Mom's MoMo and Deli

Small but mighty! They get it done and they do it well. The interior is well decorated, with artifacts and items that didn’t feel too gimmicky. Service was smooth. Def took a min but nothing ridiculous. Food was good, chowmien banged & chicken momo was satisfying but a lil bland. Would come again!

Visited with 3 friends and we shared everything each of us ordered. I ordered the pork deep-fried dumplings, spiral potatoes, and pani-puri. So flavorful and delicious. When I tasted my friend's fried rice, I knew I had to come back and get my own, which I did for takeout, and the container was PACKED FULL. I will definitely return sooner rather than later, even though this is nowhere close to my home.

Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Casual environment that's nicely decorated. Immediately was greeted by gentleman at the register. He was very in explaining some dishes and their heat levels. Everything looked great, so ordered the Keema noodles at medium heat, samosas, and mango lassi. They give you some complimentary tea that was amazing. I would've ordered a jug of this to go if I could've. Food was just as amazing as the Keema noodles were some of the best I've ever had. I wish I had a few more days in Harrisburg as would've come back for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend this place for great food and service.

Wow!! Haven’t been this impressed in a local restaurant like this in a long time! The outside is unassuming, but once you go inside, the owner is welcoming and invites you to take a seat and order at the counter. The ambiance is of the mountains of Nepal, quite unique! The owner thoughtfully helped us pick a variety of dishes with different tastes- we ordered the chatpate momo, jhol/steamed momo, crispy pork belly, chili chicken, and strawberry lassi. The chatpate momo was deep fried and crispy with bean sprouts- delicious. The chili chicken made my Indian husband very happy- we have tried this all over the US and haven’t found a flavor that’s this tasty, the meat was also juicy. The pork belly had a wonderfully chargrilled taste, crispy and satisfying without being dry. The owner showed us how to eat the jhol momo while also trying the momo plain with sauce. The skin was so nice and thin and the filling was well seasoned and juicy. I highly recommend this! The strawberry lassi was made with fresh strawberries. All the staff were so kind and respectful, I felt I was at a relative’s house enjoying their cooking. Portions were generous and affordable. We will be back 100%! Update 4/27/25: These momos are just as great as my first time! In the past year we’ve traveled to many places including California, Boston, India, and China and haven’t found any momos as good as Mom’s MoMo. The jhol momo especially is outstanding and you can’t help but drinking the jhol. We also tried the jhaneko momo and it was beautifully pan fried with bell peppers and onions, and the crispy spiral potatoes were fried perfectly, with light batter and seasoning. We were so touched the owner remembered us and the staff were all so pleasant and respectful. I also loved the complimentary water bottles. Can’t wait to come back!

WOW! Hidden gem for sure! 💎 Walked into a beautiful scenery on my right and a cute themed dining area. Admittedly, I felt taken care of when he knew that was my first time there and started asking what I was in the mood for and recommended a few things! The presentation of the food and drink was gorgeous, and the TASTE.....SCREAMED FRESH, HOMEY, AND FLAVORFUL, even though my tummy was a little upset prior to coming in, I still tried the Chili sauce he had on the side. AGAIN...FRESH, SPICEY, AND FLAVORFUL (saved that for my significant other to try, he loves spicy). The guy up front was such a sweetie and deserved more than the 20% tip I left. Now to mention it, everyone working there, were sweeties and you can really tell that they put a lot into the food and the atmosphere to bring it all together. 😘👌Chefs Kiss! 100% coming back, I might be generous enough to share this hidden gem with my friends, but I gotta come back again for date night before I blow my cover, then I'll tell them to meet up 🤫😅

Definiatly recommend!! I would definitely come here again!!! Great service and cozy charming family friendly atmosphere, the food was delicious, I got the Pork Jhol Momo and Strawberry Lassi w Poppings. It was tasty natural and sweet w real strawberries and shaved coconut. And everyone was warm and so friendly it was very nice. Im not from the area and made a wrong turn getting there was an hour late picking up my order and they called 40 mins after I placed my order asking if everything was okay, I said I got lost and was on my way. When I arrived they told me they re made my meal so that it would still be hot and I thanked them so much and he said "Of course it got cold I could not have given you a cold meal." That was so thoughtful, and such great service! Thanks Mom's MoMo and Deli : )

The momos are absolutely delicious and the service excellent for an order-at-the-counter place. Very thankful for their patience with these couple of white bulls in a china shop... Lots of people were eating noodle bowls of sorts, we'd come back to try them, too. Diamond in the rough of the Harrisburg area.

Good environment. Subba dai (host ) is amazing . Its a must try authentic Nepali food restaurant in Harrisburg. We ordered Chili momo, puri tarkari, thupka, keem noodles. 10out of 10 on all of them. ✌️😁. Highly recommend.

First time at a Momo restaurant and will definitely go there again! Our order was a pork Chili Momo and a Chicken Chowmein. Would get both again but will explore the menu. Staff was great, Anil helped us decidel-great choices and Thank You Dan​

I was super surprised by this place. It was interesting to learn that there was a strong Nepalese community in this area, and this is supported by our meal here! We had a tough time deciding between 2 momo options, so naturally we got both. The chili momos were my favorite dish of the day. A deliciously crispy texture, spicy but not so that would make you not want it. And a hearty portion that came with some flavorful vegetables, as well. Never a HUGE fan of jhol momos, but these were also super delicious. A lovely color to the sauce, great flavoring. Also a hearty portion. Surprisingly, the noodle dish with the semi-fried? beef was my least favorite dish. Aesthetically beautiful with I think ?lentils? that I wasn't so familiar with. I just didn't think the beef was all that interesting (neither crunchy enough nor tender enough so a weird place in the middle). The noodles were somewhat hard to eat with just a fork/spoon and probably would have benefitted from some version of chopsticks. Would absolutely come back for more momos. The menu is everything I would expect from a Nepalese place to...what I would expect of a Coney Island stand (why they serve corn dogs, mozz sticks, etc. escapes me). Service is superb and they're super nice. They serve you a cup of a lovely tea and we were given a mini bottle of water. However, I do wish we had the option for a glass of simple tap water, especially as some of the dishes are spicy. Overall, a total surprise and delight.

The food was so delicious! The owner was really nice and gave us suggestions for what to try next. I got the jhol momos for takeout. They were to die for!!! I will definitely dine in next time!

Setup as a fast casual restaurant, this place serves surprisingly authentic delicious Nepali food. Upon ordering staff questioned my want for spice, which I appreciate, and when I said spicy they said medium spicy. And it was medium spicy, spicy but still edible. While I may have been the only non-Nepali person in the room, everyone was welcoming and I didn't feel out of place. Will definitely return and recommend.

First off. I'm bad about leaving reviews. I should be better at that. I've been driving to Harrisburg weekly for work and after getting bored with food options, a coworker recommended trying Mom's Momo. I had low expectations, I walked in and didn't know what to order off the menu. I picked something random that looked decent. The guy behind the counter responded "no, you don't want that". I may have pushed back lightly but then said I was open to suggestions. He guided me towards the Momo in the broth. I'll cut out some more details, but he helped with spice levels (I like spice but went cautious and he gave some extra spice on the side in case I wanted it) I got the food and I was blown away. It was the perfect combo of savory and sweet. I couldn't get enough. I left my bowl clean and I was texting all my friends back home telling them they need to try this sometime. It's been 7 hours, and I'm still craving more! I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to find a place that sells something similar yet in DC. But honestly, this place makes waking up at 6am to drive to Harrisburg worth it.

Absolutely fantastic! Ordered a variety of delcious momos as well as panpurri and samosa chaat. Literally every dish was perfection! A fun place to bring friends or family especially if they have never had Nepalese cuisine. Portions are huge and great for sharing, plus very inexpensive (dishes were around $12 each). Restaurant is fast-casual with comfortable seating, pretty ambience, and very kind service. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu!

We aren't local, were looking for a place for lunch on our way home and based on reviews, decided to try this, not knowing Nepalese cuisine. Well you're in for a treat! What a flavorful cuisine! - it's service at the counter but the person which I'm assuming was one of the owners was incredibly helpful, and super friendly, and the food is absolutely incredible. I'd go out of my way to eat here, and I've started looking for Nepalese restaurants in our area!

Immersive cultural interior as soon as you walk in, then you're greeted by the kindest owner at the register. He saw that me and my friend were new and went out of his way to recommend us things that we would like. We ended up getting their chicken chili momo, pork thukpa and pani puri. I actually had a friend tell me about a place nearby with pani puri and was pleasantly surprised to find out this was the place they were referring to. Presentation was on point and the soup/sauce were bursting with flavor! Wish I had room to try other stuff on their menu but will just have to wait till next time~

My fiancé and I really enjoyed the momos here. It was comfort food to the max! The service was spectacular. We ordered for pick-up, and the worker called us to inform us when our food was ready.

I just gotta say this is hands down my favorite restaurant in this area. The family is extremely nice and helpful and the food speaks for itself. Don't be afraid to branch out and try new things. The inside is really nicely decorated and very homey feel. The service is also super quick. Now to the food, the jhol momos are a must try. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the momos but these are deff my favorite. The shrimp fried rice was a pleasant surprise. The portions are huge and the longer grain rice is a nice taste! Don't forget to try the keema noodles, puri, and pyagi. You will definitely need to make multiple trips but it's worth it

If I could give a million more stars, I would! I am absolutely addicted to the food here and go mostly once a week. They are a family run business, which I love and choose those over chains any day! A family member working there told me their Mom makes their momos fresh daily, no surprise, as they are always taste fresh and pack tons of flavor into those little steamed packages of deliciousness! We have also tried the chow mein, which is very flavorful, complete with a slice of fresh lime to squeeze over the top. and hope to branch out more as we go. I'm happy to say, I was finally able to snap a pic of my pork momos after the months We've been eating here. Most times,we find ourselves gobbling them up so fast I forget, lol! Decided to try the Nepalese food here. The young man at the counter was very helpful in advising us what he thought were their best dishes. He was spot on! Everything we got had so much flavor, was served hot, and was delicious! Portion were plentiful. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend you give it a try

Amazing food. Pleasant staff and service. It was the first time I've ever tried Momo, got a couple of different dishes, and they were incredibly tasty.

WOW! This place is fantastic! A great refreshing restaurant, I am so glad this spot opened up! The staff was super nice and helpful, I've been here once and I'm sure I'll be back again soon! I ordered a few items off of their extensive menu and was pleased by every single item Gulab Jamun: a sweet pastry ball in a sweet sugary broth, they were fresh and delicious! Vegetable somosa: a great mixture of potato and various vegetables seasoned to perfection wrapped in a crispy dough then fried, these were amazing and the flavor was on point! Vegetable lo mein: this is a dish I've only been able to get from Nepali friends and always wished I could find it in a restaurant and I was finally able to find a good option, their noodles are cooked well and I love the way they season their noodles. Chicken momo: the dumplings were cooked well, they were not falling apart or sticking to each other and the chicken filling was great (although I'd like to try their veggie momo next time) the chutney they give as a dipping was AMAZING I might even ask for a second order of the chutney next time because I enjoyed it so much! If you want to try traditional Nepali food or even a decent deli I would highly recommend coming to Moms Momo & Deli!

Wow! I can't believe I've waited so long to try this place out! Service was great! The gentleman that waited on me was super friendly, and it was a pleasure to have someone help me that had such joy at what they were doing. I ordered chicken steamed momo, pork johl momo, and chicken chowmein, and it all was fresh and delicious. I can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

Fantastic find! I love ethnic food, so I have been wanting to try this place. A small group of us went Mountain Biking on Paxtang trails, then had a phenomenal lunch here! The owner and staff were super cordial, answered all of our questions, and treated us very well. I love cooking, and he took time to talk about the various foods and prep. We ordered the chili momo, goat biryani, and chicken curry. Everything was delicious with generous portions. We will be back. What a great cap to an awesome bike ride!

AMAZING! I wasn't sure what to expect and was sad they didn't have any of the sandwiches, but I got the steamed chicken momo (dumplings) and the chicken curry with rice. Both were fantastic! The sauce for the dumplings was a thicker orange color and delicious, the seasoning was great and the size was perfect. The chicken curry was divine, my only complaint was there wasn't more sauce. Also, unlike Indian curry, this did not leave a lingering smell after it was eaten. 10/10 will return to this deli!!!

This place is amazing! The food was amazing, I went with my Nepali friend and she was raving about it being the best in town. They have options for vegans and vegetarians as well and quite frankly all the food was perfect. The customer service is always great, the owner is so sweet and helpful. He even gave me extra soup. Apart from the amazing food the place is so cute, they have a great ambiance, the inside looks like you're in a Nepali village. I recommend this place 100% guys

Great momos and super friendly staff -- definitely a hidden gem!

Low key, with Nepalese deliciousness! You can get run of the mill deli boarshead deli sandwiches and salads, BUT WHY?? Go out of your comfort zone and order some of the Nepalese dishes! You can get them as spicy as you want. They have samples of them in the deli counter and just ask them how to eat them! The owners are super nice! Don't be intimidated to try new foods!

The Momo here is really delicious. Whenever we are in Harrisburg we make sure to order takeout from here. I hope they maintain the flavors.

Amazing place. I couldn't find it on Yelp so I went ahead and made the page myself. That's how much I love it. My sister normally is picky about her chicken and loved it from here. I normally dislike my eggs and loved it. The aesthetic and vibe from his restaurant is gorgeous. The photos I put up are not sufficient to say the least. It is 10xs better. All the staff there are so kind and sweet, they made me feel right at home. Not just that they have a little bit of everything here. To top it off, the prices are unbeatable. Reminds me of my favorite restaurant at my home town. Although this place is better I will not lie. This is a jem surrounded by rocks. Any other place I go to now will not be able to compare to here. I love it with all my heart.

Im glad these non traditional american eateries are popping up everywhere around this area...Im a big fan of Indian food and Nepalese I heard was Similar...Tried the biryani while spicy it was tasty hit all my Gspots...And whoever complained about the roaches that's free protein and as a wannabe bodybuilder that's a bonus..When the zombie apocalypses hits roaches will look as tasty as fresh fried pig guts we all love

We love it here. It doesn't have the ambiance really for dining in, but we get takeout regularly and it is always good. Pork Chili momo, pani puri and samosa are our favorites!

My sister stopped in a got take out, so this is a food only review. Everything is fabulous! The pork Momo were definitely my favorite, followed closely by the aloo dum and samosas. The meat pie and chicken biryani were also excellent! We finished up with some delicious gulab jamun, which is a favorite of mine. Definitely give this place a try!

The momos varieties are good compared to other Nepali restaurants, got some varieties as well.

I was really excited to try yet another of the Nepali restaurants popping up around here! I walked in during lunch to pick up some take out for my family. Excellent food! Tried two types of the steamed momo, pork and vegetable. The sauce it comes with is spicy, but they don't even need sauce if you prefer a more mild dish. We also tried the sahphaley which is a meat pie, and samosas. Both had great pastry on the outside and were well seasoned inside. Also decided to sample the desserts. Rasmalai and gulab jamun come in smaller portions, but this is good because they are very sweet. They are nothing like usual American desserts so I recommend trying them. Already looking forward to coming back here.

Food tastes great, is priced reasonably and offered in good portions. Humble owners. The flavor is sort of a mix of homemade and street taste and very enjoyable. Favorite take out destination for Nepalese/Himalayan cuisine.

It may have once been a subway, but Mom's Momo serves fantastic Nepalese style dumplings and entrees. There's also a deli menu--turkey sandwiches and diner breakfast eggs and such--but the momo are fantastic. The dipping sauce for the regular momo is just hot enough, and the jhol momo are swimming in delicious savory sauce that you could drink with a straw. If you've never enjoyed Nepalese dumplings before, you're in for a treat.
