Monday Bakery

Full disclosure I took far more pictures of pastries than what I actually tasted but what I did taste was delicious. Ordered: Banana cream croissant: flaky, buttery croissant filled with a banana flavored cream that tasted like real banana (not faux flavoring) without being overly sweet Pina colada cruffin: could have possibly done with a tiny bit less pineapple jam filling but still tasty Everything was great!

We really enjoyed Monday cafe. Our pastries were good, the coffee was a bit weak though, that’s why four out of five stars. The service and overall experience is fantastic, so actually I’ll up it to give stars, but make sure you order a shot or two of espresso with your coffee. Neither of us got that waking up caffeine goodness from theirs.

We were very pleased with our visit here. The quiche, breakfast sandwich and all of the pastries were amazing. The sticky bun was really good! If you are in Napa and have a full day planned, you’re breakfast plans are made!

Not good enough. I baked a strawberry coffee cake last week, and it was mind blowing good - rich in flavor, soft and fluffy, beautiful crumb. So I was excited to try this strawberry coffee cake. Unfortunately, can’t really taste the strawberries, crumb on top is too hard, cake texture could be softer. Kouign amann didn’t spark joy I expect from beautiful lamination of butter and caramelized sugar… just wasn’t there.

Great pastries and breakfast food, favorite was the bagel breakfast sando (made with Paulie's bagels - the best). Cute interior with bakery decorations, and a cool open window to the upstairs bakery. Good coffee, friendly staff; we will certainly be back for a quick, delicious breakfast.

Always excited to check out a new bakery. This one was very exciting, the baked goods were presented very well. We had coffee and green tea. The Jasmine green tea could be better curated. the sour cream coffee cake was the highlight of our trip here It was very well baked. The caramelized sugar really spoke to me in a good way. I also went for the funfetti cake because it looked so beautifully done perfect sprinkles on the outside precise layering, and a gorgeous interfinish. However, this cake did not taste good. It was very thick like a compacted sponge. Perhaps it was just old from sitting out all day or for the weekend who knows. it's the first time I bought a piece of cake from a bakery that I had to throw away actually.

Amazing coffee shop downtown Napa!! Please give this a visit!! Kouign amann was absolutely delicious and the coffee was some of the best cold brew I’ve ever had. I sat outside in the morning and it was extremely pleasant. Will definitely be back.

I just love visiting and eating in this wonderful bakery. The baked goods are just lovely and perfect. My absolute favorite is Monday Bakery's Kouign-amann. It is just delightful. The sandwiches are great and I just love their peach ice tea. Don't miss out!

My husband and I are from San Jose and every time we're in Napa, Monday Bakery is a must. They have amazing pastries and one of the best Kouign Aman I ever had in the bay! Coffee is also pretty good but go for the baked goodies for sure! The only caveat is their service is kinda hit or miss. More hits than misses but the last time we went (today) they had a very snarky employee that needs to adjust his attitude. I'm talking about the gentleman with the glasses and septum piercing. First of all, we ordered coffee and apparently he had already placed the coffee on the counter and we didn't know nor see based on where we were sitting. Which is not a big deal, we just didn't know? But he later then said that our coffee had been sitting there the entire time and when we said oh we didn't know, he proceeded to tell us "well I thought you saw that I had put it on the counter". Which again is not a big deal but I mean, nobody called that the coffee was ready and there's no need to be snarky about it. The rudest was when my husband asked politely for 2% milk and the same employee just said "we don't have 2%" in a very annoyed tone and didn't even proceeded to list any alternatives. We're not rude customers or people and we have pretty high tolerance for others who are impatient, having a bad day or whatever. But there was just no need to make us feel bad that we didn't see our coffee because we were just having a pleasant morning sitting there waiting anyways. So fix your attitude sir. Sassy and snarky is not always a positive trait for every situation. Still giving this place 5 stars cause it's amazing.

- Cute interiors with chic decors on the wall - Tried their iced matcha latte and was decent - Lots of seatings and has wifi - Convenient location surrounded by other local shops - Overall a pleasant experience - Came one hour before closing and the staff was nice but seemed a bit distracted as I inquired about drink options, and the avocado toast inside the glass shelf didn't look fresh at that time.

Yummy pastries, cute sitting area, nice mersh! Got the banana bread with nutella and a lemon poppyseed muffin. To drink I decided on the maple latte (I forgot the exact name) The muffin had good flavor, I could really taste the lemon and poppyseed but it was really dense, which shouldn't be the case for muffins in my humble opinion. The banana bread was really good, definitely enjoyed it. Moist and delicious. The maple latte did not taste at all like maple. All in all I would return to try some other tasty looking treats.

Tried this local place, based off a recommendation, and really enjoyed it. There is seating inside and out. The staff is attentive and friendly. And the items we tried were yummy -- avocado toast, veggie croissant, Yuzu Honey Espresso drink

I made a visit to Monday Bakery & Cafe back in September '23, because my driver mentioned this cute café that he liked. I was enticed by its promise of a cozy atmosphere and the promise of delightful treats. While my experience had its highs and lows, it left me with mixed feelings. The matcha latte unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations. As a matcha enthusiast, I found it lacking in depth and flavor, leaving me somewhat disappointed. On a brighter note, when I thought all was going downhill, the banana bread with nutella was a delightful and undoubtedly the highlight of my visit. Moist, flavorful, and generously coated with chocolate, it was a comforting treat that complemented the overall ambiance of the cafe. The combination of banana and nutella was a perfect indulgence, and I would highly recommend it to fellow yelpers. The cafe itself has a charming aesthetic, with fun photo frames and some punny art, providing a welcoming space to relax and unwind. The service was friendly, adding to the positive aspects of my visit. While the matcha may not have met my expectations, the scrumptious banana bread with nutella has left me willing to give Monday Cafe another try. Perhaps next time, I'll explore more of their menu to discover other hidden gems. Happy Eating :)

Love the buttery croissants- best in town. It's has nice crunch and lightness at bite! Sage Cardamon coffee was also excellent made by barista! Such a well-lit , bright and good energy feel. Plenty of seats and outdoor chairs.

Monday Bakery is still just breathtaking. The ambiance, decor, fascinating upstairs window to the bakers working hard upstairs, and friendly staff. If you visit you must order the croissants or anything related to baked goods and flakiness. Also, I hear the Nutella banana bread goes quickly. Don't pass up their bakery's best. Don't be a flake and just order the flaky baked goods and you won't be disappointed. Our guests are never disappointed when we bring them here.

TLDR; GO. An absolute amazing bakery. I mean... each pastry was 5/5!!!! Some of the best flaky pastries i've ever had in the states.. Melt in my mouth, PLZ! Great service, chill ambiance. Delicious coffee. I grabbed a cortado and my partner had a latte with their orange blossom syrup. Both were great and the espresso was really tasty. Service was kind, and the seating on the parkelt is great for people watching. We split an oat, apple zucchini muffin which was also delicious, with almond butter on top.

One of the best croissants ive had- top 3 for sure, and big too. Meant to go back and get some to take back to MD but forgot.

What a cute little bakery. Wanted something sweet before we went home and found this little spot! The Nutella banana bread. Wow. So moist and flavorful. The Morning bun. Heaven in my mouth! Service was friendly and fast. Definitely recommend this bakery.

This place is amazing! All the baked goods are phenomenal and the staff is super friendly. If you need a wedding cake, this is definitely the place to go. Their cakes are delicious and beautiful. Keep in mind that they are a busy bakery so if you leave a message, they will call you back.

Ordered a matcha latte over ice + almond milk + honey for sweetener! Super yummy. The place is super cute as well. However, just wish they would use a higher quality almond milk, especially when it's a pricey matcha - I can generally tell when the ingredients are a little funky because my stomach has a bad reaction to them. Lots of fillers and additives in Califia farms barista almond milk!

Came to visit Napa and wanted to try a bakery/coffee shop. We decided on this place for a weekend visit. We were glad that we did! It's a bit small, but there is seating available outside. They have a variety of parties, food items and drinks. I also appreciate the many alternative milk options! What we ordered: Mocha - really good mocha, very solid and would rate it 8/10 Vanilla bean miracle milk latte - really good latte, it was little bit sweeter than what I typically like, but it was still good 8/10 Sour cream coffee cake - really yummy cake! Definitely would order this again 9/10 Croissant - this was a special croissant that was smother with a vanilla syrup on the outside. It was really good and paired well with the vanilla latte Overall, it was a really nice visit and we were really happy to have found a great bakery/place we can revisit while we are in Napa.

Monday Bakery did an outstanding job with the cake, cupcakes and pastries for my daughter's wedding shower!!! I would highly recommend them !!! Second time using them and will go back for every special event!!! 10 out of 10!!!

I placed an online order less than 10 days from when Iwas traveling to Napa to celebrate several birthdays among friends. I got a call from Claire the next time they were open to confirm my very confused order. Claire was patient with me as she helped me figure out what I needed and helped me settle on the Honey Peach Bourbon Cake. The cake was a hit. Adorned with fresh flowers it was amazing. Will definitely order from them again if ever I am back in Napa.

Small but super clean and bright coffee shop in downtown Napa. I ordered a double cappuccino intending to have it there, but for some reason they gave it to me in a to go cup. And the cup was super small - like 8oz. Guava cheese pastry was okay - it seemed like they just squirted guava jelly into the end of the triangular croissant like dough. Meat quiche on the salty side but filled well with bits of sausage and what I think was chorizo and perhaps some bacon too. Very friendly and welcoming. That's all

Walking around Downtown I saw this place closed so after reading all the good reviews, I decided to go the morning after. Cute little spot with enough seating indoor and outdoor. It feels bright and modern with all those posters, including some pictures of the owner. Service was friendly and fast. I saw one of the bakers with colored hair. How cool is that? I went around 9am on Sunday. They still had a lot of options. It was hard to only choose one. I went with the berry bar and matcha latte. Matcha latte was perfect. Not sweet, the way I like it. The berry bar. AMAZING. One of the best desserts I had in a long time. Can't wait to comeback!

Love this adorable coffee shop located in downtown Napa. I believe they are only open in the early part of the day. Their coffee is delicious and they have a huge selection of pastries. Get there early though, they sell out!

This was a fabulous bakery for a croissant and a coffee. I loved the kouign amann! It was on of the bests I have ever had.

Food was yummy although there was a small selection. Very friendly and welcoming bakery. Such a cute area outside to eat and very clean.

Instantly one of my absolute favorite places in Napa, which says a lot because there are so many amazing places in Napa! This review is a bit overdue, as my hubby and I first discovered Monday Bakery on a Monday (ironically enough) a couple of months ago and loved it so much that we went back again the next day! We would've gone back a 3rd day, but they're closed on Wednesdays (FYI). 3 words: Pistachio milk latte! That little hint of pistachio reminded me of being in Italy and happily enjoying a little cup of coffee and pistachio gelato! Well of course that combo would rock! We love that they offer that milk alternative, and it's such a nice treat to try something different than our typical almond or oat milk lattes. Monday also makes theee tastiest vegan & gluten-free muffins! We got the Sweet Potato Apple Oat Muffin with Almond Butter Drizzle. Correction, we got like 3 (one to share and 2 to take home)! I hope they have them the next time we get to visit Napa again, because I've been craving those tasty little suckers! Their Oat Bar (also vegan & gluten-free) is also yummy. We can't wait to return so we can try more of their tasty treats! The employees here were cheerful and welcoming, and even their social media person was awesome! I posted a couple of Instagram Stories raving about them and was pleasantly surprised when they took the time to share them and thank me, plus even messaged me back after I sent them a little question we had. Just wonderful peeps I tell ya! Monday Bakery reminds us of the bright, cheerful cafés that we love in Paris. They even have outdoor tables on the sidewalk and in a little parklet right out front which felt oh so Parisian as well. Definitely treat yo'self here. You'll wish every day was Monday...well, almost! ;)

I'm a self proclaimed lavender latte snob. It's rare you come across a coffee shop that makes it and it's more common that it's overbearing in flavor. This morning I have found my favorite to date. I ordered a lavender honey latte with almond milk. It was a subtle hint of lavender, just enough to taste it and not feel like you're chewing on a lavender flower. In addition to coffee they have a wide array of pastries, but sweet and savory. I'd recommend this coffee shop for sure.

Not a busy Monday around 12:30. 3 staff all more interested in their conversation than helping us. Coffee was bitter and lukewarm. Cappuccino as small for the price and not well made. Didn't even try the pastries since we saw a fly sitting on an almond croissant. They looked flat and old... Sandwiches were premade sitting out on counter or wrapped inside the cooler. Total waste of time.

Awesome awesome local bakery. Super cute inside. We came back twice! They have so much options for food, from muffins, breads, croissants to breakfast sandwiches and quiches! All of it was great and I liked their chai tea lattes. Service is quite quick as well. Indoor and outdoor seating but its smaller inside so if its raining it might be hard to get a seat. Closed Wednesday I believe.

Such a cute bakery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the products they offer. They were a bit backed up but it was because of the questions from guests. I ordered the pretzel bite with cheese and thought it was pretty good. Hubs ordered a cookie and strawberry coffee cake which he enjoyed!

Monday Bakery is my go-to spot for a caffeine and pastry fix! The location is great, pastries are top notch, and the coffee is perfection. Staff are incredibly warm and helpful. While it can get a bit loud inside during busy hours, it's a great place to work remotely and they have free wifi!

Updating my review! I go for my favorites which are the sweet potato apple oat muffin, matcha, and avocado toast. The muffin is vegan, dairy free, and it's sweet but not too sweet. The avocado toast has a hint of lemon that adds a nice citrusy flavor to every bite and the micro greens add a nice cruuunch! Love that there are vegan and dairy free options. Love love this bakery! As a local Monday Bakery is definitely a must visit!! :)

Great little bakery downtown! We highly enjoy their different types of baked goods such as their croissants, morning buns and muffins. All pair nicely with a good latte.

Very friendly, welcoming staff. The lemon muffin I purchased was a little underwhelming considering the price. The Mocha was very good. I'd be willing to give them another shot, though I think they are a bit pricey for a bakery, Napa location notwithstanding.

Pastries are good, service and systems are not. I ordered a kouign amman this morning. It took about seven minutes before I got it. I get that a cashier can't prepare everything, but grabbing a pastry to go should be quicker than that. When I got my order, I checked with the person handing it to me that it was a kouign amman. He said yes. I didn't open the box. When I got home, it was in fact a butter croissant. Problems happen, and maybe this was a one-off, but to wait seven minutes for the wrong pastry is no fun. I don't prefer to leave negative reviews for stuff like this, but I tried to e-mail this feedback to the email listed on Monday's website and their email address doesn't work.

I love Monday Bakery! And it is woman-owned! I've had their coffee and some baked goods (including cake by the slice). The pastries I've tried were so fresh and delicious. They make their syrups for the coffee in house which is a plus. The service I've received from various staff has been good overall. The aesthetic inside and out is a lovely bright mint/pistachio mint green--you can't miss it! They also have a points/rewards system you can sign up for via phone number. There's seating inside and outside (with umbrellas). Check their Instagram account for updates about the specials!

I am not one to leave reviews, but the manager Claire absolutely ruined our day. We traveled from out of state for wedding appointments. We confirmed our cake tasting via email with Claire the week of. She asked that we call and provide payment information to confirm. I called several times and reached only voicemail which I did not leave my credit card via voicemail as that would be absolutely nuts. I emailed Claire to let her know I could not get through via phone and to please call me so I could give my credit card info. I never received a call or another email. We showed up day of and Claire let us know that since they did not have our payment info they did not make our tasting cakes. Not only did they cancel the appointment without telling us, Claire was unapologetic and rude. She told me she "doesn't have time to call clients or check her email". Unfortunately, someone who treats their customers this way does not deserve our business. I hope this serves as a warning to any other brides or customers. Do not waste your time with these people until they get new management.

Awesome espresso, awesome food. Go! I'm somewhat of a blueberry muffin connoisseur. 9 out of 10 times I'm disappointed with the "home made" muffin from local restaurants, but this one was perfect. Tons of blueberries, no artificial taste, soft, moist, delicious.

I give them 5 stars because the pastries and frittata was so good. Friendly staff. Very quiet and calm place.

Met a friend for coffee here and had a positive experience. It was early afternoon and I'm not drinking caffeine after 12 so they kindly made a decaf americano for me. Good coffee. Nice outside seating on the street with shade! Lots of carbs on offer here! I took a pass on those but they sure looked great. [Review 17654 overall - 445 in California - 1175 of 2022.]

When I heard them blasting Laufey's "Let You Break My Heart" as soon as I walked in the door, I knew I'd come to the right place. Cute vibes and even better coffee right in the heart of Downtown Napa. Since we were in Napa for the wine, I didn't have high expectations of the coffee, but boy did this place deliver. My husband ordered a custom matcha latte with a strawberry cold foam, and it was like drinking silky clouds with the lightest hint of strawberries. I ordered a seasonal offering called the Love Latte, and I was bracing for an extremely sweet, syrupy latte. Instead, I found myself panicked when I reached the bottom of the cup as I'd never enjoyed a flavored latte as much as I had this one - smooth brew coupled with a subtle hint of strawberry and definitely NOT too sweet at all. I look forward to visiting Monday the next time I'm in Napa! 5 stars all the way!

Loved this place so much that my husband and I had to go back... again (within 24hrs). It's a cute bakery situated in the middle of Downtown Napa. Their set is was great and efficient... but their pastries are what sets this place apart from other bakeries. It's as if the chef decided to grab his/her favorite breaded pastries from around the world and made them especially for us! Our favorite was the vegetarian breakfast sandwich and the guava pastelito. The flourless cookie great surprise too. Love, love, love! A word of caution though... make it early enough to get the more favorited items. They rotate some of their baked goods so it may be different everyday. Grab them whilst you can:)

A cute little place in Napa with the most delicious match latte. The flavor is rich and deep with matcha. I was suppose to be on a low carb diet, but not today! I couldn't resist the Kouign Amann-- a crispy croissant glazed with vanilla and baked with love. This beautifully fruit topped croissant with pastry cream was divine. Came here for the first time today (around 11am), and lesson learned: get there early. The cases were nearly cleaned out of all pastries. Wish I had known since their special on Mondays is a twice baked croissant, which I'm sure is phenomenal. I was able to get the pear-rosemary bar, the guava-cheese pastelito, a tartine (non-veg), and a hot cider. The pastries were well flavored and the texture was great. The bread of the tartine was 5 stars, but I wish the goat cheese mixture on it had some salt in/on it. Seemed like pastry prices ranged from about $5-8, which is maybe on the higher end for a single pastry, but not unusually so for the area. Will definitely be back to try more...if I can get there early enough!

Hands-down my favorite coffee shop in Napa! My coworkers and I regularly stop in for a midday pick-me-up. The coffee and pastries are outstanding and the Monday team always brightens up our mornings. The ham and cheese croissants are lifechanging. I also placed a custom cake order last year and the experience was seamless. Claire was super responsive and accommodating with food allergies. The gluten-free carrot cake was delicious and a huge hit! TLDR Monday Bakery is 10/10 and a must-try for locals and visitors alike.

super cute and trendy looking coffee shop right around the corner from our stay at Andaz! service was really good and fast, staff is chill matcha latte was as good as expected, i had it with whole milk and added their house-made vanilla syrup for some more sweetness. all of the pastries looked so good, it was kinda hard to decide what i wanted but i really enjoyed the brown butter chocolate chip cookie!! that one is a must get if you stop by. i thought the croissant was okay, it's perfectly flakey on the outside and soft on the inside. however, it was lacking on the buttery-ness that makes croissants super good. i would def come back when im in napa again!

It's disheartening that the Kouign-Amann was overbaked; such lapses in quality are regrettable. The overall cleanliness of the establishment, from the tables to the cashier service, should be addressed for a more positive dining experience. A thorough cleaning would greatly enhance the overall ambiance.

Cute little bakery, serving up some exceptional espresso. The rage salad sando with thick cut bread was also tasty and the side of pickles was so delicious. Staff was really friendly. Like meeting up with an old friend. The shop is clean with a modern feel. I'll be back!

Great latte's and cappuccino's! Lemon bar was tasty. Ambiance was inviting, clean and nice.

Enjoyed this nice cafe on a stormy Sunday. Ambiance was good; cafe was bright white, simple, and welcoming. Avocado toast with lox was a good lunch snack but a bit on the expensive side at $17.50. Cappuccino was smooth. Carrot Apple Oat muffin was tasty but a little more dense than expected. The clerk did not ask whether I wanted the muffin warmed but probably should have asked me. I think the muffin would have been even better in fragrance and taste if a bit warmed. Little things like that matter.

So this review is after we've tried this place twice, and not liked it either time. The 'fresh squeezed oj' is so bitter it's not drinkable. We told the employee, and he was polite to us, but no one actually cared. The staff took no other action. The almond croissant is so beneath our expectation for a bakery. We threw 3/4 of it away. I tried the "ham & Gruyère" quiche- but one bite and I knew it was pepper jack! So I asked to exchange for any quiche without pepper jack- they all had pepper jack! And then there was the jalapeño frittata. I don't want spicy breakfast. so the girl was trying to make their mistake right and offered me a breakfast sandwich, which I happily accepted and appreciated. But...when I tasted it I was again disappointed- it's just on a thick bun that's just tastes so cheap. We picked at our food for a few minutes and then just slid it into the trash can. Not going back.

All pastries are fresh and service is good since they heat them up upon request. There is self serve fresh water and a bright breakfast area to sit and enjoy. It can get crowded which extend a the wait time but it moves reasonable fast. Lots of street parking in that area of town.

I was excited to buy dinner rolls and streusel apple pie from the Sonoma store for Christmas Day dinner with my family. Sadly, after warming the rolls, they were gummy and extremely dense. The pie had a very good filling but the streusel had absolutely no flavor and the crust was sub-par. On the positive side, the butter croissants are delicious even a day later.

Monday Bakery was fantastic and provided a wonderful custom cake for my moms birthday party. I filled out the custom cake form on their website and they called me the next morning and confirmed all my details, the process was very fast and easy. The pick up process was great and my cake looked fantastic. Highly recommend for your custom cake needs. We received so many compliments on the cake and the taste. Loved it!!!!
