You can not go wrong here - try the chowder, it's delicious!!! Try the fish and chips!!! They are amazing. Calamari!! Comes with a house Thai sauce....even their tartar sauce deserves accolades!! Then the staff - friendly.....so friendly and knowledgeable!!!! One of the few places I would give 6 stars

We love Monaghan’s! We try to get our 4 yr old as involved as possible in understanding food and helping cook. She wanted to wait at the counter while they prepared our Black Bass and when I came back, she had made a friend and was learning about Makerel! Always great for a quick and high quality lunch too!

Incredible quality with a rotating selection of different fish and other seafood. The prices seem a bit high until you taste the food and realize it's just right. I love the Kerrytown atmosphere, as well.

I've been a customer of Monahan's for quite some time. Yesterday my husband and I came in for lunch. The man at the counter was writing down several orders (pen/paper etc) and then without washing hands proceeded to grab raw seafood from the case with both hands, then waled to the register, wiped his hands on his apron and started to use the register. We declined out food and said that was very poor food hygiene and the likelihood of cross contamination was high. Both people behind the counter laughed at us, so we immediately walked out. Will not be back.

Fantastic quality seafood. The 3 East coast oysters available when we visited were all excellent, and the teriyaki marinated tuna made for a fun poke-esque raw snack on its own (though the staff will tell you it's a "searing tuna" and not a sushi/sashimi grade cut - which should tell you how good their other cuts are!)

Ran over when I saw the post for the soft shell crab lunch special! Lightly seasoned with a dusting of batter and nicely fried... came with a side of slaw. Sooo good! Got the the salmon burger (bit thinner than expected in size) with homemade Cajun fries for someone else. Food was good, sauce was tasty and hit the spot for lunch.

Very lively, fast-paced, open market style fresh fish spot. Choose your fillet from beds of ice and they will prepare it perfectly according to your preferences. Fun spot to grab a tasty lunch.

The fish & chips were nice. The chips were super salty. Overall, lunch was nice. Everyone who worked there was cool. I'm going to eat there again pretty soon
