Monarch Camps is truly a special place. The leadership team is incredibly hardworking and dedicated, and it shows in every detail of the camp experience. What stands out most is how deeply they care — not just about safety, but about making sure every single camper has a memorable and meaningful summer, whether they attend for just one week or return for multiple summers. One of the highlights was their overnight sleepover — such a unique and wonderful experience! It was clear how much thought, care, and intention went into the planning. From the activities to the way the staff engaged with the campers, everything felt purposeful and full of heart. Monarch Camps creates a warm, joyful, and safe environment where campers can be themselves, try new things, and make lasting memories. I can’t recommend them enough. — Gladys

My 5 year old goes to Cub Camp at LACC and she absolutely loves it! The staff is great and so friendly. They have made such an impact on her development and social skills. Everyone is very attentive and I feel safe leaving my child in their care. Every day she comes home with so much to say. The creative activities, outdoor games, swim time, and field trips are so much fun and keep my daughter not only happy but super busy. I love that they keep her active. I would definitely recommend the summer program to others.

Geoff, Paul and the other staff have been nothing short of amazing all of these years. I've never had an issue here, and my kids continue to love and thrive here, both summer, spring, winter, and after school camps. There are plenty of activities, fun, and a safe environment for the kids. The counselors are also top notch and have great personalities which I appreciate. I am thankful for Monarch.

This was my daughter's 1st time at this camp. Her friend convinced her to go and the people are simply awesome. She loved her time here it just sucks it is just for a week.

My son has been going to this camp for 3 years, the best summer program in the valley hands down. full day itinerary, different camps, provided lunches, field trips and fun. He’s excited to be a JR camp counselor in the up coming years

We love Monarch Camp! My daughter (6) attended all summer and really got a lot out of it. The camp's been around a long time, so they've got it all down pat. The counselors are all well-trained, young, friendly and energetic. They all seemed to know my daughter's name. The complimentary before- and after-care was important to me as a working parent, because so many of the other camps I looked at didn't accommodate my working schedule (Out at 3:00? GMAB). Monarch is a little more expensive than the camps that don't have a pool, but the pool was so important to us. And they make it affordable with a very easy and convenient payment plan. The administration is great at communication and responds promptly to emails, listens to feedback and tries to resolve any issues that may occur. They were very helpful with accommodating a couple of early pickups we had to do at the last minute. The weekly field trips were amazing! All the great kids places that I don't have time to take her to. Now I don't have to, because she got to go with Camp! I also really like that at pickup the children were all having fun enjoying largely unsupervised free play. Not every moment of their day needs to be micromanaged! Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of counselors around keeping an eye on things. But nobody was telling the kids what to do and how to play during the aftercare portion of the day. I never had trouble finding my child at pickup (except for the one time she was in the bathroom). They are all in clearly-marked tents with their age groups. Like I said, they've got this down to a science. We chose to do the classic day camp instead of a specialty camp because we wanted her to have a well-rounded experience where she got to try a lot of different things. The fact that they swim twice a day (class/practice in the morning and then a "free swim" in the afternoon) was important to me because I really wanted my daughter to become a strong, confident swimmer and she DID. Next year, though, she wants to do Tumbling camp. She'll still get to do the free swim in the afternoon, so she'll get the best of both worlds. I'm so happy and relieved that she can go to Monarch Camp all summer and have a blast while being safe and looked after by loving professionals.

My 8 yo son went to four weeks of Monarch Summer Camp this year and he had a great time. It was well-organized. The counselors were good. There were no activities he didn't like. He did Aquatics, Basketball, and Soccer camps (no field trips). They played the sports in the morning and did other fun activities in the afternoon. His favorite was the diving in Aquatics camp. As a parent, I liked that the security at pick-up was better than other camps. One day my son hit his head and the camp EMT was with him right away, called me, and handled it very professionally. We needed early pick-up twice a week and they were helpful with that and did not charge us for it. A bonus was the swim lessons in Aquatics. In two weeks we saw a big improvement in his swimming ability and he learned the flip turns.

We are very pleased with Monarch Camps. We came across Monarch while researching camps in the valley after receiving a recommendation from a friend. I took a tour last summer and was sold! The camp is safe and well-organized and orchestrated. All staff members and volunteers are super welcoming, caring, and helpful. They use new, state-of-the-art gyms, equipment, and rooms (rock wall, gymnastics gym, etc.) Traditional day camps and specific sports camps are offered. In the summer, children learn to swim twice a day and are lead and closely supervised by skilled, nurturing staff. Children are grouped according to their ages. Our daughter was very happy attending Monarch! She enjoyed the time she spent there making new friends, singing camp songs, doing fun activities, and learning from her counselors. We are definitely returning, and cannot wait for our son to join too. They will have so much fun together there!

Yelp
Coach Charlie is the best! He is very communicative and wonderful! My daughter enjoys doing gymnastics at Monarch! Highly recommend this gym because of the wonderful people that work here!

Yelp
My daughters enjoy their gymnastics classes at LAVC. Both girls look forward to their class on a weekly basis. LAVC offers a variety of gymnastics equipment and my girls get to try different activities! The coaches have been very caring and supportive. Registration is on the 15th of the previous month. Make sure you register right away, classes fill up! We have been parking on the street next to the gym, they don't charge for parking right now.

Yelp
My son (6) has been taking boys gymnastics class and he really likes it. They sure learn what their little body can't and can do.

Yelp
We love the gymnastics and rock climbing classes at Monarch! It's conveniently located at LA Valley College, the price is right and there are many class days and times to choose from. My daughter looks forward to going to her classes where she can climb ropes, balance on the beam and get all kinds of great coaching. For anyone whose littles might be interested in gymnastics it's a great place to start.

Yelp
I am so glad we found Monarch for after-school activities. They provide safe drivers, classes, fun staff, and day camps when LAUSD is out. My kiddo loves the staff, the activities, and the snacks! I love the flexibility of last-minute pick-ups, homework being done, and of course, the fun activities!

Yelp
My daughter is loving her gymnastics classes at Monarch Camps! The staff is top notch and the facility is quite amazing! It's also super clean and they remained very Covid cautious with kids still wearing masks. I'd recommend Monarch Camps to everybody!

Jenn Q.

Yelp
We had an amazing rock climbing party for my seven year old!!! The staff was professional and a pleasure to work with. They helped me with setting up the room and bringing in the food. The kids loved working with them. I loved having the entire room to ourselves for rock climbing and for the pizza and cake. It was a massive room just for our birthday party that included a refrigerator as well as stove for us to use. We also had temporary tattoos that the kids loved!!! I would highly recommend your next party for your kids at Monarch Camps!!!

Yelp
My child really enjoys the gymnastics program and looks forward to every class. We've also had a very good experience with the various summer camps: soccer, tumbling, dance, glee, and fine arts the past 2 years.

Yelp
My daughters are age 3 and 5 and they absolutely love gymnastics class. They look forward to it every week and I am seeing major improvement especially with my 5 year old. Great coaches and it's a nice facility.

Leah M.

Yelp
Posting 5 stars for Monarch's gymnastics class. My kid loves this class and is worn out by the end, which is great. She has told me this is "her sport" and would do this daily if she could! They move through the gym and work on different areas in each class (one day they may do beam, the next the bar). It's very chill and not competitive, great for beginners.
google avatar

LeeAnn S.

Yelp
Only good things to say about Monarch Gymnastics! The gymnasium is spacious with all the necessary equipment. Great coaches that appear to meet kids where they are at. They have been reliable, consistent and communicative with COVID-19 protocols and procedures. Easy online registration process. Most importantly, my kids love it here! We have been happy every step of the way.

Yelp
A great afternoon activity for kids. My son has A LOT of energy and Monarch always does their best to accommodate him. He learns great gymnastic skills and gets a good sweat on. The coaches are very friendly and approachable.

Yelp
My daughter has been doing gymnastics and rock wall on and off since pre pandemic. She absolutely adores the rock wall class and is learning really interesting vocabulary and techniques. She's paused gymnastics for now to focus on rock wall but I know she misses it and one day we will go back. The staff if lovely.

Yelp
Monarch Camps Gymnastics is great! We've been coming here for about 4 years with our kids. The coaches and the facility are hard to beat, especially with how reasonable the price is. There's all sorts of equipment - balance beams, bars, trampoline, foam pit, ropes, and more. Now with COVID restrictions relaxing we're able to stay inside the facility to watch our kids again. It's fun to watch how they improve each week and they have so much fun doing it.

Jay M.

Yelp
I wanted to write to acknowledge your great staff... I was at your Agoura location for an 8yo's bday party. My younger daughter was a bit intimidated trying to keep up with the big kids, so she was pretty clingy to mom and dad. Ori, who was working the party, was fantastic. He offered to take our little one around the gym to get her comfortable. He allowed us to briefly walk her out there, as well, which we appreciated. He asked us if there was anything else he could do to show her a fun time. It was above and beyond. She wound up having a great time just hopping around some of the bars and trampoline. He was also super fun with the older kids; was encouraging and patient. Thanks for having a fantastic team to make your guests' time enjoyable!

Yelp
My daughter has been coming to Monarch camp for gymnastic and rock climbing for the last three years. The staff is great. My daughter wanted to have her birthday party there. We had a great experience. She had a gymnastic party of 15 kids where we had their huge gym to ourselves During the first half of the party , the coaches had the kids to do activities on their gymnastic equipment. Parents had watch from outside of the room. I think the parents appreciated it because they got a hour break. After the gymnastic session, we were given a big room with a refrigerator to have food and drinks. They allowed us to bring our own food. My daughter was thrilled when we had Chipotle cater it. The party lasted for about 2 hours which was perfect. For Monarch camp, the cost was about $300 which is an awesome price. We will come back for her next birthday for rock climbing.

Yelp
My 9 year old son takes the kids rock wall class and he enjoys the challenge. The teachers are patient and kind. My daughter also takes gymnastics here and it has really helped her to become more confident. The teachers are very encouraging and give each child care and instruction. The facility is clean and offers state of the art equipment.

Tara A.

Yelp
My daughter enjoys gymnastics immensely. The facility is clean, organized and has so much equipment. The coaches are wonderful, professional and patient. My daughter is learning such great listening skills and is getting great exercise. She practices at home! We've been attending since the summer and will continue to attend for the rest of the year.

Hope S.

Yelp
The best bargain for a Valley gymnastics class that we've found! Teachers are consistent and facility is well-run.They've also been really responsive when trying to decide whether my daughter is ready to move up to intermediate classes.

Ali W.

Yelp
My 7 yr old daughter learned more in a month of Monarch gymnastics than she did in a year at a different college's kids program! She's now in intermediate and my little one is a beginner. Both are growing stronger by the week. I love the emphasis on core and form. My four year old is leaning proper plank! There's a lot of staff so the kids are always busy and supported. Really love this program and so glad we found it.

Noemi M.

Yelp
Highly recommend Monarch Camps to everybody! We have been fans of Gymnastics at LAVC Monarchs for years. My daughter thrives when doing gymnastics classes at Monarch Camps! The best courteous, understanding and professional staff in a very clean and beautiful facility. Also COVID-19 cautious. I'm so happy to be back at Monarch Camps!

Laura M.

Yelp
My daughters are enrolled in intermediate gymnastics and they absolutely LOVE it! They look forward to each and every session! The staff is well trained, respectful, kind and truly amazing! Charlie sets a great example for all to follow. This facility is clean, organized and they create a fun environment for the students. If you are looking for a place where your children feel like they belong, then this is the place for you!

E W.

Yelp
Both my kids love the gymnastic classes at Monarch. Teachers are awesome and make sure all the kids are involved.

Rose S.

Yelp
My family loves the gymnastics classes offered through Monarch Camps at LAVC. The huge state of the art gymnasium offers all kinds of activities for gymnastics. The instructors are attentive, knowledgeable and caring towards the students. I highly recommend Monarch Camps!!

Sara K.

Yelp
They are fantastic, as always. My daughter came in as an older beginner and she has learned so much AND improved quite a lot. Highly recommend

Jamie F.

Yelp
We love love Monarch Camps! We sent my daughter when she was 5 for her first summer camp and immediately added weeks because they are such an incredible camp. From swimming to rock climbing, gymnastics to soccer, my daughter fell in love with Monarch Camps. Also, the field trips every Wednesday is a huge hit! The staff is professional and so nice & the extended hours are so appreciated. Lastly, the focus around building friendships with the "friendship circle" every morning and afternoon is the best!

Wesley F.

Yelp
Amazing! After one class, my son loved the rock wall climbing and can't wait to go back!

Samantha F.

Yelp
My 2 kids love gymnastics at Monarch! They have been doing gymnastics here since before covid and were so happy when it opened back up. They are excited to go each week and are learning a lot. The gym itself is top notch, it's a very impressive space and I love that parents can watch from outside the glass. When my son turned 6 last year he also started doing rock climbing which he has also really enjoyed.

Lina Y.

Yelp
Before the COVID pandemic, my two daughters (now 5yo and 3yo) used to do all sorts of activities. But ever since then, we stopped almost all extracurricular activities until we finally decided to venture out and started Monarch Gymnastics. It has been the best decision ever! Both girls LOVE coming to class and the younger one actually got sad because she does not want to leave!...The facility is within LAVC and it is so nice & big and clean! There's always parking. All the coaches, particularly Coach Trista and Coach Grace are amazing! All the kids are always engaged and doing an exercise whether it's trampoline, balance beams or an obstacle course the coaches create. I even saw some of the older kids climb up the highest rope! so impressive! There's also a rock climbing wall that I am interested in joining myself! This place is just overall awesome.

Mari J.

Yelp
Monarch is one of our favorites for summer camp and a great choice for weekend gymnastics! My daughter loves that Coach Grace is kind, encouraging, and patient. She guides the kids through a variety of challenging and easy exercises and allows them to be independent in small groups. She leaves happy and determined no matter what they did in class!

J. L.

Yelp
Our five year old daughter always looks forward to gymnastics class each week. The teachers are patient. We've been very pleased with the level of instruction and with the staff, too.

Yelp
Great spot to practice/learn new tricks. They have all major gymnastics equipment (bars, beam, vault, rings, tumbling floor) and the crowd there is always friendly and willing to help you learn or work on your tricks! $8 admission and it's only an open gym to the public Tuesdays and Fridays 7pm-10pm.

Zuleika D.

Yelp
Both my kids are attending Monarch Gymnastics and Rock climbing classes! THEY LOVE IT! The rock climbing class is great for those kids who want to do something different than your regular sports. Plus safety is a big priority so I don't stress. My daughter adores her gymnastics coaches! She loves it so much, she's enrolled in their tumbling summer camp! Thank you, Monarch!

Mary K.

Yelp
My daughter loves gymnastics at Monarch so much! Amazing facility, great coaches, lots of options for days/times...we love it:)

Katherine M.

Yelp
We love Monarch Camps Gymnastics. We have been bringing our daughters to Gymnastics at LAVC for 5 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The coaches are all very knowledgeable and nice. We tried 2 other gymnastics locations in the valley during COVID and nothing beats Monarch Gymnastics. It is a very large space with tons of gymnastics equipment. They also have a gymnastics team. The prices are very reasonable. My daughters look forward to gymnastics every week!
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
The new facility on the corner of Ethel and Hatteras is fantastic. Brand new, modern, air conditioned, with all-new equipment and plenty of space. The main gymnasium is closed off from the rest of the rooms, with many windows so that parents can watch without interfering and distracting others. The large bathrooms and huge lobby are comfortable and an added bonus. They have multipurpose rooms for other classes, dance, etc. Parking on the weekends is easy and you currently don't need a permit to park in the adjacent lot. You'll need a parking permit on weekdays, but they're pretty cheap. My almost 6-year-old has been taking classes off and on here for a few years. He loves it. His coaches have been Dennis, Destinee, Chris and Zack. All have been great with him. We have him enrolled in weekly beginners classes for 4-6 boys. We're looking into private classes here too to help him grow with more one-on-one time. Currently, these classes are $50/month. It used to be between $10 and $12 a class, prorated depending on the number of classes in a given month. They don't do that anymore. Now, if the month has 5 classes, you're getting them for $10 each. If the month only has 3 classes, it'll average out to $16+ each. Something to be aware of if that matters to you. I called about it and this is their new policy, with no plans to make any changes. This is still the most affordable gymnastics option I've found in the Valley. And well worth it. The coaches are experienced and great with kids. Everyone, including the parents, are relaxed and laid back. No stress, no drama, just plain fun and exercise.

Dan G.

Yelp
My 14 year old has really enjoyed the Tumbling class over the last 6 months. Great facility. He's happy, I'm happy.

K F.

Yelp
My kiddos both love going to gymnastics! The coaches are kind and supportive, the space is large and has a lot of equipment, and their COVID protocols are excellent. We are doing the gymnastics camp for a few weeks this summer because they're so happy!

Anna K.

Yelp
Monarch Camps Gymnastics ‍ is excellent! Coach Grace is outstanding, as are the other coaches! Highly recommended!!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
The kids can't wait to go rockwall climbing every week. The coaches are very safety conscious and fun. It is a really great time and a full body work out. They will definitely keep going. I would definitely recommend Monarch Camp Rockwall Climbing for all adventurous kids.

Yelp
a great place to do gymnastics and practice stunt--y moves. Has all the Olympic events, a tumble track into a pit, crash mats and pads. A really nice community of former gymnasts, cheerleaders, coaches. You'll see some pretty damn good moves.

Liudmila G.

Yelp
my daughter Anna loves gymnastics in this center, she always goes to it with pleasure. the teachers are very attentive. it's a pity that there are no evening classes for children, we would gladly attend them too
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
The gym itself is new and clean and the coaches are great but the office staff tends to be very standoff-ish and inflexible. It is very hard to get your child enrolled so there are often wait lists and then if your child gets off the wait list they won't give you the sibling discount because you didn't enroll together. They put my son on the waitlist without informing me that he aged out mid way through the session and then when I wanted to move my daughter to line up with his new class they charged me a transfer fee for each month. The rates are reasonable but we've been coming here for 2 years with 2 kids, why charge a fee to change her name on a roster? Probably most upsetting is recently they let a child out of the gym to go to the bathroom, she was unattended by staff and her mom did not see her be let out. In her panic she found her in the middle of the parking lot. No one in the office seemed to be concerned or feel any sense of responsibility about it they just wanted to blame the parent and point fingers at her. Shame on them.

Yelp
Fantastic place to work on your tumbling. If you do stunts for film or are an actor that enjoys doing your own stunts this is a great place to work on that. You will be surrounded by other stunt people and tumblers and they are always there with friendly advice on your technique. Easy recommend :) 5 out of 5 stars

Kristin P.

Yelp
We absolutely love this gym! Our kids have been in gymnastics since they were 2 and they have had the best teachers! Every teacher that our kids have been with have all been AMAZING - I feel like we can't go wrong with whoever we have! We just had their birthday party here and it was great! We had Coach Belem and Coach Chris and they were FANTASTIC with the kids! This is a wonderful place to have a birthday party - well planned and organized and no set up or clean up required by you - just go and watch your kids have the time of their lives! I can't say enough wonderful things about this gym!

Michele L.

Yelp
If you have kids in gymnastics classes you should check this program out. We had our 5 year old son in classes at one of the well-known gyms and we like this program a lot better. The classes are small and they are flexible and will work with you on the scheduling. At the other gym the class spent a lot of time on "fun activities" and waiting in line to take a turn at a skill. At this gym the kids are moving all the time and they work on skills plus they get a great workout. And our son has more fun than at the other gym! Most classes are primarily girls, but they have classes on Sundays called "Mighty Boys" that, as you might guess, are for boys only. The teacher, Sean, is great, and he works with them on focusing their energy. Warning - This gym is in what looks like a 1950s hangar and it is not as nice inside as the other gyms. But the kids don't care and it is also a lot less expensive.
