5.00" on their Instagram page. Go follow them! Another added positive to Mom's Basement is that you DONT have to worry about it being cash only - thank God! Yay for technology! I'm telling you - this is sure to be a new staple in the Avondale area. Any time we have guests come in from out of town, we always suggest this place as a starting point or final destination! Super fun and I hope it's here to stay!
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I stopped in here with some family over the holidays. Below is a sampling of comments made throughout the night that may help you get a feel for the place. "My bangs are definitely not alone in here" "I see a bobo Pete Davidson over there" "This place feels like the high school parties I never got invited to" "Some of these moms are HOT" "Looks like Theon Greyjoy is playing pool" "I'm often the most hipster person in a room and somehow I am the least hipster person in this one" If you are into the kind of bars where you will see a couple quietly playing scrabble in one corner, people politely asking the crowd to shift every time they go to shoot pool, people offering strangers plates of birthday cake, and bobo Pete Davidson/Theon Greyjoy types, this place is for you. It is different from any place I have ever been in a weird and great way. Even my family members who noted that they were "way too preppy" for Mom's Basement had a great time. Give it a try!

Charmella W.

Yelp
The vibes are immaculate. The drinks are cheap. The people are open and beautiful. And the wall is full of pics of moms. So 10/10.
google avatar

Geoffrey H.

Yelp
A brand new dive bar in Avondale this place is all about moms. It's what you would expect to see in your parents den or basement if you grew up in the 70's and 80's full of awesome thrifted artifacts from the time period. Couches, pin ball machines, a photo booth, pool table and they have a mom wall dedicated to mothers. You can bring a portrait of her and they will hang it up for you. They only serve beer and wine in cans and no hard liquor. They even have pizza bites and toaster strudels for sale as well. This place will surely become a popular place as the summer months are approaching. Will definitely come back and hang out again.
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
We were really excited because every other place was closing early and totally lame or just not even open on a Monday. This place was just our speed, very rock 'n' roll. However, Monday night is trivia night and that means you can't play pinball. We came to Birmingham because Birmingham has a lot of pinball and we really could hardly play any at all anywhere because Monday is not a good day to come to Birmingham.
google avatar

Justine W.

Yelp
Someone had an idea and they truly ran with it - you will definitely feel transported back in time and feel like you're hanging out in a rando-Mom's basement. The old-fashioned fridges behind the bar really seal the deal, and there are a variety of arcade games to play. Our out-of-town cohort wanted to find a place to karaoke, and Mom's Basement does so on Thursday nights. It doesn't started until 9, though, so it felt like a commitment to party into the night. There's a great mix of people here and everyone seemed very down-to-earth and friendly. Definitely wishing my area had a place like this.
google avatar

Kara B.

Yelp
The bar is pretty cool and has a chill vibe. I've been there a few times and it's always the same bartender. She is not friendly at all and quite rude.

Alex S.

Yelp
Like drinking in Eric foreman's basement. Place is great. I try to make up for all the cool free stickers by tipping my bartenders well!
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
Stopped in on Valentine's Day. It is very much a place to stop in for drinks with a group of friends, i could even see how it would be fun to do trivia or karaoke here. However we stopped in on our way to do something else just to check it out and it isn't that kind of place. I felt very out of place. In terms of a party it would be a kick back, people who see each other all the time meeting up and talking about their day. I would give it another chance when I'm meeting friends to catch up or looking for something super casual to do with friends.
google avatar

Bethany M.

Yelp
This is the coolest concept; JUST LIKE you are 14 again in your friend's mom's basement, hanging out waiting for your friends to finish their "7 mins in heaven" game, lol. They don't have many drinks options but the options they have are ok. They have a phone booth for $5 that gives you a strip of photos that are both super nostalgic and amazingly awesome. Its a cool place to hang and grab a beer but eat before you come.
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
I'm going to gently, lovingly refer to Mom's Basement as The Poor Man's Atomic Lounge. I mean that with the deepest sense of endearment. They are doing a specific thing with a specific vibe, and they are doing it well. Caught a Koo Koo Kangaroo / MRYGLD show here on a Thursday night, and it was a fun experience! It feels like Mom's is the epitome of hipster irony: the drinks are only in cans! the food is all frozen, microwavable! wood paneling! pool table! Yes, yes, it's all quite quaint. As others have stated, it's an actual basement in an actual strip mall, complete with a plethora of photos of various moms. They really commit to their theme, that's for sure. While the canned options are great, I do enjoy a cocktail from time to time. Would love to see the theme evolve to include the parents' liquor cabinet.... It's definitely a fun dive bar, and a cool thing to experience, but I can't say that I would choose it over Parkside or one of the other Bham Classics.
google avatar

Alex J.

Yelp
I went here in a Sunday afternoon so it was pretty much empty. It's weird because it truly feels like your at your grandmas or moms house depending how old they are. It also feels like pretty much any dive bar in the mid west. There are fun games here, pinball, pool, darts and cool sitting areas just not very many of them. Only negative is it's kinda hard to find but that probably changes on a busier night of the week. I would go back but not somewhere I'll go on a regular basis.
google avatar

Keeshia P.

Yelp
Great cool spot that actually looks like your best friend's mom's basement. Old school arcade games and your usual bar games are available. The late hours allow for extended fun times with friends. It's also great that they offer a variety of craft beers.
google avatar

Patton S.

Yelp
Classic. Wood panel walls. Pictures of people's moms all over the wall. Happy hour specials with Totino's Pizza rolls and a PBR. This place is unlike anything I've seen before. Fantastic concept for a bar. It feels like you can sit with. Comfortable, unpretentious, eccentric and fun. Love the creative vibe going on in BHM's scene right now.
google avatar

Fernando P.

Yelp
My friend and I came to this place during Haloween for their event since we heard a lot of good things about it. It's definitely a cool throwback and pretty chill. We had to wait in line since they apparently have a 100 person capacity and it is small. Definitely not the place to be mysterious. I will say that this place has a sort of vibe that other bars don't have. It lacks a lot in drink options and space/danceroom. If you want a cool bar to chill at and spend time with friends then this is it. You will see some cool dancers here but there rlly isn't that much room to join in and have a dance party which kinda sucks. Overall it was fun and I will definitely come by again since the vibe is rlly laid back and fun.
google avatar

Roy M.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool. It has a nostalgic feel with old couches, pictures on the walls, and wood paneling. They have a limited selection of drinks as they only serve canned beer, but that actually adds to the feel of the place. Your standard miller lite, bud light, colors light, etc are $3. The place is really hard to find. It is actually in the basement of a shopping center in the Avondale area. There is no way you would ever find it unless you know you are going there as I had trouble finding it and I was already meeting friends there. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was no one there but that could have been due to the fact it was a Sunday afternoon. I'd recommend checking this place out. Simple cheap beer selection. Nostalgic feel. Actually pretty clean as well.

Florence H.

Yelp
I really loved Mom's before they exploded. Karaoke night was really fun and I could actually go and my friend would get to sing a few songs. Now it's always a two hour wait before she can even do her first. On top of that it's way too crowded on karaoke night with standing room only and it takes 30 minutes to wait in line to use the restroom. I wish they did two karaoke nights a week to spread things out. Maybe one on Tuesday for us old people who can't stand how loud and crowded it is and thursdays for the young kids who like to be crazier.
google avatar

Gaurav G.

Yelp
It was a very cool bar to hangout. The name makes complete sense as you literally feel like you are in your basement of your childhood home. They have a pool table that is free to play, pinball game, darts, a photobooth, and a full bar. The drinks are not pricey either. It is overall a fun place to hangout with your friends and to grab a drink or play games.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
Literally a basement turned into a bar. Mom's Basement is quirky and a little unassuming. It exudes a very chill, home-y atmosphere that attracts a hip late twenties crowd. They serve beer and wine only, no liquor unfortunately. There's also a pool table as well as vintage arcade games to entertain you. You can also bring a picture of your mom to hang on the "mom wall" as well. The space is a little small, so I do see space possibly being a bit of an issue once more people find out about this newly open joint. Definitely worth checking out to grab a drink and bask in the nostalgia of hanging in your mom's or friend's mom's basement.

Yelp
Solid BHM original where you can come in, grab a drink and spend some time with friends (or even make some new ones). It's in a very walkable part of Avondale so you can make a night of bar hopping, although I doubt you'll want to leave Mom's anytime soon. Don't forget to bring a picture of your mom to hang on the wall. It's a nice little touch that makes this place even homier than it already is. Stop in for a few drinks, or karaoke, maybe a concert or one of the other great events that they have. Whatever is happening, I promise you won't be disappointed. It's a great spot, with good drinks that's bursting with nostalgia. Give Mom's Basement a try, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Cool concept and cheap cheap drinks. They have free shoes and a nice vibe for night life. Will be back

Yelp
This place does in fact look like someone's Mom's basement. Very quirky, very chill, a great addition to Birmingham night life. But if you are looking for a wild night out this place is not for you. They have a large variety of beers and ciders available. The rosé cider that they serve is my personal favorite. This place is defiantly worth checking out!

Yelp
Perfect spot to chill, hang out with friends and have a beer. It's not trendy, just a dive bar with pool table, dart boards, and fridges full of canned beer. Love it!

Yelp
Ahhh.... man.... you got to go! Got to! It's the most beautiful bar in Birmingham! The canned beer and wine is cold and the women are down right beautifuuuuuul. Everyone there was beautiful and the bar tenders were downright delicious!!!!!!

Yelp
David Bates and Ella Horne are the sexiest bartenders in Birmingham. God bless America.

Yelp
Moms Basement was exactly what I thought, a cool mix between an 80/90s basement. Something out of Married With Children(ish), Peggy Bundy style. They completely stuck with the theme the whole way through. I loved the fact that I could get a scoop of cheese balls and a beer and take a few shots in the photo booth. Board games, beer, photo booth and a few snacks are the best way to spend a chill day. Love this place.
