Monastero di Cortona - Hotel & Spa

I visited the Monastero Di Cortona in November with two friends as we traveled through Tuscany. What a wonderful experience!|The accommodations and service were exceptional. The hotel has an incredibly efficient front desk staff and everyone from the wait staff to the maitre d, Matteo went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and catered to. The spa was also a top notch experience. This luxury hotel is not to be missed. It sits at the top of a hill and the views are breathtaking. I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. It is not to be missed. A true jewel in a beautiful setting.

Our two nights here was one of highlights of our two-week vacation in Italy. Matteo, Sara, and the rest of the staff were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in the beautiful Junior Suite Gli Affreschi which had beautiful views. The room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed. We had breakfast and dinner here both days during our stay. The food and service were exceptional.||I had emailed the hotel before our stay regarding transportation to the hotel. Sara reserved a taxi for pick-up and return to the train station for us. ||I highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

I absolutely loved this place! The staff is so incredibly helpful. I was taking the train to Cortona and missed my stop so had to go one beyond the hotel had the taxi driver come and get me so I didn't have to wait for a return train. And that was at the beginning of my stay! The rooms are so comfortable and mine had an incredible view of the sunset each night. The staff in the restaurant and bar are also wonderful. As a gluten-free diner, they always had accommodations for me at breakfast as well as the snacks at the bar. I was sad to leave and will look forward to returning.

I loved Cortona, Italy, the views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking. And Monastero di Cortona is even better. I loved my room with the view across the entire valley, I saw birds flying high, my windows opened to fresh air and sunshine. The rooftop pool is wonderful and the service up there is great also. I wish I had stayed longer, I would have used the spa services. It is a very romantic couples type of hotel, and I was solo and I still enjoyed it.

Just left this hotel and had an incredible experience. Very atmospheric property with vaulted ceilings, original frescoes and a spectacular pool area. All of the dining was five stars with thoughtful touches and exquisite service. Breakfasts fit for royalty. A three minute walk from the centre of Cortona which is a perfect microcosm of Tuscany with Etruscan heritage. I woke up feeling like an Italian princess in one the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in and had a dreamy prenatal massage. My one piece of advice is to suck it up and reserve the paid parking. The public parking is paid as well and a hassle. And be careful if your car is not super compact, it was an ordeal getting my Citroen C5 out of one of the hotel garages but the staff was very helpful.

We travelled a total of 1 month throughout Italy and had several different hotels and spas. Several tried to be luxury with a welcome drink and a tour of the grounds but most missed the mark as their heart was not in it. Monastero Di Cortona was spot on. The staff was caring, the breakfast crew remembered our preferences with an Americana Coffee in the morning and then a wonderful coffee with Ginseng to follow. The location to the town is so nice and it was such a wonderful town that it will you want to go back and enjoy the laid back Tuscan life.

Absolutely incredible customer service at this hotel. Made me feel truly valued and special, wonderful service. Amazing bartender creates the best cocktails. Great food at the breakfast with wonderful staff. Amazing spa, had one of the best and most relaxing massages of my life here. I will say parking here is not for the faint of heart, as it involves traversing some very narrow streets which almost lead me to a panic attack late at night. However, after doing it a couple of times, it gets better. I highly recommend this hotel at the highest level, 5 stars all the way, stay here if you have to opportunity. Also, cortona is such a cute and lovely village, we loved our time there. Huge thank you to all of the wonderful staff

A hotel I highly recommend, as well as dinner at the Gli Affreschi restaurant. I was very happy with choosing the Monastero di Cortona to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary. The service was excellent throughout. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, Bulgari amenities, and turndown service. They left us anniversary gifts, demonstrating their utmost care for the guest. It was an incredible experience to sleep in a place rich in history, which has been completely renovated, offering great comfort and good taste. Breakfast was excellent every morning, served in a beautiful indoor space and also in the outdoor patio with a special atmosphere. The pool area is very beautiful and has a beautiful view of the city from above. The spa in the ancient baths is a truly worthwhile experience. We had the privilege of dining at the Gli Affreschi restaurant and chose the tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was incredible, worthy of a Michelin star. The restaurant's atmosphere is very special, rich in history, and combined with the delicious food and excellent service, it made for a truly special evening! I recommend this restaurant to both guests and non-guests. It's worth traveling to Cortona if you're nearby to try this experience. Taziana's excellent service is a highlight. Everything is a 10/10. I plan to return whenever I'm in the area.
